This album is the best!! I Love the movie and the music makes it.Does anyone know about the live performance of Fallout ?That makes perfect sense and I fully agree with you :pScience & Religion on the OST is comprised of 4m25a Black Tongue part A and 6m38 God Save Us. Hope this helps!I was never extremely gung ho about any of the films, but I do agree that there feels like a bit of charm was missing from this one. Especially in the tidy way everything wrapped up. I also found the villain to be extremely forgettable, basically a lesser version of Drago. But hey, at least the visuals were great.

And I do partially agree on the score, although I think it is hard to give a fair opinion until the music has actually been released. But while HTTYD1 has all of the best highlights and HTTYD2 (my personal favorite) has the best narrative development, I feel like this one works as a solid score on it’s own. The weakest of the three but still a pretty good score, if that makes sense.
Can someone please tell me which parts make Science & Religion and the rest of the Original Soundtrack release?I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed, movie wise and score wise. Although it's a very good score, it seems like all the highlights are when old themes come back. I'll definitely have to check it on album to see if this impression holds up, maybe it's only because I'm overly familiar with those themes, and new ones still have to grow on me (like with litterally every Powell release).

As for the movie, it felt like the charm and beautiful story of #1 have partly been replaced by poor jokes and loads of explosive action. There are moving moments here and there, but overall it left me quite cold.Assuming McQ changing up the crew for newer installments applies to the composers too, I'd certainly like to see someone else take the mantle. Would be interesting to see David Arnold tackle a different sort of spy film, or John Ottman taking a stab at it.

Though if anyone were to return, it'll likely be Balfe, just from all the buzz Fallout got. Would love to see Kraemer again, but the supposed BTS issues make that unlikely. You seriously mean to tell me "Light The Fuse" isn't fun or creative in the slightest? Probably is my favorite rendition of theme regarding just the films. III was certainly dull, but GP proved Gia had a voice for the series.

Balfe does do some cool things with The Plot, but I fail to see how his renditions of the main theme add anything new. Even the epic choir gets mostly dialed out in the final film. They're perfectly solid, but nothing that I'd say is great.I don't know if it's just me but the music doesn't sound as amazing to me like it did for HTTYD 1 & 2, granted i've only listened to the previews but i did the same for 1 & 2 and it got me hyped. I hope I'm wrong
So having seen the film I can say that this is tonally the most mature score of the series. The old themes all get their moment to shine, but surprisingly are used far less than the previous 2. There also seem to be some temped moments, with one scene using portions of “Battle of the Bewilderbeast” and so on. It will be interesting to see what is missing from the album.

In terms of new stuff, both “The Hidden World” cue and the “Fury Love Theme” are obviously the standouts. Especially in the way they develop throughout. And without spoiling anything, there are some beautiful choral moments in the last 15 minutes. As for the villain material, there wasn’t really anything distinctive that I picked up, which might change with a few listens. As everyone has said for the billionth time, NO. These are all unofficial fan-made edits or rips.Is this cd of the complete score available for purchase somewhere?I loved it a lot like you and was searching and searching with no result for a long time.... and know what? Did not forget about it UNTIL NOW!!! It was in a change room at my fitness studio when I heard a very faint sound and was tunderstruck!!! The melody I was looking for for so long!!! And Shazam helped me out: it is a song from the christians from 1995 or so, called: Words! You‘re welcome :-)))and tracklist

Pictures. Visit the official movie website for more information.

Here’s the album track list:

1. Serenity
2. The Beast
3. Suit
4. Karen
5. Baker Dill
6. Patrick
7. Memory
8. Deliver Me From Temptation
9. He Wants Justice
10. Girl at the Bridge
11. I Am the Rules
12. Plymouth Island
13. I Remember You
14. Catch That Fish
15. How We See It
16. Creator
17. Justice
18. Alternate Reality
19. It’s Dad

Saying Balfe has no imagination is beyond stupid. Take a listen at some of his work on animated movies (Home, or his work on KFP2-3), it's definitely not to work of someone without imagination.

On Fallout in particular, I honestly think he makes the best use of the classic themes in the series. That's maybe not "imaginative", as these themes aren't his, but it's definitely clever and not something every composer can do. Even an experienced guy like Michael Giacchino had 2 stabs at this franchise, and yet failed not only to give a memorable score, but also failed in using these classic themes in such a fun way.JohnWilliams Started out or rather got more into the realm of composing being doing Tv SHowsMeistermind - what’s wrong with being a TV composer ?

You sound like those idiots on Film music forum that think they know so much .The keyboard comment is exactly the nonsense said.

Fallout is one of the best action films ever in my opinion with a brilliant soundtrack.

Balfe is what in the 80s you might have called a TV composer. He has skills to get the job done but no imagination on anything. There'll be a few live bongos in the next film, a lot of supposedly live brass that sounds exactly like my keyboard, and no imagination.

That's the seemingly Chris Nolan way they want to go here. But if McQuarrie and Cruise are sticking to their mandate on making every film different, well how about (they are not going to go full Lathimos whatever), trying the Jeremy Dyson way, and go for Frank Ilfman. How about being more creative, Mansell has burned his bridges but still does excellent music but how about Richter, he can do anything, or even a Murray Gold. If you hire a pointless HZ flunkie, we'll get someone good, This used to be fine, but now with these dingdongs it is increasingly difficult
Balfe did produce both !!!!!!!!!!so ofcause they would sound related
Fallout was an excellent film and great soundtrack

Question....is "What Are You Going To Do When You Are Not Saving The World?" supposed to be on disc 1 or 2? This site lists it as CD 1 but I bought the album on iTunes and it's on CD 2.

Ds2013-06-11 10:14:10
CD1!

Mike reply Replies: 4 || 2013-06-11 07:14:53
Oh man, I can't stop listening to this score. Normally I don't go on and on about how great a score is, but Hans and his additional composers really outdid themselves. Anyone who has wanted Zimmer to get his "spark back", this score gave it to him!!! One of my favorites, no doubt. The only reason it's not superior to At World's End is because nothing is. ;)

meta2013-06-11 07:39:50
Plus side, the main score is great...

Minus side, the deluxe edition just contains temp score cues of the same music heard in the original OST with minor variation....

Jo2013-06-11 09:14:56
Personally, I love This is Madness, Earth and Arcade SO MUCH, I really would not want to miss them/the Deluxe edition.

Mike2013-06-11 09:17:52
I bought the deluxe version and don't regret it at all. I say again, well done to the folks at RCP.

Ds2013-06-11 10:13:17
Yeah, agree with meta, the deluxe edition doesn't add a lot... but i won't complain: more HZ music is always a plus side :)

No Zimmer fan's collection would be complete without Flight, the next track with the nauseatingly long title, the 28 min track, and Arcade.

Lucius2013-06-11 09:52:14
Normally I would be intensely grateful for a 28 minute Zimmer suite, especially one as epic as this, and believe me I am still, but it just AMAZES ME that the original version was 7 min longer!

is the Flight part 2 theme present in "What Are You Going To Do When You Are Not Saving The World?"?

Mike2013-06-10 09:41:00
Idk...haven't been able to hear that track. :( So far, I (USA guy) have heard the following tracks in whole:

Oil Rig
Sent Here for a Reason
DNA
If You Love These People (very big and dramatic)
Krypton's Last
Ignition
This is Clark Kent (AMAZING)
Flight (people have been saying it wasn't the real one, so maybe I haven't heard this one; either way, what I did hear was 4 minutes of awesome)

Ds2013-06-10 09:44:22
Yeah Flight was the real one :)

"What Are You Going to do when you are not saving the world" is a longer version of the trailer 3 music, nothing else. It's more satisfying because it's nearly 6min long =)

Mike2013-06-10 09:50:29
EDIT: Just listened to "Goodbye My Son" (powerful, beautiful stuff, very LOTRish) and now listening to "What Are You Going to Do When You Are Not Saving the World?". That one is, indeed, an extended (and AWESOME) version of Trailer 3.

This is shaping up to be my favorite Zimmer score. Sorry, Batman, you're great and all, but you've been outscored.

Mike2013-06-10 09:55:55
I've now heard Look to the Stars. Epic as well. This whole album is fantastic. Very thematic. I get the feeling most of the notable music heard in the movie is here.

Anonymous2013-06-10 09:58:48
Hats off to Zimmer and co. for making a great score. Hybrid Soldier, trust me when I tell you you're in for a pleasant experience whenever you see the movie! :D

Lucius2013-06-10 10:03:56
I too feel like this album will be a generally complete presentation of the score. One of the things I disliked about the releases for BB and TDKR is that so many themes were missing from the albums!

Ds2013-06-10 10:25:19
I don't know if it's complete because there's 1 hour of actual score (for a 2h20 movie), the contents of CD2 are suites and "experiments" i think. But maybe i'm wrong!

Guitwo2013-06-10 11:13:08
Ds: I think you're right. it's not the complete sessions. it's always a compilation of cues. Remember TDKR had 25tracks (album + digital bonus + suite) when released last year. And yet still a lot of missing cues that we had the chance to get few monts later.

But that's a pretty good compilation of cues that we have. One of the best after the atrocious Inception (if you compare to the complete session yeah it is atrocious) and POTC4. probably not the whole thing but enough to satisfy ourselves for a couple of month 'til the complete sessions leaked.

Ds2013-06-10 12:08:23
Actually i like the Inception album (with the 2 bonus tracks). Imo it's an honest representation of the actual score. But the actual TDKR album was weird, it's true.

Anonymusss2013-06-10 12:27:37
It's strange.. nobody is asking for the recording sessions yet? LOL

Anonymous2013-06-10 13:22:39
That is because people haven't seen the movie yet. People usually only see how crappy Zimmer his compilations are after you have seen the movie.

Although I hope this time he pulled of a good representative score release. Time will tell.

Guitwo2013-06-10 16:59:43
ds: if you compare the album and the sessions there's a huge gap between them. i'm not saying inception was awful but the album, it didn't last more than 3 months. ^^

Ds2013-06-10 17:44:34
I'm still listening to the Inception album frequently. I don't like the mix (and the volume) of the sessions, plus i find them too long so i only listen to the albums, except for a few (or a lot, depending on the movie) important missing tracks...

Guitwo2013-06-10 18:22:26
i guess it's a matter of taste. but listening to the complete sessions it wanted to rewatch to movie. I almost rediscovered it through the complete.

btw the beginning of tornado is so gladiator-like and terraforming reminds me of what Zimmer has done in the 90'. such an outstanding suite.

Ds2013-06-10 18:32:44
Yeah it's like this score was really made for his fans :)

Guitwo2013-06-10 18:52:53
the ultimate soundtrack?

i think i'll wait to watch the entire movie.
it might sound disrespectful to what JW has done through his career but i wasn't blown away by the superman theme. yes it's cult theme but not one of my favorite from him. Zimmer's theme is awesome. not saying better but different and I am more fond of Zimmer's theme. but a lot of people will disagree with that comment.

Jo2013-06-10 19:53:13
I love the entire soundtrack!!

Right now I'm just blown away by Arcade. I have it on repeat, I cannot stoppp!

Guitwo2013-06-10 20:03:53
i don't why but when i listen "this is madness" i have brian eno's force marker in my head for some reason. another awesome tune!

MrZimmerFan2013-06-10 21:39:48
I like it, not a masterpiece, but good.

I love Man of Steel (Hans' Original Skecthbook)

Lucius2013-06-11 09:44:17
Ds you're right, it isn't complete. What I meant was, most of the notable stuff is probably here on the album, so we won't have to lament that the album is missing good music (as was the case with many past Zimmer albums).

James reply Replies: 0 || 2013-06-11 09:38:52
If anyone here loved the trailer 3 music you can find it in one form or another in these tracks:

What Are You Going to Do When You're Not Saving the World? (this is basically that song in five minute form)
Krypton's Last
This is Clark Kent
Flight
Man of Steel (Hans' Original Sketchbook)

I'm glad Hans wrote something good for Man of Steel. We're not about to forget the Dark Knight Rises, that... sucked. The worst album presentation I've seen from RCP, apart from Pirates of the Caribbean 4. From what I've heard of Man of Steel, it is amazing! Welcome home, Mr. Cobb... I mean: Welcome back, Mr. Zimmer ;)

Mike2013-06-09 21:42:32
The TDKR album was bad, I agree. But do you really think the whole score, or at least the suites Zimmer wrote which became the score, "sucked"?

thejok3rrules2013-06-09 22:03:16
The complete score and the Wayne Manor Suite were pretty good actually... I remember Gordon to Foley, Batman Returns, Bruce Follows Selina, Instrument of your Liberation as amazing pieces of work! The complete score was worth the shot, while POTC 4... well, it wasn't.

Anonymous reply Replies: 6 || 2013-06-08 00:14:51
I wouldn't be surprised if, after having listened to the whole score and "seen" the score in the movie, this gets to be thought of as one of Zimmer's best scores.

Guitwo2013-06-08 02:32:42
Eventhough, TDKR re-used scues from the first and second movie I consider it as one of my favorite all time. I tend to consider Inception as an average score but as I listened to the complete sessions, now I put it much higher.

But, imo, nothing will ever top Gladiator haha :)

Mike2013-06-08 02:35:59
I concur, Guitwo. The Wayne Manor suite is one of my favorite Hans Zimmer works.

Guitwo2013-06-08 02:46:50
probably and arguably one of the best (if not the best) suite Zimmer's ever done for sure. I can't get tired of it :)

Mike2013-06-08 03:31:21
I'm hoping Man of Steel's 28 minute suite can top it! :)

Guitwo2013-06-08 03:53:42
i hope it too! i hope it too!

but there's this really epic (and I really mean epic!) part in Wayne Manor and also in Imagine the Fire with the crescendo going from low, stifled brass to really huge, strong brass that can (almost) reach the level of Barbarian Horde. This is pumping me up before i have an exam, go the gym or simple walk out in the street. it's breath-taking while being a true inspirational track! it has the "will" in it.

Meta2013-06-08 07:09:01
You know...I realize people like listening to film scores...But for some reason whenever someone says what they use the music for I kind of cringe...I don't know why. Maybe it's because it's just too personal a concept...

Attention: i think there are a lot of massive spoilers in there, i only watched the first seconds and then only listened to the music :p

JamesT2013-06-06 18:44:51
WOW, phenomenal!

Mike2013-06-06 21:11:53
I really don't think there were spoilers. David S. Goyer insisted that, like TDKR, they're keeping a ton of stuff secret. They're only letting us see what they don't mind us seeing.

Ds2013-06-06 21:16:35
Thanks Mike! as i said i've only seen the first seconds but they looked completely new so i didn't want to spoil anything :-)

If Goyer's not lying: it's GREAT news!!

MEta2013-06-07 09:21:47
Well..I've already been spoiled, but I can honestly tell you it's a definitive - albeit by the numbers - Superhero Origin Story.

Think Batman Begins and you're halfway there...The other half is the simple fact it's Superman and not Batman. But both are the same, structurally.

Meta2013-06-07 19:10:10
Only real difference in the Superman realm is this is humble "I'd rather be human" Superman...

not the "I'm a God Here to Save humans" Superman

Mike2013-06-05 21:31:55
I'm wondering that myself, but the amazing thing is that when you listen to the Flight track you can truly imagine flight happening.

Ds2013-06-05 21:37:38
The 4min track "Flight" that was posted on youtube isn't legit, it doesn't match the end of 90seconds sample :)

RIGHT! :)

Well i listened to the sample again and you're right O-cool. It's just that the track uploaded by ***** is 20 seconds shorter, but these 20s are missing in the beginning, this explains why the guitar starts playing BEFORE 1'30" ;-)

I still find that transition between Parts 1 & 2 a bit abrupt!

Guitwo2013-06-05 23:08:50
i keep thinking that this is two different piece of music. someone put the 90 sec sample from flight and add something else at the end of it. then put another sample and make it "flight"

i can't believe that Zimmer (or one of his album's editor) is able to make a poor track like this. I mean, it sounds like a compilation. These two cues have nothing in common. too different.

I doubt Flight Part 2 is just the second half of Flight. Why would there be all this buzz about "getting the FREE track 'Flight Part 2'" if it's already on the album?

anyone know the trackname in the trailer "fate of your planet" ?
i think it is ignition, but its different...

Ds2013-06-05 21:30:02
The album isn't out yet, so nobody can answer. The trailer contains the theme heard in Ignition but also something else. According to WaterTower this might the track Arcade :)

badabu2013-06-05 21:44:19

i wonder if they'll release a full stream of it soon

Ds2013-06-02 11:55:00
I really hope they will. It's the same label as TDKR last year, the same kind of marketing campaign...

Jor_El_Hans_is_the_fucking_master2013-06-02 15:13:22
Ahahaha! Hybrid! Things are getting harder, huh?:)

Last year a full stream of TDKR score was released 7 days before the album release. I hope they'll do the same here!!

Guitwo2013-06-04 15:31:34
i hope not. i hope they'll keep the entire soundtrack til the movie goes out.

Ds2013-06-04 16:45:22
Hum actually the soundtrack's out on June 11th, so anyway we'll get it before the movies opens.

Guitwo2013-06-04 17:13:30
and that sucks. that's my point.
furthermore you can buy it and wait to watch the movie first then listen at the soundtrack afterward.

Meta2013-06-04 18:04:22
WaterTower should release a stream on Youtube....

Anonymous2013-06-04 18:51:44
i hope we can listen to it soon

Ds2013-06-05 21:39:30
I asked for it on FB, watertower answered: "Damien, we're working on putting this together, you'll definitely hear about it if/when we do it!".

Don't know what it means, though :p

I'm really excited for this score and movie! I feel like this will be a relatively complete album release (where all the notable stuff is on it), as opposed to those of BB, Inception, and TDKR (TDK was excellent since it had two discs).
