u ask "is it from the sessions?" and you know thats rips whith sfx? :D hahah. made my dayI think we were all clear that both Snyder and Tom intended to use material from Hans. I don’t think he’s writing new music, but I do think Tom will use a lot of Hans.Is it true that Hans Zimmer is working on the Snyder Cut? That would be spectacular!Lol it’s probably low quality rips from the filmwhaaat? the complete score?? where??
where did you find it? what is it called on youtube?i found a complete album on YouTube, but the audio quality is not good as I thought. Is it from the recording session? Where can I find a high quality audio of this album to listen?just going to leave this here: el matador del mar, a great character, killed so easily because sparrow needed to be the great hero.

i disapprove, long life salazar!!What is the name of the song playing when Maggie leaves it’s beautiful and haunting. The music from this movie is sheer genius a mix of heavy metal, jazz, and rock and roll! Awesome...!Yes! Finally someone else who has heard it to! I am a HUGE fan of both trilogy's, do you like POTC?
R.I.P. to Ennio Morricone, dead at 91.

For those who aren’t as familiar with his material, check out Once Upon a Time in the West, easily one of the greatest scores of the past century. You can definitely hear where Zimmer took inspiration from, for Pirates/Lone Ranger/Sherlock/Rango/etc.

“Parlay” is such a love letter to the main tune from OUATITW...it‘s unreleased...@hybrid soldier
Where can i hear the songs you have listed out? I can't find it on YouTubeLooks like Zimmer's abandoned Z+. It only worked on one iOS system, then because it wasn't recompiled for the next system wouldn't decode the music you paid for. Locking your purchases into an app was a VERY BAD idea. Now there's nothing out there that's as good at providing a great surround sound experience for headphones.So Lorne's mp3 uploads. Would anyone class that as an 'official' release of the music from the movie?
Currently watching this movie the first time ^^ ... and then... suddenly a music motive spontaneously pops up. Sound exactly like a little part from Armageddon "Secondary Protocol" - really cool :) love the music in this movie. Very intense.I don't mean to pile on but do you really think that Hans touring is the only obstacle to a CD release of a completely forgotten 12-year-old film and score by a different composer?And why would Hans' tours be responsible for the fact that many albums these days don't get a physical release? While at the same time those tours even got an LP release... lolYou are aware that there's a pandemic going on right now, right?I'm pretty sure that neither did he.

This Soundtrack should be way more popular. It's so good! It's probably because they movie sucked so bad.

Yeah this one tends to get lost in the shuffle. A shame, it's an absolutely wonderful score.

Maybe James Newton Howard is on it, due to the fact that direcor Tony Gilroy worked with him on all his previous projects.

Who is the composer of Upcoming Bourne film?

John reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-08 00:00:00
Alan Silvestri is doing Captain America. It's been confirmed on his Facebook page.

And thank God Powell didn't do The Smurfs! He has had enough bad films on his resume, he doesn't need new ones....

I heard that John Powell was busy with the 5 Soundtracks that he had been asked to do. For that reason it has not done either Wiinie the Pooh, the Smurfs or Captain America.
Disney and DreamWorks are now struggling to John Powell.!!

@ *the nameless guy*:
really?! neither imdb nor giacchino's official page confirms that. well, there isn't any composer confirmed, yet. I would be as delighted if Giacchino score it as Powell would, anyway :)

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-07 00:00:00
Torque, it's neither Powell or Silvestri. Michael Giacchino will score Captain America.

I just found this track on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCh536cpv8E

I think that was a combination of Mars Needs moms and mars needs moms credits suite. Well,although i love the main theme( you done it again powell !!), but there are still many similarities from Powell' other soundtracks that i can found.( Buck winning theme in Ice age 3( this theme can be heard clearly), Some theme from HTTYD, and Ice age 3 credits theme itself). But, still good though.

Torque reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-04 00:00:00
Andrew, Alan Silvestri will score Captain america, not Powell.

King Powell!

From the sample, i can conclude that:

-Abduction/trashworld: sounded like Paycheck, Bolt, Hancock, and The bourne soundtrack.
-Enjoy the ride: sounded like a piece from ice age 3, when Buck saved Sid from lava fall.
-Mars needs moms: abstract, can't be defined.
-Gribble's plan: sounded like antz( that whistle part), paycheck, and bolt.
-Milo escapes: sounded exciting, but still has a paycheck theme in it.
-Gribble's plan: abstract, but touching.
-To the surface: Sounded like HTTYD, very much, with a little improvement in it, before it turned into that Paycheck-ish action track.
-to the sacrifice: well, good enough
-transformation: original, well done.
-mars needs moms credits suite: The best of them all. I think this is the main theme.
-martian mambo: sounded like that sid-clan song from ice age 2.

No, powell. You started to act like zimmer. But, still good nonetheless. i hope you can do better on Rio.
But, you're still the man.

CD FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Aldan

The reason why it sounds similar to other Powell stuff its because this is a replacement score. Originally, Hans Zimmer was going to score the movie and he left or was rejected, so they brought in John. And I imagine that with the rush they tracked the movie with previous Powell music.

However, the quality of the orchestra sounds amazing. Can't wait!

Prott reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-01 00:00:00
John: Hans.. rejected? No way! :-)
It was announced (John Powell scoring this) a long time ago (more than half a year).

Andrew reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-01 00:00:00
I don't think Zimmer was rejected. He probably felt that this film is too similar in its musical needs to Megamind. He probably passed it to Powell.

And regarding the similar motifs. I think there is only so much innovation you can come up with, once you score a fair amount of movies of the same genre.

I cannot help but wonder what Powell would have done for a concept like Captain America...

Only for digital download... no Cd for this one, right dudes??

John reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-28 00:00:00
The samples sound extremly good, particularly the string writing. However, I'm hearing too close similiarities to Hancock, Dragon and Ice Age 2.

Despite that, it sounds very very promising!
