LG, Jakob.Seems like this is going to be a Dark Phoenix situation where we don't have a tracklist, release date or cover until the week the movie releases. <br><br>I wonder if it's because Miller is still locking down the final cut and Tom's still scoring. Either way, definitely looking forward to this and the movie.Jackman's name has been taken off the IMDb page for Black Widow, so might just be one of those typical IMDb errors (I remember they had him up as the composer for Mission: Impossible - Fallout too).Thats not as annoying a difference as the choral elements for Electro's Death being so muted in the sessions.Everan, this doesn't make any sense, actually, "I'm Electro" is the film version of "Itsy Bitsy Spider Theme", if you watch the scene in the movie again, you will notice that the film version has the little fragment at the 0:13 seconds mark of "I'm Electro", while the unreleased "Itsy Bitsy Spider" listed here doesn't have it, better saying, "I'm Electro" is actually the true film version of "Itsy Bitsy Spider", while the version we know is just a Alternate.
You can find it easily on Youtube today, by the way, I can't find the alternate of Electro Showdown Part 1.mpolonest123, actually "unused source" is listed here, it's just with a different name "Farewell", I guess it was meant to be used between "Sins of The Fathers" and "Max Electrocuted", also, you've mentioned a film version of Norman's death song (Which is "Sins of The Fathers"), and If I'm not wrong, that track has just one version...Anonymous, I think he's referring to the film version of "Spidey Logo", the one in the official album releaseDT-2017, The film version of "Harry's Transformation" mixes "Sum Total" with the part between 2:04 and 2:58 from "Special Projects", but with less instruments and a additional electric guitar. I actually like both versions, if you hear the film version, it actually sounds like it was just edited in last hour to fit in the scene, while the version in the album, I'm almost sure it was meant to be used in the full scene, you know, the uncut scene, with the parts as Harry's teeth growing, his column being fused (or whatever is that thing), he looking at the screen, and more...but then they deleted the fragments, and for Zimmer the last hour plan was just throw the intense part of "Special Projects" into the song, and for me, that worked well, I would like to hear the Intense parts of the two alternates of "Harry's Transformation" isolated. There’s a 3-minute clip of the truck chase on YouTube and I have to say the score sounds pretty cool. A lot of string/percussion work with an awesome electronic motif for the new “Terminator” model. Also, Brad Fiedel’s theme is back. ;)
Hmmm, where do you have found the alternate of Electro Showdown Part 1? And what is the track "Farewell"? It is meant to be related to the Norman osborn scene? More likely "Sins of the Fathers" track?, I think not, because the track in that scene is 3 minutes long, while this "Farewell" is just 1 minute long<br>Also, you missed some tracks: Film Version of "Electro Showdown Part 2", Film Version of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" (which is actually the original version of the Album mix, yeah that one which was cut and renamed to "I'm Electro), an Alternate of "Truck Chase", and "Sins of the Fathers" which I mentioned before.<br>There's also two more alternates of "Flying Montage", one which is just 40 seconds long, and the film version, which doesn't have anything to do with the original version and the two alternates listed here.<br>And yeah, we can't forget about the second alternate of "I'm Spiderman" which is the film version of the track, and it was actually released in the album mix!Isn't his problem when people like Bruckheimer wanted a specific sound and give no freedom in his movies.<br><br>He works for what is given.I think Lorne already has enough noise behind her, for my liking I should start to give way to quality instead of quantity.ASCAP shows that "Farewell To Lilliput" is credited to Jackman/Willis. Is it correct or there is only Jackman? Just thought may be there is a typo on the site.Any news on the soundtrack for Jack Ryan season 2?
I was hoping for Ramin Djawadi to compose The Eternals, well Joseph Trapanese is a good composer so its good news.John powell is flying lowkey now which sucks, His X3 score is just jaw dropping. The Eternals would be perfect for him cause he'd make it epic but Joseph Trapanese is scoring that Surprised Jablonsky hasn't tackled DC or Marvel yet eitherDamn i miss Klaus, he needs a damn come back. Stupid talentedpush...<br><br>please add them...I’ve talked to Lorne (we follow each other on Instagram), he says he’s very open to doing a superhero movie.<br><br>Plus, Henry Jackman tackling Black Widow isn’t a surprise, but it’s pleasant news indeed. He’s scored for her during Winter Soldier, so I hope we get an expansion of whatever thematic material there was for her in the Captain America films.<br><br>P.S, it’s long overdue for Powell to score another superhero movie. X3: The Last Stand is a solid score and I’d like to hear his ideas for a MARVEL or DC film.

Does anyone know what the name of the synth is in the first 30 secs. of "Punch Bowl"?

Don't remember anything from this one. Sounded like a hot mess. Whoever tackles the next one hopefully gives it some form of musical coherence.

The expansion we've all been waiting desperately for!

Ds2016-04-10 15:41:29
Lol as if the initial CD wasn't boring enough.

Holkenborg should have pushed for a release of his Point Break score instead, which was more of the same but at least fun to listen at!

The CD is coming out in March 4th 2016?

Laurens reply Replies: 2 || 2016-02-12 14:02:44
Okay it's been a few days and the score should be out in America too now, right? I saw the movie yesterday and I have to say that it is a very, very good movie. But... I have the tendency to say that if I had not listened to the score before I saw the movie, I would not have noticed the music that much. I mean, the non-score songs play very noticeable, but Junkies (action) cues are very fast paced due to the way the movie is edited. And while this fast-pacing works very well for the storytelling (lots of flashbacks and "wait, let's pause this for a minute"-moments), the music kind of suffers from this. I noticed this in the soundtrack, too... It just feels like the score can't get going. Every time the drums and synths kick in, it's over very quickly. That's such a shame because when you hear Junkies awesome cues, you don't want them to stop. And then, obviously, there is the underscore, which is, well, underscore... It sounds fine in the movie but you probably won't remember any of it.
It would've been nice if there was a Deadpool-suite or something, because Junkie created some very nice themes for the character, but it feels like they can't express fully due to the movies tempo.

Ds2016-02-12 23:50:03
I had pretty much the same impression. It's not bad but it's not a satisfying listening experience.

"Deadpoople"

Since the adverts thats all I keep hearing when I hear Deadpool....

Pity the score meanders...

This is a one star score... So disappointing :(

Laurens2016-02-07 23:44:04
Yeah well I just got through my first listen and I am kind of disappointed too... I feel like Maximum Effort and Twelve Bullets are the main two stand-out action tracks, but they're on the very short side and did not blow me away like Blood Bag, Brothers in Arms, Chapter Doof, The Bog, go on and on... Maybe Man in a Red Suit can be up there too, but honestly I did not hear a lot of memorable tracks first time round... Might change obviously, just my initial reaction. However, I would have preferred to have a lot more music from Junkie and less Tarantino-like 'soundtrack'. I mean, I don't know how the existing songs play out in the film as I haven't seen it yet, but I could have done without some of those songs. And I don't know if it's my headophones (I hope not :) ) but it sounds like the album is mastered too loud so sometimes there is clearly some distortion/clipping going on. Could be intentional but it kind of starts to bother me. I'm going to try some other sound systems to verify this.

mpolonest1232016-02-08 01:49:42
Have to agree with you here. The action music, for the most part, is pretty fun when Junkie lets loose with the electronics (Maximum Effort, Twelve Bullets, Watership Down). I'll even say there are some genuinely pretty moments scattered throughout (Liam Neeson Nightmares, Face I would Sit On).

Unfortunately the biggest downfall of this soundtrack is a lot of the underscore. Junkie's strength definitely lies in his themes, but utilizing them is definitely not his strong suit. I would say half of the music functions well, while the rest kinda falls flat. And the biggest problem; the drums. The 80's style synth works amazing but is overshadowed by the Mad Max drums and strings.

Imo, JXL needs to leave his comfort zone and write for dramatic films. His string writing is some of the best out there, and his action music works when he doesn't fall into the same routine drums and pounding.

Oh wow it's here already (iTunes Netherlands at least...)? I thought this would come out next week... Don't know what made me think that...

While I despise Deadpool and the upcoming movie, the track that was released today is bonkers. I may have to get this soundtrack anyway.

Robert2016-02-02 00:09:30
Just listened to Twelve Bullets and it is indeed absolutely insane. I'm getting this soundtrack for sure.

mpolonest123 reply Replies: 12 || 2016-01-24 02:16:55
I wonder what sound Junkie is going to come up with for this. I'm hoping for something completely off the wall and unconventional.

Edmund Meinerts2016-01-24 10:52:50
Me too, although I'm not sure Junkie has that in him sadly...Mad Max called for that too, and what we got in the end was a pretty standard combination of MoS percussion, strings, electronica and electric guitar.

Hybrid Soldier2016-01-24 11:10:45
The funny thing is, it'll be out before Bat V Sup but was written after... :D

Zimson2016-01-24 11:58:34
Junkie has some serious talent for action scoring. Brothers in arms was easily last year's most intense track. He is besides Hans the only one who can pull sth like that off so far.

mpolonest1232016-01-24 15:14:56
It seems like it's the producers/directors who tend to keep asking for the same type of action drum music that he turns out.

Junkie has proven that he can write stirring string music, unfortunately his use of electronics always tends to fall short. Here's hoping that this and BvS can change that around.

Frank2016-01-25 02:16:17
He mentioned Deadpool in Fans of Film Music gathering and said he pushed very "left" for this one. So I guess this will be a very different score

This is pretty cool imo, I like the little "Beat It" motif.

mpolonest1232016-01-26 02:59:38
For some reason it reminds me of Chappie lol

ggctuk2016-01-27 19:30:50
Having never seen Chappie or heard the soundtrack, I would say it would easily fit in "The Matrix: Path of Neo". Kind of reminds me of "The Key". I liked those pieces so it's nice to hear something that reminds me of it.

On that topic, was Junkie XL with RCP when he wrote for Path of Neo?

...2016-01-28 00:59:09
Damn... I don't like this. I wish Tom would step away from the pop music/edm genre. His work for Black Mass, Mad Max and even divergent (which has pop elements) was amazing. I shouldn't judge the score by this sample but this doesn't do it for me... Let's hope he delivers a great batman theme:)

Ds2016-01-28 08:25:51
Since most of his career has been precisely in the electronic genre, I guess it's normal some directors hire him because they want an electronic score :-p

Edmund Meinerts2016-01-29 00:22:15
I can't say I really loved it or that it's the sort of thing I'll listen to a lot, but I will say that this sort of music feels like a much more natural fit for Junkie than that Man of Steel/Mad Max modern action music stale percussion drumming hell that we've heard from him so many times already. This allows his more colorful electronica side to come to the forefront and the textures are much more interesting than just BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BA-BA-BA-BA BAM BAM BAM BAM.
