Yeah 100% fake... And there was HJ rumor on Black Widow sometimes last year, so if you do the math...Henry doesn't have an official Instagram. It looks like you are referring to the account "henry0262020" which appears to be a fake account, to the best of my knowledge.Henry Jackman is now Black Widow's composer, apparently in his instagram, posted a photoHah! Knew it. FYI, I'm not smoking anything. I don't smoke, and I abhor anyone who does.Oh interesting. When I said "refined his sound," I didn't mean that he was still trying to find his voice. This score absolutely exudes the qualities that make his work so appealing. You simply managed to put what I was trying to say in better terms. I'm definitely happy to give this one more goes in the future, but I remain more partial to some of the other installments.
This is easily my favorite X-Men score, but I do agree there is a bit of an...*odd* feel to it sometimes. The impression I get is that Powell was reeeaallly pushing himself to write the most dense and complex and ambitious score he could, and I think he may have overreached a tad. There's definitely a big contrast between this score and the much tighter, more focused sound he was bringing in his action music from a couple years prior, like Paycheck or The Bourne Supremacy. I wouldn't say he "hadn't quite refined his sound yet" - this isn't Face/Off, his voice was pretty well established by this point - but he was trying to develop it a bit faster than it was naturally going to go.<br><br>At the same time, I love how this score goes for broke, and I hate to fault a composer for too much ambition. "Phoned in" is the LAST thing this score is. But Powell would iron out the kinks and by How to Train Your Dragon he was writing a score that was just as complex, but wore the complexity a bit more naturally than X3."There is nothing musically interesting in [Ottman's] X-Men scores except the main titles."<br><br>As if I didn't need a reminder that this place can house some ludicrous opinions sometimes (no offense intended there).<br><br>The Last Stand barely cracks the top 5 of X-Men scores for me, if only because I love the themes and it carries a lot of nostalgia for me. It's pretty clear imo that this score was at a point when Powell hadn't quite refined his sound yet. I wouldn't call it phoned in whatsoever, but it's easy to get lost at points when I'm listening to the full thing. But the highlights are too great for me to call it middling either, so it barely gets a solid grade in my book. <br><br>I'm likely in the minority when I say I actually prefer Dark Phoenix. It's much more solid as a whole product.I like the tracksWow!!!Still my favorite score from the X-Men series.
Not too stoked on Powell, but the way Ottman's able to squander a good theme makes him close to the bottom of the barrel in my book. There is nothing musically interesting in his X-Men scores except the main titles.I don't know what you're smoking but you need to get off it. In the way is this phoned in, the orchestration and everything about it is perfect. No score for X-men has come close to this one except maybe X2That recording footage makes it all the more baffling to me why the end product sounds the way it does.I understand the comments about the orchestra sounding like samples by some of the comments?<br><br>If you follow his Twitter you see the BBC orchestra recording the soundtrack.Season two is cool and Balfe’s music is bigger that season 1.Bit choirs also.I love Hillbilly also but it sounds very familiar just with different guitar instruments.Paradise is so emotional and sonically more interesting to me at least
I find Hillbilly more engaging than Paradise, even much interesting dramatic cues.Memorial is heart wrenching.<br>Definitely up there for this years scores.Fantastic music but Balfe and Zimmer.You can hear their different styles in this music.<br>Very beautiful soundtrackCouple of interesting things.

<br>This is what I could find. Some of the cues I couldn't find at all like Family Stories A, Gonna Be A Pilot or To Tatooine Pt 2 probably have all one thing in common : I guess they're 100% credited to JW.
<br>
<br>That cuesheet matches in fact with the credits I posted above that come from JP's team.
<br>
<br>Interestingly, the 2018 Album does credit Williams very specifically on every cue any of his material is used (The % come from the fact Powell & Mounsey are ASCAP, Williams, Willis & Sener are BMI) :

<br>It's not unusual to have different credits for an album VS the same music in the film, depends on the deal that was made.
<br>
<br>Also, some incoherences here, like Willis credited for Lando's Closet in the cuesheet but not in the OST for the same track. But you can't take the cuesheet for absolute truth, additionals did a bit more than that, not necessarly credited, cause it's not as significative to program some percs on a track VS writing 90% of it ! :) Like Willis isn't officially credited for L3's Sacrifice (very end of Extra Deluxe Mine Mission) but has it on his website. Same for Batu with L3 & Falcon. So they had more to do than just what they are credited for... :)

So no album release for the Rhythm Section?

MrZimmerFan2020-01-31 10:54:21
For the moment, not a clue.

MrZimmerFan2020-02-01 01:10:06
This quote is from Steve Mazzaro's instagram when some ask for the soundtrack

'Working on it! Hopefully in the near future.'

Steve said in his Instagram, the score is mastered and hopefully gets his release the end of this month

Turns out Hans is working with Steve Mazzaro. And I also read somewhere that he's also working with Johnny Marr. Color me excited!

Ian Brown McCarthy2020-02-03 07:19:24
This is good. Very good. Steve composed/co-composed some of the very best cues from BvS, so we may actually get some good music out of this.

MrZimmerFan2020-02-03 08:53:54
And SpongeBob.

Hybrid Soldier2020-02-03 12:50:40
The thing is I'm not sure they would put Mazzaro as co-composer. Probably as additional music. It feels more like a PR stunt to me (a well deserved one, don't get me wrong) since he just scored Rhythm Section, been in Hans' shadow for nearly 8 (!) years. Looks like the machine is set up to push Steve into the light, to get more projects on his own.

The big question is... would Hans be ready to let him go ? Even Lorne went on his own at some point (even if he's never too far when needed ! lol).

Mr.Unbreakable2020-02-03 14:02:19
I spoke with Steve Mazzaro yesterday, and he told me that Bond is Hans / Mazzaro without anyone else, and that next week they will record the score. I think Mazzaro will play a similar role to Lorne in Sherlock Holmes.

Dudu2020-02-05 08:59:33
That makes me think: what happened to Andrew Kawzynski? For several years (up until dunkirk) him and Steve were on all of Hans’ projects, and now it’s just Steve (and David Fleming, but mainly Steve). As for Andrew, he worked a few times with RGW, but has nothing coming up...@hybrid, do you know why?

Hybrid Soldier2020-02-05 12:31:31
Andrew is handling his own career, which Hans launched "solo" more than 2 years ago with Sky Hunter. He's getting projects, he scored the big Chinese epic The Eight Hundred (with a theme by RGW) that was supposed to come out last year but was canceled (until further notice) by the authorities.

Dave Fleming took the spot. And another name you will start to see more & more within the next few years on Hans scores is Steven Doar... :)

Mr.Unbreakable2020-02-05 13:42:23
Then we are facing a generational relay.

Dudu2020-02-05 16:34:13
Thanks for the answer!
About The Eight hundred, yeah I was waiting for the score and was bummed when the release was canceled! Wonder what happens to the score in that case (is it going to be released anyways, or just canceled like the movie...who knows)

Hybrid Soldier2020-02-05 17:36:52
And that's the logic.

Every cycle comes to an end... Nick stayed close to Hans for 5 years. Then Klaus for 4 years. Then Lorne for 7 years. Steve M. for 8 years after that... :)

Lucas Wilson reply Replies: 10 || 2020-01-21 18:53:09
Any news on if we get an album for The Rhythm Section?

MrZimmerFan2020-01-21 19:14:41
The score is getting release by Paramount Music, in other words, digital and same day as the movie opens (31th January)

Paul2020-01-31 06:04:34
It's so strange, I can't find an album score on itunes

MrZimmerFan2020-01-31 07:15:47
Maybe is delayed or not coming

Jeff2020-01-31 09:50:35
There never was a soundtrack album planned, "MrZimmer Fan" (think he goes by the name of "SoldierofFortune " on FSM) tends to make assumptions about soundtrack albums based on the labels/studios that typically release them and post them as "facts", wouldn't trust anything he says.

MrZimmerFan2020-01-31 09:55:28
The soundtrack is labeled by Paramount Music in IMDB Pro, only studios can edit his company credits, and obviously the music of the movies are his properties like Sonic (also Paramount Music) or A Quiet Place (which also Paramount Music).

Jeff2020-01-31 10:02:07
Lol, thought everybody knows by now that IMDb is user-contributed and full of errors. Literally every upcoming Paramount title is listed as getting a release on Paramount Music on there (that definitely won't be happening), do you really think there is already a soundtrack album for M:I 7 & 8 and Indiana Jones 5 planned before they're even in production?

MrZimmerFan2020-01-31 10:12:06
The studio looks EVERYTHING in his hands for promotion (the music is also a media for promoting a movie), even the movie bombs in the box office, the music won't be a factor of that failure and editing digital releases are more cheap than physical releases, so yes, they planned releases for all movies, later if they think not be something for the interest for potential audiences, they can cancel that release.

Jeff2020-01-31 19:53:32
What?! No idea what you're saying lol, but like I said, there was never an album planned for this.

MrZimmerFan2020-01-31 20:02:12
You hace any proof of that?

Mines are very truthful, because I understand what I sting.
