Have you heard that Henry Jackman will composing his music for the upcoming 2019 picture called Pokemon: Detective Pikachu? I wonder what the film soundtrack would sound like. Hmm...I think that Howard´s style of music doesn´t really fit to the post apocalyptic genreFor a Peter Jackson production I was expecting Howard Shore.I listened to the score and is one of the most entertaining scores of this year. It's great to see the main theme return but there are a lot of new elements to enjoy and discover here. There were parts that kind of reminded me of Incredibles 2, like the begining of Shank. About his studio at RCP, is it rental or he owns the stuff? What happens to the gear when he is not around? That is probably the fairest thing anyone on this website will say about Clemmensen. :P@Anonymous<br><br>Christian Clemmensen believes that Hans Zimmer found his definitive voice back in the 1990s with scores such as Driving Miss Daisy, Rain Man, Crimson Tide, and Lion King. However, he has in reviews of later scores compared Zimmer's overly obvious chord progressions and masculinity with what the "rock ballad" did to rock-n'roll music of the '70s. To him, it's overly powerful, unsubtle, and aggressive music that appeals to the gut more than the heart or the mind. Some of Zimmer's most popular scores such as Gladiator, Pirates, and The Dark Knight he has given middling reviews for because the general sound is derivative from his earlier works, not colorful, and not creative. He also accuses Zimmer of starting a trend with overly-recycled, bombastic, masculine action music that's big on density and power and low on subtlety and personality. <br><br>I can definitely see where he's coming from, one cannot deny the similarities between Crimson Tide, Lion King, Gladiator, Pirates, Dark Knight and so forth. One also cannot deny that scores such as Dunkirk and Blade Runner 2049 qualify more as sound design than actual symphonic music (mostly). However, if he had his way, every film score would be shamelessly optimistic and flighty, all major chords (and occasionally alternating off-key), with prominent woodwinds and metallic percussion. He definitely knows what he's talking about, but he has an ideal image for film music in mind, and that very much comes through in his Zimmer reviews, some of which I think deserve much more credit than he offered (Pirates 3, Da Vinci Code, and Gladiator come to mind).a more orchestral fury roadTom is gonna score Mortal Engines<br>What kind of sound do you expect?
He has a studio at RCP but mostly work from his own home studio. His business is "Sacred Tiger Music."<br>Does Henry actually work for HZ at RCP or does he have his own film score company now like HGW?Why filmtracks always behave very Aggressive about hans zimmer and always trys to make his scores worthless ??!! Its odd for meAw Hell...<br><br>I guess it never did freeze over.Sorry, I should've been more specific. This is a comment I had originally posted on the Filmtracks forum, NOT from a Christian Clemmensen review. My bad.

Hi, i just want to say that in my country movie composers don't come very often, not even to countries neer mine. Hans, like James Horner (RIP), James Newton Howard, Steve Jablonsky, Ilan Eshkeri, and more others, i just want to say that it would be awesome to come to my country. Chile needs some of this. I know that is almost imposible to happen something like that writing just one messege in one page, i just want to express myself. I hope it does. Greetings to all.

I just wanted to post an appreciation of Hans work I watched Dunkirk and his score really rattles the nerves to create that sense of foreboding the soldiers must’ve felt on the beaches of Dunkirk - brilliant!

Hallo,
Weiß jemand was dazu?

LG

flovia2017-12-17 01:13:44
I think BGM stands for any sort of background music, e.g. caffe music, game themes and, sometimes, film scores. But, IMO, "score" sounds way beter than "BGM"

Dear Hans,

I am your number one fan. Playing and listening to your music brings on me a sense of ecstasy. When the perfect song hits, an ordinary day becomes extraordinary. Even if I've heard your songs a million times before, they affect me the same way. It's the pulse of the beat, the flow of the chord structure, a repetitive keyboard part, background harmonies or the thump of a bass line.
The overall production of your tracks can bring this euphoria, making everyone wonder how you got the music to work.
I spend hours cataloging albums and genres, creating timelines, lists and graphs, as if trying to solve a physics equation. Simply trying to make sense of it all takes hours. The constant search for a new, essential artist, album or song is something I do, all for the love of music, this is why I know you and Rick Wakeman should join hands and do a project together. I am certain you and Rick have a special bond and are ready to make a great project together.

If we didn't have music, we'd have no purpose,

Kind regards and big hug from me,
Gilberto Palma.

I pretty much know you will never see this, Mr. Zimmer.
But, I feel compelled to tell you that you have positively impacted my life with your music - which touches my core.
Thank you for creating. Thank you for your vision. And, above all else, thank you for your music which invigorates me. renews me, inspires me, and makes me both smile and cry. Thank you for being.

Namaste Hans!
What an incredible 1st half of the concert last night in Toronto!

I have high sensitivities to sound, lights, smells, and a few other elements.
Just would like to let you know that even though I brought my dark sunglasses for the bit of strobe lights I was expecting, it didn't help too much when some of the numbers in the 2nd half seemed to be bombarded with strobe lights!
It actually didn't leave a good feel, by the end of the concert. I realize it is not all about me, but as we were leaving, my son, daughter and I heard some people in the elevator on the way out, that they were also affected by the overwhelming strobe lights! Lady said she got a headache from it! My son wasn't feeling well, but he came because he loves your music so much, as my daughter.

Anyway Sir, your music is so great, it does not need strobe lights, they actually take away some of the high quality of your music because they are so distracting.

GREAT DRUMMER!!!! OMG!!!! What an amazing energy he has!
Your talks in between the music was GREAT to listen to, and deeply inspiring!

The one piece that brought me to tears was the theme from DeVinci Code, and that was just the violin playing in the beginning, simple and moving!

THANK YOU HANS ZIMMER for your MUSIC, CREATIVITY, and SHARING with the WORLD!!!!

Good Blessings to you and your loved ones, and all the other artists and crew behind the scenes, who make the in front the scenes happen!

Atlanta Concert - Tuesday, July 18th, 2017.

The concert was good last night, but not great. Re: there was a preponderance of bass that "washed out" the sound of all the instruments and detracted from the overall music. Wish I could have told him. The bass was so powerful that my wife's chest actually hurt afterward! Absolutely wonderful music and as a musician, I can really appreciate the talent, but the bass needs to be taken down several notches. Don't know if he'll ever see this. Actually listening to the Da Vinci Code score right now.

Dear Hanz,

I was at the Canandaigua concert last night, and I just wanted to say that your music reached across the world and touched me. I can't believe that a persona such as yourself would appear just an hour away from my tiny home town in rural upstate New York.

It's been my dream to write music for film for a long time, and I'm on my way to Malibu for college to study music. I've been afraid of failure in the impossible music industry, but your powerful concert reminded me that if I don't at least give music a try, I will live an empty life. Just like you said, a musician's life isn't a bad life. The challenge is incredible and the rewards sometimes slim, but in the end, it's a life with meaning, a life with something to believe in. Your music renewed that belief in me, for better or for worse.

I just wanted to let you know that, and thank you for being humble enough to come all the way out to the middle of nowhere just to bring us a little hope in the world.
