whaaat? the complete score?? where??where did you find it? what is it called on youtube?i found a complete album on YouTube, but the audio quality is not good as I thought. I can't find it on YouTubeLooks like Zimmer's abandoned Z+. It only worked on one iOS system, then because it wasn't recompiled for the next system wouldn't decode the music you paid for. Locking your purchases into an app was a VERY BAD idea. Now there's nothing out there that's as good at providing a great surround sound experience for headphones.
So Lorne's mp3 uploads. Would anyone class that as an 'official' release of the music from the movie?Currently watching this movie the first time ^^ ... and then... suddenly a music motive spontaneously pops up. Sound exactly like a little part from Armageddon "Secondary Protocol" - really cool :) love the music in this movie. Very intense.I don't mean to pile on but do you really think that Hans touring is the only obstacle to a CD release of a completely forgotten 12-year-old film and score by a different composer? And why would Hans' tours be responsible for the fact that many albums these days don't get a physical release? While at the same time those tours even got an LP release... lolYou are aware that there's a pandemic going on right now, right?
I'm pretty sure that neither did he.I know Geoff does fantasy films and he is good at that, but I didn't want this.Lovely score by Atli, but also a bit typical for this kind of movie. This suite is all you need from this score. The songs are really great. Especially Double Trouble, Husavik and Running With The Wolves (i wish this song would be longer). Very nice movie and with a great soundtrack. Please tell me. When time come to Moscow.Wtf is up with that Time remix with Alan Walker?

Instead of asking when the complete score might be leaked, I'm going to ask, why Hans, won't release the complete score himself. So why doesn't he release the complete score after the film's dvd release? I know he can't release it because of the studio, and he can't officially release it even afterwards, but why? It's his music.

I love Hans Zimmer, but there are only a two reasons why he won't release the score. Either he can't because of the studio owns the rights (which is bullshit), and he won't release because he feels the need not to. Which is also bullshit. If he is aloud to release it, but for some odd reason he won't and someone has to leak, I don't understand. I will happily pay 100 dollars for a complete score. Even 200. I mean c'mon, it's Hans Zimmer. I'm sorry for the rant, I just don't understand either why he won't release his complete scores, or why the studios won;t let him because of money.

Bro2016-10-05 23:29:38
It's all legal mumbo-jumbo.

The scores do eventually leak, which is better than nothing.

One day he might push WB or Columbia to do a big release of something like the Batman trilogy, the POTC trilogy, or the Dan Brown trilogy (TDVC, A&D, Inferno)

Who knows.

Edmund Meinerts2016-10-05 23:55:35
It's not bullshit. Composing for film is work-for-hire; they hire you to provide a product, you do, and that product is then theirs to do whatever the hell they want with. The composer no longer has a say, legally speaking. Maybe they get royalties, maybe not. So no, it's not Zimmer's call to release or not release the complete score (assuming that he would do it, which to be honest doesn't seem like him anyway). It's the studio's - and the market just isn't really big enough for that sort of thing to be profitable, I bet.

I'm hoping that one day complete score releases become the norm from the beginning, rather than collecting dust for a decade or two before some specialty label like La-La Land rediscovers it. Or, better yet, a double release: a physical album that's been edited for good listening, and a complete score, perhaps released only digitally if costs make that necessary. A few years ago the Oblivion score did that exact thing really well, for example, and I'm disappointed that we haven't seen more of it. But the reality is that most people probably prefer a nicely edited single-disk album to a lengthy complete score where the highlights are a lot further apart.

mpolonest1232016-10-06 00:26:43
And look, at the end of the day Zimmer has much bigger priorities than leaking out scores. With all the projects he continually is working on, I highly doubt he spends much time thinking about his past scores. Finish one and move on.....

It is great when composers do put out unreleased music on their sites (Zanelli, Balfe, Beltrami), but the reality is that Zimmer is far too busy to be thinking of things like this.

If anyone is to blame, it's the labels that put out all of these redundant "extended editions" of scores like TDKR or BvS.
That's why albums like Sherlock Holmes and KFP2 have never bothered me; they may not be complete but they sure as hell are great presentations of the music within the film; all of the highlights covered.

WB2016-10-06 03:53:26
Jack, HZ doesn't own the score once he writes it and gets paid for it. The studio owns everything. If they hire Edmund to write the script, it's now theirs and no longer his. Yes, he wrote it - but he doesn't own the right to it.

Same thing with the score. HZ writes it, but he doesn't own it. It's not his anymore, it's the studios'. They own EVERYTHING. The sets, the costumes, the props, the script, the score - all of it.

rockhound2016-10-06 08:32:50
howard shore, mark isham and klaus badelt are able to release some of their scores over their own label, even complete ones. why is this possible?

Edmund Meinerts2016-10-06 15:30:31
Because those composers probably make a point of it to retain release rights to the music in their contracts. Also, Isham, Badelt and everything Shore writes that isn't based on Tolkien tends to be for much, much smaller-scale movies than what Zimmer works on, so maybe they're a bit more lenient than the big big studios.

rockhound2016-10-06 17:17:15
you can listen on badelts website to Pirates 1, The Time Machine, 16 Blocks, TMNT etc. all kind of big studio movies and all of them complete or expanded. the point is, it is possible. at least in some cases. but the first thing you always have to do is ....try it.

Edmund Meinerts2016-10-06 19:14:06
He has all those up?? I didn't actually know that. I thought it was just all those random French movies he used to do (and these days he doesn't even do those :/ ). Might have to go check that out, thanks.

rockhound2016-10-06 23:12:45
very welcome. klaus has alot of good stuff uploaded. also his smaller stuff and dtv films.

Cyberpunk882016-10-07 00:00:49
Also, with the popularity of the isolated scores/5.1 bonus tracks on dvd's/blu-ray's like with Inception, Lotr, Oblivion etc. Why won't they at least continue this trend and release the most popular tracks or an isolated score as extra's with the dvd's/blu-ray's.. Hans always talks about the surround experience in his studio and how he wants people to experience the same at their home (the reason he releases those apps with dts headphone-x, which is only stereo-surround) yet he can't get them to release the real surround tracks on at least 1 format.

WB2016-10-07 01:25:55
It's all about the money. We only get certain isolated scores for certain films because not every studio wants to do it. Like I said, they own the music. It's theirs. They keep it locked up tight and wait until years down the line so they can release via La-La Land or Intrada. I guess we got lucky Universal was kind enough to give us Oblivion.

As far as Hans releasing the music in 5.1 via the apps, I think he does it for 2 reasons:

1.) To stay up to date with today's technology. Everything is done digitally now and he's hip by being up to date, releasing music via an app.

2.) Because he knows the studio won't do an isolated score (there has NEVER been an HZ iso score as far as I know), so he at least releases it in 5.1 to somewhat please the fans.

Tom2016-10-07 03:33:50
Any news on Balfe's new score being released for War On Evertone ?heard some bits on his Twitter ????

Hybrid Soldier2016-10-07 09:12:51
It won't have an OST release. Best thing will be Lorne putting cues on his site or Youtube I think...

Jack2016-10-07 22:44:47
Thank for the feedback. Sucks that Zimmer owns none of his own work. I just think the studio should release complete scores. But they're all about the money. Igues it's just how it works nowadays

WB2016-10-07 22:56:40
Remember, it's not just HZ - it's every composer. They don't own the music they write, the screenwriters don't own the scripts they write.

LS100 Studios reply Replies: 9 || 2016-09-25 17:24:59
I've got my hopes up that Zimmer will release the complete score at some point, but the overwhelming question for everyone is, "When?" It took two years for him to officially release the complete score for Man of Steel, and for many people that shows we'll have to wait for some time until BvS's complete score is released.

Look at it like this - Zimmer released the complete score for The Dark Knight Rises towards the end of 2012, within several months of the film's release in July. I don't know why the score was released so soon - perhaps it was due to popular demand, or maybe Zimmer had more time to organize and release it, which could be why the MoS complete score took so long to come out.

If anyone has any thoughts on this, feel free to share them. This has been on my mind lately and I've had my fingers crossed for the complete score to be released in the near future.

...2016-09-25 17:28:08
Hz doesn't release any complete scores.

Hybrid Soldier2016-09-25 17:44:19
Hans didn't release any complete score (beside The Lion King, took him 20 years lol).

And if you ask me, maybe he will get to this in the future, but not anytime soon...

Anonymous2016-09-25 18:22:16
@LS100 Studios,

You're an idiot. HZ didn't release the complete scores. Certain people go have contacts within the industry sell them to people online. It's called the black market.

It has nothing to do with the age or when a film is released. TDKR was leaked in October of 2012, but it had been passed around long before then. Inside people had it. October is just when someone decided to leak it to the public. The same goes with MOS.

Cameron2016-09-26 04:15:10
That down-talking wasn't necessary. Not everyone knows those facts you stated. So leave and come back when you learn some manners.

I didn't appreciate the down-talking either. Obviously there's people here like you who know much more about this than I do, which is great, but understand that there's people like me who don't know much about how the music gets out.

Anyhow, thanks for filling me in on this. Is there anyone hanging around this website that has ties with Zimmer or his crew?

Mike2016-09-30 02:25:26
@LS100, Hybrid Soldier, above, regularly corresponds with Hans and RCP people.

Cameron2016-09-30 03:28:42
Don't expect to get a complete score from him, though. If I recall, he's never leaked anything in the past.

Possible? Sure. Man of Steel had one but years later. It can happen.

theeaglesfan0052016-08-20 17:07:00
Here's a note i have from April 3rd

1. A Beautiful Lie (first 10 seconds can probably be placed after "their war here")
2. Their War Here
3. Blood of my blood
4. Vigilante (0:00-1:00 is Lois in her apartment; 1:00-end is the Batman scene)
5. The Red Capes Are Coming (need to split for senator finch scene later on)
6. There were hunters (0:00-0:28 Bruce "man-bat" nightmare wake)
7. May I Help You, Mr. Wayne? (Party scene)
8. Day of the dead (intro is when superman talks to his mom before the court scene; 1:07ish-end is the rescue montage)
9. Must There Be A Superman? (Knightmare scene)
10. New Rules (second half sounds a lot like vigilante so idk where the second half would go exactly)
11. Do You Bleed?
12. There were hunters (0:28-end or 1:12-end.. I'm not entirely sure because 0:28-1:12 is the MoS piano)
13. Problems Up Here
14. Black and Blue
15. Fight Night
16. Tuesday
17. Is She With You?
18. This Is My World
19. Men Are Still Good (0:00-4:30)
End Credits:
20. Rendition of "1m01f The Launch" from MoS Complete Score
21. End of Beautiful Lie
22. Some of Bruce's theme
23. Do You Bleed? (End part)
24. The Red Capes Are Coming (part of)
25. Beautiful Lie (part of)

Gus2016-08-20 20:14:30
Awesome! Thank you. I love how generous these HZ/Junkie XL official releases are getting recently, in terms of content.

josimar2016-08-21 19:16:05
Awesome work, thanks!

I'm not a fan from bootleg unnoficial releases, but I would love one of this score. The OST Special Edition is indeed very generous, but there's two cues I would love to get. The first one is the music that plays on the first part of the Capitol scene, before Superman arrives - when he lands among the protesters, the cue that plays is the final part of Day of the Dead (probably tracked from the earlier montage scene), but it fits incredibly well on the scene.

The other one is the first part of the End Credits, which I'm not entirely sure if it is tracked from the Man of Steel score. Anyway, it is a nice, dramatic rendition of the Launch theme.

It's actually Tina Guo. There's a featurette on YouTube and you see her playing it

Felix2016-07-24 15:58:44
@ei18 on imdb is nothing listed

@Anonymous he mean who compose the Wonder Woman Movie

I think Tom Holkenborg will do it, maybe with Hans together again, that would be great :)

Lejti2016-07-24 15:59:15
I do not think that "playing it" and "composing it" are the same thing.
btw i think WW theme comes from Hans

Mike2016-07-24 17:51:44
All the themes are originally written by Hans here. Hybrid said that below.

Anonymous2016-07-24 17:52:15
True. But every video I've seen of HZ and co performing an RCP score, HZ is always doing his parts. She is listed as "musician" in the details and she is seen playing it but yeah that doesn't mean she wrote it

This just gives me hope that the theme will actually be present in the movie

Anonymous reply Replies: 1 || 2016-08-09 23:27:04
I have to admit that Zimmer's new Batman theme has really grown on me since we first heard it. I used to hate the percussion pounding and the massive choir, but now that I've listened to it more, the main tune is really cool. It sounds like an intentional homage to the themes from the 80's/90's film series (kinda like the one second of the Dark Knight suite in TDK) and even with the "cheesy" percussion and choir, it still epitomizes Batman. Perhaps even more than his 2-note stuff with Nolan.

Anonymous2016-08-09 23:28:55
And, the theme actually has a hummable tune! It isn't just 2 or 3 notes repeated! So between the Batfleck theme's "tune" part and the TASM 2 fanfare, Zimmer actually HAS written 2 more "traditional" superhero themes. :)

Mike reply Replies: 11 || 2016-08-03 16:15:29
Hybrid, are you able to comment on this? We may have complete credits for the Batman Suite, based on an interview Hans and Junkie gave with Warner Bros. Zimmer said:

--he spent 8 weeks working on the Batman theme
--he needed a second opinion but Junkie was away working on Mad Max, so he gave it to Steve Mazzaro "clarified" Hans' work a bit
--Junkie XL returned from Mad Max and they gave it to him to finish off

So can we safely say that "The Batman Suite" = Hans Zimmer, Steve Mazzaro, Junkie XL?

Hybrid Soldier2016-08-03 16:36:52
First rule, you can't trust official interviews ! lol

Mike2016-08-03 16:40:51

Mike2016-08-07 19:48:00
Don't worry, Edmund, I was referring to "Tower Falls," aka the main part of "Their War Here," as being a suitable replacement cue to put on Junkie XL's page, since he obviously did that cue.

And okay, Hybrid, I'll do that when I get the chance. :)

Cool! Somehow I was right about all the solo HZ cues (Beautiful Lie, Day of the Dead, Tuesday). :P Funny how much less Junkie XL ended up doing than you might expect. I thought his name would be on most cues before you started sharing credits, but it's missing from several of them.

Anonymous2016-07-24 20:54:35
Is Red Capes are Coming a suite or 2 cues edited together?

Mike2016-07-24 20:57:49
If I recall correctly, it's 2 cues, one as Luthor enters the Kryptonian ship wreckage, the other as he discusses the painting to the Senator. (Is one of those cues "Wreckage," above?)

Hybrid Soldier2016-07-24 21:13:45
No Wreckage is at the beginning, when they find the Kryptonite out of the World Engine wreck... I think...

If you try to make it match with the OST =>

IS SHE WITH YOU => ?? (But it's HZ lol)
THIS IS MY WORLD => ?? (Maybe it's OUR HERO (HZ SM)

THEY WERE HUNTERS => ?? (Ending part of DREAMS ?) + ??

Something like that... :P

Mike2016-07-24 21:24:29
Got it. It's kinda funny, Hans really did most of this one by the sound of things, but he really seemed unsure about it / unenthusiastic in the early stages.

Hybrid Soldier2016-07-24 21:29:28
You mean sometimes Hans writes his music ? Unbelievable huh ?? lol

Mike2016-07-24 21:31:32
lol. No, but the amount he did shows that his view of the movie changed as things went. Which you can also tell from interviews. He seems to really like the film. I wonder how he felt about the negative reactions people gave it.

Hybrid Soldier2016-07-24 21:34:41
Yeah he liked it...

The problem is he trapped himself telling so early that Junkie would do Batman that he couldn't turn back when that actually didn't happen... lol

Mike2016-07-24 21:38:31
One of the reasons I'm thankful for this site is that we get to know better than all the people on Youtube saying things like, "Actually guys this is Junkie XL, Zimmer only did the Superman and Wonder Woman stuff."

Ironic, Zimmer scores...people don't give him credit when it's actually due, and they sometimes give him a bit too much if other composers were involved. :P

Megalith2016-07-30 03:30:42
So Hans is responsible for the DUN, DUN DUN DUN DUN?

Mike2016-07-30 04:56:30
Most of the Batman theme, apparently!

Anonymous2016-08-06 18:51:54
Looking at the credits, it seems like Steve Mazzaro handled the more "brooding" arrangements of the Batman theme, while Andrew Kawcynski did the more action-oriented versions (Do You Bleed, Thug Fight) and action / sound-design-based cues in general (Desert, Post-Apocalypse. Branding....).

Hybrid Soldier2016-08-06 19:58:42

I think it's pretty obvious. They don't want us to hear anything outside the less-than-80 minutes they put on the soundtrack album. Which is, of course, very selfish of them. I think the trilogy from "The Dark Knight" with Cristian Bale as batman are the best soundtracks ever,of course appreciate the job of mr.Hans Zimmer but Ben Affleck cant touch Crirstian Bale as bataman.I hope the Cristian Bale starred το onother movie as Batman and not Ben Affleck.

The album presentation does like to make that part noticed, doesn't it? They should have just let "Beautiful Lie" enter quietly, as it does in the film. I'm still not sure why they needed to add that intro.

Edmund Meinerts2016-07-17 22:48:47
I'm still not sure why they went with that choice, period. For such a blatantly cheap-sounding horn-of-doom idea to exist so prominently in a film score half a decade down the road from Inception is, frankly, something I expect of far lesser RC composers than Zimmer himself. Perhaps an indication that his heart wasn't really in this least, that's how it feels to me. Don't blame him really.

Mike2016-07-18 00:44:45
Mhmm... if Zimmer wanted people to stop thinking of him as the BWAAAAAMMMMM guy, he certainly hasn't aided his cause. :P

Also, looks like Hybrid added a Mazzaro credit onto "Their War Here" (Main Titles pt. 2) at some point. Nifty.

Does anyone know how to get the tracks that were left out from the soundtrack? Any websites or torrents? Or do we have to wait until the complete score? When does that come out?

Everan2016-06-16 00:06:18
Right now, nothing, nada. If that ever comes out, it will be some day, there's no dates for that sort of thing,

Anonymous2016-06-16 00:09:55
...and by then, everybody would know lol

Sam2016-06-16 00:11:32
Ugh that sucks so much. I really want the music when Superman took Doomsday to space. It was an amazing track that they never released

Mike2016-06-16 00:12:47
That's not "Tuesday"?

Sam2016-06-16 00:14:24
No it isn't. I thought it was, but after listening to it multiple times, it features the violin cues from Their War Here and some alternate Day of the Dead, but more emotional and dramatic

Mike2016-06-16 00:18:41
Hmmm... Well, as with all of these scores, it's bound to surface eventually. ;)

Sam2016-06-16 00:24:02
Yeah maybe, I'm hoping it is apart of the complete soundtrack and that they release the complete score soon

NotSoAnonymous2016-06-16 01:09:57
This is the one track I want as well! Hugely powerful!

Anonymous2016-06-17 05:22:50
anyone else notice "problems up here" isn't the complete film version? they "conveniently" cut the whole part with the piano / romantic theme when superman saves lois from falling and the heroic tune as flies back up to luthor. -_-

Sam2016-06-27 00:56:01
Yep I noticed that too, that's what I'm saying, there has to be a complete score that Hans has up his sleeve with the full version of that track, and the rest. I really need them to release it

Anonymous2016-06-27 11:00:55
Complete scores are not released. They're leaked. And that sucks in some cases.

Sam2016-06-29 20:38:06
Oh dang I didn't even know that. I hope someone leaks it within the next year or something somehow. And yeah it does

Anonymous2016-06-29 22:20:43
Well, you see, Sam... There's a legend about the ''score trading mafia circle'' - people who have that rare (in their eyes) stuff, that everybody would like to have, but they keep it locked tightly like it's their own product, their creation and those complete scores / recording sessions (whatever you name them) float around until someone decides to show enough generosity and ''leak'' it. Sometimes it happens after a year or two... Sometimes it can take 10 years or more... However, only by buying the authentic copy of CD you truly support the composer and all the people involved in the process. Of course, some composers don't care if their music is spread all over the internet, some aren't happy at all. However, that is illegal and everybody silently agrees with it. Yes, sometimes original albums lack ''that one precious cue'' everybody loves, but if we talk quality - we should stick to the original releases. Because anyway - once you get that ''precious track'', it suddenly becomes not that precious anymore. Talking about BvS - I bought a physical copy of the deluxe version and I'm very happy with it, unlike most people. It's just my opinion. But the legend... continues to live on.

To sum it all up: if you're lucky enough to get the complete score - fine. But please, consider buying the original first. That's the least we can do to support those, who create masterpieces we all love so much.

Bill2016-06-30 03:57:39
Actually mister anonymous, you don't support the composer. The composer doesn't own the rights. The studio does. So you're supporting the studio. And WB has more money than bill gates, Donald trump and the sultan of Saudi Arabia combined.

Anonymous2016-06-30 13:26:36
Really? Damn, Bill... You've just destroyed my idealistic world.

Sam2016-07-15 08:02:31
Oh I own the soundtrack on disc and vinyl. But it'd be nice if they release the complete score for money, I'd gladly pay 50 bucks for it especially for BvS

I love this soundtrack. I love the new themes for Batman, Wonder Woman, and Lex Luthor. I also like the nods to Man of Steel. BUT, I have some questions.

1. What is that motif that sounds like The Winter Soldier's Theme from Cap 2 and Civil War?

2. Does it bug anybody else that the "Flight" motif from the last movie doesn't make a single appearance in this score?

3. Am I the only person is pissed that Alfred doesn't get his own theme?

4. Does Doomsday have a theme? If so, where?

5. Anything on the Complete score?

Mortifer V.2016-06-26 21:55:05
1. That's part of the Batman themes.

2. The movie didn't really leave any room for that theme to be used.

3. I don't think Alfred should have a theme here. Maybe in the solo Batman movie.

4. 'Tuesday'. Maybe it's not actually his theme, but it's the only musical cue directly describing him.

So news broke today that Junkie XL is scoring the Justice League

Anonymous2016-06-21 15:45:37
Come on, Hans... please come back and do Superman some real justice in this film!!!

Mike2016-06-21 15:51:38
Hybrid, do you think Hans could be prevailed upon between now and the film's release? He was on Batman v Superman, and I can't believe that Junkie XL wouldn't try to discuss it...

Hybrid Soldier2016-06-21 19:06:52
Honestly, why would they need Hans ? I think he wrote enough themes for this saga already, it'll be mostly rearrangements of it... lol

Mike2016-06-21 20:09:10
True enough, but if you ask me, Hans has a certain musical touch that none of his colleagues do. If he were to work on the score directly, I feel nearly certain the end result would be better and more striking than if Junkie, Mazzaro, Kawcynski, et al just did arrangements. Even in the scores where a "ghostwriter" does half the job, Hans' influence still means a lot for the final product IMO. You can tell when he's there and when he isn't, even if his themes are used by other people. His hands-on vision and contributions do come through in the final product.

Hybrid Soldier2016-06-21 20:26:47
Well I think Hans will be around anyway, one way or another. Despite what he said about super hero movies, he'll keep an eye on them. ;)

smizzy2016-06-22 20:12:02
hybrid, you've forgotten your "lol".

Mike reply Replies: 4 || 2016-06-17 00:35:42
Some of you may appreciate this interesting theme tidbit... I didn't realize this, but the Krypton motif from MoS (used for Kryptonite in BvS) did indeed make it onto the OST release here. Listen closely at 1:00 in "Black and Blue," the moment in the film when Batman first gases Superman with Kryptonite, and that actually is the Krypton / Kryptonite motif in distorted form. I hadn't caught that until now!

mpolonest1232016-06-17 01:14:13
And additionally.....
The second half of "Tuesday" is a combination of the Krypton motif and Luthor's piano theme. Makes sense considering the combination of Lex's blood with the Kryptonian technology.

Mike2016-06-17 02:16:18
Interesting. I hadn't caught that. Wasn't there also something about Luthor's theme being the Superman theme backwards?

I feel like this movie had pretty strong theme use overall, even if none of the ideas play off each other like one might expect. But I mean, there are distinct themes for everything (Superman, Batman, Doomsday, Lex, Wonder Woman, Kryptonite), and they're easy to pick out. Unlike, say, Civil War, which has 5 or 6 themes that all sound the same. :P

mpolonest1232016-06-17 04:04:30
But this is a case where the album really didn't capture the development of the themes. Both Bruce Wayne and WW's themes receive a fair amount of treatment in the film. Same with Supes, there are plenty of interesting variations that expand the ideas.

Mike2016-06-17 05:30:23
I thought Batman got okay treatment on album (with cues like "Their War Here", "May I Help You, Mr. Wayne?", "Do You Bleed?", and "The Batman Suite", we get pretty much all the prominent variations for that theme). I do agree that we could have used more Superman and Wonder Woman music though (I liked the "Day of the Dead" variation when the guy in the wheelchair spray painted on the statue, and the music that played during the Justice League cameos).

But the biggest thing that bothered me was the lack of the Kryptonite motif on album (aside from the short snippet mentioned above). It had some cool variations when Lex utilized General Zod's corpse in the ship wreckage and in the scene following the Batmobile chase, for example.

Everan reply Replies: 7 || 2016-06-13 19:46:56
So, the Ultimate Cut leaked, and althought it's not really available to pirate, there's a lot of descriptions scenes.
Won't spoil anything of course, but if there's more music around, it will only be Lex's theme variations, and underscore of it, and maybe more underscore of Bats and Supes.
The Africa scene however, will probably have more action stuff.

Gilvane Cezar2016-06-13 20:09:29
The music played when Bruce acces the Meta-Human files is so good too! Waiting for the Complete Score.

Mike 2016-06-13 21:21:25
You know, I would welcome - if it fits - a reprise of "What Are You Going to Do..." or the end of "Flight," even if it's just tracked in from MoS. But something tells me that the extended edition probably doesn't have any new Superman material worthy of such an inclusion.

Hybrid Soldier2016-06-13 21:51:05
Hans would have liked that too, but there was no scene for that...

Mike 2016-06-13 22:49:28
"Hans would have liked that too, but there was no scene for that..."

Whoa, for real?! That actually makes me feel a bit bad for placing some of the blame on Zimmer for under-using the heroic stuff... Now, granted, I don't know why they couldn't have included a snippet of it when Superman flies to the rescue in the Africa scene. But in the end, yeah, this movie didn't particularly lend itself to stuff like that.

Everan2016-06-15 20:34:43
So, there are some clips of the new scenes, and there's a very sad piano track this time around, you will love it.

Mike2016-06-15 23:45:26
*potential spoilers!!!!*

As Everan points out, there's a nice sad, slow piano version of the "If You Love These People" tune as Superman helps people following the extended Senate hearing scene. Maybe an early demo by Hans or something?

Everan2016-06-15 23:49:01
Could be.

Also, the Africa bit has no new music, just rehashes of Blood of my Blood.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2016-06-15 19:01:45
things really seem to have evened out by now as far as opinions of this one. when it first came out, everyone lambasted the ambient cues and the crushing seriousness and the uninspired character of the batman theme. and everyone insisted there must be great unreleased music (before seeing the film). but now... this album is a solid representation of the music and the score makes way more sense with the movie.

Hybrid Soldier2016-06-14 13:13:00
Alright alright... lol

Mike2016-06-14 15:14:36
"Girl - HZ SM"

Well, there ya go, everyone. If you found the BAM...BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAAAAM section of the Batman theme obnoxious, you can blame Zimmer, not Junkie XL (like people were originally doing). :P

Granted, Hybrid says as much below, but this just solidifies it. Thanks for sharing what credits are available, by the way. Is it fair to say that Junkie XL really did as much on this score as he did on MoS, not much more? Cause if he didn't really pen any themes, then he's basically brought back to the standard Zimmer "additional music / arrangements" category, right?

Anonymous2016-06-14 15:23:52
well he may not have done much more than on man of steel, but i still appreciate him getting front cover credit on this one. he deserved it on man of steel anyways so it's nice he got it here.

Cameron2016-06-14 15:56:15
Very nice, thank you. I always like knowing the original titles.

Mike 2016-06-14 16:24:40
Just thought about this... the only credits on Black & Blue are Hans and Junkie. In a funny way, that makes me happy. Cause the idea Hans and Junkie were touting early on was a Hans vs. Junkie type of thing, and although that didn't really materialize, it was Hans vs. Junkie on that namesake cue. :P

Hybrid Soldier2016-06-14 17:24:43
I'd say Junkie had a bigger influence on MOS than on this one...

Anonymous2016-06-14 18:04:59
Wait, which track is "Girl"?

Hybrid Soldier2016-06-14 18:54:33
Girl is not in the OST. It's the cue when Bruce saves the little girl during the Zod/Superman mayhem.

It's basically an arrangement of the very first 15 secs of the OST.

Anonymous2016-06-14 19:00:43
Ahh ok thanks. I thought maybe it was short for "Is She With You?" lol

Mike 2016-06-14 20:34:26
Huh. These scores really can defy expectations, can't they? You go into a Hans score with a usual "ghostwriter" listed as a co-composer and expect to hear a lot of that co-composer's contributions. Nope. You go into a score with no front-cover co-composer and learn he did half the project! :P

Zimmer's scores can be so unpredictable. lol.

I guess that was the Batman theme that was earned, Zimmer?

Jesus, should have stuck with your original theme instead...

Mike2016-06-14 19:08:05
Well, to be fair, it looks like the earned theme was "A Dark Knight". I am curious if this was a discarded idea from the Nolan films, though.
