Why never ? <br>He dislikes the saga or not interested ? I'm curious.Does anyone know why "Knight's March" is not in the original album and if there is a extended edition that has this cue?<br><br>Rogue One was last minute change on Giacchino. I would like to hear Alexandre Desplat score to make a correct analysis from both scores. Besides that and with the little time, Giacchino's score is good, in the same style from maestro Williams. <br>Solo score is more different. Maestro Williams wrote the main theme and more cues, but what make the score different is Powell. He adapts Solo theme, and some of themes the original trilogy, but he puts him own stamp. Definitely is a Star Wars Score but with Powell stamp. Something Giacchino, maybe for the time, did not develop.<br>The film, well, i will watch on DVD.graciasWhile I always liked this score, it wasn’t until recently (when I revisited the film and album) that I realized how amazing it really is. There is still nothing that tops “Evacuating London” or the “Aslan” theme in terms of modern fantasy material. Each of the themes are brilliantly interconnected with each other, but stand on their own as well. I do wish there something a bit more distinctive for the White Witch, but that’s a small complaint.<br><br>The only other score that really reminds me of this (in terms of the string writing and piano material) is “Winters Tale” by Rupert. Also a pretty solid fantasy score.
I LOVE IT!!They kept the volume of the music so low in the movie, while rouge ones was jacked up and used as a center piece rather than side music like they did for John. Johnson piece is far better, it they gave it a back seat <br>But Rogue One or Solo?<br><br>Because i remember more the music in RO after watching the movie than in Solo (well, maybe is because that theme for the character is so unispired and only i remember certain moments of the music)We are just gonna have to agree to disagree. ;-)I just said I haven't watched the movie or listened to the full score yet.
Still have to disagree, I love the new “Park Theme” and the way it sort of takes over from the classic theme. Then you have the Indominus theme, Owen’s theme, the villain theme, the family theme, the source music, etc.<br>I’ll take that any day over Lost World and JP3. Is it as good as the original score? Hell no, but not many scores are.'<br><br>The Lost World was a coherent evolution in the franchise, Williams maintains the original theme, but creates a darker and more percussive score (listen the expanded version by La La Land), because the movie isn't like Jurassic Park. And i getting appreciate more the Don Davis score for JPIII, better orchestrated than Jurassic World, both scores are FAR better than Jurassic World (one for a coherent and agressive tone and more memorable, and the other because is better orchestrated)<br><br>'And I do see the similarities between the vulture theme and those other ones listed. It’s definitely not original, but it is effective.'<br><br>I don't see any similaraties with the Avengers theme, effective?, yeah, but not memorable and i'll pick up any day than any theme in Jurassic WorldDo you remember any music outside the space chase?<br><br>Because i don't.I only watched the movie once, but the fact that I didn't take away any memorable music from Rogue One is a huge problem for a Star Wars film. I haven't listened to this score yet, but I have more hopes for this than Rogue One.Between this one and Rogue One, I'll take the last one.<br><br>Unfortunately the two scores run away from the typical sound of the franchise and at various times seem just a pastiche copy.<br><br>It's a good score, but it does not feel so natural. Even Han's theme is almost unrecognizable, forgettable and incoherent with the character. It does not have the same identity as the themes of Luke, Leia, Rey, Anakin, Jyn, Yoda or Dameron.woow! love it
It's funny that when they announced that the star wars story films would be scored by different conposers, I was like... COME ONE JOHNY GET ON IT and sure enough a year later... Same with Pan (one of his best scores in my opinion).Well, for starters, the HAN SOLO theme Williams wrote is kind of...well...meh....<br><br>And I can see where Powell had to incorporate the original Star Wars and some Empire themes....Asteroid Field being one of them.<br><br>I just kinda hoped Powell would adapt Asteroid Field into something more than whatever the hell butchery happened here....Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! When was there a flute in this score?? I just noticed there's a credit for a flute soloist, and I've listened to this score several times and never noticed a flute? Does anyone have any idea which track it might be?It's really sad how more than half of this score is just very messy bombastic sound rather than a more structured melodic/thematic approach, this coming from a hardcore Powell fan. The saddest thing is that this was THE film for him to score, full of action and chase sequences, which John has always excelled at. Here however, rather than his usual voice, it sounds as if he shies away from it and goes back to anything established by Williams every 30 seconds or so. Whenever it sounds like a cue is leading up to something interesting and exploring a new idea, it just shies away from it. This might have been on the directors/producer's side of things... or that's what I'm choosing to believe, at least. Don't get me wrong, every so often there are some sections that really do shine, this often being when Powell isn't just trying to sound Williamsy and/or referencing old SW material. Maybe I just need to give the album a few more listens. Usually happens whenever a new Powell soundtrack album is released. Not sure, though. Just by listening to Ferdinand a few times, for example, you could really feel and understand the story, its characters and their development, as their themes developed as well. This one is just a mess and feels... off.Such an inspiring track. Loved it when it was released and still love it.

This guy's edit of the Imagine the Fire/Bridge scene is incredible! Listen to it! watch?v=ChIpS01bWCs

uga2013-03-26 18:45:35
Impressive. Sounds like it was taken from the complete score itself.

Aragorn2013-03-26 22:28:23
Wow! That IS good!

Nerd2013-03-26 22:34:11
I'd like to shake the hand of the guy who made that lol

Mike2013-03-26 22:39:10
That is most impressive. My edit of that scene kinda lame. Haha.

Billy Bob2013-03-27 02:44:13
the same guy did a film version mix of "Batman Chased" that is purely UNMATCHED as well. Check it out watch?v=42BoT-XPUJ4&list=UUE4NGOJoJ1koFMrG0SgS15Q&index=32

Mike2013-03-27 03:05:25
I've heard that one, Billy Bob, and it's good overall, but the part from 6:58-7:20 sounds a little too bombastic.

The full version of the "slow knife" scene is so good! Too bad it was cut short on the album! :(

Hybrid, will Hans release the true version of Moody Bruce New Transfiguration Suite? If its definitely NOT Aurora, what is it then? Earlier you said it was a steroid version of Chasing the Convoy East track - if its what I think it is....this was definitely on the Bonus features and it sounded awesome!

Mike reply Replies: 5 || 2013-02-19 03:40:20
You know, I almost think it would be cooler if Rooftop Fight were without the insert at 0:45 in the movie. I mean, we just heard the credits music in the chase scene right before.

MrEJ@XrX2013-03-05 19:23:34
I am wondering if there are official plans to release this on CD or HD Tracks download?!! Please advise!

Mike2013-03-05 19:31:06
Unfortunately, I would strongly doubt it. :( The only complete score releases I know of are the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the original Star Wars trilogy.

Maybe we can expect a two-disc release like The Dark Knight got, though. :)

Trent Easton Navarro2013-03-08 11:51:03
Ever heard of labels like La La Land and Intrada? They release complete (or expanded) scores all the time.

Why anyone would want a complete version of this is beyond me though :P

Hybrid Soldier2013-03-08 13:06:44
You continuously posting on this site is beyond me too...

Trent Easton Navarro2013-03-11 15:34:33
@Hybrid

Wasn't this a site for Hans Zimmer's fans? And believe it or not, I am a Zimmer fan. Two of his scores are probably in my all time Top 10.

Anonymous reply Replies: 2 || 2013-03-06 00:03:01
I wish the film versions came with the recording sessions.

-Batman Chased
-Rooftop Fight
-Crossing Bridge / Chasing convey East

There's a few tracks that sound way better in the movie compared to the originals. The fan-edits work, but a legit film version for the altered tracks would be awesome!

Mike2013-03-06 00:28:50
AMEN. I'd especially love a movie edit of Batman Chased and "Crossing the Bridge", as you called it. My edits are okay, but they obviously aren't as clean or nice as the movie versions.

Hey Watertower, come over here and read this!

Hybrid Soldier2013-03-06 08:31:22
Batman Chased in the movie IS an edit. Not fan-one, but music editor-one.

Zimmeredge reply Replies: 2 || 2012-12-08 00:31:51
Now we know where our voices where used (Bane Suite).

Thanks Hybrid Soldier. I hope WaterTower will be kind and release that stuff in CD. It's really potent and massive soundtrack!
A lot of cues are not existing in the movie. Some are missing. But all in all it is truly a masterpiece!

If He (Mr Zimmer) didn't grab an oscar nomination for this one (after 2008's robbery) it will be a massive disappointment for me.

Zimmeredge2012-12-08 01:08:20
edit: The Cat Suite is 15:39 or 5:39?

Mike2013-02-01 04:19:40
I'm pretty sure it's 15:39 indeed. I remember Hybrid saying it was "really repetitive" or something, and it seems somewhat unlikely that it would be too bad if it were only 5 and a half minutes.

Mike reply Replies: 0 || 2013-01-05 22:16:21
4:46-12:15 in the Wayne Manor suite is SO AMAZING.

tree reply Replies: 1 || 2012-12-22 06:08:11
Is it possible that "Moody Bruce New Transfiguration Suite" is really "Imagine the Fire" off the ost with an extended beginning?
Also, any chance that we will ever hear the extended versions of the suites?

Mike2012-12-22 07:14:12
Question seconded!

Mike reply Replies: 2 || 2012-12-20 23:37:56
Can someone tell me why it looks like some cues are missing? For one thing, the cue when the cops threaten to blow the bridge (found from 4:00 onward in the album track Imagine the Fire) is not here. Also, right after Selina kills Bane, when Talia gets out of the Tumbler and into the truck with the bomb, that isn't here either. Were those added later or something?

Hybrid Soldier2012-12-21 10:50:42
They are not in the cue sheet. They probably are just suites temped and edited here.

Mike2012-12-21 23:17:39
Thanks. That would make sense. Do you think that was the director's choice or the composer's?

Bane reply Replies: 1 || 2012-12-09 05:55:15

Hybrid, you hinted earlier in the month that the "Moody Bruce" suites were not what people thought they were (coincedental same lengths)...will we ever get to hear them? Also, the blu-ray trailer(s) appear to have an epic cue that isnt on either the album or recording sessions - any ideas where this came from? Thanks!

Hybrid Soldier2012-11-16 15:36:35
I was only talking about the New Transfiguration version, which basically is an 8 min segment of the New Hero version but in steroid mode, faster tempo (same as in Chasing The Convoy East) & percs added.

Jaynufire2012-11-16 18:01:30
Thanks for that hybrid. Will we get to hear it soon? (Apologies if you have already mentioned this previously!) but am still curious about the particular segment in the Blu-ray trailer that is basically Mollosus with extra percussion and different epic ending to it (more evident in Blu ray trailer 2) - thanks again for the earlier insight :)

Mike2012-11-17 05:26:20
Seconded, I'd love to hear it lol

I have a question about Rooftop Fight/Fear Will Find You. At least in one video from the complete score version, the End Credits theme was absent (after Batman says "This isn't a car"), but it is there on the album version, and I remember hearing it in the movie. Was the video off, or was it indeed not in the film and I'm remembering wrong?

Hybrid Soldier2012-11-14 08:53:35
It was in film. It's simply an insert that wasn't recorded at the same as the cue and then was added later.

Mike2012-11-14 10:08:02

Preacher2012-10-24 20:47:53

The Magnificent Century2012-10-24 23:13:56
The End Credits (Complete Score)=
01 :: A Mix of TDK & BB End Credits - Master Only
02 :: Imagine The Fire A Mix of Original Score Album - Master only
03 :: Not An Ordinary Citizen + Miranda Visits Wayne + Moody Bruce New Hero Suite (last part).
I think that, The Third Part it's easy to construct it.....?!

Mike reply Replies: 0 || 2012-10-18 08:22:51
In TDKR's Blu Ray trailer, there was a piece of music that played between Molossus and Imagine the Fire, when it's talking about the extras. Is that listenable by itself anywhere? It was like a mix between Molossus and Agent of Chaos.

What are your top 3 favorite tracks in The Dark Knight Rises complete film score?

I'll share you my top 3--

3. Moody Bruce New Transfiguration Suite (8:38) a.k.a. Aurora
2. A Hero Can Be Anyone (2:35)
1. Rooftop Fight - Back To Batcave (4:07)

Hybrid Soldier2012-10-15 08:54:02
Who has ever said that New Transfig was Aurora ?

Surprisingly the lengths are quite similar indeed, but...

Mike2012-10-15 10:46:21
I like Batman Chased, Hospital Visit, Bar Shootout, Instrument of Your Liberation, and Gordon Underground.

The Bat2012-10-15 10:58:40
Hybrid Soldier : I have the complete score and I checked : the track Moody Bruce New Transfiguration Suite (8:38) IS Aurora, I swear.

Jimmer2012-10-15 13:30:32
@The Bat @Hybrid Soldier: I've had the exact same thoughts. I'm pretty sure "Moody Bruce New Transfiguration Suite" is the same as "Aurora." Though, if you confirm something different, Hybrid, I'll take your word for it.

MGDrone2012-10-15 16:52:12
Haha, I knew it! It never made sense to me that Aurora would be included in the Recording Sessions since it technically isn't part of the score and wasn't recorded at the same time.

@The Bat @Jimmer: those were fan-made, unfortunately. The third disc hasn't leaked yet :(

Who the fuck needs so many variations of the same thing?! We all have the sessions, and those took forever to download. So, now let's do it all over again for something that contains very nearly the exact same material that is arranged just slightly differently!!!

So does anyone else think the film version of Risen From Darkness is waaaaay cooler than the CD version? The initial part when Batman first appears is more epic, and instead of a weird electronic beat during the new heroic theme, we have drums. It all just sounds better in the film edit. Oh well.
