Honestly, that reprise of No Sacrifice, No Victory at the end gave me everything I wanted, along with the reprises of Arrival To Earth. I just need a few songs with the main 3 themes (Arrival To Earth, Optimus, and Autobots,) to make the score feel connected with the others. My god the arrival to Earth Part in "I had my Moments" would have been Perfect to give us a New, more mayestic Version of arrival to Earth O just don't get it why they stoped the Song at that Point. But yea "calling all autobots" has defenetly more of the old autobots theme than "I had my Moment" has of arrival to Earth. Still the best Version of the Start from arrival to Earth. It was hinted at in "Presence of Megatron", right? Even then, none of the TF sequels really used it outside of the chanting in ROTF.Calling all Autobots definitely reuses the Autobot themeNick conducted some of it during his tour breaks ! ;)
At the end, James Sale conduct the orchestra, NGS left for the HZ TourI suspect this film is all about intensity. I think none of the characters will get an introduction. The movie will just start in the middle of the war.The Decepticon Motif is used in AOEThanks for the info, Hybrid! Anyway, it's really strange that a war epic is maybe Nolan's shortest film so far. He barely seems to be able to make a movie under 140 minutes.I hope this time will all epic cues from movie inclued in released score :) Cant wait to see it. This is movie event of year.
It gets better after the first listen. You know what you're eaded for and the action sounds better. For example I didn't like Coming of Cybertron, at all. But in the second listen, I started to like the dark sounds, that mistry thing. So yeah, listen to it again, you might enjkoy it more. Why does evrybody assume that the album will be short. Mayne the ttack lengths are 10 or maybe 16 minutes long. He's done it before on Crimson Tide. This had 5 tracks and an hour of playtime.<br>So who knows. Mayne it's a score more than 1 hour.Best soundtrack in the last 3 years? I need to give one another round because I didn't think it was anywhere near that level after the first listen. Can anybody tell me how can Satnam Ramgotra be listed as additional music composer for this? I thought he was just a musicianWell I hope Hans "could" credit everybody and disqualify himself from the "FYC" award races like he loves to... But not easy with a Nolan movie !
Also track "I Had My Moment" is theme from Transformers 1.If there is a scene where they try to dock to an rotating boat, this epic music won't be on the album :DTotally agree with Bar. There is lots of nice melodic tracks (We Have To Go - TOP, Sacrifice, You Have Been Chosen, History of Transformers, Seglass Ni Tonday....) and also some tracks with same theme like in T1 (Did You forget Who I Am, I Had My Moment...) This is one of the best soundtrack albums in last three years.Lets pray for the FYC to be huge like it was for InterstellarWell, I think this one is truly amazing. I did not exept too much, but eventually I'm happier with Steve's T5 then I was for example with BvS by Zimmer and JunkieXL, that really dissapointed me.

Live on Tour - Antwerpen 2017

Dear Hans

the experiment whom I have just lived this day was fabulous, you and your orchestra did nothing but climb levels throughout this extraordinary concert and I hope that it will climb of them others during the rest of your round and your life.

During all the concert, I did nothing but admire your work which is stunning like your production and your fastener towards your orchestra and your public .

Pirate of the Caribbean was brilliant especially the solos of Tina Guo, I had even shivers of them on my chair like for Gladiator, Inception, The Dark knight Small channels without forgetting celebrates it King lion where one was pleased immense to hear the voice of Mr Lebo M (Lebohang Morake) at the time of the beginning of the music.

I hope to re-examine you one day on the Belgian territory for your next round while hoping that there is one of them.

I wish you a good wind for your future productions, it was a pleasure of listening to you and to see you in truth even if I were far from the scene and it will be always a pleasure of listening to your musics.

Sincere greetings still a large whole thank you for what you do and courage for the continuation.

Live Tour Sound Levels - Glasgow edition

Leaving this comment here as not sure where else one would feedback on such things but...

I was at the show in Glasgow last night (18/06/2017) and sadly had a similar experience to quite a few of the posters below. The sound levels were really, really off and made the melody inaudible for most of the concert. For the first half of the concert it seemed there was some effort to counteract this (i.e. the pieces would find their level about half way through each one) but the second half of the concert was just a wall of sound. For example, The Wonder Woman Theme ("Is She With You?") was utterly unrecognizable except that Hans Zimmer made reference to it once the piece ended. It made me sad that all the build, nuance and explosive musical climax that HZ and his team are known for were lost in the cacophony.
I left feeling really angry and to be honest angry for the performers most of all. You can see that they play their socks off, are ridiculously talented and love what they do, but they were greatly misrepresented by the poor levels last night.

To be clear, I saw this concert last year in another city and it was amazing. When the music is allowed to shine it is truly wonderful. So my issue was with the poor sound quality rather than the music selection itself. I find it quite shocking that for a tour that has been going for well over a year, with a set running order, talented musicians and crew, and with the technology that we now have, that the sound could be such a disaster.

That being said, if you get a chance go see this tour. The lighting and staging are done well. Hans' anecdotes are charming and the musicians are a joy to watch. When the sound levels are on point the music is powerful and moving, and if you are fan of his body of work you really need to hear Hans Zimmer's compositions live.

Thanks you for cheering me up in London on the 16th June. My Dad had a near fatal heart attack at the age of 85. He's only just alive but insisted I came to the concert at the SSE. Although a sad time you helped me get through the day and night. Gladiator was done so beautifully that night I balled my eyes out throughout the performance.

Your're an inspiration and one the greats.

I saw Hidden Figures this weekend and as a former adolescent NASA geek from the 60's I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the stories. There were only two places in the film where the music grabbed my attention. Those times were after John Glenn's lift-off as he climbed into orbit and when he had his ticker tape parade. Can you tell me, is that a snippet of Carmen Ohio I am hearing?" If so, it is a great tribute to Sen. Glenn and his love for the Buckeye State. If not, chalk it up to failing hearing and an vivid imagination.

I caught Carmen, Ohio too. Awesome!

Having been a member of the OSU Marching Band, I assure you that you did hear the first 5-6 notes of "Carmen, Ohio" (the Ohio State alma mater) during the launch sequence.

Glenn himself went to Muskingum College, about 50 miles away from Ohio State. I don't know what their alma meter is.

Dear Mr Zimmer,

I would also like to join the comments about the concert in Budapest. I traveled with my mother from Novi Sad, Serbia and we bought the best tickets available, since we are both devoted fans. My mother started following Your work since she was a teen from the early 80s and she introduced me to movie scores for the first time when I was a child. Ever since, we listened to every new score with great admiration and excitement and we were hoping to have the opportunity to hear the live performance.

Finally, we bought the tickets for Budapest, but instead of the long anticipated evening filled with divine beauty of music, we were devastated during the second part of the concert.

The first part was truly what You are known for and what people want and expect to hear. I must say that the theme from the Gladiator moved me deeply and it represented the high-peak of the evening. The themes from The Lion King and the DaVinci Code were simply perfect and incredibly emotional as well. I would especially like to praise the solo sections of Ms Tina and Mr Lebo.

From all the magnificent and beautiful themes from King Arthur (which I consider inevitable to perform), Pearl Harbor, Rush, Spirit the Stallion of the Cimarron, The Last of the Samurai and Tears of the Sun and many many others, the setlist of the second part of the concert was a painful disappointment.

Instead of blissful peace it brought nothing but aggression and destruction with that much emphasis on the electric guitar. It is the type of music that goes quite well with the superhero movies, nevertheless we expected more themes with the symphonic orchestra instead of all that electronics. When I came home, the first thing I did was to listen to the good old themes I mentioned above, just to erase the memory of the evening before.

However, I would go to the concert again without a second thought if the setlist would be modified and performed with more acoustic instruments and piano to represent the very best of Your work, which is how You initially won the audience.

All of the above was said and written in hope that You will take these remarks and the comments of Your longterm fans in consideration.

Yours faithfully,
Sara

Oh ... I'm supposed to write in English ... this will be nothing :-) Sorry guys ... I want to talk about my emotions here ... I can not bend in the language ...

Oh...

Henrike + Harry

Dear Hans Zimmer,

I just came home from your 2017.06.01 Budapest concert. I have to say that the first half of your concert was superb (which included Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean), but the second half was a huge disappointment. It resembled more a heavy metal concert than an actual symphonic concert. I could scarcely recognize any musical themes during the second half, seemed like you just left your talent in the first half. Also I deeply missed the music of King Arthur, which is one of your (if not) best score. Please next time try harder and leave out the heavy metal stuff, your audience loves you for your melodic orchestra and not the brainless bass.

Sincerely: Endre

Hello Hans Zimmer,

We visited your concert yesterday here in Budapest. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The first half was OK, but the second half was terrible. It was like a very loud heavy metal concert, we had to cover our ears and not just our ears, but we also had to close our eyes, because of the constant, annoying stroboscope. It was harmful for both eyes and ears and we have seen children and even a pregnant woman in the concert. I am sure it was not healthy for them either. We had to leave 10 minutes before the end because my wife got sick.

What a disappointment...

Regards, Peter

Dear Hans,

me and my wife visited the concert in Leipzig, Germany on May 24th 2017. We are big fans of Hans’ music and were in joyful anticipation to see him playing live some of our most favorite songs.

We had tickets for the best category right in front of the stage. By the way: we also visited John Williams and we have tickets for James Newton Howard as well.

But sadly this concert was a total disaster and we drove back home with nothing else than disappointment and anger. Compared to John Williams, where we were totally excited and told everybody about the great concert, we weren’t able to do this for the Hans Zimmer concert.

Let me explain in short, how we experienced this Hans’ concert.

1) Sound
The sound was horrible. The bass (especially sub-bass) was way to loud. Everything was booming, the sound was ‚muddy‘ and totally distorted. Vocals were hearable and understandable only if the band was playing very quitely.

At least, many people had to cover their ears because of the high loudness. And some people left the concert because of the bad sound. And just as a note: such high levels are harmful to health and if you like your fans to hear your music in the future, you shouldn’t kill their hearing ability!

Front of House was at the very end of the hall - so they didn’t hear how bad it was in front of the stage - and the most expensive seats.

I have to say this was no professional work. It seems like they just tried to kill any noise by turning up the volume to the max (like in the 80s) instead of optimizing sound and setup adjusted to the hall and the audience.

2) Lightshow and screen
The lightshow was a lowlight as well.

Almost the whole lightshow was based on strobe effects and flashing lights - no matter if the moving hads were flashing or the psychedelic moving images on the big screen were flickering and flashing. I was not able to watch this concert longer than a few seconds and then I had to close my eyes for a few seconds before I was able to watch again. Two hours of strobing and flickering lights, all the way from light to dark and back again in high frequencies was very exhausting. And it wasn’t only me. I saw a lot of people keeping their heads down and were watching the ground and not the stage.

Lucky me, I’m not an epileptic….

The big screen was used only for this irritating images and sometimes for pre-recorded! scenes, where some of the musicians were playing their instruments instead of showing the band or Hans’ playing live or if Hans’ is telling stories about the songs, his live or his friends and band colleagues.

At least this kind of lightshow and use of the big screen didn’t make it possible to see the artists faces. So it’s a bit like with the sound… You couldn’t hear them, but you couldn’t see them as well.

So why do you visit a concert? Right, to see the artist play and hear, what they play. Both wasn’t possible or a joy that day.

There are many clips on YouTube, where you can see and hear what we experienced. And no, the distorted sound is not caused by „bad mics“ of the smartphones...

I’m very sad to say this, but this was the worst concert of my live. I’m not able to tell anything good about this event - and everybody was expecting the total opposite. And to be honest - I wish I could get my money back, for the very first time in my live after visiting a concert. It was such a waste of time and money :(

Dear Hans Zimmer Team,
what is up with your Live-Tour sound? Almost all of the eventim-FanReports for your live tour talk about deafening bass, drowned-in-noise vocals, actually exploding speakers and people leaving early. I was in Leipzig, your technicians might remember the guy who asked them for earplugs.

I will alert the emissions-protection-bureau about this. Because submitting People to 100+dB without proper warning is actually illegal here.

In truth, I would like my money back.

Hello Hans Zimmer,

My boyfriend and i went to your concert in Forum yesterday.
My boyfriend have been a fan of you, since he was a teenager, renting your soundtracks in the public libary. He is 32 now. I gave his tickets for the show as a surprise and he had been talking about it every day for more than 2 months. He knows facts about dreams you had when you were younger, why you chose a certain tune and he has watched the thin red line at least a 1000 times, just for the music.
We came an hour early yesterday all ready and so happy. Then you began. Everyhing was wrong. The music was at least 25 % too loud. We had no chance what so ever to the seperat instruments. People were covering their ears most of the time. The light show was enough to make anyone get an epileptic seizure.
What we love about your music and you, is that you can create a universe with one sound. Yesterday was more like being at a heavy metal concert. You had no reason for the gospel singers, because you could not hear ONE word they were saying.
The last song you played, on the piano alone, was amazing. And half of the lion king and half of pirates o t c. But the rest sounded like being at copenhagen hell (a rock festival).
You have meant everything for my boyfriends musical taste. And he was so sad yesterday, because you completly shattered his idea of that.
We had to walk home instead of taking the train, because we were just so angry and had so much to talk about.

I am so so sorry about last night. I wish it had never heppened.
Regards Mille

Sehr geehrter Herr Zimmer

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I am actually very interested into Orchestras and Scores.
I have seen tons of footage and also did some recherche how to arrange and organize an orchestra, when I suddenly stumbled about two and a half questions.

Question one:
why are string and woodwindinsruments the only ones with a static position?

Question two:
on what does it depend, that Xylophones, Drums, Pianos, Harps and sometimes Brassinstruments, vary their position?

Question two and a half:
does this depend on the acustic of a room or is there any certain specialty to define the seating?

When artists like Hans Zimmer have their staff include the disclaimer: "Please don't ask us how to contact them ( i.e: Hans or the other Remote Control composers ) either" on their Contact page -it's clear that thes artists have lost touch and respect for the people who have put them where they are today. Why even HAVE a Contact page on your website if you don't WANT fan contact? Oh wait, I get it -we're only supposed to use this Contact page to lavish praise upon Hans and his fellow ( Remote Control ) Music God composers. What was I thinking? These Music Gods wouldn't actually want to "rub elbows" with the "little people" who purchase their music ( -which allows them to make very comfortable livings for themselves ). I actually feel sad for these out of touch "stuffed-shirts".

Well said Tom, and what shall I say, you hear it in the newly compositions. Not the theme but the production outcome is bad. Hollywood is taken over, so sad ...

Andrew2017-03-02 01:27:25
Maybe it's because they were getting too many, "Hey, Hans, listen to what I wrote" kind of submissions mixed with just regular abuse of the contact page. I'm a composer and understand not wanting to allow free contact, you have only so many hours to write something incredible. On top of that, 'Hollywood' is a very friendly world of professionals who are willing to teach when the opportunity arises. Hans is doing a master class, yes he probably gets paid nicely, BUT WHAT COPOSTITION TEACHER DOESN'T? Especially world renowned. Lastly, Hans doesn't make the bulk of his money from selling OST's, he get's it from working on big budget projects. Hans is very much on board with being in contact with the public but has to have some safeguards for himself in terms of contact. Do something amazing and maybe he'll decide to "rub elbows" with you.

A compilation of 'The Rock' music would be great for the 2017 tour! :)
