There wasn't really any hype for the movie, it didn't seem like people were all that interested in a Han Solo origin story. Plus it's only been half a year since Last Jedi came out and broke the internet. Unlike Marvel, Star Wars doesn't seem immune to franchise fatigue.<br><br>A shame. Hope nobody is stupid enough to think Powell was to blame.Hi guys. Dose anybody know why solo faild in box office ?Search for "filmtracks".Sorry, just found it.Tried that, couldn't find an author named Clemmensen who reviewed it. (I don't know where to look I haven't seen this guy's reviews before).
Should be easy to find with google...Seriously guys, what site is he on? I want to see this review, but I don't know where it is.I know woodwinds, with few exception, have been completely abandoned by RCP, but man would it be nice if Steve fit woodwinds into the small scale family scenes. He's great with them, but for whatever reason he doesn't seem to be able to use them unless it's an animation, The Sims or IDEA specifically, or fantasy (even then The Last Witch Hunter had no woodwinds). They add so much to the soundscape and make any score so much richer. <br><br>I'm listening to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy again currently, and god, they'd be nothing without all of those flutes and clarinets. Even when the main instrument is brass or string, the addition of woodwinds is so cleverly implemented by Shore, and they not only blend, but they actively enhance the sound. <br><br>Of course I'd also love Steve to continue using choir. He even seems to be getting better with it, with Transformers 5's use of it resembling the Halo franchise in a number of ways. It would be a wonderful surprise though if he went back to woodwinds eventually. I'm definitely not of the belief that they can't be used in a modern day setting either (Silence of the Lambs and the Spider-Man scores use them particularly well).Steve is a very accommodating composer. So it's really up to the director's vision. With Bay, you know you gonna hear some of the best stuff Steve has to offer and that's because they share the same "musical ear".<br><br>When he's scoring Peter Berg movies, Steve often relies on sound design and his scores for those movies are not really melodic. The few exceptions aside, Berg likes sound design scores. And he likes to experiment A LOT (example: the MRI machine sound that was incorporated in the Battleship score. Bold choice!).<br><br>Where does the director of Skyscraper stand in all of this?<br><br>Personally, I think this score will be "in the middle". Little sound design there, little melodic cue over here.... : ) I don't expect power anthems, simply because - as big as the movie is - it's not "Michael Bay big". I do hope for a little choir work though. Steve is great with choir.The Solo review does look quite good.<br><br>Clemmensen comes across pretty badly in many of his reviews. Even some of the positive ones. He has some very strong preconceptions about certain things that sometimes lead him to say some reasonably aggravating stuff.<br><br>Interestingly, he stays almost reasonable in his A World's End review. I wouldn't point to that one as his most typical negative review.
Additional information<br>Posted date 2016<br><br>but, It was sold for two years.<br><br>Hello Hans.<br><br>May i ask you a question?<br><br>The piano sheet is now on sale, so that your music is now in the market for commercial purposes. It is sold at $ 10, although I do not know whether or not the seller arranged the piano music directly. Please check with us for the availability of other music.<br><br>Please refer to this site: htta://www.yes24.com/24/goods/28085649<br><br>(South Korea book store.)<br><br>Book Introduction :<br>It is the piano music which made the best 22 songs. New Age, movies, games, animations, etc., can be seen in various genres, and each sheet of music is directly attached to the author's QR code video.<br><br>If there is no problem, please respond.<br><br>Have a good day.He’s definitely not a bad reviewer, and his writing style is pretty sharp. The obvious problem is that he has a strong bias against Zimmer. Most of his recent Zimmer reviews are less spent talking about themes and more so the “issues” with his current style.'At World's End' is possibly one of his greatest 'missteps' for sure, but he is a mostly reasonable guy when reviewing, and simply has a taste that doesn't accomodate a lot of the more modern sounding scores, which I think is ok, since we all have our preferences. His 'Solo' review is a must read for any fan of the score though. :DIf you want to understand why he's persona non grata, just go and check out his review of Hans Zimmer's masterpiece At World's End, it sums up pretty nicely the guy's mental issues :p<br><br>But his other reviews are mostly OK and that Solo one is indeed very good, worth a read.
Who is he and why is he a persona non grata? ô_OHow dare you mention his name ??<br><br>I should erase that post... :PWhat site are his reviews on again? Not really sure where to look.As long as Steve knows to keep this score mostly melodic with little to no sound design, I'll probably be happy with it.I assume that's the official cover....<br><br>I dig it. Very Die Hard-y : )

Is there any information yet, if RCP is going to do the Warcraft movie? Release date is currently March 2016.

Edmund Meinerts2014-05-13 22:41:03
I don't see why it would be RCP. Duncan Jones has worked with Clint Mansell and Chris Bacon before; the latter's score for Source Code is actually quite good, and it would be pretty cool if he got the gig. I'd also be more than happy to see one or more composers from Blizzard's team do the movie as well; maybe not five or six of them like there is on the games, but say Russell Brower and maybe one other guy. That would be cool.

Zimson2014-05-14 08:16:00
This movie will be fundamentally different from Moon and Source Code, so it wouldn't surprise me, if they also hire a new composer. I'm fairly sure that the WoW-composers or at least Russel Brower will be somehow involved, but since they never scored such a big-budget movie it's unlikely that they will do it alone.

When do you think will they announce the composer(s)?

trent easton navarro2014-05-14 14:32:02
Still no reason why it should be a RCP composer. There are other composers you know :P

As for the announcement, it varies per film. Still waiting to find out who will score Ridley Scott's Exodus and Michael Mann's Cyber (although that one is rumored to be scores by Atticus Ross or someone from RCP)

Saurabh2014-05-14 17:59:35
I'd love if Harry Gregson Williams reunited with Ridley for Exodus. His work on Kingdom of Heaven was very rich and in my opinion a masterpiece. Correct me if I'm wrong but it didn't go down well with Harry as his music was replaced by other works to some extent. Scott's recent partnership with Streitenfeld is uneven and sub par considering the scores to his previous films like KOH, Gladiator, Matchstick Men, etc.

Hybrid Soldier2014-05-14 18:57:52
Alberto Iglesias will score Exodus... For tax reason... lol

trent easton navarro2014-05-14 21:45:15
Really, Iglesias? That would be a very unusual choice, even for tax reasons. Also any idea than who'll score Cyber?

Edmund Meinerts2014-05-14 22:12:31
That same tax reason is why Lucas Vidal scored the most recent Fast and Furious movie, or why Federico Jusid was originally going to do 300: Rise of an Empire...there's some law that makes it much cheaper for movies shot in Spain to use as many Spanish crew members as possible. I'm guessing this is something similar.

Very interesting and weird pick though. Iglesias is a pretty low-key and experimental type of composer, which strikes me kind of as the exact opposite of what you would want for a big biblical movie like this. Not sure what to think. :|

Saurabh2014-05-14 22:17:28
Has Iglesias done something as big as Exodus previously?

0-cool2014-06-26 10:41:03
unusual choice but I think he'll do great, unless Scott butchers it.

Wait Zimmer did the trailer music for Transformers 3

Mike2013-09-26 20:04:40
What prompts that question?

MacArthur2013-09-26 21:16:41
The Guy Below Said that he did the trailer music. and I didn't know that

MacArthur2013-09-26 21:29:54
Mike real quick do you know if there is a way for the songs on the TDKR app to be transferred to mp3. or has it been do cause if that's the case then technically you could have the whole TDKR score.

Mike2013-09-27 01:15:27
If I knew of a way, I'd have those suites by now...lol

Anonymous2013-09-27 01:53:19
You can simply play them whilst running a lead from your iPhone headphone socket to the line-in on your sound card and recording the input signal. Quite simple.

MacArthur2013-09-27 03:13:09
well I know that but the recordings aren't that good I want it to sound like the actual soundtrack recordings.

Anonymous2013-09-27 05:18:11
Then hack into RCP and get the music. There is no way you can make music like this sounds like album masters from a studio!

MacArthur2013-09-27 05:55:14
No I'm talking the tracks, and asking if it is possible to turn them into mp3. Cause in theory it should be possible. but I don't know. If you get what I'm saying.

I think Hans Zimmer is the best composer in the world , his work is pure clasic and beautiful.For me his greatest OST's are from: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , Gladiator , Angels and Demons , Pirates Of The Caribbean. Love you Hans Zimmer , keep up the good work , Greetings from Romania

Rui Lima reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-28 21:59:35
After All!... he is a great composer, not only becose the enormous number of works, but for the quality. Maybe its becose the fact of having some times similar parts between musics that made his original style very its own.
My favourite H.Zimmer's OST's: Gladiator, Davinci Code, Pearl Harbour, Angels and Demons.
I can see his music in many great classical composers works.

Rui Lima reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-25 12:06:56
to me, hans zimmer is not one of the best composers of today, but it is indeed one of the most prolific, and has a extremely high number of works, wich only few I consider totally classical, and are theese wich I apreciate more.
I like the music but are all, ... very similar, and has score notes that are very muiscal but always the same.
Gladiator has parts almost identical to Gustave Holst's suite "the Planets" in the 1st mov. Mars, the bringer of war, and then appears again in "pirates of the caribbean", i think.
The music could be more orchestrated, and have a orchestra.

A fan. reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-20 00:00:00

I now have more HZ albums than any other. Been replaying Inception every day (quietly) in the office and then usually a blast at home at the weekend. Haven't even seen the film.
When's the next Dan Browne soundtrack coming (assuming Sony are making another one)?

Having just seen the playlist for the greatest hits am now going to go and try and buy it.

Brilliant work.

Thanks
