Good question. I honestly get the sense this largely scored to picture, given how varied the cues are, plus the fact Hans did the Day of the Dead and Tuesday cues alone.

The Batman Suite itself almost sounds like it was done after the score itself was composed, but I could definitely be wrong about that.

By the way, pretty fucking cool Hans did all (six?) of the themes on this. IMO that goes a long way to show he can still do really solid thematic work when he wants to.So, any confirmation of who actually did what on this score?

It's one of my favorite RCP-styled scores ever, but I have to admit, it sounds far more Hans & Lorne than Daft Punk. I mean, several of the cues are almost direct copies of Inception cues, albeit more heavily electronic and very differently orchestrated.Shaken.... Not Stirred ;)California here. I’ve been coming back to “But I Will Always Be Faster” and “Sonic The Hedgehog” repeatedly, I’m genuinely impressed by how strong the writing is in both cues. Honestly it doesn’t sound like Holkenborg (mixing aside).Hi there,

i have seen that the Score (Soundtrack) will be released on 27th of march. But i would like to know somthing maybe any of you knows:

Will the Song itself be released physical as a Single CD? Or will it be available just for download?
Because if there will be no CD, it would be the first James Bond Song which is not released as a Single CD.Rejected scores have gotten official releases before, such as Timeline by Jerry Goldsmith. So even if the Snyder Cut never gets released, I'd hope Junkie could potentially still work out a deal to get his original score out there. I avoided bringing up the TF films in this thread until AFTER you dragged them into it.
===============

No one dragged anything.

I briefly mentioned that franchise, among many other things you conveniently ignored (you do that a lot), to prove a simple point: that a director doesn't get to make 5 movies from the same franchise if people aren't enjoying his work. Go see the comment again.

YOU picked up on this and started talking obsessively about the TF.

==============
Going after every person that doesn't like Bay and trying to obsessively "debunk" them is psychotic, yes.
==============

Look at your first comment here, pal. I love the Batman Arrives track/scene. Just when all feels hopeless you hear the sudden DUN DUN DUN DUN and you know Batman is gonna go pwn some ninjas lol.

Aragorn2013-04-10 07:19:52
Speaking of Batman pwning ninjas, I think it's a shame that the cue for that scene was cut short on the Begins album. There was one really cool part that's missing.

This has to be my favorite score of this trilogy. There was a mysterious quality to it that the others lacked. Maybe it was because it used the two-note theme a lot, which Zimmer said "almost had a question" in it.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2012-12-28 06:37:00
So to clarify my question: This is not a recording sessions album, but an expanded? Does that explain why there's five tracks missing?

T-Mann036 reply Replies: 1 || 2011-04-25 00:48:28
If I only had a nickel for every time I see a die-hard Zimmer & Howard fan demanding the expanded or complete film score of Batman Begins... and I happened to be one of them.

Mike2012-12-28 01:10:46
A two-CD release like we got for TDK would be really, really awesome. Problem is, I think TDK only got that since the movie was so popular. This movie wasn't.

Mike reply Replies: 0 || 2012-12-27 09:01:17
Question, Hybrid:

You said you couldn't give the credits for this score since the main stuff was written by both Hans and James, with Hans sometimes using James' stuff and James sometimes using Hans' stuff. You said, though, that you could give the credits for TDK since it's more clear-cut.

However, TDK has quite a bit of temp music in it (LSI Extraction is Batman Visits Gordon, Trip to Hong Kong is Preparing Equipment, You're Gonna Love Me is part of Fight in Crane's Lab)...SO THE QUESTION, THEN, is this: if you can say who composed the temp music in TDK, can you say who composed the same thing in Begins or not?

Mike reply Replies: 0 || 2012-12-26 01:52:52
Something I find interesting about this score is the lack of theme suite material on CD3 (besides Ra's Al Ghul and Batman Theme). It's mostly alternate cues. Speaking of which, it seems we got the alternate version of Batmobile Chase on the album. I wonder why.

Oh, and Merry Christmas, everybody.

Rene reply Replies: 5 || 2012-12-07 20:11:59
Hybrid Soldier@ we want the full credits of the expanded score.

Mike2012-12-07 20:14:25
Guys, he already said it's too hard for this one. And besides, he's been nice enough to give us the credits to At World's End, TDKR, and (soon) TDK, so be thankful for what we have.

Thanks

Anonymous2012-07-23 21:41:27
I cant tell you exactly but in batman begins it is like 70% james newton howard and 30% hans zimmer

james newton howard does the slower more romantic feeling

and hans zimmer does the action sequences

Luna2012-07-23 23:18:14
I Can say the same thing in the dark knight Ex. Watch the world burn

Mr. Charles2012-07-24 00:32:27
I think you guys are wrong. I found a site that has the slate numbers of the cues that JNH composed. There were only a handful of them. And there is a LOT of action music in BB.

The same view for TDK. HZ composed the majority, JNH did the rest, and then Lorne Balfe and Henry Jackman each have a cue.

Also, notice how on the front of each it says "Music Composed by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard", not vice versa

Mike2012-11-30 08:25:03
Yeah, I definitely think Anonymous is mistaken. There's no way Begins is 70% Howard and 30% Zimmer. When most people think of the score (with me included), they think of the Hans Zimmer parts of it.

Hybrid Soldier2012-11-30 13:47:55
It's a bit more complicated than that... It's HZ/JNH, that's all !

Ramin had a big input as well. Everyone forgets about that.

Mel's cues are pretty obvious (Titles, Bruce Discomfort, Mugging, Crane's Mask...). Lorne arranged some cues (Backup...).

Mike2012-11-30 19:13:29
Fair enough, Hybrid. :)

Mike2012-11-30 19:16:06
Hmm, so Mel did the stuff that sounds more ambient than musical...Interesting.

Hybrid Soldier2012-11-30 19:23:58

Does anyone else think Ra's al Ghul's theme is just awesome? It sounds so wise and makes me think of legends and all that.

And it appeared in TDKR. That made me really happy.

Michael reply Replies: 2 || 2012-10-07 02:01:22
What exactly is the point of all the alternate mixes? Were they written "just in case"?

 Your name :

Please enter number: 1032

Dawn2012-10-08 09:49:10
I think they composed the "aternate mixes" first, then the director or production asked for "more strings here, less drums here". The composer has to change those details, and try the new version over the pictures.
The writing process is always tricky, and the first version of a cue is rarely the "good one". Though alternate mixes aren't very interesting to listen to, they give good insight of how one cue evolved !

Hybrid Soldier2012-10-08 10:54:36
And generally it's not even the composer doing that, but the music mixer, who has the various stems he mixes.

It's the same, only some cues have been combined etc.

Why are tracks "Courthouse (Part 2)" and "One More Container / On The Roof" missing from this?

Dawn2011-07-24 18:57:27
There's an 8 CDs version !

CD5 contains a 60+min suite I've done. CD6 contains the commercial soundtrack arrangements. CD6-7 contain the complete score played backwards. CD-8 contains all the actions cues with more drums added by a friend who knows how to use an audio software ! A-MA-ZING !

Yeah, I am sarcastic. =)

Please, stop the carnage. Guys, STOP putting more and more fanmade, useless stuff online !

Anonymous2011-07-24 20:37:22
Its a fan-made disc by a Shrine user called Arial :S

Anonymous2011-07-27 16:24:20
@Dawn: Wow, two times CD6? xD

Yabadapada2011-07-27 16:42:20
there is also an ultra rare 7th CD with a long burp of Chris nolan (7 secs long) and a record of Christian Bale (it's Batman! oops sorry for the spoiler) screaming at Wally Pfister named : "Am I trashing your lights???!!!" 25 min long : collector!
nah , seriously it's getting annoying all this fanmade stuff as Dawn said..

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-07-24 05:36:36
batman FTW! love this score

axel reply Replies: 1 || 2011-06-20 16:30:14
Where is "Courthouse (part2)" in the first CD ? It's probably the music where Bruce Wayne wants to kill his parent's murderer, but a woman do it before him... This music is not in this Recording Sessions...

tom2011-06-21 10:18:57
yes it's not there. good morning.

simon reply Replies: 1 || 2011-05-23 10:09:09
Just got a hold of it, I gotta say it's worth it just for finders keepers without sfx finally and final confrontation/train fight!

Ele2011-05-25 14:38:53
Indeedo! Awesome cues. And of course Batman Theme :D

david reply Replies: 0 || 2011-05-25 10:30:50
It's interesting how different versions of cues were used in the film.

When the bats come to the asylum it's the version that plays when the credits start making "back up" unused.

The beginning of final confrontation is tracked in with the same bit from the chase scene.

Batmobile chase while a few seconds longer than the alternate still doesn't have the film version which includes a couple more uses of the main theme and a great drum bit when the batmobile does a 180 in the tunnel.

John reply Replies: 4 || 2011-05-23 22:37:21
Where is Courthouse (Part 2) and One More Container / On The Roof?? There are two tracks missing I believe.

Uga2011-05-24 01:57:23
They are the only ones missing. I hope we get them somehow.

John 2011-05-24 04:25:42
I just realized theres a bit missing on "Preparing Equipment" when Flass starts the ignition on the car and we see Batman crouching over on a roof putting his black mask on. There was music in those few seconds, but it's not on this release. Also is "Crane Warns Rachel" the rejected / original version to when Bruce is at the pay phone and sees Rachel?

Agent Smith2011-05-24 09:17:41
i would love to get the corthouse cue where the murdering happens, it's really dramatic pure in there, but i doubt we'll get it ever.

John 2011-05-25 00:12:01
Can anyone identify any film versions on CD3 for me? I believe some are film edits such as "Gordon Says Thanks (Alternate)". Is there any other film edits?

Radim reply Replies: 0 || 2011-05-23 20:42:19
Greeat Score :))

Max reply Replies: 2 || 2011-05-22 13:44:22
Just search for it, easy as that!!

Now we just need the 3 pirate recording sessions, especially the rumored 4 disc at world's end.

zach2011-05-23 03:41:22
i would LOVE to have FULL scores from the POTC movies... i would gladly pay for them if they released them

michael2011-05-23 08:21:33
Yeh same, I wouldn't care the price just to have the recording sessions to DMC and At world's end, especially having the complete finale battle from AWE.

David reply Replies: 0 || 2011-05-23 05:08:30
In a perfect world, every movie score would be treated to a commercially available complete release, so that everyone who wanted it would be able to gladly pay for it and support it's composer legitimately. But unfortunately, we instead live in a world where the general public overlooks the magnificent works of art that are film scores such as this one and instead gravitates towards the equalized beeping noises that are mainstream music. Unfortunately, this means that in order to experience them with the complete treatment they deserve, we're forced to do so illegitimately through the underground. It's a sad fact, and it's made even sadder by the fact that commercial film music releases are becoming less and less complete.

fabien reply Replies: 2 || 2011-05-22 21:27:50
Amazing release ! so many additional musics!!!!!! can't stop listening to it!

Anonymous2011-05-23 00:24:07
Which composer did what tracks?

Dakota2011-05-23 02:31:44
Yes I too would like to know which composer did what, like we have for TDK. Please.

Uga reply Replies: 0 || 2011-05-23 02:27:51
I guess hybrid was right when he said this isn't complete. Some tracks are still missing actually, but this is still an extraordinary piece of art.

Brad reply Replies: 19 || 2011-05-22 00:37:15
This has finally leaked!!! Boys, if you know where to look you can find this 3CD beauty and enjoy it in all its glory!

Uga2011-05-22 00:50:02
Do you have it?

Anonymous2011-05-22 03:23:04
I'm on the hunt for it. Now it'll be AWESOME for the King Kong Recording Sessions to leak!!!

Anonymous2011-05-22 03:25:32
-__-
Bad idea. Now the studio will find it track it down and have it removed... if you find out its leaked don't mention it on here... >.<

Anonymous2011-05-22 03:34:32
A Pirates of The Caribbean 1,2 & 3 Recording Sessions would be epic, I'm a fan of the POTC scores. It'll be cool to have those too.

Anonymous2011-05-22 03:59:55
The leak was actually removed within minutes of @Brads post...like @anon said I'm pretty sure this is basically the hornets nest, aka definitely not the place you want to talk about this kind of stuff in.

Anonymous2011-05-22 04:01:22
So now what? We don't get it?

Anonymous2011-05-22 04:07:08
Well, they're guarding this thing like it's Fort Knox. If you want it you'll need some tricks up your sleeve and connections in the right places.

Anonymous2011-05-22 04:08:54
This just sucks, but I'm sure "somehow" it'll get around. But wait, than how did the TDK Recording Sessions leak without it getting removed?

Anonymous2011-05-22 04:12:54
It did get removed, it just took longer. And by the time it WAS removed, enough people had it where it was impossible to stop it from spreading. That fact is probably why this is being guarded so heavily, because of what happened with TDK.

Anonymous2011-05-22 04:16:24
So I just got lucky with TDK. I was really looking forward to having BB as well. Hell, I'd rather have the King Kong than BB.

Dakota2011-05-22 04:41:41
@Anonymous, do you just have full-blown chit chats with yourself?

John 2011-05-22 04:50:50
Some ppl are too lazy I guess to post their names on here so they just leave "Annoymous" and write a comment.

Uga2011-05-22 05:14:27
If you know who I am on some certain websites, I can help ;)

John 2011-05-22 05:23:55
I'm afraid I don't. But if you could help me with finding this, that'll make my da.

Uga2011-05-22 05:34:36
nightmare

John 2011-05-22 06:34:49
So no help there I take it then?

Uga2011-05-22 06:39:42
I can't list any websites. But google can be your best friend

John 2011-05-22 06:40:54
Tried it there, a number of times. Should give it a few more days.

Brad2011-05-22 14:23:44
Sorry for possibly alerting the "higher-ups" about this, but I knew that you all here would definitely want to know when this leaked. Fortunately, I was able to snatch it up before it was removed and let me whet your appetite for it that much more, because this score is possibly my favorite Zimmer score of all time now! Every cue is noteworthy, but especially Train Fight! It is awesome to finally hear that track in full now. The only thing that could be better than this Recording Sessions is a Complete Score to At World's End. That is truly Zimmer's masterpiece. Maybe one day. Nonetheless, let me know if you still would like this, and if you can't find it via Google let me know and I'll do my best to make it available.

Anonymous reply Replies: 1 || 2011-05-22 04:32:38
you guys have to keep the bootleg sharing talk to a minimum, you're making it too obvious! No wonder that link was taken down!

Anonymous2011-05-22 04:35:20
I second this. Posting talk about bootlegs here is like running around a police station screaming about how you have a bag of money you just stole from a federal bank and want to give it to everyone.

HZLeaks reply Replies: 8 || 2011-05-17 19:54:27
The alternates are pretty pointless, they sound identical 99% of the time. Some others have slightly different volume levels for different layers of instruments but for me, all we really need are Disc 1 and 2.

John 2011-05-18 04:35:59
I thought some of the alternates would be Film Versions.

Fil2011-05-18 05:42:05
Did this leak yet?

John 2011-05-18 06:04:39
No. Not yet. But hopefully soon.

john2011-05-18 21:16:10
yeah man, release it already!!! -.-
or put something on the be-loved webradioooo

Anonymous2011-05-18 22:20:59
Patience people, it will leak eventually.

Anonymous2011-05-21 00:20:30
Did Hans Zimmer do just the Ra's Al Ghul & Action scenes and James Newton Howard composed all the Bruce Wayne and Rachel themes?

Uga2011-05-21 00:32:12
I think JNH did drama scenes or mellow sequences. Which could mean he did Ra's al Ghul's theme. I know Zimmer did Scarecrow's.

Anonymous2011-05-21 00:35:36
Interesting. Can't wait for this Complete Score to leak? This is the recording sessions right?
