I think what Lorne wrote for the last 30 min of the movie is way better than what ended in the movie... Lorne tried to elevate what was going on on screen, but it was probably too "bold" for the taste of production... They wanted to keep as "kow key" as possible but to me it made the ending of the film fall super flat...

In the end there isn't that much Lorne in the film (most of the "Moon" reel is Lorne though, that big 4 notes motif appearing during the moon landing and then takeoff). Ironically most of the droning you're all complaining about is not that much Lorne... lol

I really hope Lorne will put out as much music as possible, even all the unused parts, which are the more interesting ones !Taking in the movie now after having seen it. The cinematography is brilliant, and there are some interesting concepts that really will have you thinking long after walking out of the theater. Still, I couldnít help but feel like the film dragged throughout. Coupled with the voiceover the movie has a very ĎTerence Malick-yí, ďThin Red LineĒ feel throughout.

Iím definitely not familiar with Max Richter so I canít comment on what he might have written, but Balfeís broad-chord style is pretty recognizable throughout. There are also some interesting electronic pieces used throughout, possibly might be Balfe but hard to say as of now. The rest of the music is pretty contemplative, ranging from slow/emotional string pieces to more ambient droning.Well, I heard only Balfe's "Prayer" and Richter's "To the stars"... All I can say is we need to wait for the full release, hear both composers and only then talk about who better coped with this. (and watch the movie of course)
I don't think Balfe is a bad composer. He does pretty good as an additional composer but not as a leading (mostly). The only soundtrack that I consider the best to date in his solo career is "M:I-Fallout" and "Assassin's Creed III". (imo)
Who knows what will be this time. But for now I like Richter's track more.I'm just waiting for Gemini Man, that (i hope) would be funI love that cue.
So I created a page for it, move away from Ghost In The Shell !! :PI wonder if this track is the one causing consternation: Nils Frahm: 'Says' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIwwjy4slI8

It sounds a bit like what Richter and Balfe could produce, but it is much more artistic than Balfe and much more synth-based than Richter. Frahm is credited for additional music.Not writing negative comments about Balfe for the purpose of writing negative comments - ie. trolling - but for the fact that Balfe does not seem to take film composition seriously. Goldsmith had a similar pace in the 1990s that equates to contemporary Balfe, but he managed to produce fantastic scores like Air Force One in a few weeks (yes, with some help from McNeeely). Balfe simply does not seem to have those skills so he resorts to cliches and drony nonsense. I await to be proven wrong. That Balfe track is not half-bad so I do maintain a general sense of expectation for this.Not any more lame than the Balfe cueLorne says it will be released and insists itís not a GITS situation.
That's been standard in certain cases, though considerably less nowadays with how complicated these situations have become.

Having heard both tracks posted, both give me little on their own. I'm sure they work better in the context of the film, and we might see better tracks unveiled eventually.He deserve better.Hans and Lorne like twins. Lorne has a very good personality. I still don't understand why some people are still writing bad comments to Lorne?Probably... lolSo is this how itís gonna be? Official release for Richter and leaks by Balfe :(Lorne posted a track from Ad Astra on his YouTube channel
Thank you. And i suppose "Need You Busting My Balls - End Credits" title would correspond to ASCAP "Need You Busting My Balls" + "RUSH END CREDITS", while "Just Married" to "RUSH MAIN ON END"?Thatís literally the best part of the score though. But itís typical Richter (Miss Sloane, Black Mirror: Nosedive).Hunt Drunken Weirdness is barely a cue actually, it's just a patch up of sound designs by Mel...

Italian Party is a name I made up for a cue that's not used in the movie ! :)In ASCAP there is a cue "HUNT DRUNKEN WEIRDNESS" - is this by a chance an alias to "Italian Party", which is absent in ASCAP. Though there are different credits Zimmer/Wesson vs Zimmer/Klebe.https://open.spotify.com/ track/2UcUL4jytfVpW0jSXi3Ggi?si=ETyixI67R5u9AOU1YuClPw

very lame the cue from Max...

I'm with you guys, that idiot needs to stop attacking him. Sure, I used some choice words, but not against him. I was angry about this troll who said it was leaked. Man, people can lose it so easily

Just have to do our bidding.

The complete film score fits on 2CDs. The suites on CD3 are mixed down tracks used for the commercial release. Also, where is the end credits?

HZ reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-30 00:00:00
This is the complete score, from a copy of the master CD that was made from the recording sessions, for private use only. You should note that the cues "Sonar System" and "Unlucky driver" were scored separately, but layered on top of each other in the cut of the film. On this Sessions CD they are presented as they were originally recorded, separately.

Thanks

Iceboy reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-30 00:00:00
Mayeb BUT someone has tacked on the 3 commercial album cues to make it 3 CDs.

And film scores arent kept on CD, they are usually HDD based and in 24bit files. CD is limited to 44.1khz and 16 bits.

Exactly @2011/01/24. The complete everyone is talking about here is a fan-edited version leaked by our friend Dakota. Don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic edit; has a lot of new material and is a pretty good listen. If you can, get a hold of it. But the recording sessions listed has not been leaked, though I so badly hope that it will be one day. When that day comes, it will be an answer to prayer!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-24 00:00:00
So this version of the complete score isn't leaked yet? I'm confused, can someone please clarify for me. I got the edited version, but it wasn't anything special. I'm looking for the recording sessions like the one posted on this page.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-24 00:00:00
Oh ok. He might. Who knows?

Ya, how can they track music? And what is the Gevernment gonna come banging on my door if I download it? If I had it, I would upload it knowing how many peopl want it.

gggh reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-22 00:00:00
i just want to know if he has it or not ;) there's nothing special in this question. I'm not asking to share it, i just want to ask if he has this recording session in his collection.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-22 00:00:00
@gggh,

If you're talking about me, no, I do not have it unfortunately. I have one that's 46 tracks. If I had it I would let you guys know. Everyone is searching for it, so it shouldn't be too long. Someone somewhere out there has it and has yet to leak it. We'll get it eventually........

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-22 00:00:00
I Heard that the reason it might not be leaked right now is because the music is watermarked. meaning it can be tracked to whoever has it. and i mean anyone.

@2011/01/22 reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-22 00:00:00
Not true. They can't track anything. Once its out there, its out there.

Gav reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-21 00:00:00
@gggh (and others)
Bootlegs aren't something you ask for on a regular composer's page. You need relationss, contacts, to provide you secretly some unreleased music. Bootlegs are a matter of secret sharing / trading, and it isn't about whining, complaining and asking for bootleg scores on these boards.
It does really ruin this website's reputation.

Try at least to wait a year or two until this bootleg will flood every downloading platform and score forums.

If people are smart enough to get bootlegs, I think the other ones should scratch their head and try to be smart enough too to get things by themselves !

gggh reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-21 00:00:00
@Hybrid Soldier: But you got this Recording Session from The Dark Knight, right?

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-21 00:00:00
Well, evry time I've tryied to ask that question to MV, I got answers like "Bootlegs ? What is that anyway ? Never heard of that before !"

So it looks like an "IGNORE" policy... :P
