Just noticed on soundtrack.net that there's going to be a new best of Hans Zimmer performed by this orchestra with 6 cds of music. Release date is currently set on July 28th. §soundtrack.net/album/the-music-of-hans-zimmer-the-definitiv e-collection/
Is there any information yet, if RCP is going to do the Warcraft movie? Release date is currently March 2016.

I don't see why it would be RCP. Duncan Jones has worked with Clint Mansell and Chris Bacon before; the latter's score for Source Code is actually quite good, and it would be pretty cool if he got the gig. I'd also be more than happy to see one or more composers from Blizzard's team do the movie as well; maybe not five or six of them like there is on the games, but say Russell Brower and maybe one other guy. That would be cool.

This movie will be fundamentally different from Moon and Source Code, so it wouldn't surprise me, if they also hire a new composer. I'm fairly sure that the WoW-composers or at least Russel Brower will be somehow involved, but since they never scored such a big-budget movie it's unlikely that they will do it alone.
When do you think will they announce the composer(s)?

Still no reason why it should be a RCP composer. There are other composers you know :P
As for the announcement, it varies per film. Still waiting to find out who will score Ridley Scott's Exodus and Michael Mann's Cyber (although that one is rumored to be scores by Atticus Ross or someone from RCP)

I'd love if Harry Gregson Williams reunited with Ridley for Exodus. His work on Kingdom of Heaven was very rich and in my opinion a masterpiece. Correct me if I'm wrong but it didn't go down well with Harry as his music was replaced by other works to some extent. Scott's recent partnership with Streitenfeld is uneven and sub par considering the scores to his previous films like KOH, Gladiator, Matchstick Men, etc.

Alberto Iglesias will score Exodus... For tax reason... lol

Really, Iglesias? That would be a very unusual choice, even for tax reasons. Also any idea than who'll score Cyber?

That same tax reason is why Lucas Vidal scored the most recent Fast and Furious movie, or why Federico Jusid was originally going to do 300: Rise of an Empire...there's some law that makes it much cheaper for movies shot in Spain to use as many Spanish crew members as possible. I'm guessing this is something similar.
Very interesting and weird pick though. Iglesias is a pretty low-key and experimental type of composer, which strikes me kind of as the exact opposite of what you would want for a big biblical movie like this. Not sure what to think. :|

Has Iglesias done something as big as Exodus previously?

unusual choice but I think he'll do great, unless Scott butchers it.

Mike real quick do you know if there is a way for the songs on the TDKR app to be transferred to mp3. or has it been do cause if that's the case then technically you could have the whole TDKR score.

You can simply play them whilst running a lead from your iPhone headphone socket to the line-in on your sound card and recording the input signal. Quite simple.

well I know that but the recordings aren't that good I want it to sound like the actual soundtrack recordings.

Then hack into RCP and get the music. There is no way you can make music like this sounds like album masters from a studio!

No I'm talking the tracks, and asking if it is possible to turn them into mp3. Cause in theory it should be possible. but I don't know. If you get what I'm saying.

Oh my gosh! Dr. Zimmer has made the best music ever! Every time I watch a movie, and I see his name in the credits, I get really excited! I hope to be in your band one day! :D I hope you need a Clarinet player! :D
Oh! By the way, I memorized every bit of music on the soundtrack of Pirates of the Caribbean!!! 1,2,3! Soon to be 4! Pure genius! I love you!!! Hello from Tennessee!
I think Hans Zimmer is the best composer in the world , his work is pure clasic and beautiful. For me his greatest OST's are from: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , Gladiator , Angels and Demons , Pirates Of The Caribbean. Love you Hans Zimmer , keep up the good work , Greetings from Romania
After All!... he is a great composer, not only becose the enormous number of works, but for the quality. Maybe its becose the fact of having some times similar parts between musics that made his original style very its own. My favourite H.Zimmer's OST's: Gladiator, Davinci Code, Pearl Harbour, Angels and Demons. I can see his music in many great classical composers works.
to me, hans zimmer is not one of the best composers of today, but it is indeed one of the most prolific, and has a extremely high number of works, wich only few I consider totally classical, and are theese wich I apreciate more. I like the music but are all, ... very similar, and has score notes that are very muiscal but always the same. Gladiator has parts almost identical to Gustave Holst's suite "the Planets" in the 1st mov. Mars, the bringer of war, and then appears again in "pirates of the caribbean", i think. The music could be more orchestrated, and have a orchestra.
Hans Zimmer, is really wonderful your job that you do. Makes me dream, makes me cry. I love it your job, congratulations!!, I really love this music !!!!!!, I´m Argentina, and always I listen this music, I cry, and I always see the movie "Holiday" so I thank for this present, it´s perfect!! Bye!!
Hans Zimmer. you make the best musik. period. your musik give me goosbumps. and i relly liked your new game musik on Crysis 2. the sounds make the game complete. thumbs upp and im looking forwerd for more of your lovely tunes :D
I now have more HZ albums than any other. Been replaying Inception every day (quietly) in the office and then usually a blast at home at the weekend. Haven't even seen the film. When's the next Dan Browne soundtrack coming (assuming Sony are making another one)?
Having just seen the playlist for the greatest hits am now going to go and try and buy it.
