Zimmer and Djawadi are nominated for Grammys this year along with Hildur,Alan Silvestri,Marc ShiecmanTom's score for Justice League was basically a mix of Mad Max and Deadpool. Zack wanted to go with a different approach for the score and make it more "fun" than serious. He didn't want a Zimmer sound for the movie.I noticed that the other day as well on IMDB. I know thatís not always reliable, but that would be awesome if he was involved. Iíve missed the ďfunĒ side of Zimmer for awhile. The next couple of years hopefully produce a number of Zimmer classics.Whoah Whoah Whoah Whoah Whoah. Whoah. Space Jam2?! You arenít serious.I hope this one will leak very soon! A lot of great music that isnt released
Hybrid, is Zimmer really attached to Space Jam 2?

Will Hans Zimmer be coming to London in 2021 pls? Thanks MonicaWhy won't concert in Poland?! I love Hans Zimmer and his music and I was really waiting for it!! Last time in Cracow it was the best time ever for me! :(Isn't anyone except me wondering what kind of sound that 2-tone-pattern is? Is that something like ring-modulated strings? Or even FM? Sure it is something layered.Anyone own the 24bit FLAC version? I bought it expecting to here a difference between that and the mp3 version and they kinda sound the same to me. Just curious on if anyone else had the same observation.
Upon revisit, this score is by far the best of the entire Call of Duty franchise. A wonderful main theme, exciting, varied, and climactic action music for the British missions, and a strong amount of atmosphere.

The only annoying part is the American missions' action music is on-the-nose and terrible until the nuke cue, and there's a little too much reused tracks for my taste.donít worry about it @Eobard
With the timing, I wouldíve thought the same if I didnít already know about the brass library :)Well for sure it became the worst timing ever for Tom...

He must be watching twitter sweating right now lol. I also want the Snyderís cut and JXLís score to be released, but setting up expectations about the score when itís clear that Tomís post has nothing to do it is just kinda unnecessary.
Couldn't agree more Edmund. He's got both the orchestra and synths (and his great guitar usage) down very well. Similar to HGW IMO.

He's also a very interesting interviewee (that accent always seems to help).

Which scores have had electronic elements edited off of the official releases? And do the missing elements appear in the complete scores/sessions?In a year, like Enos saysIs there a page for the complete score of this film? Thanks."LOL" Relax, Ahmad.

People are working really hard to release the movie and with it will come Junkie's score too.

LOL! The only thing thatís coming is his brass library which he has been working on for quite some time.

Interstellar is easily the best score out of that bunch. Please GOD not Trent Reznor.

Scorefan2014-12-11 19:54:25
The winner will be between: Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat and Johan Johannsson.

Ds2014-12-11 23:45:42
Hans posted this on facebook:

"I'm so thankful to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for recognizing not only the music of our film, but also the universal story that Chris, myself, and the entire crew worked to encapsulate in every aspect of Interstellar Movie. Thank you for coming along with us on this intense and very personal journey.
- Hans"

I think it's really funny because Hans is being very humble, trying to share the honor with the whole crew, while Interstellar actually received only ONE nomination, which is for best score. So in fact they recognized only the music of their film, nothing else...

Zimson2014-12-12 07:06:08
Not surprised but delightfully impressed. Hope you'll get what you would have already deserved before. :)

Zimson2014-12-12 07:10:57
@Edmund Did you see the film? I thought Reznor and Rose did a great job on it. There was one particular scene that really impressed me.

Frank2014-12-12 08:33:40
Comparing to Trent Reznor, the worst scenario is that Antonio Sanchez get the Golden Globe

Mortifer V.2014-12-12 08:52:32
@Zimson, even though Trent's score was perfect for the film, it doesn't deserve the award and it doesn't come anywhere close to Interstellar.

smitty2014-12-12 10:19:41
Zimmer is like DiCaprio. Always some great perfomances and THE ultimate candidate for the Oscar, and what is? Someone else is getting it...

Edmund Meinerts2014-12-12 11:03:08
No, I didn't see the film because I'm not a fan of David Fincher's nihilistic worldview at all. And I hate pretty much everything about Reznor's approach to film scoring (i.e. slap an ambient drone over everything).

RealFfingMusic2014-12-12 11:55:45
Let it go, people. Oscars were not created by the Gods, or fifth dimensional Doctor Whos of the future! Most of us will agree that the judges there have a taste as good as Edmund above, with an unrelenting hatred of non-drama film scores.

So literally, this movies soundtrack has never had such a major effect on me than any other movie. The track "Dust" is just so beautiful, it has been stuck in my head for a month and it makes me depressed at times and reminds me of the day I saw this in IMAX with my friends and family, wishing I could go back to that incredible moment. I'm not even sure why it makes me depressed, but I love it. Hans Zimmer is truly an incredible composer, his music never fails to touch me immensely. Of course, all the other tracks are incredible as well, but "Dust" easily makes me teary-eyes. Bless you, sir.

Kendo2014-12-08 19:54:28
I completely agree with you. I saw the movie for the first time about 3 weeks ago, bought the soundtrack as soon as I came home and have been listening to it in my car, at the gym, everywhere. I can't stop listening to it, it's mesmerising.

I just got back from seeing the movie for the second time at the giant IMAX in London, it was the most amazing movie experience I've ever had. The floor to ceiling screen and the extra height IMAX scenes were breathtaking. But as soon as the movie started and the score started playing it was like I knew the movie, and felt more part of it than ever. Almost had me in tears a few times, especially when Cooper sees Murph for the first time as a grown up. Having young kids yourself makes you blub a bit more easily I guess! The docking scene on a 20 metre high screen was jaw dropping! I want to go back again already..

So all this high-frequency noise / frequency spikes I mentioned earlier on many tracks of the soundtracks maybe come from a CRT/light/etc. (with an flyback transformer) used at the recordings? A CRT can be seen in the OST making of near the organ..

I'm not the only one who has noticed this and is bothered:
www.reddit.com/r/audioengineering/comments/2mszh4/whats_up_w ith_this_spike_at_around_157khz_on_the/

If this is true, these sound engineers did a really bad job. I mean, this wasn't at all a low cost but a multi million dollar production! Is everyone working there too old to hear this? Why did no one asks people (young enough) with a sensitive hearing to relisten these recordings? Why hasn't frequency analyzers been used?
Questions over questions. You can't deny something has gone wrong with these recordings.

Downloaded the MP3s and received the full Z+ App music for my iPhone. The Z+ App DTS tracks are just gorgeous! SO MUCH RICHER THEN THE MP3s!!!

I can't wait for the physical set!!

ShawnS2014-12-05 08:42:10
Minor issues with the Z+ App is that the songs actually flow together, but the Z+ App stutters between songs. Throws off the flow unfortunately.

Also, it appears that if I buy a new iPhone I will lose all of the purchases from the Pre-Order.

For years now I've thought that soundtrack composers for major feature films have been producing the best music bar none. And Hans Zimmer is among the true elite of that corps.

Anonymous reply Replies: 15 || 2014-11-26 13:02:30
So, a small recap of the facts

1. Score release weeks after the movie
2. Three special editions of the same score while one is US only and is only released in december
3. The score is missing the dock scene, the most iconic track everybody want. Fans disappointed everywhere.
4. Zimmer releases the missing docking tracks but it doesn't sound at all like the movie. Fans disappointed everywhere
5. The complete FYC of Interstellar leaks from the Paramount website. It still doesn't contain the original docking cue. Furthermore the other most requested track people want is damaged with sound artefacts due to improper ripping.

This soundtrack has been the biggest f*ckup since I started following soundtrack music in general. It is laughable :)

Mpo2014-11-26 13:06:51
Please stop complaining! We got the complete bloody score less than a month after the release of the movie, god damnit..

Hybrid Soldier2014-11-26 13:48:19
"It still doesn't contain the original docking cue."

What did I say, the cue doesn't even exist in the final mixes... lol

theeaglesfan005 2014-11-26 14:10:07
The FYC is also missing:

What Happens Now?
Where We're Going

Anonymous2014-11-26 14:25:36
Mpo I am not complaining at all.

In fact personally I only like 2 or 3 cues on the score. I prefer more action scores.

I was just stating that the release of this score they really dropped the ball. :)

I knew that too Hybrid. Almost everytime sessions or complete scores aren't the isolated film mixes. There is always a difference in mixing. But the track on the complete version is better than the one released. I don't understand why they released "the crappy version" while they already had this one. Not the same as the film mix, but better then the "demo"

isildur2014-11-26 15:20:36
Oh man! Are they ever going stop? Why are you even discussing a score which you don't even like?

Anonymous2014-11-26 16:05:12
Well, I don't dislike the score. Most of it doesn't do much for me. But I haven't seen the movie either (no interest in it)

Stuff I like is mountains, detach (second half), caution and day one dark (second half).

VoodooVince2014-11-26 16:19:38
Is it me or the version of No Time For Caution released today in the FYC is the "real" version??
It sounds great to my ears compared the version released on iTunes :)

PS: I'm not a hater, just a lover of this whole amazing soundtrack...

Hybrid Soldier2014-11-26 16:44:24
Well for sure the Organ is mixed a lot more upfront... Which doesn't sound bad... :)

Medigo2014-11-26 17:10:58
Its still not the audio mess from the movie though
Not saying I am mad about that, not at all
I just wanted to be clear

Dilly2014-11-27 08:34:48
The damaged track isn't the one everyone wants. It's No Time For Caution which is track 28 from the Paramount site. You can find an almost perfect version of it on Youtube that has been created/recreated by a fan. I think the link is somewhere in this thread.

HalfLucan2014-11-28 14:33:14
In regards to No Time For Caution

In retrospect, i didn't actually know what was annoying me about the "Zimmer" version until hearing the FYC version other than the fact it sounded so different.

Its the organ. Even though its not in the entire piece, its in the climax which is where it matters most.

The sound artefacts i think your hearing is to do with artificially increasing the volume. Don't run it on a normal media player, run it though iTunes or something (i use the Loudness setting on the equaliser)

I really liked no time for caution aka Docking scene. great arrangement.

Mike2014-12-01 15:30:16
I'm with MacArthur here. It does sound a little awkward near the end as it fades out WITH the organ blaring over it, and the low volume for the first half is slightly annoying (and easily fixable), but the arrangement we got has the same intensity as the film version if you ask me. Unlike *ahem* Batman Chased *ahem*.

I think it might be as they don't both appear in the movie....

They do
One plays when Murph asks 'the question' on earth
The other plays when the message is related to the people on the Ice planet

Alms2014-11-26 17:23:30
Hum I did not know that...I just remember the cue playing when she finds out and sends a video message and then it switches to the screen that no one is watching in space.

Is it just me or does the track decoding the message from the complete (which is the same cue as Dust from the OST) have more orchestra than the OST version.. It's probably not a different take, but just some mixing but still I like it!

theeaglesfan005 2014-11-26 15:44:18
Yes... the FYC versions are a little different.

Stay is different from the album version (which is as far as I got into the FYC on my way to work this morning)

Medigo2014-11-26 15:54:05
it seems mostly with the Mixing yeah
Some instruments are louder on the album

badbu2014-11-26 15:55:03
The Stay version is much better on the FYC :)

Medigo2014-11-26 16:02:57
I cant remember anymore

is the FYAC version closer to the movie?
Was the beginning of 'Dreami of the Crash' tracked unto the album track?

theeaglesfan005 2014-11-26 16:20:37
The album version of Stay has the really loud organs (similar to dreaming of the crash at the beginning).

FYC doesn't and the ending has some extra strings? added in

Medigo2014-11-26 17:11:57
the ending is shorter, almost like it was cut short
the strings are a bit louder too yeah
