Rona ma Africa<br>Ratang ka kopano<br>Batho ba Africa<br>Ngothando<br>Sizongoba<br>Ma AfricaAlso, i saw Tomb Raider... it was OKI don't Mad Max as score was great, i enjoyed few tracks, but not much neither. Also that too for Deadpool, the main theme is kinda good, the rest is forgettable.oof...if you "can't wait any longer!" then stop waiting and shut up about it. Convenient indeed :P
@Edmund<br>I think one of the key problems is that he seems to pick the shittiest films to work on. Point Break, Dark Tower, Tomb Raider, etc. <br>But then we get Black Mass, Brimstone, and Mad Max, all excellent scores/films. And I know the quality of the film doesnít need impact the quality of the score but JXL obviously is pigeonholed as an action/electronics composer. I would love to hear him expand his range and work on scores outside of the action genre. Much like how Hans does a number of different scores.<br><br>Imagine a Junkie XL comedy or romantic drama!Nevermind found it on youtube. Well how convenientI wasn't yelling at the site workers. How has this been out. I have looked all over youtube and the internet and I can't find it. Can you kindly point me to where I can listen/download it??I wasn't a huge fan of Mad Max in the first place, but I'm increasingly convinced that it was the peak of Mr. XL's powers as a film composer.Itís funny you say that, in The Dark Tower there is an amazing string section at the opening of ďDeath Always WinsĒ (which was cut out of the film of course) that lasts maybe 10 seconds and is probably the highlight of the score for me.<br><br>As for Tomb Raider, Iíve tried revisiting it in the past few days to see if I would like it better.<br>No.<br>Almost everything about this score is functional at best, undeveloped at worst. Itís almost as if long sections go by with only sound design, just to have a burst of drums or orchestra, then back to sound design. And yes, I know Mad Max was the same case, but itís frustrating to hear a lesser version of that sound years later from the same composer.
There was this tiny section towards the end of the track The Devils Sea, which I thought was pretty daring, symphonywise. But I just didn't have the care in me to even cut that little 10 second part out to add to my collection.I'm not really sure either. I'm having a hard time making the tracklist from what leaked line up with the tracklist we see here. And I don't think everything is on there, I can't find the Atli track for instance...Okay, so maybe "decade-plus" would have been more accurate...My point stands! ;)Bullet reused on dunkirk, so this what I mean hybrid when 2 month ago I said that Hans reused some cues from BvS on Dunkirk...i'm not criticizing just noting.Officially, the whole BvS score is credited to HZ & JXL, so the theme is kind of "his" even if he didn't write it himself. Note that his formulation is very careful and leaves all interpretations open: "I may have had a hand" didn't mean he wrote it. It can simply mean that he gave Hans his opinion about it, or some piece of advice on the mix or the drum pattern for instance...
JXL (from facebook): "While I may have had a hand in writing themes for powerful heroines like Tris, Furiosa, Wonder Woman and Lara Croft, there's so much room for talented female composers!"<br>This page: Is She With You? (Wonder Woman Theme) (5:46) <br> Hans Zimmer, Steve Mazzaro<br>WTF?If only there was enough demand for this track to be released like there was for NTFC. <br>I love everything about it, ticking and thumping and some muted synths in the background. <br><br>I hope it gets released or leak someday. I tweeted at Lorne saying Hans should put out some unreleased Dunkirk tracks like Lorne did with GITS and he liked my tweet but that's it.@William<br><br>Do not yell at the workers of this site. They have nothing to do with the official release of the score., first of all, is a fan site.<br><br>@Meinerts<br><br>>Decades<<br><br>I hope you are at least thirty years old.<br>>Decades<br><br>Episode I came out 1999. Just a year shy of being able to say waiting for decadeS@lordy<br>This all depends on how the music leaks. Many, many unofficial releases are incomplete. <br>Mostly because :<br>#1 they weren't properly ripped from the archives<br>#2 all tracks couldn't be located<br>#3 files are damaged<br>#4 someone decided not to share them (but I doubt this as in this case the missing tracks seem quite random and far from being the iconic ones)<br><br>The only way to get them is to wait and hope for someone else to share a version from another source!

"Joker Crashes the Party" - Wasn't that the name of a cue from TDK? Was this an inside joke?

George2018-01-06 21:53:18
Yeah it is! Iím sure itís a nice reference to it lol

Olive2018-01-07 00:06:02
What to do if the Joker likes to ruin so many parties?

Which Balfe scores, in your opinion, are his best? Iíve just gotten into his stuff recently with Lego Batman and would like a good starting point with him, thanks!

Max Potcats2018-01-04 13:05:06
I really liked Son Of God (Faith is amazing), Terminator Genisys is nice too.

Macejko2018-01-04 13:25:10
Beyond: Two Souls all the way.

mpolonest123 2018-01-04 14:22:38
Beyond: Two Souls and Blackwood are probably my top two from him.

Edmund Meinerts2018-01-04 15:09:34
From what I've heard, I'd say my top picks from Balfe would be Lego Batman, Home and Beyond: Two Souls. But like Zanelli, I feel Balfe is a composer who does some of his best work in additional music moreso than his solo scores, so if I was making a Balfe playlist I'd definitely also add some of his contributions to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Kung Fu Pandas 2 and 3, Megamind and Inception.

Olive2018-01-04 16:02:04
Just kidding!
Animation movies (Lego, Home, Kung Fu Panda, Penguins and Megamind) and video games scores (Beyond, Assassins Creed, Modern Warfare). Yeah, I like also some other things, but nothing too remarkable like those above.

Hybrid Soldier2018-01-04 16:47:12
Ironclad, Harry's Arctic Heroes, Skylanders - Giants...

Richard2018-01-04 17:29:14

Genius is the Rob Howard TV show based on The life of Einstein .

I believe Hans is writing the main theme with Lorne and Lorne is the Doug the score to all of the episodes . The super bowl spot looks amazing . Frost Nixon was a unique score from them both .

Lego Batman just got released in Australia so it was great to hear how the score worked to the film. Amazing work . The Robin song I Found You is excellent and Lorne should be writing more songs . Interested to see Ghost in the shell now

There seems some negative comments about this score but I think it is great because it is fun but also with great serious overtones. For a change , the music was as important as ththe storyline for a change . I was actually shocked to see Lorne's name at the end because I had never heard his music this good. seems like he was allowed to go wild and enjoy writing . Enjoyed this soundtrack more than anything in a long time so well done

John2017-02-20 09:25:34
Onlyon this forum ! I think it's amazing and the music makes the film . I have always been a fan of Hans music but now lorn music is beating everyone's music for animation . Really great and best batman score since batman begins

Edmund Meinerts2017-02-20 12:05:11
"now lorn music is beating everyone's music for animation."

Sorry. As good as this score is, Lorne still has a long long way to go before he reaches John Powell's level.

John2017-02-20 12:34:49
Sorry but !!! Edmund you seem to be in the minority ! Social media is constantly
Mentioning the score in reviews . I realize I'm new to the new site but I follow Ihim on twitter and Facebook and everyone seems to be congratulating on the soundtrack . Apart from you ! Anyway - it's fun and I close my eyes and sit back and listen to it and enjoy A what else can I ask for .

Edmund Meinerts2017-02-20 14:41:18
Good for him! It's great that this score is getting such acclaim. It's a very fun and enjoyable one. But go out and ask those same people if they like this more or How to Train Your Dragon and then come back and tell me what they say.

David2017-02-20 19:56:09
Not just Powell but Zimmer too! The Prince of Egypt, Kung Fu Panda and The Lion King! Another great Powell animated score is Shrek, which he shares with Gregson-Williams :D

I forgot The arrival of Robin part 3 (the joker material)
That goes before 'Joker Crashes the Party'
(which I feel hes done in four separate movies now)

theeaglesfan0052017-02-17 00:05:25
when say arrival of robin part 1 and 2.. where should it be split?

jrej35552017-02-17 02:55:02
The Arrival of Robin
Part 1: Start - 0:51
Part 2: 0:51 - 1:37
Part 3: 1:37 - End

Medigo2017-02-17 08:53:07
also 1:29-2:50 from 'Black' was for some reason replaced in the movie with new music
no other track has edits like that I think tho

Don't know why everyone is actually raving about this score ? Have listened to it once and I haven't felt the urge to listen to it again. It's a fun score for sure. But saying it's the best score for an animated movie since a long time is a bit too much credit for me... But hey everyone can like whatever they want. Love the first minute of The Arrival of Robin though.

Edmund Meinerts2017-02-14 12:34:09
I kind of agree with you. It's a fun score but the level of accolades it's getting would have you think it's the second coming of Jesus Christ.

isildur2017-02-14 14:08:40
It's not just fun score, it's fun "Batman" score. Sure many of us loved Hans' Dark Knight scores but this kind of addresses more aspects of Batman's & Joker's characters not just their broody nature and completely insane unpredictability that was there in Nolan's movies. Also the contrasting comic nature of the film helps the score to be enjoyed on a different level.

Of course it's not the greatest animation score. But when combined with the kind of popularity Batman & Lego movies have, it's just that more people are talking about it. And I, for one, am glad Lorne is getting some much deserved attention.

Mike2017-02-14 19:33:21
Obviously you haven't been reading the reviews then !!!! I think it's a great score
and the film is a massive success . The music is is big part of the film and works brilliantly

Edmund Meinerts2017-02-14 22:24:21

This is the soundtrack album that Zimmer and Balfe's Megamind should've gotten! That release was pathetic; it failed to satisfy those who wanted the songs (only had 4) and those who wanted the score (13 cues).
