Wallfisch just Retweeted the Shazam! trailer. Does that mean he is scoring it then? Hybrid can you say anything about this?

i don't doubt it, he and the director are good frineds and fans of each other, also they worked together on Annabelle so I'm willing to bet money he's the composer which is AWESOME

Has anyone managed to order this tracks in chronological order? I'm trying to do it myself but there are a lot of track that I can't place, so any help would be great. Thanks

I want to second this. Probably one of my favorite scores of the past 5 years

This was such a nightmare to try and break down. Much like IT, there are dozens of short cues that bleed into each other. Not 100% Complete (missing 5 or 6 cues) but for the most part in correct order...

Are you using the OST to break this down or all cues
mpolonest123
2018-06-24 02:28:26
I’m using the ASCAP titles in conjunction with the film. Certain cues on the OST are stitched together with several shorter cues (Lipstick and Terrible Darkness for example) and are out of order. I think Hybrid posted the film order.
Hey Guys, Benjamin Wallfisch Has Released The Soundtrack Details Of Annabelle Creation In Film Music Reporter With The Track list And The Soundtrack Photos plus In Cd Version Will Be Released At Silva Screen Records & Digital Version At WaterTower Music.

The score will be released digital tomorrow. The samples sound like a mix of orchestral sad/mysterious music en typical horror underscore.
Hannad & Volmer (Like the Opening Title) Our Thoughts Exactly Waiting Volmer Institut Nobody Ever Leaves Terrible Darkness Lockhart's Letter Magnicifent, Isnt It? Bicycle Lipstick Zutritt Verboten Volmer's Lab There is Nothing Wrong With You People Clearly He's Lost His Mind The Rite Feuerwalzer Actually I'm Feeling Much Better (End Credits)
So I think it would be the chronological order :)

No really original . Gore should have used Zanelli or Balfe

The final correct order is =>
Clearly He's Lost His Mind Our Thoughts Exactly Nobody Ever Leaves Volmet Institut Waiting Terrible Darkness Bicycle Lipstick Zutritt Verboten Lockhart's Letter There's Nothing Wrong With You People The Rite Feuerwaltzer Magnificent, Isn't It? Actually I'm Feeling Much Better Hannah & Volmer
The only mix of "unchronological cues" is "Terrible Darkness", which has short parts from later in the film. "Hannah & Volmer" is the end credits piece.

Funny, the chronological order is almost the exact reverse of the album order! Now all the horror stuff comes first and the action and thematic cues are more towards the second half, whereas on the album it was more the other way around. I think I prefer it this way, that way the score builds up to the good stuff rather than shooting its wad before the album is halfway over (so to speak...). It's a good score with some great material, but a lot if it is VERY hard listening, especially "Lipstick".
Also, Hybrid, where does "Volmer's Lab" go?

Ha ! Forgot it !
It's between Lockhart's Letter & There's Nothing Wrong with You People.
Also, fun fact, in the End Credits of the movie there's a credit :
"Ribbons" Composed by Hans Zimmer Arranged by Benjamin Wallfisch Performed by the Chamber Orchestra of London, Conducted by Gavin Greenaway
Some early ideas Hans wrote did end up in the score. Ribbons is basically the beginning of the waltz in "The Rite", at 2:08.

Interesting. So, it's just the beginning of the Waltz? How long is this "Ribbons" cue? Do you think we'll get to listen to it anytime soon?

@FunnyML That new tracklist made me revisit the score and I realized (again) it's so amazing. I haven't watched the movie but I want to listen to the complete score to hear more of these beautiful melodies
A little late to the game but I just wanted to praise this score a bit. When I first heard Hans wasn't going to be working on this project my heart immediately sank. Anytime Zimmer works with Verbinski, the end result is always spectacular (even Rango is very enjoyable, despite being a huge mess). I'm so glad I took the time to listen to this one though, Wallfisch delivered in HUGE spades!
Both themes introduced are marvelous, and it definitely speaks to Wallfisch's talent that he is able to utilize each idea without getting repetitive. One of the biggest bonuses is the variety of instrumentation and styles, ranging from the more traditional horror tropes to incorporating some beautiful vocals and even a waltz. If I had any complaints in regards to the album, its that it is far too short. By the time it ended I was hungry for more.
Hearing that he is going to score IT and Annabelle 2, I'm both intensely interested and a little nervous that he might get pigeonholed in horror. If you haven't heard his music for the Peter Pan stageplay (on Apple Music) definitely check it out, the man can write fantasy pretty damn good!
Oh yeah that suite is just amazing. Really impatient to hear the full thing, and above all to watch the movie!

Benjamin Wallfisch Has Made Another Best Orchestral Score Better Than Lights Out Score. I Didn't Know That Soloist Voice Was From The Trailer And Then I Hear It In This Soundtrack
7:15 and onward reminds me of something, but I can't pinpoint it. Does anyone else hear a similarity to another score? It feels like Pirates and maybe something else?

The Brass at 7:19 is very similar to Broken Arrow, but I guess you are talking about the staccato parts?
Edmund Meinerts

The rhythm and low brass both remind me a little bit of Dark Knight Rises (some parts of Bane's music).
