Yeah, I always thought that would be the case for the Academy Awards. Don't know about others but if it's not eligable for the Oscars I can't see Disney submitting it for consideration at any other awards either. Could be wrong - I have the vague notion BATB got an FYC despite being ineligable.

Best thing to hope for is either a leak of the 'sessions' or a future official expanded score release.John Powell composing the eternals would be a dream come true. Itíd be so amazing. I also want Lorne to compose a super hero movie but he has yet to do one which is very odd considering how popular he isvery underrated score - you can't change my mindHenry Jackman seems to be composing Black Widow, it's great news. The bad thing is that Joseph Trapanese composes The Eternals, would have preferred Powell or has one of the Gregson Williams brothers (preferably Harry).Zimmer himself confirmed on Facebook that this score wouldn't be eligible.
What a beautiful score... The 'Opening Titles' is probably one of HG-W's best dramatic pieces. Very beautiful and haunting, and overall a great showcase of Harry's dramatic sensibilities. I remember reading somewhere that he's very proud of this score, and it's not hard to understand why if you listen to it.but the lion king is preexisting music that has previously won an Oscar. I donít see that happening againHave you listened to Star Wars: The Last Jedi?
That was nominated and had tons of pre-existing musicI'd be very surprised if Disney submits an FYC for this score. Surely it would fall afoul of the "too much pre-existing music" rule and they wouldn't even bother.Maybe we get a FYC album
The Guardian confirmed it. Oct 27. Great if there is a album release at the time."All the time"? I'm pretty sure this is my first comment on a Balfe score this year.Just watching this movie again, and I hope that someday they will release an expanded score editionEdmundo - you always stalk anyone complimenting a Balfe project for some reason?

Really boring your negative comments all the timeEdmund what is wrong with you ? Using childish language is pathetic. ďJizzingĒ is an idiotic term.If some of us like his music the why does it irritate you.You sound like a jealous failed composer always complaining when he releases a soundtrack.
Why do the Balfe loveres waste so much time jizzing over his music. Always comes of [sic] sounding like a 13-year-old fanboy discovering the internet for the first time I think. Why do the Balfe haters waste so much time moaning about his music.Always comes of sounding like an ex bitter employe I think.Gemini is as good as Fallout but itís very cool.Great film with a classic soundtrack.one of the best action soundtracks this year. The film was though a bit slow and one one good action scene.and yet again, a half-baked score like every other score of him :(Cool music in this film and some of the best action sequences I have ever seen.lorne is the best at action music

@Hybrid, is there a posibility Hans could write the score for Top Gun 2? Or they will come back to Harold Faltermeyer?

Hybrid Soldier2018-08-30 12:32:16
Faltermeyer definitely.

Ohhh, nothing......Just here to remind folks what is the best M:I score. *cough*Balfe is not Zimmer*cough*

Seriously now.......Balfe seems to be turning into a film score version of Christopher Nolan. There are people who think he's the best thing since sliced bread, the next Jesus, and there are people who hate his guts. Personally, I don't mind him and I'm glad he gets to work on these big movies. But on the other hand, his score for the new MI movie is not even close to the greatness of Zimmer's MI2 score. At least in my opinion.

mpolonest1232018-07-15 21:19:31
Iím right there with you. I definitely think Balfe is very talented, although heís far from one of the best composers out there. Especially compared to Zimmer.

That being said, Iím not crazy about MI:2. The highlights are solid (Injection and Bare Island especially) but I find most of the score either schizophrenic or just not as developed as the scores that influence it. Sorta like how everybody loves ďThe RingĒ but I canít personally canít help but hear it as a lesser version of Hannibal.

Edmund Meinerts2018-07-15 23:33:49
Interstellar is barely 3 years old.

isildur2018-07-15 23:41:50
Even on last year's Dunkirk Hans wrote 90% of it. Unless you are born in the last few months there is plenty of music which Hans wrote and many can remember.

Mephariel2018-07-16 06:14:22
Christopher Nolan of music? You serious? You compare Balfe with Nolan, one of the most talented directors of this generation? Nolan always does his own shit. He doesn't tempt scenes from other movies and recolor them and call them his.

Has Balfe written a great score that is truly his own yet? Maybe I just haven't heard it.

The only thing Balfe and Nolan has in common is that they are both white and they are both British.

Mephariel2018-07-16 06:46:12
Because that opinion is clearly wrong when Dunkirk came out in 2017.

Bayhem2018-07-16 10:31:34
mpolonest123, I see your point.

But looking back at the MI2 score now, compared to some recent MV/RC stuff......it's just heads and tails above them. Again, that's just my opinion. There is a clear theme here, there is an actual structure. Not just some noisy sound effects thrown in the blender.

Bayhem2018-07-16 10:33:27
Mephariel, fair enough. I see your point as well.

Hybrid Soldier2014-04-06 17:49:08
Are you just plain stupid or just doing it on purpose ? I don't know which is the scariest...

PhantomThieve1172018-02-17 20:40:15
@ Hybrid why are you such a dick, he was just asking a question, not everyone is computer savy. He's probably asking how can he download songs from this website which you can't. Stop being such an ass that's why you got a fucked up hairline.

Hybrid Soldier2018-02-17 20:42:54

Yesterday Lorne told me: Injection was composed by Clint Mansell for Requiem for a Dream, and Hans used it for M:i2.

Ds2013-01-06 14:33:35
Wtf?

Hybrid Soldier2013-01-06 15:03:31
Lorne never discusses HZ's work. Certainly not old 10 years old stuff...

martymarin2013-01-06 17:55:46
.. ha ha, bad joke :D

Edmund Meinerts2013-01-06 20:07:14
As Will Smith says in I, Robot...*ATCHOO* - sorry, I'm allergic to bullshit.

Fan from Spain2013-01-08 13:11:31
What??? I can't believe this, I really think Hans composed this amazing score!

atchoo2013-01-08 13:48:05
Will Smith mir gehen?

Edmund Meinerts2013-01-09 12:41:49
I think Injection was a collaboration between Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt and Clint Mansell. It was not Clint Mansell alone.

Anonymous2014-05-11 20:32:42
wait....i'm sorry....clint mansell even worked on this score?

Edmund Meinerts2014-05-11 20:47:55
That wasn't me, by the way. Accounts, site!

Bayhem2017-07-17 13:30:06
Injection is a track that just screams "Hans Zimmer". There's no way Mansell did it. So yes, complete bullcrap.

Why is the Buckcherry song on this edition?
And where are the alternative tracks from?

 Your name :

Please enter number: 1117

Hybrid Soldier2012-10-13 13:15:30
Because the song is co-written by HZ, it's actually a theme from the score...

dallas2012-10-13 20:42:34
OK and what about the alternative tracks at the end there?

Hybrid Soldier2012-10-13 22:52:49
OST has some different things.

And there was one from an odd promo Klaus Badelt sent probably as an application to score S.W.A.T. 10 years ago...

dallas2012-10-14 06:25:39
Thank you, Soldier. It seems Escape is the last part of Bare Island but Seville is shorter than this list on the OST and The Bait is too. Are those both from the OST?

dallas2012-10-15 20:42:47
Or maybe another fan knows?
