I vote for that song as well! Violin Staccato slowly going in and out of tune! Love it.I don't think that makes sense though. Why should an artist have to go against the director and compromise the music of a film just to win an award? The best original score should be judged based on how well it serve the film and nothing more. Or else no body will want to score a political thriller. To me an award winning score should both fit with and purposefully amplify the film and be something you want to hear. Dunkirk fits well theoretically, but it isn't enjoyable to hear. Interstellar did both and that lost.It was so obvious if you know Elgar's composition, Nimrod. This might seriously be overthinking things but I think I understand why Barbossa's theme in this film happens to be the third Beckett motif. Rewatching AWE it seems this theme always appears when a betrayal is happening. Considering Barbossa is "allied" with the British navy it somewhat makes sense that the betrayal theme is used for him. Realistically I'm sure it's just another bad temp but it's still fun to imagine what Zimmer and Co. were thinking here...
Yeah, saw it again and that's not available, damn. Maybe if Paramount goes with the FYC route again, for wahtever reason, we'll get itAre the above credits with only Hans complete or not? If they are, then it's interesting how much of this album is just Zimmer. Even if it is an exercise in musical intensity more than anything else. I have to yet to see the film, but the score isn't as bad as I was worried it would be. In fact, most of it's just fine, and I look forward to hearing it with the film. It certainly does raise the pulse when you listen to it. It's like dread in musical form.I know exactly what part you're talking about. Unfortunately that segment wasn't released in any part of the score. It's a matter of waiting for the film version when the complete score is released.Perhaps. I also noticed a more heroic variation. How to turn the theme into a march.Lol, why though?
But yeah I think it will get disqualified. Maybe it'll get a Golden Globe.
Hans probably hopes so... Warner not so much... lolDo you guys think Dunkirk will be disqualify from the Oscars because the score used Elgar's theme? Similar to how Johannson was disqualified for using Richter's piece.I wanted that track as well!!! recording sessions when :'(I think its probably a remix by Hi-Finesse or someone like that. Just guessing maybe based on some of Elfmans work based on XL&Zimmer's themesYep. I know, but we have to agree that Elfman would never do anything like that. I do not think even XL.
Listen again. They refer to the themes of Hans' Superman in the second half of the trailer.
I'd also like that chilling piece from when the ship sinks

other than that, not that much I desireYou said it yourself "almost never".
Some MoS trailers featured Hans' score. ComicCon trailer for BvS featured music from Hans and Tom.
I actually didn't hear any reference to Hans' 3 main Supes motifs. Beside the hints of "Come Together", I find the music rather boring anf generic.no, you can buy on steamNo.
The trailer's music is almost never is composed by the composer of the score. It is made by a specialized company. So, is that Elfman's score in the trailer? It seems a bit early, but if that is, I just MIGHT be okay with him taking over from Junkie.

How great was Djawadi's score for the new Game of Thrones episode!

The Denaerys theme variation for the end of the episode was amazing! I love how the orchestration has changed a bit with a more sort of noble brass feel!

This is definitely one of my most anticipated scores of the year and so far it does not disappoint!!!

It was only the first episode. Calm your tits.

Masterpiece. Djawadi is really the best Hans' disciple.

Anyone here watching Westworld? If so, thoughts on Ramin's score so far? I'm really digging the subtle approach.

I like the piano out of tune theme (Main Theme, i think). Waiting for score's release.

The score is good, the variations on established themes is nice, it sounds bigger than ever. I really like it.

However I don't see why some people are raving about score of the year.

Ramin is music, orchestrations and progressions are alway very simplistic when you compare to other composers and scores. He is a bit like the McDonals of scoring. Very nice once to have, juicy and good but easily forgotten when you are going to a restaurant the next day.

Hal2016-07-01 12:59:55
I don't think this is the case at all. The music is really beautiful and emotional. If people, including myself like it, that's good. You don't have to like it though.

Anonymous2016-07-01 13:36:27
I said I liked it a lot. (first sentence)
I only said that it is very simplistic music. And that's not bad either since not all music needs to be highly complex to be good.

It's more like pop the soundtracks

... reply Replies: 2 || 2016-06-30 16:55:22
Holy shit! I just listened to the score and this is the best one yet!
Ramin really used his themes well and came up with some new ones! I love how the scores has become bigger and bigger as the story has progressed. His use of choir in the denaerys tracks is amazing and I'd love to have the lyrics for the Winds of Winter!

But let's talk about Light of the Seven. What an amazing piece. When watching the scene you're awestruck that you hear this piano piece in GOT. The stunning sequence was perfectly done and the music really made it work!

This is easily my favorite score of the year!

"Winter has come"

Nonore2016-06-30 21:57:43
Yeah, really, the most beautiful score of the year, and it's for a serie. Quite weird to say that this is more inspired than other scores from this year.

...2016-07-01 11:28:24
Well The GOT scores are always good but this is just incredible. The thematic development is really great. The way in which Drogon and Dani's themes have developed and started playing together is really great and you hear it in for instance Blood of my Blood. Finally in this season the Stark's got some revenge and redemption so we get some wonderful versions of the Stark theme! The Lannister theme is present on the OST but the OST is missing a few important versions.

The album is finally longer than 1 hour and while it is a great release, I couldn't hep but wonder why they couldn't have added 2 more bonus tracks: the iron island theme (when it plays in the early episodes of s6) and the Lannister battle fanfare. As this is such a great album I shouldn't complain about those tracks but it would have been nice to include them on disc 2.

Ramin created such emotional, scary and epic music for this season and I think it's time that GOT's music wins some awards!

By the Gods, Light of the Seven is even more masterful in the show.
Also, since the season's done, can anyone make a chronological order of the tracks? That'd be nice.

Maybe the best soundtrack of the serie (with season 2) "The red Woman" and "my watch has ended" are my favorite! But shame we don't have a new Dothraki theme and where is the beautiful theme that we can hear on the credit of the episode 7 (Riverrun/Kingsleyer theme)? I was hoping for this two themes, so sad :(
