@Cercei<br>Hybrid can definitely answer that best. Richter’s score is used (alongside Balfe’s material) as well as some source pieces. If I remember correctly it’s a mish-mash of the two.I do know that piece, it’s very pretty. I’ll check out his other works, thanks for the recommendation. In terms of minimalism I really am into Brian Eno at the moment. His “Music For Airports” and “The Lovely Bones” are excellent if you like more introspective music.btw, you're saying Lorne recomposed and reworked the entire score. as i haven't seen the movie yet, did the producers end up with not using richters score for it at all and just used the score from Lorne?thanks for your information. but i actually don't understand why they have done that. i've heard now Lornes cues and Richters cues. all those cues from Lorne, they sound very similiar to that what Richter composed, but somehow with less melodies. And you really have to work hard to not use fewer melodies then Richter, as he's a minimalist at its best ^^ with that being said, i can't hear any groundbreaking differences from Lornes part, so what was their idea on hiring it and getting the same style of music, but in a more "light" version? :/i really admire Max Richters work, he isn't that new in this scene. his style is that repeating minimalism. maybe you've heard once the cue "on the nature of daylight" which was used a lot by many other movies. his last score which knocked me out was "Hostiles". such an emotional and intense score, you need to hear that, and probably see the movie as well (with Christian Bale). <br><br>
Really surprised at this album, I’ve never really heard anything from Max Richter but I really like what he ended up writing for this score. It surprisingly flows well for a stand alone listen. It’s funny that the producers wanted a different approach, I think Richter nailed it.<br><br>Balfe’s contribution is excellent as well, I particularly like that repeating chord progression (which is starting to become one of his trademarks considering how many times he has used it). It’s disappointing that they didn’t include more of his contribution though, since he apparently rewrote the entire score.Lorne said in his Twitter, the first album for His Dark Materials come 3rd November, no date, for the moment, for the second album.Was the producersi haven't understood the fact, that Lorne was involved in this. Can someone explain it for me? Was the director not satisfied with Richters music? Was the deadline too near? Or what was the reason why they have brought Lorne to this project?"The Wanderer", "Event Horizon", "You Have To Let Me Go" and "Tuesday (Voiceless)" = WOW WOW WOW!!!
Zanelli is no James Newton Howard, but he did a fantastic job with writing a large scale fantasy score. I’ll even say that, while I think the first Maleficent is stronger overall, I personally like the action writing better here. Also 2 little things I’ve noticed;<br><br>1. The new theme here sounds fairly similar to the Father/Son tune from KFP3<br>2. 2:20-3:30 sounds like it may have been temped from the finale of Fantastic Beasts. (Or maybe I’m just crazy lol)Great work of Zanelli, if is not as good like JNH's Maleficent, is a tremendous work, with a terrific writing and orchestrations, even the most tender parts are terrific.It’s definitely Balfe. I’ve seen the film for the second time two weeks ago so my memory is kind of hazy but luckily I decided to record the end credits for reference and I think it plays in Balfe’s section / variation of one of his themes played on a solo string instrument. <br><br>I think we got most of Richter cues as it was mainly his release. I feel that Lorne has moved on from this project - he didn’t even mention the release so an extended release of his material seems unlikely to happen :( <br><br>For those interested the credits suite plays as follows: <br><br><br>“A Trip To The Moon” (synth part)<br>“I Put All That Away”<br>Variation on the theme in “Underground Lake” at 0:14<br>Variation on the theme in “Trip To Neptune” 0-1:00<br>“To The Stars”Season 2 premieres in 2 weeks, if he was scoring he would be working on it at the moment. But yes no confirmation regarding his return or a new composer. No news regarding new composer might be a hint whether Djawadi is returning or not.I only listened to the first couple of cues so it is too early to form an opinion comparing it to JNH but I disagree the first half drags. Maybe because I love tender themes.
I suspect that the release was just what they had originally planned, with a couple of bonus tracks thrown in to appease Fox. They likely didn't put too much thought in what they added, since people who have spoken with Lorne said he wasn't aware of the release and was surprised Prayer wasn't on it. I'm just glad anything got released at all after everything that has gone before.<br><br>Regarding that theme you mentioned, is it one that sounded like the personal motif Ethan has in M:I Fallout? Because while I did initially assume that was Balfe too, it seems it was actually Richter. Haven't gotten to hear Lorne's parts yet, so who knows he if he also did a similar thing.It’s not included and I’m very confused. I think there’s a good amount of unused tracks or the way the score was used was so terrible that only few tracks were memorable to me. <br><br>There’s a theme that plays during two tragic moments - I thought it was “Prayer” but it isn’t. I think it’s by Lorne as it’s closer to the direction he took. <br><br>I wish they gave us more Balfe :(I know this is probably the wrong place for it but I'd love if Hnas would one day release a CD of just his demo sketches and suites. I find hearing the original intentions/ideas even when rough really fascinating.11.22.19Yeah lol one way or another... :P

I recently came across a spread sheet that compares and notates differences in each release of this score. It notes that the released version of No Time For Caution is Zimmer's intended version and that the film version was a result of a music editor. Does any one have the source for this detail?

For those who keep saying Atmospheric Entry is for Mann's planet please see offical FYC site for in order cues.
Atmospheric Entry is before Mountains.
your welcome

Exactly. Atmospheric Entry is when they are enter the atmosphere of Miller's planet.

Got the Star Projector set. Brilliant.
But, can anyone tell me what the Chronological order of the songs on the 2 discs should be? I'm only interested in the songs that are on the 2 discs from the star projector set, including #13 on disc 2. If there are repeats, just list them back to back note if its a repeat please.
I apologize if this was listed already. I couldn't find it.

What about No Time For Caution?
Also, Tic Tok doesn't appear in the film?

Medigo2015-01-12 20:06:02
Ticktock is just a longer version of 'Mountains'

No Time for Caution should be between Imperfect lock and Detach
Atmnospheric Entry appears to be pasted over that and 'No Need to Come Back' by accident

Boldizar2015-01-12 20:07:42
Hey,

I was working on this/wanting to know as well.

I didn't get very far:
Stay – Coop leaves home
Mountains – Wave scene
Atmospheric Entry – Mann’s planet
Coward – Climax scene
Imperfect Lock – self explanatory
No Time For Caution – Spin Docking
Where We’re Going – Hospital through End

First Step – Teaser Cue

Are we sure that Atmospheric Entry is for the first planet? The entry to that planet was all sound effects from the ship and fast entry. This music itself doesn't fit with it either. It sounds more like the ice cloud section.

Ds2015-01-12 20:26:10
Boldizar, yes 100% sure. I remember it from the last time I watched it in the cinema. And if you don't believe me, the track order of the FYC album doesn't lie :-)

Michael2015-01-12 21:30:04
Ok, for the tracks in the "Not In The film/Suites" section, could you possibly list what they are?
Like: Extended version of.....or not in film at all, or contains portions of....."
Thanks so much for the info :)

Boldizar2015-01-12 21:42:33
@Ds: Good point!

@Michael
Day One is essentially the overture. The main theme(s)

Murph is a suite that is a variation of Stay and Detach. The music in this film is all meant to relate to Murph and Cooper's attachment. This piece relates the two together directly. for example: The "triumphant" sort of theme(I think)in Detach is meant to signify Cooper letting go of his want to see her again (for good reasons and to help others, but coming to that decision in general). Anyways this piece, to me, relates how the two are connected.

Organ variation (is extremely boring and lame) is a variation of Day One, almost the same, except the organ plays one mid-low range tone as a bass instead of the other things that go on. Very Boring. I thought we were going to get a nice powerful organ version, not one bass not underneath keyboards.

Tick-Tock is a suite variation of Mountains, again longer than, and not really necessary for anyone to hear. It may be a demo of the original score prior to real instrumentation as I believe Day One Dark is.

Day One Demo - Original Zimmer piece composed for film. Base music

Boldizar2015-01-12 21:44:43
Edit*

RE: Murph - the triumphant part of Detach is also, almost the same as the end of Stay, although going along with my idea, Detach is much more accepting and bright.

Hybrid Soldier2015-01-12 21:47:06
Correction, Mountains is a varation cue of Tick-Tock, not the other way around... :P

Michael2015-01-13 02:12:45
So wait, which version is heard in the film?
Mountains or Tic Toc?

badbu2015-01-13 06:13:45
Mountains

Boldizar2015-01-13 12:39:46
@Hybrid
haha yes, that would be correct. I am not sure how you are affiliated with Zimmer, but can you confirm weather or not Day One Dark, Tick Tock, and (I am guessing as it is lumped as a bonus track) Murph are demos, or at least score pieces prior to live recording?

Michael2015-01-13 14:01:46

I only have Day One......

Quantifiable Connection?!

What about Day One Dark ?

badbu2014-12-15 18:38:14
Day One Dark is a free track...

theeaglesfan005 2014-12-15 18:47:48
It's 5 new tracks

It's a shame that No Time For Caution will not be released on any discs :/

Ports2014-12-15 19:00:04
So? Those 4 tracks are the "35 minutes of extra music that is unavailable elsewhere"..that is what the original site said was on disc two.

theeaglesfan005 2014-12-15 20:17:06
5 tracks*

Who's They?... assuming it's the FYC version (7:18)
Murph I'm hoping is Quantifiable Connection from the FYC (3:30)
Organ Variation... probably a suite
Tick - Tock... probably a suite
Day One... probably a suite

So i can see the 35 minutes

NM2014-12-15 20:29:06
'Tick Tock' might be 'Day One Dark'! It might all end up being music we've heard! Guess we'll find out soon.

Ds2014-12-15 20:31:48
NM, I think Tick-Tock may be something related to the beginning of Mountains, where we clearly hear a clock ticking. Organ Variation, however, may be Day One Dark.

Ports2014-12-15 21:09:05
I can go for some long suites...just get the box shipped PLEASE!

theeaglesfan005 2014-12-15 22:30:11
Ds,

I doubt Organ Variation is Day One Dark

Mike2014-12-15 23:48:31
If Who's They? is the same cue as from the FYC, I'll be one happy guy! I enjoyed that one. The other tracks could be anything, meanwhile. We will see. :)

JamesT2014-12-16 03:50:03
I'm thinking...

1) Murph is somewhat lengthy demo suite that encompasses the love theme, parts of Years of Messages from the FYC, her return to the house, etc.

2) Who's They is the same great track from the FYC

3) What if Organ Variation has something to do with the Dock Scene?

4) I think Tick - Tock is the Eureka scene when you see the watch hands moving

5) And, Day One is the track that was a promo with the movie ticket purchase

We will see...

badbu2014-12-16 07:59:17
I think "Day One (Original Demo) " is the first first version from hans for chris :-)

Tim2014-12-16 10:11:31
I'm very happy to Finally see this! If you add No Time For Caution from the iTunes release and the Don't Go Gentle Into That Goodnight poem track, that's more stuff. Compared to most Zimmer releases, this has been the most substantial. We got more music from this movie than from Man of Steel. I can't wait to have this!

theeaglesfan005 2014-12-16 14:31:49
badbu,

that would be awesome... to hear the first track/theme that Hans composed for the film :D

Mike2014-12-16 16:01:44
What Tim said. Two years ago, we'd not have gotten anything close to this.

bro2014-12-17 00:26:16
judging by what hans has said in interviews, day one (original demo) might be closer to "Years of Messages" than it is to the refined main theme we have now.

theeaglesfan005 2014-12-17 15:08:45

Tim2014-12-18 20:31:43
I'm not saying the poem track was good. It's my least favorite thing, but it does have Zimmer's music in the background and it is part of the total time on the deluxe iTunes version.

Has there been any news about Day One Dark? I didn't have the chance to get it from the movietickets.com promo.
If I had to download only one track from the whole soundtrack, it would be that one, and I can't download it anywhere without getting crappy quality from ripping it off youtube or something :(

Boldizar2014-12-19 16:53:11
@Crovey

I have not seen it as a download anywhere besides youtube either :/ I thought for sure it would be on Disc 2. It sounds like it is a piece from Hans' original score prior to re-recording with real instruments, so a "demo" of sorts.

Ryana2015-01-13 17:39:05

Alan reply Replies: 14 || 2015-01-09 21:07:25
Hans Zimmer is my favourite composer, but his soundtrack releases are always left feeling so incomplete and odd to me. Don't get me wrong, I love my Dark Knight scores and Inception and Interstellar, among all the other one's he's done, but all of them exclude at least two theme's I'd hoped for.

Maybe how Howard Shore and Jackson did The Lord of the Rings scores completely spoiled me... because now I hope for the entire score, and not just a selection or "best of" with parts that differ from the actual film. I get that things change (hell, even some score from The Hobbit "films" are different from what is on the soundtrack via last minute mind-changes, but even then I bet you they will be released when they release the Complete Hobbit scores like what was fixed and released with the Lord of the Rings Complete scores), and I get that I don't have the right to "deserve" what I heard, that they owe me nothing, but damn... it leaves you feeling like a band has released a really great single for their new album, and you wait and wait for that cd to drop; but when it does, that song is not on it and you can't get it anywhere and the radio's/streaming sites stop using it.

It just makes me sad that in 2015, we still have to live on unofficial FYC bootlegs and DVD/Bluray soundtrack rips for a complete score because record labels or composers or directors, I don't know, don't take their score releases seriously.

Maybe one day a person can get a cd or FLAC or WAV or vinyl of an entire and complete score right up front, and not an unorganized three month wait and $40 later for "variations".

Any one else feeling let down by this "Star Projection" edition? Really, I'm starting to feel they put more work into the packaging (hence why it's named after it) than they did the music. I guess I know next time to really judge something by its name and not what it promises.

Alan2015-01-09 21:11:21
And before anyone jump down my throat, back in November when they released the score and it was missing "No Time For Caution" and everyone freaked, and then Hans released it, but it was still not the complete song and everyone freaked, I kept my cool. I tried to be patient, awaiting this seemingly cool, ultimate edition of the score. I even judged people freaking out on here, thinking them selfish and ungrateful to Hans and even Hybrid....

But now that the Illuminated Star edition is here, I'm really feeling those from November who were bummed about the missing tracks. Oh well, I suppose.

Boldizar2015-01-09 21:37:49
I hear you.

Why can't they release the FYC that was uploaded online? Even as a separate edition (standard, Illuminated, FYC) it would be great to have.

Mike2015-01-09 21:40:06
Well, I, for one, have just accepted that even if they release more music officially (Quantifiable Connection), we'll never get a film version release of No Time For Caution. What we got is all we'll get.

Alan2015-01-09 23:01:04
I know, Boldizar... it would make sense, right? Hans went to the trouble, for every score (well, some of them he seems less interested in) so why not release all of it? I work at a music store for my measly living; I get and I understand the minds of the record labels: they don't want to put money and effort into a release that will only appease a small crowd of people. There's no money to be had from such a release. But it does not cost so much to release such things digitally.

Don't want to make a booklet? Don't want to make the order to manufacture the cases and printings that go with it? Release it digitally in all forms: FLAC, WAV and 320 MP3. That way the music is at least released. Or, if a physical copy must be had, like I said before, release a limited edition "Complete Recordings" like Shore and Jackson did for The Lord of the Rings and will probably do for The Hobbit. Those cd's were beautiful and jam-packed with great information and liner notes, and of course, every single second of music. The cases were even made to match the Extended Edition dvd's with their theme of looking like old, worn books. Right now you can't get those without paying a user on Amazon a lot of money, but when they came out, they were reasonably priced and well-made. I bought them instantly and still listen to my FLAC's on my computer all the time.

Maybe it's more difficult than we realize to release a score soundtrack... but I still refuse to believe the film mix of "No Time For Caution" doesn't exist somewhere because it obviously does, I think they're just being lazy. Like Lucas did before when defending never releasing an unaltered version of Star Wars because the negatives were "permanently" altered by his new additions. Since then Disney has announced they're working on unaltered versions of the original Star Wars films to be released, solidify everyone's theory that Lucas was just being a lazy shit. I refuse to believe an artist doesn't keep multiply version of everything they make. Be it Version 1 or Version 100.

Anyway. But maybe I don't know anything. Maybe I'm just hopeful and naive. But it just seems so... simple. Obvious. Easy to release a score correctly.

Alan2015-01-09 23:04:58
I think I have too, Mike. Maybe someday down the road, when they do a retrospective look back at Nolan's films or Zimmer's score's we'll get a complete release, or one with "NEVER BEFORE HEARD MUSIC" (again), but until "then", I agree with you, and I'm pretty sure the "No Time For Caution" is all we'll get. And truthfully, I'm not sure we'll ever get "Quantifiable Connection" either.

Sadly, I think the closest we'll ever get is a scratchy FYC or a Bluray soundtrack rip with background sounds.

So unless someone befriends Zimmer or Nolan on a very personal basis, and can get ahold on the full score, what we've got is what we're going to get.

Mr. X2015-01-10 14:05:16
Alan,

I truly feel you. I share the same sentiment regarding the release of this amazing Zimmer score and several others. It has been 14 years and we still sadly don't have a clean version of "Let My Home Be My Gallows" from the Hannibal score without dialogue.

Like you, I am baffled by these decisions to exclude or alter certain cues from great soundtracks. I have been involved in several aspects of the recording industry and I can indeed confirm that there are "vaults" in which the studios hold and own the rights to each used and unused cue they paid for. It's just one part of the standard contract when hiring the composer. Most of the time, only studio editors get access to the vaults just to temp their latest rough cut.

So, when it comes to obstacles regarding ownership, distribution, and performance rights issues, I can understand the omissions. But with score growing in popularity, it is still hard to see these track issues still happen. Thankfully, things are about to change...

This poor release of Interstellar has actually become a positive turning point for score lovers everywhere. In a remarkable fashion, our passionate plea for "No Time for Caution" was heard. And even though it wasn't the version we wanted, it was enough for someone to dedicate their time to recreate the track we all wanted to hear: ### EDITED ###

We are now getting to a point where audio technology and sample libraries are getting better and more accessible. Unrecognized sound and music maestros on YouTube are now leading this charge in recreating what we feel has been denied. As I write this, I am enjoying the fixed version of Quantifiable Connection due to the amazing efforts of this YouTuber: ### EDITED ###
A version that I am more than pleased with.

And if any of you know Zimmer, then you know he spends a lot of his downtime watching YouTube listening to undiscovered musicians. He is fully aware that people are now taking the lead in crafting film accurate versions of his work. Perhaps, the real reason why we still don't have a non-dialogue Hannibal score is because he is waiting for us to recreate it. ;)

bro2015-01-10 14:34:44
I'm the guy who made the NTFC fan made version you linked and I agree with every word you just said. Especially with "Let my home be my gallows", maybe something could be done about that.

Medigo2015-01-10 15:06:00
so the voices cant be extracted from that cue with a program?

bro2015-01-10 15:10:25
I haven't checked but I don't think so, unless you get it from the DVD/Bluray

Mr. X2015-01-11 08:42:58
@bro

Thank you very much for your truly fantastic effort!

As for Hannibal, I did my best to cut the vocal frequencies (3-7kHZ) for both the Pazzi Theme and Gallows. I can barely hear the dialogue and SFX now when using external speakers at medium volume. However, the background noises do become noticeable if listened through headphones.

NM2015-01-11 10:40:49
"This poor release of Interstellar has actually become a positive turning point for score lovers everywhere"

I don't understand how you can say it was a 'poor release'. Even without the FYC, nearly every single major cue, and all the suites have been released.

Boldizar2015-01-12 21:50:03
@Alan:
I used to work at a local music store as well and I was very surprised how many people came in to buy the Inception score. If anything Zimmer is the one composer who has a fan base to sell too, although there is plenty of general soundtrack interest as well.

Regarding the Star Projection edition: I got mine and am pretty let down by the "extra" music. Most of it is the same thing over and over, like Tick-Tock and Murph. Murph is the only bonus track I like because it sonically connects Stay and Detach (which I relate together in my analysis). It is still to long though. Then Organ variation, just wow. It is so lame I can't believe it.

Alan2015-01-13 07:38:57
MN, I think what "poor release" means is that this entire process has been, well, poor. The CD came out two weeks after the film, which I got: Hans and Chris wanted everyone to hear the score first with the film, but a lot of folks were off-put by that. I had to go to three different stores before I could find my copy, and even they had to go into the back and find it. I work at a music store and we didn't get our first copy in until mid-November, even though it was on order. At the same time of the CD release the iTunes deluxe version came out as well, but neither version had the theme's people really wanted: "No Time for Caution", so we hoped and asked for it, and eventually they released it, making us pay $2 to get it, and it wasn't the "film" version, but one that was shorter and not as full, missing a great deal. We were all upset. So then we put hope into the FYC version, which when it leaked, ended up being the same track, but the FYC did have a track we were hoping for as well: "Quantifiable Connection", but, being a 3 minute something song, the part we were all waiting for starts RIGHT when the audio starts messing up via a bad rip or a messed up CD that was then ripped poorly. Once again, disappointment. So we all put out hope for the Illuminated Star edition, hoping those final songs would be on there. Guess what? Neither were. So yeah, at the end of the day, it's pretty great to have what we ended up getting, but after four releases, and those two most desired songs are STILL not out, I'd say that it's been a pretty poor release.

Ds2015-01-13 08:26:39
Alan, I think you're right. It's not stupid fanboying to say that the people who handled this CD release seem to have no idea of what the buyers want to hear.

I think we got a lot of great music, but after 4 different releases and over 2h of music, one can expect that no significant cue will be missing.

Alan reply Replies: 0 || 2015-01-13 07:24:39
Just a quick side-note... some time ago, right after the film came out, I saw an article that gave a SLIGHT insight to the making of the score, and in this article was a picture of Hans playing keyboard wearing a nice pair of headphones. I'm currently in the market for new audiophile-grade headphones and in my mind Interstellar's score seems to be a good basis to figure out which pair is best! Anyone know that photo? Or know what he uses? I figure whatever Hans used for Interstellar would be a good place to start.

He won a golden globe for it and Gladiator

His Grammy's are: Lion King, Crimson Tide, and TDK (w/ JNH)

IDK if he would've won last year (He opted out)

And, how do you like the new tracks? :)

or what the other new shit is

Kurt2015-01-09 01:02:12
Currently on the track Murph. At first I was disappointed, it seems like a longer version of "I'm Going Home
but then around 8 min into the song I changed, in a great way. Me likey!

Kurt2015-01-09 01:03:32
@Mike

No Time For Caution is indeed on the 2nd CD. But it's missing from the back of the CD sleeve itself. Seems like they tacked it on in the end.

Kurt2015-01-09 01:10:56
@bro

Organ Variation is a... organ variation of Day One... Not as bombastic as Day One.

theeaglesfan005 2015-01-09 01:25:11
is the end credits from the IMAX included on any of these?

And is No Time For Caution the same we have now or different?

@theeaglesfan005

I didn't get to see the IMAX version, so I can't answer you on that. However, the No Time For Caution sounds the exactly the same.

theeaglesfan005 2015-01-09 01:32:01
It's a 5 minute piano piece... beginning is Who's They then I think Quantifiable Connection and then ends with What Happens Now?

No, there are no piano pieces.

Kurt, could you give us a description of what the new tracks are?

Kurt2015-01-09 15:40:26
@JamesT

Murph is a longer version of "I'm Going Home", but around 8:00 min in more instruments join and I don't remember this version in the movie.

@Gunther

The new track times are at the top of this post.

@Ds

All the tracks are basically long variations of songs already featured on the soundtrack. That being said, they're good variations. Some of this songs I don't recognize from the movie.
Tick-Tock is my favorite because it adds additional instruments and choir.

Kurt2015-01-09 15:57:19

Organ Variation is an organ version of Day One.

I love the new cues, however, I'm still patiently waiting for a good quality version of Quantifiable Connection. *sigh*

And by the way, 2 months on, and all I can say is that this score is truly a+mazing. I loved it right away, but now I'm deeply in love with it.

Meta2015-01-11 22:42:47
I'm not much for Zimmer's current experimental "jazz" phase with his music, but I figure eventually it will lead to something more tangible and greater down the road...

Its either that or I'm just not into his current collaborators, like Junkie XL....

Still, this soundtrack only had about 3 or 4 tracks I can actually be satisfied with as a whole sampling of the score. The rest of just extended./aternate/demo pieces I dont really care for....

Otherwise, Cant wait for Chappie....

I'm sure this has been raised somewhere in this forum already, but the fact that MyPlay Direct isn't direct enough to ship the "Illuminated star projector edition" across the Canadian border is ludicrous! WTF

Well apart from the illuminated edition, I guess those who want the close version would be ready to buy an album if it's the same as the FYC.
Will there be a petition for this? I mean I know that Dark knight is great. But, Inerstellar OST[FYC]is a necessary.

Does anyone know what S.T.A.Y. anagram stands for (if anything)? Also what scene does the cue belong to?

Does Where we're going encompass the whole end scene?

Ds2015-01-09 13:53:27
SPOILERS!

S.T.A.Y. is not an anagram, it is just "stay" in morse code! It plays during the scene in which Cooper is trying to communicate with Murph from behind the bookshelf.

And yes, Where we're going plays up to the end of the movie.

RealFfingMusic2015-01-09 18:00:17
@Ds, STAY in Morse would look like ... __ .__ __.____, which does not make any sense. Hence, the first letters in CAPITAL, with spaces in between.

RealFfingMusic2015-01-09 18:02:01
In place of "which does not make any sense", you can put "which does not look very sexy". :P

Ds2015-01-09 18:08:53
Haha, yes, I guess you got what I meant, of course it's not morse litterally speaking :p

Boldizar2015-01-09 21:36:47
How is it in Morse code as an anagram? Not all of the letter with a dot. Does a single dot distinguish on character from the next?

Ds2015-01-09 22:29:00
I think when you send a message in morse code, you let a small time gap between each letter. And, actually, STAY is ... - .- -.--

They basically ship the package to your local US Post Office branch and then they actually deliver it to you, not UPS. Which has a high chance of your package getting lost or delivered to the wrong person.

Gotta love MyPlay.

6. Message From Home

18. S.T.A.Y.
19. What Happens Now? (slightly longer on album?)
20. Where We're Going

And then assuming "Who's They?" from the illuminated version is Who's They? from the FYC promo, it would go between Dust and Stay...

Then "Day One" is a suite and "First Step" is the teaser music?

Bolidzar2015-01-07 12:46:38
Hey ZeePlus,

MP3's are like putting an audio source into a soup can (or any sort of filter). The sound emitted and frequencies available for your ear to pick up are limited in various ways. With a lossless file the waveform will have no (or less) filtering as to frequencies above and below the general 20hz-20k hz range the human ear responds to, and if you can hear those frequencies then you will notice a fuller sound. Also the waveform will have higher resolution or more "data points" as the wave form changes. This could result in a "smoother" sound thought I doubt any notable difference will be discernible.

zeeplus2015-01-07 15:30:40
Hi Bolidzar!

Thank you very much for that detailed reply. However what I am looking for is more of an answer relating to the Z+ app tracks. They can't be mp3s as they are too large and so I am wondering what type of file they are and their quality in terms of bitrate, etc. Basically I don't want to waste $25 on the HDTRACKS.COM tracks if the Z+ app ones are as good as it gets. If the HDTRACKS.COM ones are better, then I want them.

bro2015-01-07 16:00:10
I have both, get the HD Tracks.

Mike2015-01-07 16:25:34
Does No Time for Caution sound any better as an HDtrack?

zeeplus2015-01-07 16:46:02
Thank you, bro! I think I will get them then, I was kinda swinging that way anyway. Not that I don't believe you but does anybody else want to chime in before I hit "complete purchase"?

Boldizar2015-01-07 17:24:40
Sorry I have no clue what the bitrate is for the Z+ tunes. Even if they are lossless they are probably only 16bit or maybe 24. Plus HD tracks is the deluxe version of the release.

@Mike
No Time for Caution is the same mix as the deluxe edition, so mostly strings, not as much organ as the FYC.

Boldizar2015-01-07 17:26:09
That should say: they are probably only 16 bit**

Hello. Here's a good question: Which will be better, the HDTRACKS 24bit files, or the Z+ app music? I know the Z+ app is supposed to be HQ, surround, etc, but I cannot find any info on the actual bitrate, etc especially as the physical files cannot be located on my phone. The standard mp3 download is only 240k which I was pretty shocked by as I expected them to be 320k until I investigated.

Thanks

zeeplus2015-01-06 04:13:15
Sorry, I meant 256k. lol.

zeeplus2015-01-06 04:18:14
Sorry, I meant 256k. lol.

Upon further investigation, the entire Z+ download is 392MB. Now, there are only 16 tracks in this version so that would be an average of 24.5MB per track, but obviously some tracks are much longer than others and so they could easily be over 30MB. That's pretty huge. I have no idea how large the HDTRACKS.COM file sizes would be, for comparison. Hope this helps.

I am pretty sure that Music on Vinyl teased Interstellar, so it's going to happen I believe. It will be my second vinyl, if so. District 9 is my first. :)

Good music from Hans, but let's face it: this soundtrack release has been a huge mess from start to finish :p

It really has!

Killall2014-12-21 04:41:08
Imagine if this happened :

Ludwig Van Beethoven writes the 9th Symphony, and after months and months of perfecting and fine tuning his genius, he finally reveals his vision to the world.

At the same time, a theatre group decides to use this amazing work of art as the background music to a play....

Some theatre audience members who were lucky enough to have experienced both versions of the symphony Are not happy that the theatre changed one of the movements from the original composition to make it fit better with the plays narrative...

These same audience members camp outside Beethovens residence shouting their demands, him to fix it. "FIT IT NOW!!" "THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!" Etc etc

Think about it.

Hans is a modern day Beethoven. He is a genius who composes stunning, unequalled works of art. Interstellar is his most recent masterpiece.

Who are you to question him?

Think about it.

What does that have to do with a distribution companies screw up???
All I want is my CD I ordered two months ago so I can listen to the man's music that IS great.

Tazz2014-12-22 21:37:58
Killall : Ok make perfect sense but only if the CD Title is not "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" of blablabla, but "9th Symphony by Ludwig Van Beethoven".
