interessting... i really think it can be a HZ/ BW / JJ track, it doesn't sound that commercial and basicRandy is obviously wrong and an idiot in my point of view.Just watched the movie and it was awesome, well not as great s the first one, but still very entertaining.<br><br>As for the score, by now I have just listened to it in the movie and there worked perfectly, I would say even better than in the first one, with some old themes and some very good new themes, specially I love the Poppy theme.<br><br>Now I will listen to the album to see what tracks are we missing but it looks like a really complete pack.Haven't had a chance to listen to this one. Are you saying the tunes presented on album are not recorded with live musicians? If true then that would come as a surprise as I see some names in the full credits above that are associated with orchestra recordings, including Gavin Greenaway as the conductor.maybe quality is also not the correct word. its the function of the music. i just think the music of Armageddon is much stronger in its function as a filmscore than Pirates III. i also think the themes are stronger and rabins main theme is used in a wide range. but this also a matter of taste ofc.
Yeah, but the quality of the acting beneath the score doesn't affect the quality of the music.I guess that's for the Statesmen. Would have preferred an all-out Western sound for them to contrast with the Bond-type music for the Kingsmen...that would have been fun!Great fun score. It has everything I expected. Although that country vibe in some tracks is nice not really my cup of tea.i love this movie and soundtracks !I hope LLL didn't microedit this as much as the first one.
So, there's music in the Road to 2049 site, and it's pretty cool, but no idea if it's actual score. The lenght seems more like promo track for trailers.<br><br>Would be great to know where it's from, score or otherwise, because it's a great track and hope the score sounds like this!<br><br>Here's the site <br>roadto2049. bladerunnermovie. comI thoroughly enjoyed King Arthur. Good acting, Good Story, Incredible Score, perhaps underrated.iTunes SriLanka is the first itunes store to get the new releases online on friday. But by now you can also go to iTunes New Zeland or something and checkout the album and itís samples.@Armageddon<br><br>1. i love the movie. 2. rockhound is the most annoying character in the whole movie, but at least he has a cool name. ;) 3. bruce willis is smiling in almost all his emotional scenes and not just in this movie. but you know, in germany the movies are dubbed, so his "german" voice and the music helped alot to make these scenes nontheless convincing. to be honest, the goodbye scene was even more sad than the dying scene of leonardo dicaprio in Titanic. so you see, what impact the music had.<br><br>@Edmund<br><br>i didnt say the movie is bad, just bruce willis in a couple of scenes. so....the music had alot more to do than in Pirates III. the impact of the music in Armageddon must be way stronger to make these scenes work than in Pirates III. in Pirates III these scenes would have been also convincing without the music, because the acting was strong enough. but nontheless the music in Pirates III adds alot to the scenes and makes them stronger. just my opinion.Where did you get this information and samples?
Where can I listen to those samples? I would love to hear some bits of the score before watching the movie. The score has 25 tracks and is about 1 hour and 16 minutes long. Samples sound awesome. Great action score with new theme's and variations of the old ones. Looking forward to hearing it in full.Total video game score, circa 98. This is one of those scores -<br> my first - that you just didn't get enough of no matter HOW many cds they released of it. Hell, it wasn't until 2000 when I finally got the complete score on 2 cds. Sadly, by that time I burned out on it...So rockhound...your argument is that the score is better because the movie is worse? That's a new one, gotta admit... :D<br><br>to Armageddon, do it! The complete score, if you can. It's incredible! To Edmund Meinerts,<br><br>I admit I never really got the chance to listen to the entire At World's End score. But now you sir got me interested and I will check it out.<br><br>Cheers.

Is this a complete score Hybrid?

Hybrid Soldier2016-12-12 16:40:12
Nope, far from it, lots of short cues missing here & there, not that much significant material though...

Bob Smith2016-12-13 07:33:47
Thanks a lot man. It's really cool to have someone who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

Would welcome any attempt at putting the tracks in chronological order for this one.

Carly2016-11-28 03:12:20
After seeing the movie, this is how I would order CD 1 chronologically:

Tulou Tagaloa
Prologue
An Innocent Warrior
Where You Are
How Far I'll Go
He Was You
Village Crazy Lady
Cavern
We Know the Way
The Ocean Chose You
The Hook
Tala's Deathbed
How Far I'll Go (Reprise)
You're Welcome
Battle of Wills [this one might go before "You're Welcome"]
Kakamora
Wayfinding
Climbing
Tamatoa's Lair
Shiny
Great Escape
Logo Te Pate
If I Were the Ocean
Te Ka Attacks
Maui Leaves
Heartache
Tala Returns
I Am Moana (Song of the Ancestors)
Sails to Te Fiti
Shiny Heart
Know Who You Are
Te Fiti Restored
Hand of a God
Voyager Tagaloa
Toe Feiloa'i
Navigating Home
The Return to Voyaging
We Know the Way (Reprise)

I'm not positive, though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Carly2016-11-28 03:37:08
Actually, I think "He Was You" comes before "How Far I'll Go."

I just had a listen to this (the score portion at least), and while it's nice and the Hawaiian elements (a beautiful flute and chanting choir) are worked in pretty well, I can't help but be a little disappointed. The many short tracks make it feel very fragmented and there's hardly any thematic material to hold it together. Definitely the best tracks are the long action cues "Kakamora" and "Sails to Te Fiti", but even they change rhythm every ten seconds and are a little frustrating. You can definitely tell that the score is composed to fit in between a lot of songs because it seems to lack a narrative of its own.

It's still worth listening to, but don't expect anything on the level of Planes.

rockhound2016-11-21 14:29:34
with the songs it is the same. mancina did co-write the music for a couple of them and produced almost all of them and you can hear that. all the songs have melodies, but none of them shines out as a theme song like for example in Tarzan or The Lion King. none of the songs has a very strong melody, but they capture the hawaiian feeling perfectly as the score does. if you listen to the album as a whole, the concept works.

Just FYI, not everything Polynesian is Hawaiian. There are like numerous other cultures (much older, approx 3000yrs old) than the Hawaiian culture (which is only about 900-1300yrs old). So the story and the music of Moana is actually based and from those older cultures (I.e Tulou Tagaloa is entirely Samoan).

The album structure is very similar to the Frozen soundtrack. Fisrts disc original songs followed by the original score. Second disc outtakes, demos and instrumentals from the original songs and the score.

Mark needs to properly return to the scoring game. Seriously, it's long overdue. I feel like I've been waiting for Moana for centuries and I'm really excited.

Peter2016-11-04 21:36:36
totally agree, why he is scoring so rarely?

New Mancina to come !

Really excited about this. Mark writes some beautiful melodies. Just like Atli, he doesn't get as much as he deserves.
