Hans Zimmer is one of the biggest film composers working in the industry today. He won an Academy Award for his work on The Lion King, and has been nominated for six other films including Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, and As Good As It Gets. With The Last Samurai he celebrates his 100th film score, and SoundtrackNet had an opportunity to talk with Hans a few weeks ago during a rare break in his busy schedule working on Something's Gotta Give.<br><br>You've scored many projects during your career, and The Last Samurai is being touted as your 100th film score…<br><br>Well, I'm terrible with math, so I'm not doing the counting. It could be more, it could be less – but apparently it's the 100th.<br><br>So how did you get involved with the project?<br><br>If you're lucky enough to get nominated for an Oscar, you get invited to the Oscar nominee's luncheon where they hand out these little nomination certificates. There are usually 150 people standing there, and people are invited up in alphabetical order, starting with the As. By the time they get to the Cs, everybody's already back at their table chatting and eating, and while the first people called get thunderous applause, you can imagine what it's like when your name starts with Z!<br><br>So Ed Zwick and I were standing there, waiting at one of these luncheons about four years ago, and we started talking to each other. I asked him what he was working on and he told me about this movie called The Last Samurai, which I thought sounded interesting and I asked him to send me a script. After the script arrived, I didn't hear from him for a long time and I thought he'd forgotten about me, not thinking about how difficult it is to set up a samurai movie these days. The other thing I liked about the project was that Tom Cruise was involved, so it was like returning home, since I've scored a bunch of his movies – I knew we were going to have a good time.<br><br>Did it end up that way?<br><br>Ed and his editor Steve Rosenblum are such gentlemen, so together and professional, and they basically did one cut of the film, screened it, and everyone loved their work. So after this, they had plenty of time to come and hang with me, and while I usually love the re-cutting process because it's a diversionary tactic to keep the director and editor out of my life, these guys were great to have around. <br><br>Of course, my sense of paranoia made me think that something was going wrong all the time, waiting for the other shoe to drop, as it were, but it never happened. Ed phoned this morning and I thought, "Oh my god – rewrite!" It's just how my brain works. But I think he and I feel a bit odd now: we've been seeing each other every day for months, and suddenly we're done. I completely understand why people have a problem finishing a movie, because there's something really nice about the process – completion is far more boring.<br><br>For Samurai, you used Japanese percussions and ethnic woodwinds, without getting too 'Japanese'.<br><br>My problem is that I feel Japanese music is really inaccessible to Western ears, and I was really struggling with this film initially, trying to figure out what I was doing. This idea popped into my head for using Western-style themes, but applying a Japanese aesthetic to them, which sounds great of course, until I had to ask myself what I meant! Actually, I think it's just my way of not overloading certain things with too many colors, or being geometrically precise about my cues and not making them too flowery.<br><br>The Tom Cruise character is one of those nasty drunks at the beginning, who obviously has some serious problems he's trying to deal with, or not deal with. He's obnoxious and restless, suffering sleepless nights and is very un-Tom. For me, this character's journey was about his need to earn tranquility and peace, so within the score there's this very romantic, overblown and passionate theme. It's like a juvenile way of dealing with life and death – the pain and liebestod.<br><br>However, to contrast with these very relentless themes, there are a number of stark, formal and sober pieces, because I wanted to take Tom's character on a journey. He comes from America and ends up in this foreign place where he doesn't speak the language or understand the culture. But at the end of the movie, I want the audience to think that there isn't a more beautiful place for him to be, that he is at home in Japan and finally at peace.<br><br>There are many useless acts of bravery we do out of misguided romanticism, and this movie is full of courageous and dignified acts of bravery. So I wanted to play off these acts, since both the American and Japanese cultures have a concept of heroism, and I just wanted to see if I could play with the nature of the two different concepts.<br><br>So you didn't want to do the stereotypical Japanese thing...<br><br>Absolutely not! Take Akira Kurosawa's Ran, for example, which has this brilliant score where Takemitsu writes Western music, but with an Eastern accent. Somebody asked me a few days ago why As Good As It Gets was European – why did I write a European score for a quintessentially American story? For me, it's because Jack Nicholson was crazy in the movie, and I felt one of the great things about America is how they always think we Europeans are crazy. So by writing a European-styled score, it's my way of saying that Jack is crazy, but it's alright!<br><br>How do you feel about people who criticize your work for not fitting into the time period, like Gladiator?<br><br>The reason I take these jobs is because I'm interested in foreign cultures, and every time I get to work on a movie I'm thrown into the adventure of whatever that culture is, the time, and wherever the story's taking place. So one of the things I'm very careful about is not to be historically correct to the culture, but, on the other hand, not to insult the underlying aesthetics of that culture either. I remember watching Chariots of Fire and thinking how brilliantly the music worked, never missing that it wasn't period instruments! I grew up listening to Bach played by a symphony orchestra – it's the wrong sized orchestra with the wrong instruments, but I don't think that's the point.<br><br>With Gladiator, Pietro Scalia brought in a CD saying "this is Ancient Roman music," and I said, "Says who? You went to the Ancient Roman music store and bought an Ancient Roman music CD? Bullshit!" We're not anthropologists. Look at he costumes Ridley Scott had: they were more Napoleonic than Roman, which was perhaps fitting since Napoleon had stolen all of his good ideas from the Romans regarding how to make his generals look cool – and so did Hitler! So I got criticized for making the "Entry into Rome" cue too Leni Riefenstahl – but that was the joke! I am allowed to have a sense of humor in my music!<br><br>Earlier this summer your credit on Pirates of the Caribbean was "Score Overproduced by". What was the deal with that?<br><br>Well, I thought honesty was a virtue! But seriously, Jerry Bruckheimer quite rightly asked me not to give him "that old-fashioned Pirate music," and Gore Verbinski, who I adore and did The Ring with, said, "Well, it is a pirate movie, so we have to disguise it." In the end, I spent a day and a half writing tunes, Klaus Badelt wrote a lot of stuff, and we rolled up our sleeves, got drunk, behaved in a debauched way, and produced a score!<br><br>There was a lot of criticism regarding that score, but in the end it had to serve the film - which it did. You seem to get a lot of criticism on any project you do.<br><br>I had the misfortune of going onto the Film Score Monthly web site recently to look something up and vanity made me type in my own name. I suddenly realized that you can't ever get it right. Who do people want me to be? The guy that writes Matchstick Men? Or the guy that writes The Rock? Or the guy that writes Driving Miss Daisy? My need is ultimately to write for myself. I mock myself and I'm ironic about the way I speak about it because if I take it too seriously, it would be a pompous and boring thing to do. But at the same time I take each note I write very seriously – none of them are random.<br><br>The Internet Movie Database always lists you as being attached to multiple projects, so I was curious, what's Sharktail?<br><br>I complained to Jeffrey Katzenberg that I couldn't cross any more Red Seas, or deal with any more horses that can't speak – I wanted to do one of the fun animated movies instead. There's also a hip-hop element in Sharktail, and I haven't been there yet, so it's new territory! King Arthur is still in production, and I literally just got the first bits of footage just before you came here.<br><br>Are you working on all of these projects simultaneously?<br><br>I'm thinking about them! I'm also working with Jim Brooks on his new comedy, Spanglish.<br><br>And speaking of comedies, you recently did Matchstick Men for Ridley, which had a very Nino Rota vibe to it....<br><br>And I gave him credit! I thought, what if Nino had written the theme and I was just doing the variations? But I bet I'm going to get criticized for that because it's not like Gladiator.<br><br>So when did you last have a vacation?<br><br>Well, I went to Japan for a couple of days at the end of November for the Japanese premiere of Samurai, but look, I love what I do! In January I'll travel to Morocco because Ridley will be shooting his next movie, Kingdom of Heaven, so that's like a holiday!<br><br>My family and I are going away at Christmas, and what we used to do would be to rent a house in the mountains and go on these skiing holidays. It would be a crappy house, not as nice as the one we live in, my wife was still going to the market, and we're still washing our plates – so it wasn't a vacation, it was a lot of work! It's taken us a long time, but we just figured it out: we're not practical with vacations – we're staying at hotels! But while the Zimmer family isn't talented when it comes to vacations, we're talented when it comes to work!<br><br>I sat through Samurai the other day, and for the first time watched the whole movie from top to tail with everything finished and completed. It felt really good, better than a vacation. But luckily there were enough things wrong for me to think that I learned something from the experience, and now I can't wait for the next project to try these new ideas out.<br><br>The soundtrack to The Last Samurai is available from Elektra Records, and the film is currently in theaters. Matchstick Men is available on Varese Sarabande Records.<br><br>With thanks to Chet Mehta at Chasen & Co, Jason Cienkus at Warner Brothers, and Nina Lynch and Mark Wherry at Media Ventures for helping with this interview. I have to admit now that despite AoE being the worst of the 4, The music is the best of the 4 lol (overall).

In terms of music my ranking is (still haven't heard everything from 4 so it could change)

And in terms of the movies:

2/4 are tied for the last in my opinion.

theeaglesfan0052014-07-01 02:53:42
For me...

Although, I really love "Tomb of the Primes" from 2 and Prime's theme and how it was used in the beginning of 3

thejok3rrules2014-07-01 03:09:15
As rankings go...
Scores:1- Revenge of the Fallen (9/10)
2-Transformers (9/10)
3-Dark of the Moon (7/10)

As for the movies, I loved the first trilogy (Though ROTF and DOTM were not good as movies). I liked the first hour of AOE, but overall, I think it's the worst film Michael Bay has done since Bad Boys 2.
Movies:1- Transformers (8/10)
2- Dark of the Moon (5/10)
3- Revenge of the Fallen (5/10)
4- Age of Extinction (3/10)

D A R T H2014-07-04 18:11:54
1 9,5/10
2 8/10 & 3 8/10
4 6,5/10

As movies

As Scores

Hansy2014-07-04 22:35:16
That's a tough one and I feel that people's decisions aren't true because it's that new music phase, eventually it will wear off on ya. This is definitely a great score, different from the previous three, but to say it's the best one Idk. The Battle theme from Dark of the Moon is one of my favorite themes from all four films. Then there is the Fallens arrival music from RotF which wasn't on the initial score release. I think Steve learned from the previous releases to release more music cause I think this contains pretty much all the music or main themes

MrZimmerFan2014-07-04 22:46:23
I think the problem with Revenge of the Fallen is... the few highlights in comparation from the first Transformers, in the other side, Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction have a lot of highlights (Battle, Sentinel Prime, Decision, Dinobot Charge, Your Creators Want You Back or It's Our Fight, thats is an epic action theme), but still enjoyed Revenge of the Fallen.

Intel2014-07-05 02:06:31
I dont think the music of 4 is the best overall. AT ALL.

There's probably a couple of decent themes, most of which is Battle Cry and the new Autobot theme, but outside of that, this score is VERY minimalistic compared to the others, IMO.

The percussion, for example doesn't actually kick in until the final battle cues. This score seems very muted compared to the last ones. I mean I'll dare say it but I'm listening to the Battleship OST more than this one...Jablonsky must have changed his sound style to be more eclectic or something, because it's just not the same as before...Maybe he's tired of scoring Transformers?

Otherwise great collaborative effort with Imagine Dragons.

Ds2014-07-05 04:10:52
Seriously, I can't believe all the bad reviews this 4th film is getting. For me, it kept all the qualities and strong points of the previous movies, and managed to get rid of some of their flaws. So for me it was by far the best out of the 4 movies.

thejok3rrules2014-07-05 06:53:03
Ds, there's sometging you must have missed... AoE had a good first part, but after an hour and a half, the movie gets ridiculous, long and boring. I respect your opinion, I do. But I sincerely believe the first trilogy was better. And Shia Labeouf was more convincing in his role than Mark Walhberg is.

Intel2014-07-05 07:19:49
Well the way the new transformers transformed just looked completely silly, And if they can turn to dust then why did they let thrmselves get killed at the end? I didnt like that sfx either it just looked off putting.

Ds2014-07-05 13:06:29
thejok3rrules, I don't think I've missed anything, I was paying attention the whole time and never did I get bored, I enjoyed the hell out of it, from start to finish. I think this movie was very much representative of who Michael Bay is as a director, it has all his trademarks pushed at 200%. That's why a lot of people are hating this movie; that's why I'm digging it and cannot wait to see it again :-)

As for the music, I'm listening to Steve's score and I think it's unbelievably good. It's much softer than the previous ones, with a lot of atmospheric cues. I'm sure that's one soundtrack I'm not going to forget soon.

MrZimmerFan2014-07-05 13:12:15
I agreed with Ds, the movie is much better than Dark of the Moon (i liked, but AOE is much better in every aspect) and Revenge of the Fallen, which is more awful than DOTM and AOE, as for the score, TF 1 and DOTM, as for me, there is better than AOE, but i defiently enjoyed the score by Steve.

MrZimmerFan2014-07-05 15:52:26

As scores, TF 1 and DOTM are better than AOE

2011 ? ? ?

Adam2014-06-30 00:06:52
Are you asking if this was released in 2011, or what....? No one knoes what you're getting at

Intel2014-06-30 01:15:58
What's funny is that the Trailer 2 music is the scene when Optimus recruits the Dinobots. So you have that little score bit as well, out there, FYI.

Everan2014-06-30 01:22:38
The one that starts in the trailer when the fleet of ships is seen? That's the one!? I bloody love that one!

theeaglesfan0052014-06-30 04:42:42
@Intel, the music in trailer 2 is Lockdown's theme

Intel2014-06-30 04:50:28
Eagles, The second half of the trailer with the soaring music is the scene where Optimus fights with Grimlock and obtains them as allies...Watch the film again. That's the portion I'm actually referring to. Sorry.

Lejti2014-06-30 08:32:06
Intel: you are wrong, that was Lockdown's theme in the trailer you can hear that in the movie when Lockdown taken Optimus and the car within the girl.

Prott2014-06-30 11:06:50
Yeah, it is a theme for Lockdown. It sounds great in the movie... maybe a little bit similar to the "Baratheon theme" from GoT, but still great! :)

INtel2014-06-30 16:21:03
I dont care who's theme it is at the moment until it's listed on a tracklist.

That second half IS played when he bitch slaps Grimlock. That piece has more to it as he says "Roll Out!" and Hound is kicking ass, but that portion IS played at that time.

Maybe I'm referring to the wrong trailer? Someone on Youtube took out the SFX if you wanna look for it.

I say again: Watch the movie again. Everybody on here knows you like re-watching the flick about a hundred times,

theeaglesfan0052014-06-30 16:53:57
@intel, do i know you? doubt it

The music heard during the dinobots scene(s) in the movie are all new... wasn't heard in any of the trailers

Everan2014-06-30 17:37:25
I'm so confused right now. What's in the trailer and what's not?
Trailer 1 starts in Cade's farm
Trailer 2 with the transformium thing with Stanley's character.

Which one has Steve's work in it? FYI, saw the Dinobots scene in a bootleg crap video, and the music was indeed entirely new, from what I could hear.

Jack2014-06-30 19:04:46
So, can anyone tell me if the Dark of the Moon score will be re-released with Age of Extinction? I love the third so much, it's so sad you can't find a recording for sale... Please get back to me.

theeaglesfan0052014-06-30 19:15:21

The music in the beginning of the teaser (Trailer 1) is played during Cade's farm scenes

The music from 1:22-1:54 in the trailer (Trailer 2) is Lockdown's theme

RealFfingMusic2014-06-30 22:11:28
Apparently, Dark of the Moon Score CD is the new Lion King Complete Score. lol, some people never run out of rants . . .

Intel2014-07-01 00:20:30
U dont believe me? Fine wait for score or dvd and see for yourself....jesus christ...

Lejti2014-07-05 08:52:39

I am so glad it's finally out! ''Dinobots Charge'' is incredible.

But I am still waiting for a physical release.

Anonymous reply Replies: 2 || 2014-07-04 08:29:49
The full album is in Itunes!!

Anonymous2014-07-04 08:33:16
it is indeed. 23 tracks. iTunes album ID: id896006953. That was quick.

MrZimmerFan2014-07-04 09:36:58
Is quite decent, i love the variatons of Lockdown's theme, and certain action themes, i REALLY love the Dinobots' theme ;)

theeaglesfan005 reply Replies: 2 || 2014-07-01 15:23:11
Hybrid, do you have credits for these?

I added Imagine Dragons to Hunted & Tessa... but I like to have my scores tagged with the composers who did each track

Hybrid Soldier2014-07-01 15:33:40
2 things, cue sheets appears generally months after release, and Jablonsky cue sheets generally don't give much credit to others.

Result : we'll probably never know... lol

This may be the teaser that SJ was talking about... only 4 tracks... and ep

1. Hunted
2. Tessa
3. Autobots Reunite
4. Lockdown

Everan2014-07-01 03:47:49
Can't access it, wrong country store. Can't even access it on the US store.

Everan2014-07-01 04:16:22
Wait, just accessed it!! My God, this is even better than I thought. And it's not everything! I freaking love it!!!

God, I need to see the film, wednesday is so far away.

Brent2014-07-01 04:20:58
Yes!! So good!!!!

thejok3rrules2014-07-01 04:29:24
I sounds really great! ''Hunted'' is haunting.

theeaglesfan0052014-07-01 04:33:52
I find it interesting that Hunted is titled what is.. since it's the cue playing during the final battle

Everan2014-07-01 04:48:28
Dammit eaglesfan, you got me waaaaayyy too excited now!!! The wait is unbearable for me now!!

theeaglesfan0052014-07-01 05:36:14
Everan, so should I not say how I saw it 3 times opening weekend... all in IMAX 3D... including the Thursday night premiere :P

But trust me, it's worth the wait

MacArthur 2014-07-01 06:51:47
Are we Expecting a full release. Please tell me yes. I'm so excited.

Anonymous2014-07-01 07:26:30
These must be synth demos. Or else you'd wonder how they managed to leap through those troublesome legal works that's delaying the score album faster for these. They sound kind of synthy too, but amazing nonetheless. If these are anything to go by my favorite SJ is back!

Hybrid Soldier2014-07-01 10:11:19
It wouldn't be the first time a Bay score sounds "synthy"... They probably swallowed all the budget at some point ! :P

MrZimmerFan2014-07-01 10:31:12
I like this tease, especially Hunted and Lockdown, i waiting for the movie!

Agent Smith2014-07-01 10:45:02
Steve Jablonsky is the new Hans Zimmer!

Phil2014-07-01 12:40:13
sorry, but Hans Zimmer is Hans Zimmer and Steve Jablonsky is Steve Jablonsky ;)

Hybrid Soldier2014-07-01 15:11:44
So this EP actually has tracks not in the final release !

Damn no I have to make another page for TF4... lol

Hybrid Soldier2014-07-01 15:13:17
SJ : "The score EP has gone live! This is just a teaser, it was the best way to get something out there quickly. These four tracks are exclusive to the EP, they are theme pieces I wrote early on. The score album will have different material (including variations on these themes), and will have more than four tracks :) No official release date yet."

Adam2014-07-01 15:25:45
But Hybrid, wouldn't that be like making a separate page for the suites and unused tracks of all other RCP scores? There are suites and unused tracks for a lot of scores on here

Hybrid Soldier2014-07-01 15:32:28
No because HERE we talk about a separate official release...

The EP & the OST are 2 different things.

D A R T H reply Replies: 0 || 2014-07-01 10:11:25
a little question, can we ear the autobots, bumblebee, and others TF themes in TF4 or the score is totally new ?

Drunkenmunkey reply Replies: 1 || 2014-07-01 03:01:52
Yeah 2 had some great tracks but I just felt it wasn't as strong as the other 2 in whole. 10.000 BC, Diving for Megatron, and Model Airplanes are some of my favorite from 2.

Drunkenmunkey2014-07-01 03:02:29
That was supposed to be a reply to eagles lol.

"Wow, it looks like a lot of you went to see Transformers this weekend Thank you so much for all the love and support. I really appreciate all of the messages.

We have prepared a little score teaser, kind of an appetizer while we finalize the album. Keep an eye on iTunes this week, it should be appearing very soon, or as soon as iTunes decides to go live with it

Have a great week everyone...."

Everan2014-06-28 18:28:37
So, basically, at the end of the next week, right?

This will probably the first time in YEARS where I saw the film before hearing the score. The last one was The Two Towers, lol

Anonymous2014-06-28 18:46:42
I am guessing mid-July, early August.

Ds2014-06-28 23:14:49
Mid-July is too late, there is no point in releasing an album so late after the movie. Many people get back from the movie, were amazed by the movie, and download the music immediately on iTunes or Amazon. If it's not available, most of them will just forget about it...

Adrian2014-06-29 02:54:14
I agree with you Ds. Sadly, we could lose interest

Anonymous2014-06-29 09:29:11
Ds, I disagree. As far as I remember the score for the first film dropped in the markets much later than the theatrical run of the movie and it was (and still is) a hit.

"Score album is mixed and ready for mastering! Working hard to get this out as soon as possible. More updates soon. Enjoy the movie this weekend. It's big :)"

JStep2014-06-26 19:24:54
Does anyone know how long the mastering process takes?

Everan2014-06-26 19:32:40
Was gonna post that!!

So I'm assuming what, 1 to 2 days digital?

Hybrid Soldier2014-06-26 19:34:39
Well I hope they take some time and not rush it, cause if it's to deliver an awefully mastered album, they better keep it for themselves !

Everan2014-06-26 20:06:42
As JStep just asked, how long does it take, the process thing?

Hybrid Soldier2014-06-26 20:08:53

With companies devoted to that like Marcussen Mastering, Bernie Grundman Mastering and the others, I'd say a few days ?

But then when the mastering's done, first of all they better check it, and they probably have to have all the paperwork done perfectly...

theeaglesfan0052014-06-26 20:29:54
I wonder how complete of a release it will be... Oblivion had a complete release so you never know.

Also, things have been different this time around... didn't even get a VA album.

So you never know... lol

Hybrid Soldier2014-06-26 20:30:57
Don't get high hopes on that...

Everan2014-06-26 20:31:31
I'm guessing a 45, 50 minute release. Hopefully a full hour.

Anonymous2014-06-26 21:17:42
I do wonder why is the score release situation on these TF scores is always complicated. Marketing poly?

Hybrid Soldier2014-06-26 21:22:49
Because the scores are completed at the last minute...

theeaglesfan0052014-06-26 21:26:52
@Hybrid... i dont have my hopes up... it just would be nice lol

Everan2014-06-26 22:35:10
I heard there's a new variation of the Battle theme from DOTM, where the sounds and percussions from Battle Cry sound. Dying to hear it.
Also heard they reused themes from DOTM, and there's a new Autobot theme vairation.

Jack2014-06-27 18:28:03
Is there a chance that the Dark of the Moon score could be re-realeased with Age of Extinction? I absolutley LOVE the third, so sad you can't find it anywhere...It would be amazing, if possible!

Hybrid Soldier2014-06-28 17:40:42
Jab on FB :

Adam2014-06-29 03:54:36

I immediately caught the new "Battle Cry" version of the battle theme from DotM. It's awesome, and works really well. I hope it makes it on the OST cause it was great. I think it only played twice in the film, maybe 3

"I am really pushing for a physical release, had a meeting about it yesterday. If that meeting holds, there will be a physical release. I hesitate to confirm anything until I'm holding a copy in my hands, a lot if this is out of my control. But rest assured I am doing all I can to make it happen, and so far it's looking good."

We might get a CD after all.

Everan2014-06-27 20:11:02
He probably already saw the film.

theeaglesfan0052014-06-27 21:16:28
@Joshua, I agree... i do miss the old autobot theme... but this is the start of a new trilogy so i understand why there is a new theme

Also loved the dinobots theme... and Lockdown's theme was badass

Also, the human theme was nice... it was a nice change from the silly witwicky theme... was more serious

Joshua2014-06-27 21:53:23
Saw it last night @ Eve. I agree, the old autonot theme is so memorable but the new carries the same majesty of it. The tune that plays when optimus and grimlock throw down was so damn gorgeous Its not what you expect to hear when two giant robots are fighting. Dug the counter scoring here.

Ds2014-06-28 00:49:50
Just saw the movie, and I'd say that for the first half of the movie, the score is almost only sound design with occasional BRAAAMMM, but in the second part it gets much more musical and epic. The Dinobots cue was beyond amazing, lengthy, majestic and audible from start to finish.

The incorporation of Battle Cry was amazing, too. I couldn't believe my ears, it was incredibly well used, adding a quasi-melodramatic layer to some scenes. I really hope all of these cues make it on the OST.

Apart from that, the movie was everything you could hope from a TF movie, and even more. Bay's visual style is better than ever, all the scenes are extremely well shot, and you get a bunch of huge, huge action pieces. This is what I call a generous action movie.

theeaglesfan005 reply Replies: 2 || 2014-06-27 14:28:55
Saw the 9pm IMAX 3D premiere last night

HOLY PRIME!!!!! Fantastic movie.

SJ's score was great... the dinobots theme was beyond amazing.

And we technically have a score track... "Battle Cry".. it was used heavily two times during the movie

Ds2014-06-27 14:38:05
Exciting! I'm curious, does it sound more like TF1 or TF3? I mean, more thematic or more in the sound design territory?

Anyway I'm seeing it in a few hours. I'm just too impatient!

Lejti2014-06-27 15:10:39
Ds: There is a new Autobot theme, but you can hear once the original one from the trilogy. I think this one is more likely TF3, than TF1. Lockdown has a great theme, that was used in trailer 2 of the movie.
