What was Hansí role in the treatment of Mantovaniís ďCharmaineĒ. It sounds like the original, but cleaner, clearer, & without the limitations of 50/60ís recording technology. Iíve been fascinated by this piece for 25+ years, as it seems almost a precursor to Jarre & even Zimmerís electronic music, while being entirely orchestral. Links to info appreciated.@Scorefan: You know what "Motion" means right? Motion picture = moving picture = movie. U either call it "Original Movie Score" or "Original Score from the Movie" or u call it "Original Motion Picture Score". But u can't say "Movie Picture" lol. Its just wrong or like Macejko said.. "a retarded mistake" ;-)@Maho: Dude I know why its stated "Score", but thats NOT the issue. What I'm talking about here is "Movie" which should be called "Motion".If you are interested, here is an interview with Otomo https://www.japantimes.co.jp /culture/2004/07/14/ films/film-reviews /the-master-behind-the-otaku/#.Xiix-P4zbctI like to make you in positive way aware of that "Time" has been blended with Charlie Chaplin's message to humanity (The Great Dictator) and thoughful added images in a video on youtube. If it is blocked due to disturbing pictures, please use a proxy to see it.
But there is still a chances. Steve was suggested to Otomo by music supervisor Keiichi Momose and in an interview Katsuhiro mention that he really liked Jablonsky's work on Steamboy.

So, we may hope that Keiichi Momose will work on Orbital Era or Otomo rememberes Steve's music for Steamboy. Time will tell.To be honest it's just my thoughts. But what are the chances that Otomo will choose Steve for his new work after really long brake (almost 15 years)?I would love for another animated score from Steve. Why is it almost impossible for him to score for Katsuhiro Otomo out of curiosity?I just saw this, EXTREMELY HAPPY!!!! he's so dope and talented apparently he's already done a few tracks cause the actor lewis tan sais he liked what he already heard.He is scoring to Mortal Kombat reboot movie, I saw that news from film music reporter, but mortal Kombat 1995 score was my favorite score.
@Evenstar Original Movie Picture Score? lul. Usually it's called Motion Picture but ok.

No not always. I have a lot of scores where it is on the front of the booklet. Especially when an album with songs was released. So that the laypersons don't get confused, but still always manage not to look through, you can see on Amazon.Mark Mancinas Score for the First - Good!
Trevor Rabin for the second - Fantastic Great Action Score I LOVE IT! Steve Jablonsky work too on it! The Dr. Dre Music in this too..

Lorne Balfe to the third - meeehhh buuuuhhh!!
======================

I agree about the first two scores. They're very different but equally as good. I know that some people are critical of the BB2 score (because it basically ignores the BB1 sound) but I love it. I think Rabin and Jablonsky did an amazing job.

As for Lorne' score.....I have to disagree. I think it's great. Granted, my opinion is based only on what I heard in the movie (haven't heard the entire album) but I really like what he did. Clearly it was done with love. I mean, the Bad Boys 1 score is one of the reasons why Lorne became a film composer. So the BB3 score wasn't a "rush job". He clearly put an effort to it. I'm looking forward to the entire album.Comes out this Friday :)Still hope that Katsuhiro Otomo will reunites with Steve for his new anime, even if it's almost impossible.Mark Mancinas Score for the First - Good!
Trevor Rabin for the second - Fantastic Great Action Score I LOVE IT! Steve Jablonsky work too on it! The Dr. Dre Music in this too..

Lorne Balfe to the third - meeehhh buuuuhhh!!!
When does this come out? I can't find it anywhere online. And if it has already come out, does anyone know where it's available?Just saw the trailer...Ö

Not exactly an epic movie but I'm still quite excited for Steve's music. Deepwater Horizon contained some pretty cool cues so I'm definitely in for another Berg/Jablonsky collaboration.Iím assuming the first track is the end credits sequence? Lorne confirmed the end credits are included... and they are awesome.The score is getting release by Paramount Music, in other words, digital and same day as the movie opens (31th January)Any news on if we get an album for The Rhythm Section?

Been listening to the Amazon samples and one or two tracks on YouTube--sounds absolutely amazing, better than Transformers! Unfortunately, iTunes flubbed the release a little, so those of us who download music will have to wait until it gets sorted out.

For a ridiculous movie, it ha a bitchin' score! Track 10 is one of my faves!

Kill-Trophy And the Warrior's Birth is truly truly GREAT!

It's Amazing! Let Us Quest have a great epic theme! Isabel the Strong is very beautiful and pretty cool.
The Action Themes are amazing too and the Thadeous theme is similar to Jack Sparrow from Hans Zimmer but this score is original and epic Soundtrack.
Steve Jablonsky!

Very enjoyable score indeed.

To the anonymous hater who says "Jablonsky really is poor." I think you better stick to listening to Barry Manilow music. Steve Jablonsky is one of the best film composers in the industry. Without Hans' most epic music, there would be no Steve. Don't hate... appreciate.

The more I listen to this score, the more I love it! Tracks 1, 2, 7 and 18 are awesome IMO. What are some of your favorite tracks everyone?

Hale reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-03 00:00:00
Objectively, we must say that this is not the best score from RC composer. But it's fresh, funny and sometimes epic! I wait to watch the movie for a true analysis.

I'm in love with the middle of track 10, epic theme with synth

Haha ok. That's very interesting. Now I do know it's legit.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-02 00:00:00
Well it's not "me" not wanting that... But let's say I can just confirm Lz's not lying... ;)

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-02 00:00:00
@Lz,

I would ask you for the tracklist just to prove it to me, but it seems Hyrbid doesn't want you to, which is fine. I will try and search for it and if I find it, then I'll believe you. But until then, anyone can say they have a complete score for a film that has yet to be released.

Lz reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-02 00:00:00
@Hybrid Soldier
Don't worry, i won't post any more details ;)

Just listened to the first two tracks. Not impressed at all. Utterly boring themes. Jablonsky really is poor.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-02 00:00:00
Lz I don't know if you've been authorized to mention it... ;) :P

Lz reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-02 00:00:00
@Dakota
Because i have it. 52 Tracks total. Its funny to see that jablonsky also made a new version of the "universal" logo intro. It sounds funny :D

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-31 00:00:00
@Lz

And how would you know this when it the Soundtrack hasn't even been released commercially yet, and the film isn't out for another 9 days?

T-Mann036 reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-31 00:00:00
Yesterday, I had listened to Steve Jablonsky's score of Your Highness. Although it's not an official release yet, but I was deeply impressed. This is ultimately one of the best scores he had composed since Transformers 2, The Island, and Gears of War 2. Not bad for Hans' former pupil.

100/100

Good score. I very much enjoyed your breakdown, Hale. Spot on. The score is basically a combination of Pirates, Shrek and The Rock. Steve Jablonsky could have done a bit better but I'm pretty satisfied with what he's offered us.

I believe vocals are by Lisbeth Scott

Jack reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-30 00:00:00
Sounds interesting... bit more like geoff's style in some parts... then there's a hint of "jack sparrow" especially in tracks 3 & 24.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-30 00:00:00
This is awesome!!!! This is a totally new Steve to me, unlike any of his other works I have. I highly recommend it!!!

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-30 00:00:00
It's kind of fun Lutz mentioned track 1, 2 & 24, as they are not... actual cues from the film, but the 3 themes suites of the score... ;)

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-30 00:00:00
This is one of the best scores of 2011. Very entertaining to listen to.

Glad to see that steve included 60 minutes of music on the disk instead of the 40 minutes that he did with the whole Transformers 2 debacle...

Hale reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-30 00:00:00
Good score from Jablonsky but always the same problem : he has good ideas (maint theme in a drama-epic style with choirs (lol), comedy cues) but he isn't brilliant of in action cues and developmenhis themes.

Resume :
1- Let Us Quest (mix of "Optimus Prime" and a theme from "American Outlaws" from Trevor Rabin)
2- Isabel the Strong (it seems to be a "Two Steps From Hell" composition with a voice -- not original by the way)
3- Goodbye My Tinys (mix of "Sherlock Holmes" and the theme of "Let Us Quest" in a comedy-action variation)
4- Best Man (nice heroic underscore)
5- The Greatest Most Beautifullest Love Song In All The Land (Country-style in a song with always the same "not original" voice)
6- The Virgin Is Plucked (Tension cue with a rise of choirs in the second part - Gears of Wars 2 Style)
7 - Not In My Castle (Great reprise of the main theme with "Crimson Tides" choir-style in the first part, the second part is cheap and piratish)
8- Leezar's Date, Belladonna's Hate (Atmospheric cue ...)
9 - Playful Secrets! (A cue which seems to come from "Home Alone" from John Williams)
10 - Mean Knights And Horsies O' My! (Banal action cue with a reprise of one theme from "Pearl Harbor"mixed with the cheap-synth-style of other parts of the score)
11 - Here Come The Marteetee (First part 'underscore" and second part.... isn't ES Posthumus?? or maybe a very uninspired rock cue..)
12 - A Fistful Of Snakes / 13 - Isabel Thrashes(Action tense cues, always in Gears of Wars 2 style.)
14 - Muldiss Darton, City Of Lore (Great cue in an heroic style with some pirates accents)
15 - The Same Betrayal As Before (I think it's useless --underscore)
16 - Labyrinths And Humps (One of rare long suites of the score--first part is in"Gears of Wars 2 style" and second part is very atmospheric with long pads of choirs)
17 - Kill-Trophy And The Warrior's Birth (Reprise of the main theme in epic version with repetitive rhytm -- Funny electronica style in second plan)
18 - The Effening (Horrific "useless" part)
19 - Tis I, Thadeous The Hero (We can feel the influence from Nick Glennie Smith in this sad reprise of the main theme)
20 - Heroes Unite (Isn't a Rammstein introduction?:) )
21 - Orgy Of Violence (The longest cue of the score -- good action starting, middle of the track is a very average action cue, the best are the last 2-minutes--great reprise of the themes)
22 - Til We Meet Again (Return of the "not original" voice with the idyllic theme)
23 - Way Of The Warriors (It can be a "Shrek" cue with in the second part an irish style)
24 - Thadeous (The end suite of the score--Like "Jack Sparrow" theme in the first part, very good epic (but soft) second part in a "Transformers/King Arthur" style, the end part of the track returns to the "piratish" style.

Then, an average score from Jablonsky but a good action-comedy score. I put the note of 75/100 because Jablonsky can do better than this!!
