Gal and Ben also announced their support for the Snyder Cut!Something is coming, Junkie XL aka Tom just posted this<br>https://twitter.com/Junkie_XL/status/1196111682398867456<br>#ReleaseTheSnyderCutI want that film version of John's theme. heard in the arcade scene and airport scene at the end of the film.Nope. They were recreated using film stems.I found a version of this soundtrack online that contained several alternate versions of "No Time For Caution", as well as two additional suites, supposedly titled "Endurance Suite 1" and "Endurance Suite 2". I've listened to both and they both seem legit, but are they a part of this complete score?
truly amazing score! zanelli shows here that he mastered the DNA of the pirates music. would love to see him talk about this series, what makes its music so unique & recognizable, etc.<br><br>i think what's happening is that there are far too many characters, each with their own themes, to focus & develop any one in particular. salazar is the exception, in both the movie and the music. his intriguing character is the reason i watched the movie. and his theme kept coming into my head months after the movie.<br><br>but yea there are too many stories being unpacked onto the viewer in just a few hours in the latest pirates. but zanelli did a great job all the same.Balfe is the best composer since Powell from the Zimmer training<br>After hearing what Lorne Balfe did for Mission Impossible it would be great to hear what he would do with the James Bond theme.<br>Ok.But still it would be awesome if Djawadi is composing The EternalsWell, unless you have a source, or can point to a credible publication reporting Romer is not scoring it, I think it is safe to assume (for now) that the composer announced and still listed on the official website as the composer for the film is in-fact the composer for the film..<br><br>He wouldn't be my personal choice for the job, but I am not going to ignorantly pretend that he isn't currently the hired composer.
I was at the concert yesterday in Denmark, words can't describe what i felt, it's something that has to be experienced in person, truly amazing.<br><br>Music is one thing, but the lights and video along the show was awsome, that can't be described, you have to be there.<br><br>I hope for a bluray version of a concert, I will gladly be the first to buy it.Jackman has always been my favorite of his "generation" of RC composers (in which I also include Balfe, Djawadi, Örvarsson, Margeson and Streitenfeld - the ones who broke out about a decade ago). I think he's the best orchestral writer other than Powell and I always appreciate the clean, organic sound of his scores - like with Powell's scores, Jackman's orchestra always sounds real and clearly distinct from the electronics, unlike Balfe and Zimmer himself who use samples a lot more and blur things in the middle. That's true even of scores of his I don't like, such as Winter Soldier.<br><br>I do wish he'd stop stripping the electronics off of tracks for his album releases though. That seems like a strange way to address the criticisms he got for Winter Soldier - kind of missing the point.Any plans for a concert in Denmark (Boxen, Herning) ?I like this score!!!<br><br>Henry is very good in my opinion. I always liked his scores even when others didn't.<br><br>And I'm really excited for Jumanji: The Next Level!!!Neither Romer or Balfe are scoring Bond 25
I want to say that test screening version of Ghost in the Shell deleted one geisha character who was under orders of Cutter to follow the Major and in the original third act, she fought Aramaki when he stormed into Cutter's Holo room after killing his guards. Aramaki survives and the scene continues as shown. Because of the poor reception of what I call "The Philosophical Cut", the geisha character was removed and there were quick reshoots of all of the conversations between Cutter and Aramaki minus the geisha character involvement. The report about Romer leaving wasn't even confirmed, so I think it's just people wanting the expected to happen at this point.lol no he’s notLast week, the IMDb page said Joseph Trapanese is scoring it and next week some other composer will probably be listed there. Amazing that some people still think of IMDb as a reliable source for this kind of info.More Cannons!, 2:14 - Jack Sparrow theme from PotC?

This was recently added back onto Spotify. Just an FYI for those of us who actually wanted to listen to this soundtrack for the past 2 years.

Little "who did what" from the cuesheet... :)

Edmund Meinerts2015-04-18 22:14:49
Thanks! A shame it doesn't clarify the nature of Jackman and Margeson's collaboration better, but it's nice to know what Dom Lewis did at any rate. He's a really good composer, often seems to contribute to some of the best moments of whichever score he's working on at the time (Cap 2).

FunnyML2015-05-20 20:19:10
Did you use actual cuesheets or infos from the ASCAP database?

WOW the movie is fucking good!! And the score....wow, I can't take this in words what I feel about it :D

One thing that puzzles me about this score is that, on album, in many areas it sounds as if we were given the synth mock ups for the score, rather than the recorded cues.

Edmund Meinerts2015-02-26 19:22:40
Yes, well, I thought that about the entire Man of Steel score...

KT Koskela reply Replies: 9 || 2015-02-05 02:29:37
Now THIS is the score "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" should've been.

Hybrid Soldier2015-02-05 12:52:05
No way !

CATWS is one of my 2 fav' scores from 2014, it shouldn't have been any different !!

Ds2015-02-05 14:55:22
Hybrid, did someone hack your computer??

Edmund Meinerts2015-02-05 15:07:32
I certainly hope so. *shudders*

Anyways, yeah, this score sounds fun from what I've heard of it, but the style is all wrong for Winter Soldier. Not saying that score is good - it's dreadful for the most part - but this cool Bond/RC hybrid sound wouldn't have worked at all in that movie.

meta2015-02-05 16:53:51
i agree. Cap 2 is one of my most listened to scores of 2014

KT Koskela2015-02-05 17:44:49
Edmund, what I meant by that was that Captain America: The Winter Soldier should've been an epic, heavily-orchestral, fun-filled awesomefest that this score is showing us right now.

Hybrid Soldier2015-02-05 17:54:27
Thanks meta, I've stopped counting how many times I've listened to it... :)

Ds2015-02-05 18:23:21
Hybrid, what do you find so good and enjoyable in this score? I've struggled to hear it once entirely, and during the movie it did me absolutely nothing, just a serviceable but random background music... So I never played it again.

I think TASM2 is way more enjoyable when it comes to fun electronic music for superheroes...

Hybrid Soldier2015-02-05 18:50:47
Well first of all I love the film, it's one of the best Marvels with Iron Man 1 & Thor 1...

When I first heard the OST I was like "Wait, what ??!", then I saw the film... :)

Then, as a kid from the 90s I love the constant influence of dance/electronica from the 90s on Jackman (in the Cap suite). Love the Cap main theme, and there's a great balance between pure orchestral madness by Dom Lewis & electro action by Margeson. The Winter Soldier I find the theme pretty impressive with the character, and it's actually a "theme", not ambient, just great electronica (and Dom Lewis' voiced sampled lol). The film also has a big influence (no idea if it's direct, indirect or totally unwanted lol) from the Metal Gear Solid saga, and the Hydra theme (choir & all) has also an influence (coincidence ?) from some of HGW's cues from Metal Gear Solid 2 (which I love :)).

And those who wanted CA 2 to be "traditional", well I think there's quite enough of that in the score (check the amazing Dom Lewis End Credits arrangement of the main theme, John Williams' style lol).

There's nothing wrong I can say against this score. Then, it's my taste, works for me... That's all... :)

Edmund Meinerts2015-02-05 19:22:28
I really hope a complete score emerges for that one soon. There seemed to be a lot more good stuff in the film than made the album, which was apparently designed to showcase as much of the unappealing music as humanly possible. I feel like I can't really fairly judge the score yet.

However - SPOILERS - I think the Winter Soldier theme is terrible. Besides making me want to claw my ears off for the most part, it's a totally inappropriate "Why So Serious?" wannabe forced onto a completely different character. The Winter Soldier isn't an agent of chaos, he's a good person who's been mutilated into a weapon for evil, and the theme seems to only acknowledge that latter half of his character. The mid-credits stinger in particular was ridiculously mis-scored - that was a moment of Bucky regaining his humanity, why did they layer that Godawful screech over it?!?

The new theme is OK, but unnecessary. Silvestri's - twisted into darker, less WWII-ish variations, of course - would have done a much better job. The rest of the score on album is third-rate by-the-numbers RC action and suspense that could have been in anything. Some of it, eg "Fury", represents pretty much the worst that RC can get IMO.

What's frustrating about this score is that at times you can clearly hear Jackman's talent peeking out and when it's in its good moments, it's really quite good. It's just that when it's in its bad moments, it's really, REALLY bad, and there's way more bad moments than good moments on that album. Like I said, I'd love to hear a complete for this one.

Yeah I can't wait for this movie and score! Matt Vaughn is an incredible director, and the music in his movies has been consistently cool (Kick-Ass, what a crazy score...) so I think we're in for a fantastic ride!
