So hearing JunkieXL's scores recently, this has really made me wonder...did Zimmer *really* work on the Arcade and Zod theme suites, or are they really all Junkie and Zimmer's name is a nice formality? Because they don't sound especially Zimmerish *anyway,* yet they sound identical to JunkieXL's recent output. ;)
Junkie did some drum programming on MoS as far as I know. Given his top credit on Dawn of Justice it would be no surprise if he was involved a lot in the first one.
Involved a lot in the first one? Isn't he basically co-credited on almost every track for MOS?
He's responsible for Zod's theme
He scored a lot of MOS, and then scored Zack Snyder's next movie (300 ROAE)...
I'm surprised no one has talked about the recently leaked complete score for this one...
Are u talking about this? . . . (i don't know if this is the official score )

It seems no one posts a lot like they used too when bootlegs leaked before. Interesting.
OMG i'm listening this complete score and is not a fake, or a DVD RIp, or a fan made!, this is real!!, all tracks sounds amazing, at last! i got the famous "escape from the ship" and all unreleased music
This leak is 100% legit... and it's real. I too am listening to this and this complete film score is truly faster than a speeding bullet!
Holy shit! It's 100% legit AND it's real???
Amigo in Donut Shop
Has anyone made a list of what's new on the sessions vs. the OST?
Amiga in Donut Shop
OP made a list of what cues on the OST corresponds to sessions. Check it on the page
Amigo In Donut Shop
Grazie, I think, Amiga - I guess I was looking for a concise list of whats new vs. the old - you know, like *Previously Unreleased flags on cues exclusive to the sessions. I'll keep looking, since I don't see that for some reason! Have a chocolate bar on me ;-)
Amiga in Donut Shop
Go to the place where the complete score came from. On that page the OP made a list of the OST stuff. So everything else is new. Which is a lot lol
That list is incomplete tho Its missing YouDieorIDo and YouLedUsHere's place in the complete score
@Medigo, "You Die or I Do" is a major part of "Final Confrontation", and "You Led Us Here" is "Zod's Story (Part 1)"
That is what I meant is that the list on that place didnt account for those 2 tracks
Nobody talked on this topic about the complete score because the admins created a page/topic on this release !
I was watching an interview with Junkie XL and he said that he and Hans produced the score for months before even writing material. What exactly does he mean by this? What is producing a score versus writing the score? Thanks!
Choosing the sound palette, mostly... What samples, instruments to use, what could fit the movie...
I love how you can spend months tinkering with the sound palette and what comes out at the end still sounds like synth demos...that's amazing.
Well, Tom (Junkie XL) tweeted that he is composing the trailer music with Hans for the Batman v Superman trailer coming with Mad Max: Fury Road. I am going to be honest, I am extremely excited about seeing and now HEARING the trailer! I think Man of Steel gets a great deal of undeserved flack. I personally found it an excellent score both inside and outside of the film. But anyway, enough of my thoughts. Curious to hear about all of yours in anticipation of the trailer!
Hey Hybrid Soldier, do you know where in the film the Marco Beltrami cue "The Long Walk" from The Hurt Locker can be heard? I really want to know this cause I cannot seem to find it anywhere! Thanks :)
Oh man, I found it!! It's that creepy cue when Zod makes the television broadcast! I always loved that part - very eerie. I had always thought it was just SFX but it's an actual cue. Awesome!
now if only further credits could be revealed here... :P
Never gonna happen, the cue sheet is empty...
Really? That's a bummer :(
I know Hybrid doesn't post anything unofficial, but it's a pretty safe bet that "What Are You Going...", at least, can be credited to "Hans Zimmer". ;) But then, even there I guess someone else could have done the slight alterations...
Actually I know 2 cues for fact that are Steve Mazzaro & Andrew Kawczynski, but they're not in the OST.
And I suspect something like 2 or 3 cues being Atli (actually not on OST either)...
well it seems like Junkiexl had the biggest role to play of the additionals
Our of curiosity, even if they're not on the OST, what are said cues?
yes indeed what are the mazzaro/andrew/atli cues ?
Hey Hybrid, do you have those tracks for us? Please?? Just looking to know the credits. Thanks!
Who Is This Kal Person? has Mazzaro
Escape From Ship has Kawczynski
Just wondering but did Junkie XL have anything to do with Lois's theme? Watching Divergent recently, there is an unreleased cue which is almost identical to "Lois Investigates"
No he didn't... I guess just some temp left in Divergent made that... And the Lois theme is in the Sketchbook...
Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. Is it the background strings starting at 11:55 in the suite?
Yeah, I don't even think it was supposed to be a proper theme in the film...
Some guy probably "Hey not bad let's use it !" and rearrange it in a more badass way... Too bad none of these made it to the OST... :(
Yeah that is a shame, probably some last minute cues after the album was pressed.
It reminds me a bit of the OSCORP theme in Spidey 2 or the "nature out of balance" motif in The Lone Ranger, not really heavily featured on album.
Speaking of the Sketchbook suite, Hybrid, do you know what the 7 minutes of it cut from the album are (you said the original was 35 minutes)?
Man of Steel for me is one of Hans Zimmer's best works...From look to the Stars, to This is Clark Kent, to Ideal Hope and of course Arcade...all i can say is wow! I have no patience with internet nitpickers who have not composed a cellphone ringtone but are now experts at criticizing a legend in our time. Currently enjoying the interstellar soundtrack...Could you please bring that organ to some of Superman. Especially the sounds on STAY, had a superman heroic feel. Keep up the good work!
Hans Zimmer revealed in an interview with Comic Book Resource that he will be collaborating with Junkie XL on Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The composer mentioned that Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg will be providing music for the Batman character, while he will take care of Clark Kent/Superman. Zimmer previously scored Snyder’s Man of Steel. Junkie XL composed additional music for Man of Steel and also worked with Snyder on 300: Rise of an Empire. Zimmer had previously expressed hesitation to score another Batman movie when he was first asked about the project given his involvement with Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy. Batman v Superman starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter is set to be released on March 25, 2016 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
If Zimmer will make Superman his focus here, he BETTER make sure to develop his theme a good deal! It'll be so disappointing if we just get rehashes of MOS material once the score is done. Please, Mr. Zimmer, really make the Superman stuff count.
You got it Mike. I'll do exactly that.
Oh, if only it were that simple....lol
Hans Zimmer V Junkie XL...I like it
JunkieXL vs. HansZ: Dawn of Iconic Themes
I hope the themes will be more developed before the closing scene, UNLIKE Man of Steel.
The Music from Man of Steel was fantastic, so I have full faith in Zimmer continuing to expand the sound, music & feel he started with that wonderful score. Junkie XL did a fantastic job with DIVERGENT too, so I have no worries that he will create a great new Batman theme, music & sound for the new Batman.
I really like this idea. From what I've heard from Junkie XL, I've really enjoyed. I'm just hoping it's something very iconic, it may not last forever as one of the great themes, but as long as the theme is very easily identifiable. I'm on board.
I actually like some of Junkie's music, but for him to handle Batman...we'll see
Ah, my original idea (that Zimmer would have someone else work on Batman) was correct! As for it being JunkieXL, judging by his contributions to MOS, I find this news to be....somewhat disappointing. Still, looks like this series will have a "tradition" of JunkieXL having a heavy role (since he did a lot of the Zod stuff here in MOS, and will do Batman's music in the next one).
I wonder, is Zimmer eventually planning to hand this series to JunkieXL, so that he doesn't need to be tied down with Justice League films? :P
I'll ask him but honestly I have 0 doubt it is his ! ;)
I found the music from that trailer is really similar to MoS. Also, does the music in the teaser has anything to do with the final score? Cuz I really love that music
Hans said : "The trailer is NOT my music! You won't hear our score until you see the movie in a cinema. It's important to us to give everyone a fresh experience by not having given any of it away...Plus, you need really BIG speakers. Really BIG!"
What did the music sound like ? Did it use the main MOS theme at all ?
The music in the BvsS DOJ Teaser I mean :P
as for the previous comment, it was percussion along the deshi basara mold, nothing very exciting
Does anyone else think the last part of General Zod is great?
Best from whole soundtrack :)
Do any of you guys know if that part was in the film itself? I really want to find that scene and I've been looking everywhere!
Nope it's not in the movie... Could have, should have probably !
I could picture it being used during the last scene with Zod....or even during the final fight scene as a whole (give it a "Beckett's Death" cue kinda feel), but I wouldn't wanna trade "If You Love These People" for that.
Damn... I agree it is the best in the soundtrack. Thanks!
It is in the movie. It's called "If You Love These People".
Yeah too bad I've got the midi files to compare the two, they are both based on the same material. Just like the "Water"/"H2O" theme from angels and demons is just a reworked version of "Malleus Maleficarum".
Has Hans begun Batman vs. Superman yet? And am I the only one who thinks he will end up getting another (credited) composer to work with? Somehow I doubt he'd take care of the themes for Superman, Batman, AND Wonder Woman. If nothing else I feel like he'll let a ghostwriter work on one of the new themes.
Batman stuff simply must be done by Ramin. Even if I put my obsession with his music aside, I can't think of a better and more logical choice.
Mike, I guess it will only depend on what else Hans will have on his plate in 2015... If he spends the whole year doing a big tour, then maybe he will heavily team-work. If the tour is rather small and with few other projects, he could work with passion and a lot of creativity, like he did on MoS.
Macejko, I'm not surprised to hear you saying that :p But God I'd hate it. I'd prefer Atli getting a bigger role, I think he's one of the most talented of the current RC team, but sadly he never gets big projects.
It would probably be godly if he co-composed it with Ramin, even if Ramin only took on the Batman character.
But Atli is a god too so goddamn i dont know
Not saying this will happen, but wouldn't it be interesting if Hans got James Newton Howard onto the project? ;)
Bet ya it will be Junkie....
Judging from his big role in here, I wouldn't be surprised. Or he'll be the composer to tackle Lex Luthor, like he did most of the Zod arrangements here. ;)
I hope he won't have another credited composer, beside his usual additional ones. If we have a composer for Superman and another for Batman, why not a third one for WOnderwoman ? And even a fourth one for Aquaman ? (he'll be here, let's not forget the poor guy) I fear that it would be too much of a mess, with a great lack of unity... But time will say.
I can agree. As much as I like James Newton Howard's work on the two Batman movies, for example (and wish he had returned for TDKR), it sometimes sounds so markedly different from Hans' contributions that you sometimes feel like the score has a split personality complex.
I don't see how Djawadi is a "logical" choice beyond your bias towards him, Macejko.
First, he helped great deal with shaping Nolan's Batman without letting it influence him too much, if somehow at all. Second, his trademark raw low cellos would fit perfectly for this "old, tired and weary Batman" style they are apparently attempting to create, especially if they really are going the Frank Miller way with Batman's almost psychotic obsession over his lifelong mission. I don't know, it just feels right for me. Third, because Hans's and Ramin's collaboration would kick f*cking ass ;)
I not trying to be...one of those...who gets all defensive about credits....lol....but how did Ramin shape Nolan's Batman "a great deal"? He worked on the Ra's al Ghul theme apparently, but that theme only appeared in Begins (and very briefly in TDKR); then he did the Training cue, which does sort of "foretell" the Dark Knight theme of the next two films, but I always assumed the core of that cue was Zimmer and Ramin just fleshed it out for the scene.
I mean I guess he did more than that, but anything else would just be arrangements of Hans' or JNH's stuff, right?
Does someone know if it is possible to delete some of the songs purchased in the Z+ App? They take up so much memory space, I'd like to keep only a few of them, but I can't figure out how to do that. Anyone? :-)
Try reinstalling the app. Maybe you can download the tracks separately if the app doesn't do that automatically.
If you reinstall the app, you lose the tracks and have to rebuy them.
You don't have to buy them again, you can click "restore purchases" or just click download on the track. I've had to delete the app before and never had to purchase any of the songs again.
Okay, but did you buy them on iTunes, or did you use the promotional code of the deluxe edition?
If you delete the app, you lose the tracks.
I'm pissed there is NOT a restore option.
When I had my 4S, I had to reset my phone and I lost all the tracks.
Once again, WaterTower disappoints :(
Thank you both for your answer... but they're kind of contradictory. And I don't want to risk losing all tracks forever so I guess I'll not delete any of them :p
Pardon my stupidity here, but....what songs are in the app?
Mike, the app contains the whole 2-CD edition in dts-surround format.
Oh yeah, that's right. :)
What weed did the programmers smoke that they couldn't implement a restore option? You even have to register for the app and there's no way to safe your profile online? Glad I didn't buy any tracks.
theeaglesfan005, there is a restore option. You just have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the tracklist. It is the last thing on the page.

That's interesting knowing Mel Wesson didn't work on that score... lol
^That, and it's only 11 tracks
I want to learn more about this new character named Joe-El. Please tell me that he is Kal-El's redneck cousin.
But seriously, whatever this is, it appears to only be the first eleven tracks, not the whole thing.
Ooh ya, let's here it on this Joe-El guy
Seems to me like the first ten tracks of OST. Plus a second "I Will Find Him".
Most people probably want film version of "Flight", as the whole film AWA half the score seemed messed up to me.
I wrong wrote sorry (Joe El < lol)

It is the real complete score tracklist ? or just a fan edit ? ^^
find the mistake: official score 24 tracks your complete score 13 tracks...
I'm confused. Now the list has two more tracks and it stops at "Are you Listening Clark?". I'm pretty sure that isn't where the movie ends. Also, I'm certain that the registered track titles for the whole score aren't just slight variations of titles of track off the OST.
Joe-El's Left Nut
Why are you all even debating this? This is utterly fake and not worth anyone's time. It has 13 tracks, ffs
Why? Because I haven't played this game in a while. It's fun and funny, and I missed it.
am i really worked here? ummm i don't remember
fake Mel Wesson.. -.-
How does am grammer works?
"I want to learn more about this new character named Joe-El. Please tell me that he is Kal-El's redneck cousin."
My heart still bleeds that the 'Arcade' on the soundtrack does not sound the same as the one in the film. I honestly feel like they pulled a fast one on us (or just me) by not making the film version available. I bought the standard soundtrack & the deluxe edition HOPING it would be somewhere in there... nothing. The only way I can listen to it is by watching the film and even then it is only about a minute long & is muddled between explosions and a shouting Russel Crowe :'(
I'm a disappointed, heartbroken fan to say the least.
Can't you find it on youtube?
I have looked everywhere Zimson... everywhere. I can't find it. I don't think Mr Zimmer ever released that version.
