I agree! He actually invited me to come to a recording session in London for this film, man it killed me that I couldn’t afford to go. But I was so thankful he even thought to ask! Top notch guy.Say what you want about Balfe but he's a really nice guy, and always answers my questions on FB and others on twitter.I believe him as I didn't hear anything from Kraemer.I asked Balfe on Facebook if he used any of Kraemers theme and he said noI Know, Hybrid, just sayin' that i a fan of Benjamin Wallfisch's music Scores since lights Out to Blade Runner 2049 and i say this is another excelent Work from Wallfisch
One-worded track titles! Reminds me of early days of Media Ventures!

They sure tried real hard to keep spoilers out of these, didn't they? I suppose I'd take this approach over Latin or irrelevant names, though a little bit of pun and flavor wouldn't have hurt.So you can't wait to hear the score but you already say it's a great score ?

#inceptionAnother great score from Benjamin Wallfisch can't wait to hear the score & see the movie

Music By Benjamin Wallfisch
Additional Music By John Paesano & Adam Hochstatter
Orchestra Conducted By Tim Williams
Orchestrations By Peter Bateman & David J. KrystalWhy is people saying that Balfe kept some original music from Kraemer? I have listened to the whole score and I didn't found any quotes. Maybe in The Syndicate there is some kind of reference to Kraemer's theme but I don't really know.

And I have to say that I was expecting Balfe to shine on this one, but I ended up disappointed. There are some great action cues, and I like some things he does with the main theme like the use of choir, but the score as a whole feels like a reuse of many things I have already heard and ends up feeling repetitive and a bit boring.
And note that this is my opinion so don't jump into my neck saying this is the best score in the saga, because I think Rogue Nation is a really big step above this. I hope that at least it works in the context of the movie, which I suppose it does really well...Re-listening the score again...….Have to say, Lisbeth Scott's beautiful vocals are definitely one of the highlights. She's amazing. On par with Lisa Gerrard.

Speaking of, what the hell happened to MV/RC guys incorporating female vocalists in their scores? I've always loved that approach. But it seems that it kinda went away......replaced by more and more sound design! So except for this score (and Steve's Your Highness) is there a recent big MV/RC score that actually features female vocals? Maybe I'm missing some...…..
I was wondering that is there a Hans Zimmer library you need to license from Remote Control.

I kinda saw a composer's Cubase setup and he labeled one of his folders, HZ STR, HZ BRS, and HZ Choir.

Does Zimmer have a brass and choir sample library you need to have a license for?Easy now Mr. Anonymous, no need to be so superior.
I looked up that tracklist, and couldn't find 'Tai Lung Escapes' specifficaly listed, hence asking. Closest there is 'Shogun Mongol Prison', but it's too short to be the whole scene.

But I'll try to get a hold of that complete version somehow, looks super interesting.Its just three short bursts of sound, really.Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention there's also a short track that plays when K walks through Las Vegas past the statues and beehives, but is not listed on the cuesheetIt should be noted that I think a few tracks like 'new model' are put together with the track that came before it on the CD.

Ossuary
Return to Sappers
Must Protect the Child
Bomb
Like a Real Girl
Luv in Apartment
Mesa Hijack

I think are the only real missing tracks, and some of them are pretty short anyway.
I keep listening to "The Syndicat", which is what I assume to be the theme for The Syndicate. Honestly one of the better villain themes i've heard in a whileFlight has a new Andrew Kawczynski credit...We're getting there!Yeah, you're probably right.

I guess I thought of it as a Powell cue mostly because between the two main composers, it matched more with his style than Hans', but yeah it's probably Jackman's stuff.

Either way, I love that track.Yeah

BTW, John Paesano is credited as additional musicI'm pretty sure that the majority of it is Henry Jackman (maybe with a bit of Hans). I don't get much of a Powell vibe off that particular cue at all.

I wonder if some of the themes from the fist four Pirates movies will be there?

Ds2017-03-12 20:53:22
Of course! The film is not produced by Marvel Studios ;-)

JBSO992017-03-13 19:01:36
Of course. The main theme of the end credits need sto be there. If not, it won't be a pirates movie ;) Also I hope the theme of Will and Elizabeth to return and obviously the Jack Sparrow theme

Eric2017-04-30 19:25:55
I found a Tralier of the movie and it had a sneak preview of the movie in it and Jack's theme is in the movie so I'm not worried about them just recreating the whole franchise with a reboot but I hope they add some songs with the old themes on the actual Soundtrack

Owen reply Replies: 4 || 2017-04-27 03:45:19
Got a special chance to hear a part of salazar's theme, sounds like a varied version of blackbeard's theme but it fits appropriately, very evil. You all should like it.

Dimitris Krommidas2017-04-27 10:57:14
Great!

JBSO992017-04-27 16:59:58
Were did you heared that? I want to listen to it too... I hope that you say is true.

Dfault2017-04-30 11:19:02
Think at the Guadians of the Galaxy movie, they show a extended sneakpreview for this movie

Eric2017-04-30 19:22:42
I think it n a Spanish Tralier with Javier Braden it was in it does it have a guitar in it?

Agent reply Replies: 3 || 2017-04-29 13:46:20
Anyone knows the official runtime of Pirates 5?
It's 129 or 135 or 153 minutes.
IMDB and Wikipedia always change things...

Eric2017-04-29 23:35:42
153 minutes I believe

Agent2017-04-30 00:38:47
Thanks.
I hope so.

Edmund Meinerts2017-04-30 00:50:58
Wouldn't be a proper Pirates flick without a bloated running time! :p

Any news on the album?

Edmund Meinerts2017-04-26 12:52:59
Release date 26th of May, it says under "more details".

Although maybe you should ask the 704 people who have voted on it already, because they seem to have heard the score!

Waymann2017-04-26 15:58:00
Hopefully the artwork looks good, because the posters they released for this film are so bad and ugly.

Agent2017-04-26 17:06:39
Is this poster bad? It's one of the best I have seen.

Dimitris Krommidas2017-04-26 17:10:16
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_the_Caribbean:_Dead _Men_Tell_No_Tales

The main poster of the film is the best yes. I hope they put it for the album cover.

Agent2017-04-26 17:31:40
I like all the posters they released for the film.
But if someone don't like them it's fine.
I will agree with you Dimitris, I too want the main poster as the cover for the album.

Waymann2017-04-27 11:15:38
It's feel like they all look like images they use for merchandise books and magazine's, also the posters look like they are for a movie for children. But that's my opinion. The postes for all other films were fantastic, these feel like a big downgrade. Maybe that's why I don't like them.

Hello. This query is mainly directed towards Hybrid, but if anybody else can help me, please feel free to respond. With the release of "Dead Men Tell No Tales", do you think the other 4 Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks will finally be released digitally? Perhaps they already have been released, but in Australia they are impossible to purchase in a digital format. Just wondering.

Macejko2017-04-05 16:17:46
I know this doesn't really answer your question, but if they indeed ever won't release it digitally, you should consider buying the physical copies instead. They not only provide a great collectible items, but after backing the files from them to your PC you'll be getting a much better audio quality than the standard digital download of 320kbps mp3.

Eric2017-04-06 04:14:14
On iTunes they are on there I'm going that the 5th score will be released digitally you can preorder the CD on Amazon right now

There is a new entry for this.

JBSO99 reply Replies: 5 || 2017-03-12 11:08:56
Tina Guo is credited here, so maybe we get another Is She With You? That would be awesome. Cannot wait for this score!

Edmund Meinerts2017-03-12 14:26:44
I doubt it. That would be all the wrong tone for Pirates anyway. She's probably just going to provide the typical Jack Sparrow cello stuff alongside Martin Tillman.

JBSO992017-03-13 18:59:16
Yeah, that's right. a piece like Is She With you doesen't fits in the caribbean world. I only hope it keeps the level of the previous scores.

theeaglesfan0052017-03-26 03:37:25
She posted on social media today: "You can hear my Electric Cello & Cello on the new Pirates of the Caribbean Film coming out in May!"

Lambegue2017-03-26 14:10:34
Well, I didn't like "Is she with you ?" very much, so I hope the tone will be quite different in her cues for this one...

Eric2017-03-31 03:07:44
I can see Tina Guo doing like a almost heavy metal version of He's a Pirate or Jack's theme like if you have seen the trailer's it could be when The Black Pearl is going on the side of the Abyss

Marco reply Replies: 3 || 2017-03-27 11:04:17
Hi, anyone know when Pirates 5's Audio CD will be released? I am collecting all Pirates' Soundtrack and I will buy also this new one. Thanks fot the answers.

Eric2017-03-28 01:02:34
I'm hoppping it comes out the day of the movie comes out but Disney is releasing some of the merchandise after the movie comes out if you would like to know I would try going to the composer Geoff Zanellis website and asking theme it usually takes 2 days but they will email back if not call the Disney music group or Remote Control Productions

Marco2017-03-29 20:21:39
Yes please! :)

Eric2017-03-31 03:04:45
Actually if you click see details above it says the CD will be released 5/17 so it is coming out in May.

Ds reply Replies: 13 || 2017-03-08 22:28:16
The great Steve Mazzaro is on board !! Yeah!!!!

Edmund Meinerts2017-03-08 23:14:39
"The great"? I don't know. Jury's still out on him for me, as we haven't really heard what he's capable of on his own.

Ds2017-03-09 00:39:01
Well he definitely looks like the new big guy from RCP. He's been on board of almost every HZ score since 2012, contributed to the best tracks of Chappie and Batman v Superman, I don't know it's a feeling I have. In Steve I trust!

MigMusi2017-03-09 02:13:27
The Great ???!!! Don't think so . Gone are the days of Balfe,Glennie-smith, Powell, Gregson-Williams helping Hans

Anonymous2017-03-09 09:01:48
Great?
He's terrible. All the scores he has been involved with were ruined with horrendous boring grating ambient sound design and mixing.

So "additional MUSIC" seems a bit too generous. It the same as being called a photographer because you can set an instagram filter.

Brent2017-03-09 17:31:46
Let's just say having Paul on board makes me very excited. Having Steve on board makes me nervous. Having the both of them on board is very interesting. :)

Edmund Meinerts2017-03-09 21:17:53
Well Mounsey was on Inferno too, so...yeah, let's hope they don't go THAT direction. Yikes.

Hybrid Soldier2017-03-09 21:55:07
None of Paul's work ended up in Inferno's final score...

mpolonest123 2017-03-09 22:48:09
@Hybrid What did Paul write that wasn't used?

Hybrid Soldier2017-03-10 00:24:31
... Music ? :P

I have no idea ! That's the point of it not being in the film !! lol

mpolonest1232017-03-10 01:00:01
Lol I wasn't sure if you specifically knew what it was.

But Steve Mazzaro really is an interesting choice for Pirates. At least it isn't Kawcynski

Mike2017-03-10 05:11:22
Hans needs to find other people to work with . Steve etc have no musical voice
And paint by numbers . Hans needs a the likes of glennie-smith and harry/rupert type of people again to work with .

Edmund Meinerts2017-03-10 14:59:05
Again, it's kind of unfair to knock Mazzaro for not having a musical voice when we have not really heard any solo scores from him yet. It's easy to go back to Zimmer's earlier scores and say "oh yeah, Balfe/Orvarsson/Jackman/NGS/HGW etc. did a great job there, you can totally hear them" because those guys have all done a lot of work on their own and we have a frame of reference now. The only solo Mazzaro score I've heard is Bullet to the Head, which is not any sort of indication of anything because it's written in this weird bluesy-rock style. Kawczynski has, as far as I know, zero solo works.

No, I haven't been as impressed by Zimmer's work with these guys either. But it's hard to say whether that's on them or Zimmer himself. So I'm not comfortable calling Mazzaro "the great", nor am I comfortable calling him "terrible". We simply don't know what he is at this point.

Ds2017-03-10 15:47:38
You're right Edmund. But personally almost everytime I see detailed credits, his name appear on the cues I like the most. So I just have a feeling he's gonna become a great composer. I may be wrong of course, no one knows at this point (except probably HZ).

Edmund Meinerts reply Replies: 6 || 2017-03-08 12:44:02
Get hype.

isildur2017-03-08 15:24:11
Whatt? It's out in May? That's like ages. I though it's releasing this month :(

Edmund Meinerts2017-03-08 15:42:07
That hasn't stopped 13 people from rating the score already! ;)

Joshua2017-03-08 17:59:08
Mounded on a Pirates score?! That's exciting.

Joshua2017-03-08 18:00:11
Fucking auto correct! I meant Mounsey.

Edmund Meinerts2017-03-08 21:14:51
Mounsey is everywhere these days!

I guess it's the closest we will ever hear to a John Powell PotC score...that and the James McKee Smith bits of Curse of the Black Pearl. :p

mpolonest1232017-03-08 23:19:24
@Edmund

Not to mention Anthony B. Willis, who has done some additional music for Pan, Rio 2, and HTTYD2...

If this ends up sounding like Powell mixed with Pirates, I will die a happy man.

Hopefully this also puts Geoff in the spotlight. He's one of those composers who gets pigeonholed in scoring shitty movies that most people usually ignore.

Agent reply Replies: 0 || 2017-03-08 13:22:36
