This mean the recording sessions?First Jedi Fallen Order, now Solo? I love this news! And I get the distinct feeling both releases are being used to determine interest in further Star Wars expanded score releases further down the line! Only real bummer is no CD to go on the shelf, but I'll take this any way it comes! He's just posted in his Instagram story that in 9 days he has more interesting stuff coming.<br><br>Very curiousFantastic! Looking forward to that variation on Duel of the Fates! Now the only complete Powell collection I'm looking for is HTTYD 3.It's coming in November!!! This is so cool!!
Not referring you, superEXPANDED RELEASE SON!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GO!You mean that's GREAT news !Now that’s good news!I hear Harry Potter in tracks like "Playful Secrets" and "Labyrinths & Humps". <br><br>Yes i realize Elfman has had similar sounds to those tracks too, but i think Steve is at the very least trying to homage Harry Potter in a few sections. <br><br>And personally I think the main theme is the most Pirates-like, but that's why i said there's still Zimmer influence, (yes i know a few tracks sound like King Arthur too), but it's not overwhelming for the most part.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (The Deluxe Edition)<br><br>Coming soon to digital exclusive streaming: over 2 hours of original/unedited music from Solo: A Star Wars Story [as written for the film]<br><br>All cues + the original unedited version of the end credits suite!I never made the statement that only orchestral scores are good. I like the TF movies, Halo soundtracks, a lot of Hans Zimmer works including Interstellar. <br><br>However, i have little appreciation or interest in scores with little to no melody besides basic progressions. I need a heart to my score, not just music that works for the movie.Agree, solid work, but dosen't sound like John Williams, more like Danny Elfman.<br><br>Also, the main theme sounds like Pirates of the Caribbeanwhat an incredible album! it is getting very close to my personal favorite which is dunkirk. there is so much mastery in both. one thing that dunkirk has that this album doesn't have is a sense of repetition. both albums have some kind of non-finality. with dunkirk, i feel transported back to the beginning. with this one, i am not sure what comes next.<br><br>Hans and team probably have their share of anecdotes but here's another one.<br><br>i was playing this one day and my friend's daughter asked me if this was from... she hesitated and asked: the dark phoenix movie? i was astonished. she is 12 and probably not into movie scores. but she was able to pinpoint the right movie from a random part. that's something many aspire to. especially with the millions of super heroes movies out there!<br><br>i told her how impressed i was and went on unleashing my Hans Zimmer collection onto her haha :)Because i don't support the idea of 'only good scores are full orchestral', don't agree with that statement.<br><br>Yes, i love Your Highness and Steamboy, aslo really like stuff like TF (except the four) and TMNT 2. But also something like Pain & Gain, Bloodshot, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Deepwater Horizon, even i consider (unpopular opinion) guilty pleasure Battleship.<br><br>Yes, i'm weird :p<br>
I love revisiting this score. It's just so much fun, and I love hearing this side of Steve's music. I remember watching interviews where he'd talk about programming John Williams' string patterns into midi instruments, and his love for Williams' work overall. This side of him is rarely shown in his projects. <br><br>But then you have scores like this that show off how much of a wizard he can be with music. Melodic action music, fun and creative use of synth, classic Jablonsky choir chants, and beautiful use of the orchestra. Perfect for a fantasy comedy with a modern twist. <br><br>I cannot stress enough how much I love tracks like "Isabel the Strong", "Labyrinths And Humps", and "Mean Knights and Horsies O' My!". "Playful Secrets" in particular shows just how much of an expert Steve is with an orchestra. It sounds straight out of a John Williams score like Harry Potter or Indiana Jones with a fun Danny Elfman choir on top. Not to mention the beautifully performed bassoon and French Horn combo at 0:39 and 0:44! <br><br>These are the kinds of projects I like to see from Jablonsky. Films and games that allow him to show off his skills and test his abilities to the point where he creates complex, unique, varied, thematically rich, and truly poignant music. <br><br>This is something that I can point to and say "that's 100% a Steve Jablonsky score". It has some influence from Zimmer, but is not copying him by any means. Maybe with the slight exception of "Thadeous".Can't really agree that much with Bloodshot. The reason I was able to be engaged in Jablonsky's past scores similar to this (e.g. TF5, TMNT 2) was his strong melodic voice. Even in the more sound design parts of those scores there was at least several themes that I enjoyed, easily identified, and analyzed some lovely development for them. <br><br>Bloodshot doesn't really have that, it's got themes so minimal (except for KT which I can't really enjoy because the melody sounds identical to "Optimus"), that whatever development is there, I feel nothing toward because it's easy and boring to develop a theme that's basically just a series of chords. <br><br>Keanu I can't entirely judge Jablonsky for as it was also Nathan Whitehead's score, but it just sounds like Bloodshot 0.5 to me. Guitar chords, sound design, string ostinatos, wandering piano theme, been there done that. <br><br>Good lord, do I hope Steve works on Orbital Era though. It would be so refreshing to hear a full-on orchestral Jablonsky score again. Not only better than Spenser, it's better than Skyscraper.<br><br>Ok, Bloodshot maybe isn't one of the best works by Jablonsky, but after such disappointing with Skyscraper, see Jab in a work with choir, guitars, cool themes (if don't catch the similarities between KT's theme with the Autobots theme ;D) and good action writing (hang in there, i'm not going say is something good as Steamboy or Your Highness, even some of the Transformers/The Island stuff), as for the sound design, i prefer people like Jab, Zimmer or Holkenborg MORE than something dreadful as Reznor/RossJust listen Bloodshot OST again and I like it better than for the first time. Yes there is a lot of sounddesign elements, but quiet and melodic moments are good at some parts. My favorite track is "Bloodshot". For me this work, despite all the problems, is far better than Spencer Confidential.<br><br>There is extremely need of new Sci-Fi (not like Bloodshot, lol) or Fantasy project for Steve to work on. I'm fairly certain that he could provide amazing music for this genres, but for some reason.<br>Also, I've listened a few tracks from his "Keanu" score (posted on his new website) and it's wonderful, hope there will be a full release sometime. This one reminds me of another genre where Steve is good - comedy and parody movies - "Your Highness", "Pain and Gain", "Sims 3" (yes, it's a game score but it has that comedy atmosphere I'm talking about) all are really great scores for its genre.<br><br>For me "Eternals" from Marvel could be a good movie for Steve to work. And honestly, I would like to see what he could brings to "Godzilla vs Kong" crossover more than Junkie XL.<br><br>At least I hope that Katsuhiro Otomo would like to work with Steve again on his new anime project "Orbital Era", truly a dream-project.Yes, the sound mixing in the movie is bad, you can't listen the music properly, is buried under a lot of sound effects.<br><br>It was one of those situations where 'the music is trying to overlook the thunderous sound effects',

Hey, I was wondering if I could find sheet music for the song, It's so overt it's covert. It's fine if I can't find it here, I just really like the song and wanted to be able to play it on my own. (with my orchestra friends, of course)
Thanks!

It's a soundtrack, you're supposed to put all the music on it.

I would appreciate it if in the future all of the Kung Fu Panda soundtracks actually included ALL the music from the movie.

I am greatly disappointed in the fact that I paid for something and realistically only got half of it.

Same with the Kung Fu Panda 2 Soundtrack.

Is there any chance we could get the music that is missing from the soundtracks?

Mycroft2012-01-12 04:51:15
This place is only a fan site, man. Asking the webmasters and programmers of this site to give you the missing music to the soundtracks you seek isn't going to help you at all. They might not even have the music themselves--and even if they did, they aren't just going to share it with you because you want it. No, they might not even share it with you if you paid good money.

There is absolutely nothing you can do nor is there anyone you can contact here or hardly anywhere else on all of the world wide web who can help you get the music you seek. I hate to be a dream crusher, but that's the way it has to be--it's the way the world goes round.

Sad Fan2012-01-12 05:05:57
I just fund out that on the Kung Fu Panda 2 website, it has an auto playing music thingy, that plays through the entire soudntrack of KFP2, only that, it has EVERY song from the movie, unlike the soundtrack. Now, how to download them....

theeaglesfan0052012-01-12 16:54:56
the record companies dont see a huge market in releasing FULL scores... they put 60ish minutes or so & sell it... there's apparently a bigger market in commercial releases.. makes me mad... i mean LOTR & The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo have full releases that you can buy.. i hope TDKR does this

Mycroft2012-01-12 17:35:57
@Sad Fan: You can download an add-on for Firefox that will snag that music for you. Or you can go digging deep into your temp internet folders. And if all that's too complicated, you could just do a stereo mix recording of the music that's playing through Audacity.

Sad Fan2012-01-13 01:00:41
Yes, I managed to download all the songs, but unfortunately, they are all crap quality. This pisses me off so much.

Nope, this is an information site only, although it has turned to rubbish in recent months (the opinion of others). In fact, discussion about downloading music is shunned and your comment will likely be removed in a short time...yet they will leave mine creating a hole in the conversation.

Hello RCP team, now in english.

I have a question which I can find on the Internet now no conclusive answer. As it now looks really, if I want to use the amazing music from you in a Machinima (video game)? Can I? It should be posted on the YouTube platform then. Where would I updating of course, that this music comes from Hans rooms. Question now, I allowed to do that ... through some forums and have not come to the answer which really is acute! :) Thank schonmal, and the BEST OF album - Prague Philharmonic is really beautiful! :)

Kind regards, Dennis!

Hallo RCP Team,

Lieben Gruß, Dennis!

I'm searching for a special track from the movie "Backdraft", that doesn't seem to be on the Soundtrack CD. Can anybody here name me anyoe who could help me with that?
Thanks.

Mycroft2012-01-07 18:04:04
Well, if it's not on the OST and there are no expanded versions of the score (are there? I've never even heard of this film), then likely the only people who can help you aren't going to. The elitist pigs have all the music us low-downs could ever dream of having but they are not allowed to share their music because of the way the world works.

Dennis2012-01-08 19:23:23
Yeah, it is not on the OST and I haven't found something like an expanded or extended version...what a pity. Searching for this track for years.

Dear Mr. Zimmer,
It is my dream to work on compositions for video games and films. I have been an accomplished musician for some time now, and I have played guitar since age six. I am now twenty-one years old, and I am pursuing a bachelors degree in video game production, and hopefully afterward, a bachelors in composition. I have so many questions before I make my final decision. I was just wondering if you could tell me how I can become a great composer if I am already memorizing my compositions, and playing them on guitar. Do you use any specific computer recording, enhancing, or mixing programs? If so, which ones? This has been my dream for such a long time, and I have been a huge fan of your mastermind compositions since "The Gladiator". Thank you for continuing to be a great inspiration!

Respectfully,

Hallo!

Me again2011-11-22 18:05:12
Whoopsy... sorry, this is an international page and it deserves an english comment!
So i just wanted to say that i made a Rock Version of Hans Zimmers "Dream is Collapsing". I know that the dream that Hans Zimmer himself could hear it will not come true, but still i think that there are a few people here that could be interested.
So if you want, just write "Steffen Schöps Hans Zimmer" in the Youtube Search bar. That`s it, so easy!
Thanks a lot! :)

My two cents, take it or leave it...

I LOVE this site! It's a great resource and pretty much THE go-to place for information on Zimmer and co. People need to stop destroying the integrity of this site by posting unofficial and unchecked tracklists, and requesting EVERY SINGLE SCORE in existence just because they found the track titles on ASCAP. I know Hybrid works very hard to get this information, and we should be happy with what we've got.

If you want bootlegs, do a little detective work and figure it out yourselves. Count on Hybrid to post what's real; the man does his homework.

Your call, Antas & Nico ! ;)

Anonymous2011-10-29 01:01:19
well do it Hybrid do it, you have the power, don't you, what kind of arrogance. What maintain this site as number one for over the years was definitely the information of many of the unreleased scores. But, like you say, just a few clicks and the secondary market in gone forever, it's your page.

Mr. Fate2011-10-29 02:04:28
You present a valid point Anonymous. Sure, some of the discussions of recent have gotten out of hand and are a mess, but there are many useful pieces of information around this site. I'd think it would be sad to lose all that information, especially since this place is about the only place you can find it.

It may be a drastic analogy (just because I couldn't think of anything on a smaller scale) but it'd almost be like the burning of the Library of Alexandria. So much information was stored there, and then it got burned down losing countless priceless documents for all eternity. What great writings could have been there that we never even knew existed? If you choose to delete whatever you want to, you could be destroying information that could have been of value for many years to come.

Perhaps, I don't entirely understand what all Hybrid was thinking about deleting, but I'd just like you to consider these sort of things before making a regrettable decision.

cheesy2011-10-29 02:41:08
Don't you think bootleg discussion would continue either way? I mean, let's be real here, most of the crap discussions about fake complete scores actually take place on the topic boards for official albums (like recent Inception, Sherlock Holmes, ect). Deleting the secondary market pages wouldn't stop these discussions. In all honesty, it would probably just make the problem even worse, due to the scramble and lack of information. I think if we could just revert back to merely a few months or so ago, when the bootleg discussion was minimal yet consolidated and helpful, then we would see the balance.

I don't know if Hybrid was just making a veiled threat there, but going through with the decision in question just seems like it would be counterproductive, unnecessary, and, above all, regrettable. I second everything the others said, and affirm the usefulness of the information you're threatening to delete. Anon has a point; the secondary market pages are what make this site so unique.

I really like the music Hans Zimmer and the people he works with create and I became curious about his work and his career. So I visited some websites and found the following information on imdb.com :

"He told in an interview that he would retire for some years after The Dark Knight, saying he has been exhausted in the past years. He also said that he wants to help young composers and would produce their scores..."

That impressed me and earned my appreciation. But then I checked whether it's a valid information or not because I thought it would mean that he wants to try to help and support young composers, that he would try to encourage and promote young talents. Anyways I must have got that wrong because when I came to this site one of the first things I read was " Hans Zimmer and other composers from Remote Control do not accept demos or unsolicited audio/video material. Please, don't ask us how to contact them either. " But then if I didn't get it wrong, and I must say I hope so, how will he be able to discover talents? If there was somebody who is really a great composer/musician, how could he get to know it when it says that he doesn't want to be contacted? I'm just curious about that and I hope I can get some answers, thank you (:

Alex2011-10-09 07:49:03
You said you were curious - here are the answers

1. Start composing ; get a degree ; compose for anything you can get paid for.

2. Get representation - Zimmer/Rifkin Remote Control Productions can't solicit material from you or Joe Compose without an (accredited) agent or manager.

3. In terms of contacting - these (awesome) dudes can't because they run a FAN SITE.

4. Networking - everyone knows someone. And some people might know a guy who's an RCP dude. Being nice and a book of faces are your film friends are key here.

5. GET OUT THERE AND DO IT. Because procrastination gets you nowhere.

Now ...go.

^ This all applies to Lorne Balfe's early career.
