Yep. He will be in Nightwing's next solo movie<br>I think we all agree, Lorne Balfe is getting better and better, he's working at the speed of light and handles many different genres. Plus, he seems to be a very cool person. I'm really happy he got there, and I believe he'll be getting some major movies in the next few years (Terminator Genysis, Geostorm & Ghost in the Shell don't count, they were predicted failures undergoing a damage control process).<br><br>But anyway, I think his best solo score is still Home.Maybe there is a big surprise and Disc 2 is different from the actual release. If you look at the download files you see 01-01 to 01-24. I think Disc 2 must be named 02-01, 02-02...etc.Can I ask why there is no page made for The Nut Job 2 by Heitor Pereira?I'm not upset, nor am I disinterested in Balfe's work. Don't get me wrong. I welcome any and all discussion! But there's a difference between "discussion" and "blind fanboy gushing", and I've seen way more of the latter here this year than the former.
Have to agree because if you haven’t an interest in Lorne’s work then just don’t goto his films topics ! Either way I like the suite here good old school MVIf you have an issue with Balfe simply don’t click on Geostorm etc! Just ignore it . God knows why Edmund gets so upset !!!! I mean I saw a comment that said that all of Balfe's scores from 2017 were the best of their genre which I think is over the top. I mean nothing against Balfe, he's a very good composer, but I just don't think he deserves all that praise about him being the best.Anything, @LP. I myself have spent several hours of my life listening Balfe's work and, of course, commenting here.<br><br>It's okay to get on a page and say "this is the best score of all ages" or "this is the worst shit I've ever heard", as long as this behavior is restricted to a minority who has make the mistake of making this kind of comment because not listened to many jobs of the same composer or of other composers or who do not respect his efforts to carry out the work.<br><br>

Well, I agree that this behavior in any session regardless of who the composer is, is very uncomfortable. But we have to understand that each an of the RCP guys has its glory days. Balfe is conquering his. The problem is the proportions of compliments. Many people liked PoTc 5 (best RCP score of the year in my opinion, of course), for example, many also hated, the justifications were many, but the discussion was balanced. If you enter on the forum of  any score of any composer you find diverse but balanced opinions, what is missing in the forums about Balfe scores is this balance. Nothing against the growth of his popularity or the reception of his scores, only the judgments that seem a little too exaggerated. It's even a little weird.Due to Edmund getting upset !!!! I’m scared to ask about if anyone knows about The Florida Project ????
How pathietic that it bothers some ,that some of us are excited about another composers music. Get a life people. Balfe has become a great composer this year so give him a break . If you don’t like it , you can find another forumI agree, I'm shocked no one is talking about how great Ramin Djawadi's score is for The Mountain Between Us. Much better than this new Lorne Balfe score, I'm mean really, this Geostorm score is just a constant reminder to other scores from RCP from the past. Nothing original here. Only the track May Day is memorable.I like it too but I don't understand why this thread is full of slobbering fanboys while nobody is talking about, say, Kingsman 2 which is just as good. I don't want to stop anyone talking about his music but did we really need every day this year for someone to go "oh my god I can't wait for Lorne to release another unreleased cue from Ghost in the Shell"? It doesn't contribute anything meaningful and makes this site look even more like a YouTube comments section than it already does.Your right Edmund ..... how dare we take about any other composer apart from Zimmer or John Powell!  Thankfully your point of view is in the minority. There is obviously a reason why he is one of the busiest composers . Geostorm isn’t original BUT it’s great music and I like it at leastI couldn't agree with you more JBSO99. I don't know what's up this year because a ton of Balfe fanboys seem to have crawled out of the woodwork. He's having a very solid year but people are acting like every score he puts out is a masterpiece or something, which...nah.

Dear Hans Zimmer,

I just came home from your 2017.06.01 Budapest concert. I have to say that the first half of your concert was superb (which included Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean), but the second half was a huge disappointment. It resembled more a heavy metal concert than an actual symphonic concert. I could scarcely recognize any musical themes during the second half, seemed like you just left your talent in the first half. Also I deeply missed the music of King Arthur, which is one of your (if not) best score. Please next time try harder and leave out the heavy metal stuff, your audience loves you for your melodic orchestra and not the brainless bass.

We visited your concert yesterday here in Budapest. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The first half was OK, but the second half was terrible. It was like a very loud heavy metal concert, we had to cover our ears and not just our ears, but we also had to close our eyes, because of the constant, annoying stroboscope. It was harmful for both eyes and ears and we have seen children and even a pregnant woman in the concert. I am sure it was not healthy for them either. We had to leave 10 minutes before the end because my wife got sick.

What a disappointment...

Dear Hans,

me and my wife visited the concert in Leipzig, Germany on May 24th 2017. We are big fans of Hans’ music and were in joyful anticipation to see him playing live some of our most favorite songs.

We had tickets for the best category right in front of the stage. By the way: we also visited John Williams and we have tickets for James Newton Howard as well.

But sadly this concert was a total disaster and we drove back home with nothing else than disappointment and anger. Compared to John Williams, where we were totally excited and told everybody about the great concert, we weren’t able to do this for the Hans Zimmer concert.

Let me explain in short, how we experienced this Hans’ concert.

1) Sound
The sound was horrible. The bass (especially sub-bass) was way to loud. Everything was booming, the sound was ‚muddy‘ and totally distorted. Vocals were hearable and understandable only if the band was playing very quitely.

At least, many people had to cover their ears because of the high loudness. And some people left the concert because of the bad sound. And just as a note: such high levels are harmful to health and if you like your fans to hear your music in the future, you shouldn’t kill their hearing ability!

Front of House was at the very end of the hall - so they didn’t hear how bad it was in front of the stage - and the most expensive seats.

I have to say this was no professional work. It seems like they just tried to kill any noise by turning up the volume to the max (like in the 80s) instead of optimizing sound and setup adjusted to the hall and the audience.

2) Lightshow and screen
The lightshow was a lowlight as well.

Almost the whole lightshow was based on strobe effects and flashing lights - no matter if the moving hads were flashing or the psychedelic moving images on the big screen were flickering and flashing. I was not able to watch this concert longer than a few seconds and then I had to close my eyes for a few seconds before I was able to watch again. Two hours of strobing and flickering lights, all the way from light to dark and back again in high frequencies was very exhausting. And it wasn’t only me. I saw a lot of people keeping their heads down and were watching the ground and not the stage.

Lucky me, I’m not an epileptic….

The big screen was used only for this irritating images and sometimes for pre-recorded! scenes, where some of the musicians were playing their instruments instead of showing the band or Hans’ playing live or if Hans’ is telling stories about the songs, his live or his friends and band colleagues.

At least this kind of lightshow and use of the big screen didn’t make it possible to see the artists faces. So it’s a bit like with the sound… You couldn’t hear them, but you couldn’t see them as well.


So why do you visit a concert? Right, to see the artist play and hear, what they play. Both wasn’t possible or a joy that day.

There are many clips on YouTube, where you can see and hear what we experienced. And no, the distorted sound is not caused by „bad mics“ of the smartphones...


I’m very sad to say this, but this was the worst concert of my live. I’m not able to tell anything good about this event - and everybody was expecting the total opposite. And to be honest - I wish I could get my money back, for the very first time in my live after visiting a concert. It was such a waste of time and money :(

what is up with your Live-Tour sound? Almost all of the eventim-FanReports for your live tour talk about deafening bass, drowned-in-noise vocals, actually exploding speakers and people leaving early. I was in Leipzig, your technicians might remember the guy who asked them for earplugs.

I will alert the emissions-protection-bureau about this. Because submitting People to 100+dB without proper warning is actually illegal here.

In truth, I would like my money back.

Hello Hans Zimmer,

My boyfriend and i went to your concert in Forum yesterday.
My boyfriend have been a fan of you, since he was a teenager, renting your soundtracks in the public libary. He is 32 now. I gave his tickets for the show as a surprise and he had been talking about it every day for more than 2 months. He knows facts about dreams you had when you were younger, why you chose a certain tune and he has watched the thin red line at least a 1000 times, just for the music.
We came an hour early yesterday all ready and so happy. Then you began. Everyhing was wrong. The music was at least 25 % too loud. We had no chance what so ever to the seperat instruments. People were covering their ears most of the time. The light show was enough to make anyone get an epileptic seizure.
What we love about your music and you, is that you can create a universe with one sound. Yesterday was more like being at a heavy metal concert. You had no reason for the gospel singers, because you could not hear ONE word they were saying.
The last song you played, on the piano alone, was amazing. And half of the lion king and half of pirates o t c. But the rest sounded like being at copenhagen hell (a rock festival).
You have meant everything for my boyfriends musical taste. And he was so sad yesterday, because you completly shattered his idea of that.
We had to walk home instead of taking the train, because we were just so angry and had so much to talk about.

I am so so sorry about last night. I wish it had never heppened.

In Ihrem Fall macht das Wort geehrt sogar wirklich Sinn und Freude. Ich weiss nicht woher Sie diese Tiefe aus Ihrer Inspiration in Ihren Werken hervor bringen, die Art wie Sie Gefühle durch Ihre Kombinationen auslösen ist sehr berührend. Das wissen Sie selbstverständlich, haben Sie ja vermutlich schon tausend Mal gehört.

Auf diesem Weg möchte ich Ihnen gerne mitteilen, dass Sie in mir eine unglaubliche Kraft für das Positive entfachen. Als ich gesehen habe bei wievielen Filmen die mich in bestimmten Sequenzen berührt haben, Sie die Musik dazu gemacht haben, war ich "fast" schockiert. Der Höhepunkt für mich persönlich ist zwar Time, aber es gibt unzählige viele Stücke mit dem gewissen Etwas.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I am actually very interested into Orchestras and Scores.
I have seen tons of footage and also did some recherche how to arrange and organize an orchestra, when I suddenly stumbled about two and a half questions.

Question one:
why are string and woodwindinsruments the only ones with a static position?

Question two:
on what does it depend, that Xylophones, Drums, Pianos, Harps and sometimes Brassinstruments, vary their position?

Question two and a half:
does this depend on the acustic of a room or is there any certain specialty to define the seating?

When artists like Hans Zimmer have their staff include the disclaimer: "Please don't ask us how to contact them ( i.e: Hans or the other Remote Control composers ) either" on their Contact page -it's clear that thes artists have lost touch and respect for the people who have put them where they are today. Why even HAVE a Contact page on your website if you don't WANT fan contact? Oh wait, I get it -we're only supposed to use this Contact page to lavish praise upon Hans and his fellow ( Remote Control ) Music God composers. What was I thinking? These Music Gods wouldn't actually want to "rub elbows" with the "little people" who purchase their music ( -which allows them to make very comfortable livings for themselves ). I actually feel sad for these out of touch "stuffed-shirts".

Maybe it's because they were getting too many, "Hey, Hans, listen to what I wrote" kind of submissions mixed with just regular abuse of the contact page. I'm a composer and understand not wanting to allow free contact, you have only so many hours to write something incredible. On top of that, 'Hollywood' is a very friendly world of professionals who are willing to teach when the opportunity arises. Hans is doing a master class, yes he probably gets paid nicely, BUT WHAT COPOSTITION TEACHER DOESN'T? Especially world renowned. Lastly, Hans doesn't make the bulk of his money from selling OST's, he get's it from working on big budget projects. Hans is very much on board with being in contact with the public but has to have some safeguards for himself in terms of contact. Do something amazing and maybe he'll decide to "rub elbows" with you.

What is Captain Barbossas theme in Pirates of the Caribbean?

I don't think he ever got a specific theme - the ominous rising theme from "Fog Bound" and "Underwater March" is sort of used for Barbosa and the undead pirates, but not really enough for you to make that connection. The first Pirates score was never all that careful about what themes it used where and for whom - that sort of leitmotif approach didn't really happen until the second and especially third ones (and then was totally messed up again in the fourth, where IIRC they use a motif associated with Cutler Beckett/the EITC for "privateer Barbosa" for some bizarre reason).

Hello. I am a huge and serious fan of Hans Zimmer music. I am also a big fan of John Powell, the composer of scores of <The Bourne Supremacy>.

I am eager to get a "film version" of <Bim Bam Smash> the studio version of which I have. (You know, just like <Training Montage> from <Rocky 4> comes in a film version and a studio version.)

The film version of <Bim Bam Smash> is a little longer and more heart-pounding than the studio version. I could not find any tip on how to get that version after searching the whole Internet for days. I thought about extracting the score from the movie file (mp4), but the other background sound is too loud.

Any tip would be appreciated.
