That's sad if it is true. I remember her from videos back in the 90's and in many photos with Zimmer himself. Is Hans no longer married to Suzanne Zimmer? I saw articles from Hollywood in Vienna that hes now married to Dina De Luca.Really fun score. Definitely on par with Elfman's effort.Chronological order is near impossible for music in an open world game.Hello everyone, Does anyone know how I can find "Homecoming" song in the movie but the film version not the soundtrack version? The homecoming song as it was played in the film itself.
was anyone ever able to put the OST and the unreleased tracks together in chronological order?Year, but seriously, these genres are where Harry Gregson-Williams always succeeded (Animation and Fantasy). I have high hopes that he will do a decent job and find back to his roots from the 2000s.i love this score so much. this comment is for Hans and team again for making such an amazing score. if they ever read what we write here lol : )

so, i am not a movie goer and many people claim and say that scores are to serve movies, and so and forth. well, i finally watched Dunkirk and it is an excellent movie. the movie did not do justice to the score imo.

here's an example. "Variation 15" on Nimrod is the "soothing" track for me in the whole score. much more soothing than "Home". i can play it in a loop. it surprised me that the cut gave it only a mere few seconds in the movie. now, i only watched Dunkirk once but i am pretty sure it played once, and for a few seconds, while "Bane" was in the plane.

another fact is that i always felt like being in a war plane when listening to "Supermarine". not an helicopter but more like a fast moving plane. that was before watching the movie and i never read about the movie. i knew it was about war and the only war machine i could think of was that. the fact that i was able to match the music with my own images says how great Hans and team were on that.

the constant tension felt in the "Mole", "Supermarine", etc. is more intense in the movie though. i liked that.

also, i watched the movie credits to the very end. i wanted to see if they would match it with the track. they did, and it ends exactly with the starting point as i expected. for me it was a cue that "the war didn't end there". sad, yes, but the effect was on point.

so okay, i am minority here in saying that a score album put together is its own thing. doesn't need a movie to exist. great movie. great score. both in their own rights!Don't want to be a downer but, really, let's all hope things won't blow to s*** like they did with Alien: Covenant or some other annoyance.Harry gregson williams will compose mulan ??!!!!! Come on this is blowing my mind. I truly hope for hans zimmer or other great composer like desplat or silvestri. I wanted hans to score a master piece like last samurai. But no offense to harry. He is good and more than good but disney live action like mulan really wanted something special that i think the right guy is hans !
Hans will cowrite the score together with Faltermeyer... :) ;)It's meHello?Great news! Can't wait to see the concert online or Blu-Ray.Cool that you met Hans! As for Hans doing Top Gun 2, well there's some pleasantly surprising news!
Yes!Hollywood in Vienna: Hans Zimmer was amazing! One of the best concerts Ive ever been to! I ended up meeting the man himself after the concert! Amazing programme!

Btw Tom cruise said (in a recorded message that was shown at the concert) that hed be working on Top Gun 2 with Hans! Pretty cool news!Really a fun and nice score from Dom.Any confirmation about Zimmer and Balfe working on the score? Or they just did the trailer music?good music

There's a new Ice Age movie and John isn't scoring it:(

0-^-02015-12-16 20:05:50
Who is scoring it then?

Edmund Meinerts2015-12-17 09:56:17
imdb currently lists Mark Mothersbaugh, but we'll see what ultimately happens. If it isn't Powell, I'll be a little disappointed too, but honestly, after three of these, I don't think there's much more he could have done with the franchise. Continental Drift already felt largely like a work on autopilot. It's far more important we make sure not to lose him on HTTYD3. :)

Scorefan2015-12-17 20:09:38
I think Mark is a good choice. I like his score for lego movie. I think if Powell doesnt return for the 5th movie, Mark can make a great score.

Edmund Meinerts2015-12-17 23:22:44
I hope it's more Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs than Lego Movie (the latter was a little too hyper even for me), but yeah, Mothersbaugh can write fun music. He feels like a good, if slightly "obvious", pick if Powell's not available. I suppose it's too much to hope for him to keep Powell's themes, though (and it's not like Powell kept David Newman's, so it's only fair :p ).

Scorefan2015-12-19 16:09:43
i agree with you Edmund, David Newman would come back for another installment. The first score was great, with great themes, just remember the music from the opening scene.

Confirmed!! John Debney scoring Ice Age: Collision Course. Oh, well.

Edmund Meinerts2016-03-28 08:35:54
I consider that a small step up from Mothersbaugh. Should be a fun score, even if it's not quite the same without Powell. I do wonder if he will keep Powell's themes - I know Powell didn't keep Newman's, but that was after only one movie and now there have been three for viewers to get used to Powell's.

Based on the sample, a usual comeback from Mr. Powell.

I hope imdb is true, that JP will score Pixar's Good Dinosaurs ( Dreamworks starts to not using RCP's composer, well, pixar is on the contrary )

Edmund Meinerts2013-04-11 23:10:37
Thomas Newman has been announced on The Good Dinosaur. Unfortunately for me, because I don't think there's anyone better at animated scores than Powell. :(

aldan2013-04-12 08:38:13
That's a pity though, i really expected that to happen. I mean what i can learn, Powell is simply story-oriented guy, if the story is good, then the score will be equally good (HTTYD, Bolt, Happy Feet, Chicken Run, Antz, etc.). And Pixar, as we know, create......

And what is even worse, Powell's next scores after a year of hiatus wil be sequels...., i really want to hear new original music from him.

But Thomas Newman back to animation is also a pleasant news (personally, his best scores are indeed from animated movies, Wall-e, and Finding Dory,uhm...Nemo)

Is this song by Powell?

If it's by Powell it must be on the album (the song "Food Glorious Food" from Ice Age 2 was on the soundtrack album)

Andrew2012-07-31 06:04:17
Food Glorious food wasn't composed by JP. it is from the musical "Oliver!" (i actually just recently found this out) he did, however, do the arrangement and obviously some lyrics were changed

Well, if Zimmer disappoints, we'll have at least a great soundtrack in July :D

Scrat's Fantasia on a Theme by Ludwig Van Beethoven?? Holy awesomeness!!

Looks very nice! In comparison to the 3th movie, there are less tracks, but longer ones: perfect!
