Yeah, and Transformers is basically in that same vein of music, it's been played out. I'd rather hear his melodic side, and see him work on animated movies. He seemed to want to in the first film music media interview, and I'd really like to hear that side from him again. He did that with gears 2, 3 and JudgementI think Jablonsky should try to get onto a video game like Call of Duty or in the spirit of SOCOM (James Dooley<3)Would be very easy for to him to express himself. Would be a good ippurunity to create catchy melodic themes aka MW2.A fun and really nice writen score, one of my favorites this year.Sonogram, Starlings, Will & Tom, Leaving the Reservation, How It Ends, all good stuff
Atli is still the best! He also never disappoint! That's sad if it is true. I remember her from videos back in the 90's and in many photos with Zimmer himself. Is Hans no longer married to Suzanne Zimmer? I saw articles from Hollywood in Vienna that hes now married to Dina De Luca.Really fun score. Definitely on par with Elfman's effort.Chronological order is near impossible for music in an open world game.
Hello everyone, Does anyone know how I can find "Homecoming" song in the movie but the film version not the soundtrack version? The homecoming song as it was played in the film itself.was anyone ever able to put the OST and the unreleased tracks together in chronological order?Year, but seriously, these genres are where Harry Gregson-Williams always succeeded (Animation and Fantasy). I have high hopes that he will do a decent job and find back to his roots from the 2000s.i love this score so much. this comment is for Hans and team again for making such an amazing score. if they ever read what we write here lol : )

so, i am not a movie goer and many people claim and say that scores are to serve movies, and so and forth. well, i finally watched Dunkirk and it is an excellent movie. the movie did not do justice to the score imo.

here's an example. "Variation 15" on Nimrod is the "soothing" track for me in the whole score. much more soothing than "Home". i can play it in a loop. it surprised me that the cut gave it only a mere few seconds in the movie. now, i only watched Dunkirk once but i am pretty sure it played once, and for a few seconds, while "Bane" was in the plane.

another fact is that i always felt like being in a war plane when listening to "Supermarine". not an helicopter but more like a fast moving plane. that was before watching the movie and i never read about the movie. i knew it was about war and the only war machine i could think of was that. the fact that i was able to match the music with my own images says how great Hans and team were on that.

the constant tension felt in the "Mole", "Supermarine", etc. is more intense in the movie though. i liked that.

also, i watched the movie credits to the very end. i wanted to see if they would match it with the track. they did, and it ends exactly with the starting point as i expected. for me it was a cue that "the war didn't end there". sad, yes, but the effect was on point.

so okay, i am minority here in saying that a score album put together is its own thing. doesn't need a movie to exist. great movie. great score. both in their own rights!Don't want to be a downer but, really, let's all hope things won't blow to s*** like they did with Alien: Covenant or some other annoyance.
Harry gregson williams will compose mulan ??!!!!! Come on this is blowing my mind. I truly hope for hans zimmer or other great composer like desplat or silvestri. I wanted hans to score a master piece like last samurai. But no offense to harry. He is good and more than good but disney live action like mulan really wanted something special that i think the right guy is hans !Hans will cowrite the score together with Faltermeyer... :) ;)It's meHello?Great news! Can't wait to see the concert online or Blu-Ray.

where can I get this expanded OST?

JohnF2017-08-05 22:54:19
Surprised no one has commented here about the fact a label is releasing this score for the first time only on lp. Anyone know if this will get a release on cd??

Don't you think it's a little fishy that a label is releasing exactly the content of a bootleg with a tracklist I literally made myself 5 years ago, with the exact same cues missing ?

I wonder what's the story behind this... lol

Too bad they aren't using my terrible cover lol :P

I'm not an expert on exclusive rights, but I'm pretty sure that you can't just download some expanded score from the internet and publish it and sell it like it's yours. I mean when I got score from Rain Man I was so happy, until I started to play it. The quality was so bad, it was barely listenable. Then I started to search why is that and found out they didn't get the rights and (still) published some barely listenable bootleg of the score they found on the internet. Now this looks like exactly the same case, except that they found the bootleg in good quality. Ridiculous.

As for Perseverance's Rain Man, they did get the rights (as far as I know ... there was some other score there were some rights issues with, but can't remember exactly now ... think it was some John Barry score or something), but no masters was found at the studio (supossedly anyway), but they had gotten the impression that Zimmer himself would help with a master, but when that didn't happen, they decided to go for it with the material they could get a hold of. Wether it was a good choice or not ($ - wise) I don't know, but while they could have gotten all the thousands ! of $ they had spent on it back, they might not have, so... it's not like if you buy something, and then get a refund by sending it back ... a bit more complicated I guess

As a side note, where the source of the material comes from, doesn't matter. Those who release the music license the recorded music, not the mp3/flac files hat circulate (sort of).

And in many cases the material circulating on the internet is from the same (or just as good a) source (certainly for scores from the last 15-20 or so years) as whatever they use as source for the official releases.

And, as mentioned before by Hybrid, while it do look "suspicious" when something that gets an official release is more or less the exact same as what's circulating on the net, in general, I'd rather have the people doing a release, do a good enough reserach, so that they acknowledge (not necessarily by mentioning it in words, or by, in this case, release the exact same content) the unofficial material by including all they can, to more or less make any unofficial versions uninteresting.
