This is an RCP website, those scores aren't by RCP composers...Power anthems ???? Obviously you haven’t watched the movie. They would not fit in this movie.

Balfe’s score is really cool and not expected.Already listened to it 4 times!I agree completely.

The movie was awesome, the score works perfectly, and the only thing I didn't like was the use of songs. Too much of them. Songs rarely work during intense action scenes. They distract.

But every time the score started, I liked it. Bay may be known as the big action guy, but when it comes to scoring the more intimate/emotional moments, he and the composer (no matter who he is) always do a good job.Greenaway for President! :))I agree with Knight.

It seems some peeps were expecting power anthems left and right. Yes, this is a big movie, but not a "Transformers-big" movie. I didn't like the use of source music (I hate songs in action movies) but when Balfe's work popped up I noticed it right away.

The more emotional cues were definitely the most memorable.
What a fantastic soundtrack.
It’s totally crazy and works brilliantly in the film.
The bit emotional sections are very classic Bay but Balfe’s electronic weirdness is very unique.
It’s nothing like Balfe’s Dark Materials BUT why I’m earth should it be !
10/10Gavin should be listed as conductorBecause Ice Age was composed by David Newman and Collision Course was composed by John DebneyWhen i heard just the sound clips, i thought wtf. Sounds like the worst score, a michael bay movie ever had. Then i listened to the whole album and i have to say, there are some pretty cool tracks. I really like the electronic rhythmic stuff. Welcome to florence is awesome. The emotional moments are nice, but standard balfe stuff. In the movie, the music works really good. I think this music style is the only style, that works in THIS movie. And as hybrid says a mish mash of score and songs. The movie itself is.....strange. but at least the action rocks as hell.If "The Meltdown," "Dawn of The Dinosaurs" and "Continental Drift" are added, then how come "Ice Age" and "Collision Course" aren't?
I haven't heard the album yet but there isn't much score in the film. It's like Bad Boys II meets Domino in terms of editing, songs everywhere (19 sourced songs used), short cues... Hell there's even a 13 Hours cue tracked in the film ("Getting Aboard The Plane")."Second time"... lolAnother awsome score by lorne balfe. I really like the film 6 underground directed by michael bay, is very awsome and intense and i begin to hear the score composed by lorne balfe, and its phenomenal and his second time working with michael bay since 13 hours, which i like lorne balfe's score too. Balfe's work is really inspiring in his film score.I don't expect Lorne to make a masterpiece with each movie, but it is true that most of her films are action candies, and I can't understand how she can deliver 6 underground and then make His dark materials. It seems that within Lorne there are a thousand different composers. And I don't know what to expect from Lorne again. Can't help noticing not one, but two Zimmer titles in here.... Tracks 14 and 16. lol.
What is most disappointing is that this is a Michael Bay movie with a score being so bad. Historically his movies have fantastic scores by either Hans, Steve Jablonsky, and even Lorne Balfe. But this is hands down the worst Michael Bay score I’ve ever heard.

It’s functional, yes, but nothing compared to 13 Hours, any of the Transformers movies, The Rock, Pearl Harbor, etc. I definitely had high hopes for another good “power anthem” score... and the only cues that are any good are just Time ripoffs.

Highly disappointing.Again, if we have to expect every piece of work of one composer is have to be as good like his others pieces of work, that's pretty underwhelming and impossible.

Yeah, 6 Underground is not a good score by any means (neither Gemini Man, but is far more listenable), but works perfectly in the hiperbolic movie.I expected a lot from this score, and the truth is that it left me cold. Honestly, I think it is Bay's fault, Balfe has shown that he is capable of doing everything, but here it gives the feeling of being covered. Again, Balfe must focus on fewer projects and the projects he accepts are of quality. There are speculations about the track "Til Death Do Us Part "as being composed by Brandon Campbell. Can anyone confirm whether it was Djawadi or Campbell who composed it?Come to Portugal again.

Mr. Zimmer,
I promised my sister named Jessica Jimenez I wouldn't but she is a fourteen year old girl who is striving to be more like you. She is constanally trying to go to one of your concerts, but fails to do so. At the moment she is learning to play the guitar, and has picked up the flute, piano and is very good at making her own notes. I want to say thank you very much because without you as her rolemodel she'd be lost. Her words to me are that one day she'll meet and train with you...the best! Thank you and have a wonderful day! :) Becca

I watched the movie Madagascar 2 yesterday and noticed that there were a lot of instrumental songs not on the soundtrack? Are these non commercial songs or what? are they on a different soundtrack?

Mr. Zimmer,
Just wanted to tell you that you are an extremely talented guy. The movies I've seen that you have done the score for are amazing. They help push the movie from something good/ok/great into something fantastic. The music complements the mood and setting and pretty much whatever is going on in the movie so well. I am a particular fan of the action movies you have done like Broken Arrow, The Rock, Dark Knight, the Gladiator score was absolutely beautiful. Big fan, keep doing what you are doing.

Dear Mr. Zimmer,
My name is Diego Aldonza Crespo and I am a percussionist from Spain, really passionate about your music, specially one of your later releases "Batman - The Dark Knight". I have always wished to play soundtracks music, because I think it's the next natural step of classical music, and it talks about modern life.
I finished my Bachelor studies in Zaragoza (Spain), and I have a percussion duo with wich I have performed a lot of concerts including Bach music, tango pieces, Zivkovic duos... but it was always too tipical. So listening to your music I had a great idea that would allow me to achieve one of my dreams!! And it is to make some arrangements of your music for duo and electronics, including Midi sounds and tape. I'm writting because I would like to know what you think about it and because counting with your support would be great. I know it sounds very crazy and probably you will never read this, but I hope you understand that I had to try!!
If you want I can send you my resume so you can see that I'm serious about music.

Thank you very much in advance!
Sincerely,
Diego

Dear Mr.Zimmer,
My name is Torsten Gran-Ruaz. First and foremost I just wanted to say that I really love your work, and it has inspired me to want to do film composing. I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada and I play mostly guitar and piano. I know that the road to a musical career is a difficult one but I am willing to work as hard as I possibly can to make it happen. I am currently in grade 11 at high school, but I am planning on going to Humber College/University in Toronto for a bachelor's degree in contemporary music. I was inspired to contact you when I heard about Ramin Djawadi, because he seems to have been in a similar situation (guitar player, written for bands, etc) and I heard that he was helped greatly by you to achieve his goals. I was wondering if you could recommend maybe some schools or paths I could take to one day perhaps be taken under your wing, or if you're too busy, if maybe there's someone else who could help me out that you could recommend. Again I love your work and thank you for helping to inspire me! I understand that you're a very busy man, and it would be a treat to hear from you.

Thanks and have a great summer!

Torsten

Love Hanz Zimmer, I think his best stuff for me personally was the Broken Arrow OST.

certain parts are so chilling, I know a big part of it is the choir, but the way it goes from calm to chaos is really engaging.

Germany should be so proud.

Dear Hans,

Your work is fantastic! For the case that you may need a great vocalist on future productions, I'd like to introduce to you Jean Shy, 2009 Blues Music Award Nominee for "Soul Blues Female Artist Of The Year." Jean Shy is a brilliant, and "one of a kind" Artist.

A critique once described Jean's performance as follows:
Jean Shy has the conciseness of a Tina Turner, the vivid Northern-Soul feeling of a Van Morrison, the expressiveness of an Etta James and she convinces above all with one thing "honesty."

You can check out some of her Music at www.jeanshy.com

Wishing you continued success.

Hans Zimmer is the music legend of our time. I have never heard better music than his, and I'm certain I never will. Some parts of his songs have even made me cry, though I was sure that I didn't even know how to cry anymore, for I hadn't cried in many, many years before listening to his music. I can't even find the right words to describe how great and absolutely perfect his music is. Total epicness. Simply stunning.
