would love to help out, but the video/track is blocked :/Think about Gemini Man, the score come out the same day as the movie (in that case, 11th October), and the details come the same week.<br><br>We'll likely get final details towards the end of the week or early next week. I guess I'm just a little surprised that it's taken this long. The movie had surprise screenings either yesterday or the day before, so it seems like everything's pretty final.Sorry, that is the wrong link above (film version)<br><br>This is the track I'm talking about. Does anyone recognize this version.<br><br>https://youtu.be/etkri6OKLpEThere is an expanded score album with the track called "Sniper/Border Post". It is different from the piece used in the film. Does anyone know the true identity of that track. I like the synth sound and the male vocal singing/wailing/crying in this cue.<br><br>https://youtu.be/DbENmej_cH0
But the scores comes out in 1th NovemberThe movie is out this Wednesday in some territories."In the third one he writes the "father and son" theme, it's okay but it's harmonically basic and the melody is UNMEMORABLE"<br><br><br>Aaaaaaaaaaaaand your whole analysis falls flat right there ! :PThanks Edmund.<br><br>@PaulH I am not meaning to say that Balfe cannot compose good music. There are compositions that I like: the Picasso theme is creative and well-written. Just that I find his arrangements of others more compelling usually than his own material.<br><br>An example that is good of this is kung fu panda. His arrangements of themes are really fun and energetic. In the third one he writes the "father and son" theme, it's okay but it's harmonically basic and the melody is unmemorable. Contrast to Hans: the Po theme and Spirit theme are precise, fun, harmonically clever, and memorable. But his score cues sometimes feel lacking: his transitions are clunky, the bridge material is uncreative and basic. <br><br>It must be so much fun to work on those projects together. Coming up with idea and hearing what someone can turn it into, or getting to play with someone's idea without the pressure of starting from scratch.And also, be prepared for more Studio Time for the score
Tom said in his Twitter: 'Details very soon'<br><br>Altough, is only a week awayThe Nils Frahm track was released years agoNo one is mentioning "Says" from Nils Frahm. What a masterpiece of music. Love how it develops and getting so emotional even with that futuristic sound-effect. One of the highlights of this score, with those tracks Cerbei mentioned.Balfe is a great arranger but an even better composer.Beyond Two Souls is still one of the best game soundtracks.<br><br>I must have watched another movie in regards to Balfe filling in the gaps - that makes no sense?The soundtrack released seems not to relate to what was actually used in the film.Balfe “gap” music is featured much more and works brilliantly<br>
Last night I was talking to Lorne, and he told me that in principle there is intention to release the full score.I'd be very interested to hear the supposed Balfe complete score to picture where he apparently sought to elevate it, as someone here put it. The Richter is pitch-perfect and works massively well to picture and, not dissing Balfe at all, his stuff is literally 'additional music' to fill the gaps.Aplusle, that's really well put actually.Don't feel bad. You've just summed up why Hans and Lorne make a good team. Lorne is by all accounts a fantastic arranger and can bring out the best in others' ideas but I sometimes find his own compositions are a bit basic or leave me cold. Hans on the other hand always nails the theme and the concept but his scoring to picture to me feels clunky and a bit amateurish, especially when the music is dense. <br><br>Both super talented in their own ways. :-)Is there anyway o get sheet music for Into the pie machine for orchestra?

Why was the score never released?

Scorefan2019-05-21 00:53:26
Politicals and tax refund!!!!!

Bayhem reply Replies: 5 || 2018-08-06 11:20:55
Sooooooo, no one really knows who actually did this score....lol.

Nothing against young Lucas Vidal, but how in the world did they even chose him? This is a giant movie with tons of music, so giving it to someone who has zero experience with Hollywood studio movies is crazy. God knows how difficult it was for him to work on that project....

Edmund Meinerts2018-08-06 11:34:42
Vidal had done a decent Bourne/Brian Tyler-style action score for the (shitty) Bruce Willis action movie The Cold Light of Day the previous year, so I'm a bit surprised that he (apparently) wasn't able to handle this assignment. Sure the scope is a bit bigger on Fast & Furious, but it's not like these movies need *that* complex of a score...

Joshua2018-08-06 16:57:32
Vidal was hired for the tax credits. But when he wasn’t up to the task Balfe and team were brought in. But he can’t be credited as a main composer simply because if they did, that would be considered tax fraud lol.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think I've ever heard of a similar situation. But I imagine that it happens more often than we think. Shame for Vidal that he wasn't hired purely because of his talent.

Edmund Meinerts2018-08-07 09:15:48
I think Ridley Scott's Exodus might have been similar. Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias was originally hired but then they got HGW to come in and do all the biggest action cues...

Supreme2018-08-07 11:54:56
Vidal has left Bayern and went to Barca

Scorefan reply Replies: 6 || 2015-04-27 21:01:07
So who is the official composer on this: Lucas Vidal or Lorne Balfe?

Hybrid Soldier2015-04-27 21:12:58
Lucas Vidal...

But after quite many years, you guys should know that I'm not very interested in "official" but more in "the truth"... ;) lol

Scorefan2015-04-27 23:13:10
So Hybrid, Lorne Balfe is the truth composer and Lucas Vidal is the real additional music? Is That? Or this is the truth and Lucas Vidal is just to pretend like oficial because of the "locations" where the movie was filmed

Adam2015-04-27 23:37:44
I saw somebody say that Brian Tyler and Lucas Vidal are both credited! It was from some composer website. Is this true??

Prott2015-04-28 11:52:17
Adam: Maybe Brian Tyler could be credited because the score features some of his themes...

Prott2015-04-28 11:53:51
Oh... now I see the titles changed to their "official" counterparts. Too bad :/ but at least we got a glimpse of the true story behind this score.

Kardo2015-12-01 17:46:42
Can I download it?

Can anyone tell which track was composed by Balfe and which by Vidal?

Hybrid Soldier2015-04-27 08:19:33
Nope...

Felix 2015-04-27 12:26:59
Every Day a new joke by Hybrid...

Lorne did Antonov Pt.4, that I know Evenstar

Hybrid Soldier2015-04-27 12:37:38
What joke ?

Prott2015-04-27 20:17:33
Yay, knew it from the moment I heard RCP samples in the score and then saw Lorne's name in the credits (as technical assistant)! :-D

Ds reply Replies: 0 || 2015-04-27 18:58:47
I thought the composer was Lucas Vidal, Lorne having only written additional music... Can somebody explain?

Macejko reply Replies: 1 || 2015-04-27 09:25:05
