Woah, this sounds outdated already, like a bad 90s video game. For the record, it was composed 4 years ago. This fetishization of technology over compositional technique is absolutely ridiculous.

Now, Tom has seen the errors of his ways and hired some actual orchestrators (not the RCP clown bunch) and Mortal Engines and Battle Angel Alita are actually excellent scores. They show that he masters compositional technique to the hilt. This early stuff - I suspect it will be buried soon.
Richter is a conceptual artist, I love his Leftovers score, but come one, scoring to picture ?

He writes pieces that are used in scenes, not the other way around...

Richter scoring a moon buggy chase ? Hell no... lol you could see from day one it was gonna be replaced...^ Yeah the edit floating around matches Felix’s almost to a T. Only major difference is

“Our Final Stand - Showdown - United Greece - Finale”

Which is broken up into four separate cues. Realistically you could edit it anyway you want if you prefer the smaller cues. Personally, I like the long suite-like format of this release. Kinda like the album release for “Event Horizon” lol.I hope they at least release Richter's score.My Edit:

01. Rise Of An Empire - Marathon - King Darius - Artemisia - Man To God - War (13:36)
=

M1A Rise of An Empire (09:48)
M1B From Man to God King (03:44)

02. I'm not really interested in Balfe's part of work, but it would be a big disappointment if Richter's work wouldn't released.

But I think there's a good chance that movie (and music in particular) get an Oscar nominations, so let's just hope for the best.@mpolonest123 any idea how to break up the really long cues on the complete? it’s a lot of tracks that are made up of several cuesArtemisia Suite = History of Artemisia
Greek Action Suite = Marathon
Xerxes Rebirth Suite = From Man to God King
Greek Sacrifice Suite = ???
Artemisia’s Childhood Suite = Artemisia’s Childhood
Greek Attack Suite = Greeks on Attack
Queen Gorgo Suite = Queen Gorgo
Xerxes Thoughts Suite = Xerxes Thoughts
Greek History Suite = History of the Greeks
Greek Victory Suite = Greeks Are Winning

Hope this helps! :-)Hybrid can you tell us what album cues are the suites ?!well, from what Lorne wrote on Twitter, it should be released
Cool thanks for getting back! I am still a little bit confused though. Do any Basil Poledouris cues go somewhere in that list? It’s been a very very long time since I have seen the film.The Hans cues used are :

1M1 OPENING CREDITS / MAIN TITLE (USED FROM 2:18 TO 3:03)
1M2 GOLDEN STAIRCASE (USED FROM 0:00 TO 1:56)
2M2 JACK SEES WOLVES
2M3 BLACK WOLF
2M6 THE TREK CONTINUES (USED FROM 0:28 TO 1:15)
3M1 THIN ICE
3M2 SKUNKER'S DEATH
3M3 FULL MOON WOLF ATTACK
3M3A MORNING WOLF ATTACK
6M4 THE BEAR
6M4A THE BEAR ATTACK
7M3 IN THE STABLE
7M5 WHITE FANG FIGHTS SATAN
8M1 FIGHT MONTAGE (FIRST HALF USED)
8M3 PIT FIGHT (FINAL 20 SEC USED)

All the rest, by definition, is Basil's score...Hey hybrid soldier! You mentioned on the ghost in the shell page about white fang so I came here! Can you give us a list of the cues as they appear in the film please? The Basil Poledouris cues and the Hans Zimmer cues pleaseI imagined it ... hopefully this time Max Ritcher does not give him a lollipop and refuses to launch his musicYes Unbreakable.

Exactly like White Fang. Have Poledouris write a score, then HZ do another, then pick what you want from both.

Ghost In The Shell was kinda different...
In the credits of the movie, Max Ritcher appears as the Main Composer, meanwhile, Lorne appears as Additional MusicI find that it would be best to accredit both and launch the two soundtracks and all happy.Hybrid implies that Max Ritcher's score was rejected, and that Lorne made a new one and in the end, the best of both has been used. I am right?ANd now apparently another guy is scoring it as well lmaoTechnically he's a little under 50% used so there's no obligation. But he wrote a whole score for it.

To be fair, here's my breakdown (may or may not be accurate but Im going by the titles alone)
1. Guilty of Not Being Jack Sparrow (Hans Zimmer) - sounds like the London cue, to me....

2. Angelica Featuring Rodrigo y Gabriela (Hans Zimmer, Eduardo Cruz, Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero) - obviously angelica's theme suite, is my guess

3. The Pirate That Should Not Be (Rodrigo Sanchez, Gabriela Quintero and Hans Zimmer) - maybe a reference to our buddy Barbossa and his theme in the flick.

4. On Stranger Tides (Hans Zimmer, Geoff Zanelli and Eric Whitacre) - probably the main theme of the flick, or the "fountain theme".

5. Palm Tree Escape Featuring Rodrigo y Gabriela (Hans Zimmer) - andim referencing Dead Man's Chest here, this is probably a cue not unlike the Bone Cages cue from that OSt...probably an action short.

6. Angry and Dead Again (Rodrigo Sanchez, Gabriela Quintero and Hans Zimmer) - sounds like an action cue based on the zombies (however they figure into this movie)

7. Blackbeard (Hans Zimmer) - his suite (I'm thinking ala Davey Jones' suite)

8. Mermaids (Hans Zimmer and Eric Whitacre) - same as above, maybe just an action cue representative of the mermaids.

9. South of Heaven’s Chanting Mermaids (Rodrigo Sanchez, Gabriela Quintero and Hans Zimmer) - again, referencing "DMC" - "final battle cue", like "Wheel of Fortune"

10. Mutiny (Hans Zimmer) - again, like the DMC end pieces for "Hello, Beastie", i'm thinking...

11. End Credits (Hans Zimmer) hey at least Zimmer was nice enough to give us the end credits piece, for once, although I dont know why...

and there you have it. Thats my take anyway...

please no more remixes....

Adrian reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
@ Sean:

Trance remixes with film music destroys the listening experience of the CD.
Plus, generally, a remix is: taking something good and making something bad of it...

all the other pirates scores had decent releases

I just saw that the German Amazon (amazon.de) added a track list identical to the 15 tracks version that Film Music Reporter posted, so there might be different international versions of the soundtrack.

darkknight reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
i think that their will be a special edition because on amazon.de there's an edition with the character at 14.99 and an edition with the skull at 24.99

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
The pricier ones are "imports"; i.e. they are likely subject to taxes, etc, hence the higher price tags.

Jones reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
geeze, I'm all for more versions of a score, but this is getting recuclious! :p

Phil B reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
@darkknight

have you also seen that one which costs 35,99 € ??

Sean reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
I honestly don't think that the extra 4 songs on the soundtrack will be bad. Just because the extra song on Pirates 2's soundtrack, was somewhat annoying and/or bad to listen to, does not mean the the 4 extra songs on Pirates 4's sound track wil be just as annoying and/or bad as the one on Pirates 2's soundtrack. Give the soundtrack a chance to come out, and then buy it and then decide from there after buying it, if the 4 songs on Pirates 4's soundtrack are bad and/or annoying. For all we might know, the 4 extra songs on the soundtrack, might be some really good little catchy songs that are fun to listen to !.

It's true that CD have limited space... Sorry for what I said!

It's crazy, the album is released next month and we already want an expanded score :D

Zimmerito reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
I guess it will be the typal Wall Disney realease. I mean like Tarzan or The Lion King :P

Ds reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
Please stop complaining about remixes! You can always delete the tracks :)

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
I complain cause it just means 20 of the CD will be lost in total nonsense !

Zimmerito reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
I agree with you Hybrid. And I can't think a Dj or people who like dance remixes buying this score for that tracks. So why? Better hope long zimmer tracks. But I don't think so.

Adrian reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
@ Ds,

Not when you have the CD!
Plus, as Hybrid said, 20 minutes of nonsense we don't want to have.
Disney won't do 60 minutes score + 20 minutes crap. So there's less space left for good stuff.
See the problem?

Zimmerito reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
Adrian, Disney makes 60 minutes cd's. 40 minutes of score and 20 of remixes. as they did in Treasure soundtrack collection. And I enjoyed the remixes there, but only because we had 100 minutes of score!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
I sure hope that "Mutiny" scene is better than "Hello Beastie". Would be fun if it involves a mutiny conducted by Barbossa and Sparrow to take over one of those British ships and flee. Or maybe some madness aboard Blackbeard's ship... But please, no more crazy, sad, cliffhanger finale...

Andrew reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00
Sorry to break it to you guys, but the tracklisting on FilmMusicReporter is incomplete. There are MORE remixes on the CD:

Make sure you remove the spaces from the above.

:( damn......

In France we have the German cover too. It must be the definitive version in my opinion

TRON reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-19 00:00:00
so wait is it really true lorne isn't on here cause he's producing an expanded release of inception? :D

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-19 00:00:00
I am not quite sure how the German cover is any better. I have just checked the links below and I see a similar cover as in here.

Sean reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-18 00:00:00
@Ds
Thank you for the website link.

Sean reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-18 00:00:00
@Adrian
Thanks. I found it, and i like both covers of the soundtrack, so even if the one i buy is the one with the skull, it's okay because a diffferent soundtrack cover is nice to see for a change :) .

Adrian reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-18 00:00:00
If it doesn't work, just search for it on amazon.de!

Complete links (with www.) are not possible here.

I agree too, the German version is a lot better... This skull is boring!
