Is it just used to describe Zimmer-type of music simply because he uses them more often, or are his main themes almost always power anthems?Maybe I am wrong about this, but a power anthem is a cue that revolves around a soaring, powerful melody that repeats itself throughout composition to represent a character, a team, or a specific sequence in the movie. Power anthems usually have minimal focus on developing complex B-sections, transition elements, and deep narratives.

I think the best example is Jablonsky's "Arrival to Earth" in Transformers. My personal favorite is "Show Me Your Firetruck" in Zimmer's Backdraft.
Politics. Zimmer was supposed to be doing Last Samurai, So he recommended Badelt when Bruckheimer asked him to do it. But in the end he ended up writing the main theme and the bulk of the score and KB has not worked with HZ since.I like this one too. xDThis is somewhat random, but can someone define for me what exactly qualifies as a power theme/anthem in reference to film scores? That term is used all the time to define Hans' music and I have a vague idea of what it means, but I'd like to know exactly what it refers to.Hybrid, there’s a cool organ variation of Davy Jone’s theme in the film that comes right before Liar’s Dice, although I don’t see it listed here. Is it mixed in with another unreleased cue or is it not on the list at all?Yes
Hi , why in the end credits of the movie , hans was not mentioned as composer and we had only klaus badelt credit ?
It would have to be suites because the better parts of each are only like 20 seconds or 50 seconds long...if he can put it all into a suite that's fine.meh
I dont want a soundtrack of just suites
The Batman Suite (9:50) - is this part of Men Are Good on the OST album?I expect the following tracks:

A Delos suite
A new MIB suite incorporating all of the music from Episode 9
A Dolores Suite that showcases all of the uses of her theme (battlewise, anyway)
A Ackecheta Suite
The Samurai World suite
The obvious cover songs already released
Anything from Season 1 that was left out.
- Somehow I dont think this soundtack will be 2 volumes, like the last one...but this will do

I’m using the ASCAP titles in conjunction with the film. Certain cues on the OST are stitched together with several shorter cues (Lipstick and Terrible Darkness for example) and are out of order. I think Hybrid posted the film order. Are you using the OST to break this down or all cuesThis was such a nightmare to try and break down. Much like IT, there are dozens of short cues that bleed into each other. Not 100% Complete (missing 5 or 6 cues) but for the most part in correct order...

Logos - Buildings
Dead Morris
Elevator - Boardroom
Pembroke’s Letter
Someone More Senior
Train
Laptop Battery
Mother’s Music Box
Drive To Castle - Arrival
Vent Pulse
Water Glass
Drive
Mother Flashback Pulse
Mother Crematorium
Deer Crash
Exploring The Spa
Steam Room
Hannah Hums
Waiting
Nosebleed Bend
Volmers Diagnosis
Urine Sample
Isolation Tank
Bridge Flashback
There’s Something In The Water
Caretaker Gurney
Terrible Darkness
Church Remains
Hannah Pond
Ballerina Sting
Bike To Town
Crayon Picture
Tampon
Cow Fetus
Bar Fight
Lipstick
Hannah Bedroom Nightmare
Tooth Pull
Lower Corridors
Embryonic Chamber
Constabulary
Toilet Eels
Lockhart’s Letter
Underground
Volmer’s Lab
Grotto Fight
Zombies
OS Orchestra
Blue Dress - Volmer’s Vitamins
Monk Chant
Ballroom
The Rite
Pulse
Photo Sting
Unmasked
Fire Waltz
Actually I’m Feeling Much Better
Main On Ends
End Roller Pts. 1 & 2I'm really curious about this one.

But for August, i expected most The MegThe score was recorded in Abbey Road, and probably Nick isn't aviadable in that moment.

But yes, is terrible underrated composer, i f*** adore A Sound of Thunder

Hey Hybrid, is it true that Atli is scoring Peter Jackson's Mortal Engines movie? That would be fucking dope.

Edmund Meinerts2017-12-22 18:13:22
Ooooooooh. That would be awesome.

Edmund Meinerts2017-12-22 18:14:30
Maybe he got hired by accident because they thought it was a sequel to Mortal Instruments?

isildur2017-12-23 19:50:33
lol Edmund!

Hey Hybrid, soundtrack.net & IMDB list Atli as the composer for Hitman's Bodyguard, is it true?

Hybrid Soldier2017-06-18 12:21:17
Yes !

isildur2017-06-18 13:21:34
Oooh! All out action score from Atli. I love it. Now that Lorne is getting more mainstream projects it's high time Atli got some too. He's got so much talent.

Felix2017-06-18 13:59:32
It's really great, but Atli's Scores don't get ever a release...look on all the great TV scores....also don't get releases....

Edmund Meinerts2017-06-18 14:19:49
There's a difference between the fifth season of some generic cop show not getting a score release, and the score to a fairly high-profile action movie (a situation like Ghost in the Shell notwithstanding). I can't think of many Atli film scores that never got an album. Wouldn't worry about this one.

The prodigal son returns! I like Atli a lot, sad that he doesn't get the same sort of assignments that Balfe/Djawadi/Jackman do. But this sounds pretty good!

Wunderbar wow

Epic work by Atli! For me one of his best.

Edmund Meinerts2016-11-07 15:57:22
It's nice to listen to, but I don't really think it's one of his best. It makes for a better album than e.g. The Eagle, Babylon A.D. or Season of the Witch, but there are individual themes and moments in those scores that far outshine anything in Bilal (there's nothing here to rival "Crusades", "Babylon Requiem" or "The Return of the Eagle"). And I don't think it's anywhere near Mortal Instruments, which is his best overall score so far.

Still, like I said, it's a decent score and nice to hear from a guy who's been MIA for so long. Just not the glorious return I had hoped for.

For those "shocked" by Inferno, here's some excellent old school adventure score by Atli. :)

isildur2016-10-14 03:43:24
I still don't understand why Atli doesn't get some nice, big projects. He has so much talent. Liked the suit. I hear a bit of Prince of Egypt, which is a good thing.

Anonymous2016-10-14 08:52:36
I was not shocked. Just disappointed to be proved again that Zimmer lost his touch to write decent, memorable music.

Morgan Joylighter2016-10-28 05:45:56
RE:Anonymous, he has done no such thing. Interstellar was only two years ago. And the second half of Inferno contains plenty of music which is AT LEAST decent, but it seems most people are tuning out before they get to the good stuff. Zimmer fans these days are so spoiled...twenty years ago the same score would have been considered mind-blowingly epic. How many times does the poor man have to reinvent himself before fans will be satisfied?

Morgan Joylighter2016-10-28 05:46:47
And I'll add he simply hasn't been hired to write the "memorable" music recently. You can't accuse him of losing his touch for simply doing his job as he is asked.

Edmund Meinerts2016-10-28 11:01:35
That's the thing - he doesn't have to reinvent himself every time, in my eyes. I wish he would sometimes just kick back and do what he does best.

Also, a lot of the "decent" stuff in the back half of Inferno is only so because it's straight reprises of DVC and A&D.

Anonymous2016-10-29 11:36:55
Exactly. Recent years he tried to pull a Madonna. Change and experimentation for the sake of experimentation and looking and sounding like 'I am so edgy, I still have it'.

Like every artists his best work was in the middle part of his carreer.

The good stuff he releases recently are usually rehashes or reprises of magnificent works he wrote many years ago.

Also Hans used to be special with his synthy approach years ago. But these days every videgame, movie or trailer has it so it is total not special or exciting anymore.

But each has their own opinion :p

As for Bilal. Awesome work!
