Sadly, he doesn't seem to say anything new besides the background information on the Zimmer and Harry Gregson scores he's worked on. Plus the Skyscraper information still doesn't excuse the generic committee product that score turned out to be.Does anyone know what songs Max Aruj and Steffen Thum have worked on?Though there are differences, I think HZ & NGS styles mix together rather well.<br><br>Tracks like "Fort Walton", "Goodspeed Tracks Jade" or "Jade" are exceptions for sure. Apart from these, most tracks blend very well, imo.<br>It's very different from Armageddon for exemple, when team Trevor and team Harry had very different styles (big anthems & guitars VS darker material and more subtle theme developments) and also different sound equipments (I can tell immediately who did what thanks to the sound banks they used). The Rock doesn't suffer from those extreme differences imo.<br><br>We fans here listened to those scores for over 20 years and we've learnt how to spot each composer (thanks to this website and all the infos on each track we got over the years). I'm not sure I could have noticed all those details back in 1996, or even 10 years ago.<br><br>Nonetheless, The Rock is one of the greatest action scores ever. While more coherent scores like Crimson Tide or The Fan grew on me over the years, The Rock keeps a very special place in my heart.yes i hope 2 cd!!!!Hi, <br>Ever paid tribute to Gorecki?<br>I think you should<br><br>Cheers<br><br>Mjt Sprengers
The only way I won't be able to the listen to it before the episode is if it will be released in Germany in the night to tuesday. But I don't know how I would find that.Does someone know something about the soundtrack already? Like how many songs there will be or maybe even the full track list? Or will it be a big surprise?I will, Backbiter, because I live in Germany and in my country the final episode will be released on monday. I will watch it with my friends and therefore we will watch it around 8pm in my time. If the soundtrack will be released in the night from sunday to monday, I will be able to listen to the soundtrack before I watch the final episode.Yasss<br><br>Please be 2 discsThis is an okay score. Nothing super spectacular, but it fits the movie very well. The only issue I really took is that the end credits arrangement of the Pokemon video game theme is absent from the CD - I would wager quite a few people bought the CD just for that only to be disappointed. For me, it would have ended the CD perfectly.<br><br>Anybody know why it was left off? Something Nintendo told them 'no' on?
Very interesting interview. Thanks man!Judging by the YouTube views, not a lot of people have listened to this 1-hour chat with Steve. So I'm posting it here for you folks to enjoy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bR0TPYmidNYI have nothing against any of the composers who worked on The Rock, but to my ears, the Nick Glennie-Smith stuff sounds obviously different from the Hans Zimmer stuff, and they both sound very different from the Harry Gregson-Williams stuff. And the transitions are a tad jarring at times. I've never seen anyone else post this opinion before, though, so I may be the only one!<br>=====================<br><br><br>That's actually very interesting. Never thought of it that way. And you're right. For those who are well aware of the overall MV/RC sound, there is indeed a difference between the Zimmer style and the Glennie-Smith style. However, I think that the two styles blend pretty well in The Rock. The movie itself allows for that. So I would argue that, while watching the actual movie, the two styles work very well together and they complement each other. <br><br>But listening to the score alone, yes, I can definitely see where you're coming from. The differences are obvious. Having said that, I still consider it to be a masterpiece of action scoring. And not only action. The emotional bits are great too. JADE is an extremely beautiful and tender track :))<br><br>P.S. The Peacemaker is on my personal TOP 5 of the greatest action scores of all time. I can't believe the score is not as popular as The Rock. Same for Eraser, by the way. Watch the movie again on a good sound system and you'll be blown away by the awesome Silvestri score. I really wish those two scores were more popular with the public......The 90s had some of the greatest action movie scores ever<br>================================<br><br>Without a doubt. I grew up in the 90s and I was there for all of it. Truly one of the best decades for film music (and for cinema in general). I mean, it's the decade that changed action scores forever. Exactly because of scores like The Rock, Twister, Armageddon, Crimson Tide and The Peacemaker. Granted, Harold Faltermeyer kinda started it all in the mid-80s with his work on Top Gun, Tango and Cash and Beverly Hills Cop 2, but it was Hans and his team who really got the ball rolling. By the way, I'm super happy that Hans and Faltermeyer are teaming up for Top Gun 2. At least according to IMDb....<br><br><br>==================<br>The opening theme is probably Zimmer's best in the genre<br>==================<br><br>Agreed. It's the ultimate Zimmer power anthem. I know the younger generation knows Hans mainly from his work on comicbook movies like Batman and Spider Man, but for me, 90's Zimmer will always be the best Zimmer. And my favorite Zimmer :))I'm so excited hear that.
No you won't, the score will be released after the final episode.Yesssssssssss yessss yesCan't wait for this soundtrack.<br>Just a few days left.Oh. My. Gods. (The old ones and the new.) That's so good news. And I can't wait for sunday.<br><br>The best is, that I can here the soundtrack before I watch the final episode. And I like to hear to a score without knowing wich music belongs to what kind of scene.Yesss. Can't wait!

Dear Mr. Zimmer,

I am entering my surgery residency next month. I am also in the process of commissioning as an officer in the US military. Before attending medical school, I worked as an engineer and volunteered as an EMT. I have written and published 11 novels and one novella. I wanted to let you know that throughout my life, your music has served as my soundtrack. I have seen movies expressly because you were the score composer. I am a huge fan, and will continue to download and listen to everything you compose. It never ceases to evoke emotion, inspiration, and sometimes even spiritual moments as I go about my work. You can expect that when I am the lead surgeon on a case and have the privilege of choosing the music, your scores will be playing over the OR speakers.

Sincerely,

Morgan Gilmour

Dear Hans Zimmer,
I'm a huge fan of your work for a longggg time! I recently had the privilege to attend to Lisbon's concert on April, 3 at Altice Arena. It was such a brilliant show!!! I still have the shivers when I remember it! and you did show up on stage! That was one of the highest moments of the show!!

As a fan of your music, I'd like to suggest you to add 3 or 4 OST musics to your next concerts. Movies musics like the following are worth listening at a live performance:
- The Rock - it's full of adrenaline!
- Crimson Tide - performing the musics with the russian navy choir would be simply fabulous!
- True Romance - you already performed this one in early concerts (as in "In the Wings of a Film"). Fantastic music!
- Blue Planet [TV Serie] - the images that could be displayed can be a wonderful tribute to our Pale Blue Dot (as Carl Sagan called Earth)!

Please think about this possible enhancement of your next performances!
Best regards and keep on ,
Pedro

Dear Hans Zimmer,
Thank You so much for your great work, yes, life's work. All your music is so emotional. You composed so much movingly songs, I become tears of emotion and goose bumps, while hearing them. Your songs helped me to handle with some bad situations of my life...
I wish you heartfelt health and happiness...
Best regards,

Dear Mr. Zimmer. As I understood you created the OST for Camille (2007). Was it really you? And if it's right, where to find the main song of the movie? Thank you in advance.

Dear Hans Zimmer.

I have no idea if you ever read this, but i just want to thank you for all the amazing music you have create through the years.
You are truly a gifted man.
I hope you along your life had time to teach young talents so they will be able to create such amazing music as you in the future.
I dont know you, but i think you have a love for music and to experiment with music and be the best you can be.
I enjoy your music for movies and impressed how you created the music for "interstellar" with old fashion church ovel/pipes. I think this show you are great and special when you think out of the box and play and experiement with music due to creative talent.
( ps.. i cant even play an instrument my self, but i love your music ).

I wish you the very best, and peace and quiet during old age and hope you will continue to create music as long as you live. Please teach other talented young people to step in your place.

Thank you for everyting amazing work.

A fan ;-)

Hello everyone,

My daughter is looking for some Hans Zimmer music for her gymnatics. That's the kind of stuff she does :

youtube.com/watch?v=bj7slPUbAws

If you have any suggestions of HZ tracks or cues that could match that type of gymnastics floor routine, feel free to share.

Thank you !

Dear Mr. Zimmer,

I went to tonights concert (January 13th, 2019) of your music in the Admiralspalast in Berlin and was thoroughly disappointed. Bad acoustics, weak sound. On the screen behind the orchestra they showed perhaps 10% original pictures from the movie soundtrack they played, most of it what they showed were unrelated cartoons. Many tracks of your music like Inception were hardly recognizable, none of your other tracks were played in a professional fashion. Why do you allow them to use your name for such a rip-off?

Best regards

Ralf Mathiesen

Goldenthal would be ideal - absolutely, but is there anything in Villeneuve's ouvre to merit such a grandiose score? If Balfe gets his dirty mittens on this, it will sound like any-other-thing. At the same time. Junkie's Mortal Engines is a huge orchestral fantasy score, precisely the kind that this film may deem old fashioned (I dare compare Junk XL to Krull with this score - they are as good!). It will probably just be Andrew Kaczxynski (under the Hans Zimmer label) farting into a tube and Barfe blasting out the same old string figure, but now, IMPORTANTLY, with Moroccan bowls (as his silly percussion for MI: Fallout seemed to be so impressive as it used bongo drums - JUST LIKE SCHIFRIN!! Yeah).

Mr. Zimmer sir you have to do a concert in Nashville Tennessee in 2019. I as many others have hoped for years you would come here, I think you could easily fill up the Nissan Stadium it holds about 70 thousand or maybe you would like Bridgestone Arena capacity about 20 thousand, it is said by many to have the best acoustics of any arena in the U.S. We also have the Nashville Symphony in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. We would LOVE to have you, Sir. God bless.

Hello. My english is not as good as it should be, so i will tell you, what i have to say, in german.
Sehr geehrter Herr Zimmer,

Man of Steel OST bewegt mich in jeder Faser meines Körpers.

According to the YouTube Music Policies they are all forbidden.
Please tell me, whats going on?

Come on, this is not a joke.
Finally, YouTube will terminate a channel for copyright violation.
I ask You: Is it allowed to use Hans Zimmers "Time", etc - in a YouTube-Video?

Hans doesn't own his scores, Time belong to Warner Bros, those would be the ones to contact !

(Siehe: Youtube Music Policies)

Maestro Zimmer, like so many others, I am entranced by your choral piece "Aurora: Tribute to the Victims" first recorded in 2012. There must be a way that I can buy that recording. There are many versions floating around in the electronic sphere, but none with the clarity and beauty of your original. How can this be made available for purchase once again?
