Richter is a conceptual artist, I love his Leftovers score, but come one, scoring to picture ?

He writes pieces that are used in scenes, not the other way around...

Richter scoring a moon buggy chase ? Hell no... lol you could see from day one it was gonna be replaced...^ Yeah the edit floating around matches Felix’s almost to a T. Only major difference is

“Our Final Stand - Showdown - United Greece - Finale”

Which is broken up into four separate cues. Realistically you could edit it anyway you want if you prefer the smaller cues. Personally, I like the long suite-like format of this release. Kinda like the album release for “Event Horizon” lol.I hope they at least release Richter's score.My Edit:

01. Rise Of An Empire - Marathon - King Darius - Artemisia - Man To God - War (13:36)
=

M1A Rise of An Empire (09:48)
M1B From Man to God King (03:44)

02. Greek Council - Persian War Plan - Spartan Fight Training - Greek Conversation - Your Commander Is Greek (10:47)
=

M2 Greek Council (03:39)
M3 Greek Conversation (07:06)

05. @mpolonest123 any idea how to break up the really long cues on the complete? it’s a lot of tracks that are made up of several cuesArtemisia Suite = History of Artemisia
Greek Action Suite = Marathon
Xerxes Rebirth Suite = From Man to God King
Greek Sacrifice Suite = ???
Artemisia’s Childhood Suite = Artemisia’s Childhood
Greek Attack Suite = Greeks on Attack
Queen Gorgo Suite = Queen Gorgo
Xerxes Thoughts Suite = Xerxes Thoughts
Greek History Suite = History of the Greeks
Greek Victory Suite = Greeks Are Winning

Hope this helps! :-)Hybrid can you tell us what album cues are the suites ?!well, from what Lorne wrote on Twitter, it should be releasedCool thanks for getting back! I am still a little bit confused though. Do any Basil Poledouris cues go somewhere in that list? It’s been a very very long time since I have seen the film.
The Hans cues used are :

1M1 OPENING CREDITS / MAIN TITLE (USED FROM 2:18 TO 3:03)
1M2 GOLDEN STAIRCASE (USED FROM 0:00 TO 1:56)
2M2 JACK SEES WOLVES
2M3 BLACK WOLF
2M6 THE TREK CONTINUES (USED FROM 0:28 TO 1:15)
3M1 THIN ICE
3M2 SKUNKER'S DEATH
3M3 FULL MOON WOLF ATTACK
3M3A MORNING WOLF ATTACK
6M4 THE BEAR
6M4A THE BEAR ATTACK
7M3 IN THE STABLE
7M5 WHITE FANG FIGHTS SATAN
8M1 FIGHT MONTAGE (FIRST HALF USED)
8M3 PIT FIGHT (FINAL 20 SEC USED)

All the rest, by definition, is Basil's score...Hey hybrid soldier! You mentioned on the ghost in the shell page about white fang so I came here! Can you give us a list of the cues as they appear in the film please? The Basil Poledouris cues and the Hans Zimmer cues pleaseI imagined it ... hopefully this time Max Ritcher does not give him a lollipop and refuses to launch his musicYes Unbreakable.

Exactly like White Fang. Have Poledouris write a score, then HZ do another, then pick what you want from both.

Ghost In The Shell was kinda different...In the credits of the movie, Max Ritcher appears as the Main Composer, meanwhile, Lorne appears as Additional Music
I find that it would be best to accredit both and launch the two soundtracks and all happy.Hybrid implies that Max Ritcher's score was rejected, and that Lorne made a new one and in the end, the best of both has been used. I am right?ANd now apparently another guy is scoring it as well lmaoTechnically he's a little under 50% used so there's no obligation. But he wrote a whole score for it.but if Lorne has written 50% of the score you should have a credit like in Ghost in the shell

@ John,

It makes more sense to homage Morricone in Pirates than you think at first!
Think about the sort of film and the scene itself where it is used under :-)

Leevi reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
I dont mind the dialogue at all :-)

fara reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
@Hybrid: after hearing at for the third time, it's ok now, but still all those dialogues... why man? why ruining it with all those dialogues. can't they just take them away? I mean when i want all those dialogues, i just record it from the dvd or blu-ray when it comes out, but having the score with dialogues is sh!t. =(

The themes are great. It is a bit a mix between Pirates and Sherlock holmes.

But once again someone decided to leave all the great bombastic action music out of the soundtrack and replaced it with stupid songs and dialogues.

I hope Hans will include most of the action music on the POTC4 soundtrack instead of 10 reprises of the main themes...

Tim reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
alright! just got the score, finally! I'm pretty curious about this "dialouge sucks" kinda issue ;)

Leevi reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
I agree that it sounds like a mix of Pirates, Sherlock and Broken Arrow.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
quite a lot

it sucks

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
Man, how much dialogue is on this?

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
I'm liking everyone's reviews of it so far. Downloading it right now, hope I like it!

Rango Suite is amazing!!!!!!!

Prott reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
It`s good, but I have a feeling there is a lot of unreleased material (maybe most of the action stuff?).

Rango Returns is great ... like a evolved version of Paralay mixed with Broken Arrow (aka "Man with the Harmonica" on steroids :) ).

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
Okay. First listen. Mixed feelings, I had high hopes for this after hearing the brilliant theme in the clip (the track We Ride, Really! There wasn't enough of this theme at all.

I like Hans' main theme, but the random Morricone references that crop up here and there just seem a little bit awkward at times. I always knew there were gonna be Morricone references in a film like this, and they're good but somethings a bit off. I think the problem is that a lot of the tracks are so short.

Overall it's a good score, some really great cues like The Sunset Shot. Too short, a bit like Megamind. The last really well-presented Hans album was Inception and that seems so long ago. Looking forward to POTC.

Yeah Rango Returns was bizarre - in a good way!

Starts off a bit like Inception, then turns into Parlay, then turns into Once Upon a time in the west!

One thing I noticed, is that Hans didn't surprise me this time. He always comes up with a score I could never imagine (especially Sherlock Holmes, Batman Begins, and POTC) But this time it's exactly what I guessed it would be (salsa trumpets, spanish guitars, and a good dose of Ennio!!)

Bats is hilarious musically :D

" We ride, really" Is amazing. it features the theme from "Rango's song".

I don't know if this one is By Zimmer, Since I think his themes are the ones in the suite.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
Simply Fantastic.

Enrico reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
Good soundtrack. Small tracks and citiation needed for Ennio.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-20 00:00:00
yeah We ride really is great. I think that theme was probably not written by Zimmer, but it's a great arrangement of the Los Lobos song.

fara reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-19 00:00:00
ok heard now the complete soundtrack, and i have to say, I'm dissappointed.
had maybe high hopes, but this one here is a not that good.

i also hated that there were so many voices in there which tells the story of rango.
it does get on my nerves really. I want to hear to the music and not the discussions and stories about rango <.<

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-19 00:00:00
I actually thought the CD was really fun and very well made...

And the music is great, catchy themes, good action stuff... :D

Now let's just hope not TOO many great cues are missing from it when watching the film ! :S

Zimmerito reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-19 00:00:00
I think the same, Hybrid!!!

I think it's a much better cd than megamind.

Clip from the movie with GREAT music!! Hans is back!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-15 00:00:00
wow!!!! That was just awesome. I love the theme, it's from the los lobos song but I'm guessing hans wrote it, as los lobos were brought in to perform the song when hans and the team couldn't make it sound authentic? Great theme, and great arrangement in that clip. Bring it on!!!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-15 00:00:00
I agree. If Hans wrote that tune, I would say it's the best melody he's written since kung fu panda.

Enrico reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-15 00:00:00
Was that tune written by Zimmer or by Los Lobos?

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-15 00:00:00
that's the big question. Maybe we'll never know?
