I just finished the movie last week and the score was the best thing about the film. The scene using the cue "Simba is Alive!" is perfect.Not all synths. Mazzaro and Fleming posted pictures of them recording the score at Air Studios early in November so there will be some orchestral or instrumental music.As the trailer posts, soundtrack coming from WaterTower Music.No, it's just a slight rework of Blue Monday by New Order. Admittedly, it's quite catchy. Nothing from Hans tho, not even the WW-theme at the end which they did for the first movies trailers. Guess we have to wait till the movie comes out.The only thing that matters to me about the movie is Hans, so I wonder, has the trailer musicalized Hans?
Synth Hans Iím guessing ;-)Yeah, it's a nice little mini HTTYD score. It's a bit frustrating that he's seemingly never allowed to develop an idea for very long before moving on to the next thing and the next (probably because of the pacing of the short), but I like the way he plays around with Powell's themes. It makes me think that if they ever decide to make a fourth HTTYD movie and Powell decides he's said all he has to say in the series, Willis would be a good choice to continue it (Zanelli/Pirates style).He's also credited on one short cue from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, but other than that, nothing that I know of...Just saw the movie. Seemed like the score is enjoyable enough, but I didn't hear much that would distinguish it from the first one really except some kind of standard villain material.Because those have nothing to do with Hans Zimmer or associated composers....
How come the Pixar franchise albums like "Toy Story," "Monsters, Inc.," "Finding Nemo" and "Cars" didn't make it in this website?Anthony Willis (additional composer on HTTYD 2 & 3) just wrote a nice score for HTTYD Homecoming, a "christmas special" short. The score is based on Powell's themes and style, which is a nice addition to the trilogy.

You can listen to excerpts here :
https://www.animationmagazine.net/tv/exclusive-music-clips-h ow-to-train-your-dragon-homecoming-holiday-special/Michael John Mollo - I've never seen that name before. I hope everybody gets what they want but why would a "composer" come to this website and talk about bootlegs of another composer, I wonder.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-07 00:00:00
I think patience is key here...

Why not? What harm is there in doing that? At least it lets people know its out there!

"Because trust me I could add here stuff that would make people have a heart attack & this TDK look like a "minor" bootleg... "

My god! I never want to know in this case :)

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-07 00:00:00
I didn't post it first to tease anyone (not in a bad sense anyway).

I just posted it because a couple of "covers websites" had revealed it before...

But basically I don't add secret stuff to H-Z.com, not being the first at least...

Because trust me I could add here stuff that would make people have a heart attack & this TDK look like a "minor" bootleg...

@Andrew

That's right, a bit weird, as the guy says he's been asked not to share it and at the same time is asking to drop him emails...

Maybe he just wants to be beheaded by his source...

@kakashi

... And I don't want to be beheaded myself... :)

And, as for the eternal question, 2 CD or 3 CD ? Let me tell you, the original bootleg (you can see it's actual tracklist on a cover at LostScores blogpost) is 2CD indeed, but it's the complete score as heard in film (including 25 min of (sometimes TERRIBLE) source cues/songs), so didn't contain all the unused/suite material featured in the OST...

So the 1m4 Dirty Cash (Unused), 2m13 Halfaway To Hong Kong (Unused), Interrogating Schiff (Alt intro), Batmobile Chase (well, I should have added it to the bonus as "New Batman Theme", it's actual name, I might change it someday...), End Credits from OST CD 2 & the Joker / Dente / DK suites are from the OST and not in the bootleg... What I basically did here was to compile so sort of ultimate thing... Simple as that...

Also, if Action Ice is the same as New Batman Theme, then which piece is which?

Hans Zimmer
103BPM ACTION ICE THEME

HARVEY DENT SUITE
James Newton Howard
NEW BATMAN THEME
Hans Zimmer

If Acton Ice is the same as New Batman Theme, then what gives?

Can anyone tell me where Dirty Cash is on the commerial score plzz?

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-07 00:00:00
Yes they are...

I've got the sheet music of TDK and a friend capable of "reading" music, so he confirmed those cues were where I put them !!

As for Batmobile Chase, as I said, I put it there as it sounded it should have been there, but it's not... It's not even an unused cue, it's a theme suite called "New Batman Theme" or "Action Ice Theme v7". If you watch the chase with "Like A Dog Chasing Cars", it just doesn't work ! :P

Damn I sound like Jack Sparrow... :O

Wait so Dirty Cash, Interrogating Schiff and Batmobile chase are on the OST?

Is Batmobile Chase in the correct place?

I know Hybrid is always hiding something. :)
And I also know how he feels about these bootlegs, I would do the same.
For us "minions" we should be lucky that such bootlegs even exist, and have the rare oportunity to get
our hands on them.

Enough said. Or maybe someone else.

Hi. People, I never offered to share it here. I know thats against rules. Hybrid, go back and read my comments. There is nothing there.

All I am offering to do is confirm to people that this is indeed real, once I get it. I dont have it yet, and I have been actually been told not to share it.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-06 00:00:00
Do people need any confirmation ?

I added it to the site 4 months ago, even added extracts myself... I've never fooled anyone on this site ! :P

As for a leak, it's not up to me, sorry... There's nothing I can do from this point... I just know that now, a lot of people have it as well... I'm actually surprised it's not "out" yet... Looks like for once people followed orders... But as always, it'll be all around sooner or later anyway...

So even if it is real there is no chance for us to have it? great....

(not including cues with extended endings/segments)
