You guys are hilarious.and that means, tom did the perfect job. they wanted a shitty score and tom delivered. i am sure they would have fired desplat, williams or whoever, just because they would have failed. the task was to compose a shitty score and tom did that. their problem, if nobody buys the soundtrack album or avoid to see the film, just because of a bad filmscore. for us it is great, because we save money. The fact that the directors insisted on a shitty score doesn't absolve the score from being shitty.Go to JXL's Youtube channel and watch his latest video. He talks about the process of scoring the film. If you have a problem with the score, direct your criticism and complains at the director/producers/studio because JXL delivered the score they wanted. They wanted to stay away from themes and wanted an a very alternative score. If Tom didn't deliver that, they would've found someone else who would've done the job and you'll still complain that it doesn't sound how you wanted lol. <br><br>I've heard a couple of tracks which I liked a lot. <br><br>Stretcher Carry is avaibale on soundcloud. It' merely recreation but it's awesome almost like film version.
How can I answer that ?<br><br><br>"At the moment ?" is my only true answer for you lolOlive, if you think Brothers In Arms is nothing more than a RCP power anthem, then you're obviously missing something... To me it's one of the most brilliant action tracks of the last few years.Ola team ! <br>Maybe you do know Joe Kramer won't return to score Mission Impossible 6. And no one seems to know who will.<br>So here's my question : any chance to see someone from RC doing this ? <br><br>Thanks for reading me. Keep goin' your good job here, it's appreciated. :)<br>Wow. Pretty solid! It keeps the core track intact and, somehow, adds even more raw power into it. Thanks for sharing!
@MrZimmerFan<br><br><Is better because there is variety and orchestration><br><br>It is not because a score is orchestrated that it is automatically superior to one half orchestrated and half electronic. My problem with JL is that it's a small score for a composer with as many facets as Elfman. The music is uninspired and (taking one or another track) ends as it begins, nothing catches yours ears beyond of the romantic moments and of the new interpretations of the themes for the heroes.<br><br>@mpolonest<br><br><I actually love that score, but I think the main issue is Elfman completely ignoring what came before and trying to force the classic themes.><br><br>Elfman had two paths: Ignore everything and do things his way or respect what Zimmer did and maintain the sound of previous films. What did he do? He made an uninspiring hybrid of both.<br><br>@HybridSoldier<br><br><Leagues above, and yet I doubt Ben will be able to write something like "Brothers In Arms" from Mad Max.><br><br>Everyone in RCP knows how to do a power anthem these days.<br><br>@Mephariel<br><br><I would not have gotten a chance to work on blockbuster films like Dunkirk, Blade Runner 2049 without Zimmer's influence.><br><br>Obviously not. It could be in smaller jobs and present some potential for years to come.<br>I think I just sharted myself. Thanks!I'm surprised to have not seen more discussion of this score; I honestly think it represents some of the best music out of RCP in the past half-decade. Yeah, it still has the Journey to the Line / Time four-chord power anthem thing going on, but outside of those themes you have some really creative material that at times doesn't even feel stylistically RCP, and hell, even those structurally-simplistic themes are unusually well-orchestrated. And there's a real orchestra! Some of you may like this guy's cover of Brothers in Arms! Pretty epic, honestly. <br><br> com/watch?v=LCIY41hopq4This score has improved my mood on more than one occasion. Nancy Meyers needs to make another movie, so Hans can score it. lol.
Hello great team of Hans Zimmer,<br><br>I was recently listening to "The Might of Rome" (Gladiator soundtrack) and I am craving to listen the long version of the piece around 2:38 - 2:48 (something like an oriental flute). Does it exist as a standalone composition? Is it inspired from some third party artist, if yes, can you please tell my which one?<br><br>Thanks!@Olive<br><br>Wallfisch's career unquestionably benefited from his involvement with Zimmer. He wouldn't have gotten a chance to work on blockbuster films like Dunkirk, Blade Runner 2049 without Zimmer's influence. Wallfisch is a very talented composer, but let's be honest here, his music doesn't immediately strikes anyone as a big action guy. Having Zimmer's name pushing you helps.Hybrid, what do you admire more: Black Hawk Down or Tears of the Sun?"Elfman's score is like Whedon, horrendous & out of place."<br><br>Out of place, yes. Horrendous, no.Leagues above, and yet I doubt Ben will ever be able to write something like "Brothers In Arms" from Mad Max.<br><br>Comparing people is kinda useless...<br><br>The only who's right is Hans in the end, he knows when to use one and when to use the other... ;)

Benjamin Wallfisch is HZ's new Lorne Balfe right?

badbu2017-08-08 09:50:16
i don't think so...

Michael 2017-08-08 15:08:25
God no !!!! Don't think so . Balfe's music is superior than this anyday

Pete2017-08-08 15:09:21
No way . Balfe's is a far better composer .

MrZimmerFan2017-08-08 15:36:48
Wallfisch was orchestrator in many ocassions with Marianelli.

That's a very superior point

Afilm2017-08-08 15:41:16
Exactly - a great orchestrator . That's all

Oscarilbo2017-08-08 15:52:36
IMHO Wallfisch is indeed better than Balfe. His style tends more towards classic romantic than Remote Control, which is an interesting balance. Also, his thematic ideas are far more memorable. How come Balfe couldn't come up with something worthy of a Kung Fu Panda movie for the father-son relationship theme in the 3rd movie is beyond me.

Just listen A Cure for Wellness, by Wallfisch.

Mike2017-08-08 16:28:30
Oscarilbo - Father and Son fro. King Fu Panda 3 is an amazing theme . It is also very memorable . Maybe check out YouTube and see everyone else reactions !!! Wallfish is a great orchestrator but Balfe can write epic themes

MrZimmerFan2017-08-08 18:17:11
But epic themes aren't enough, Wallfisch in A Cure for Wellness creates a really creepy score, that lullaby or Volmer's theme, are memorable.

Mickael2017-08-08 19:05:57
Lol !!! Memorable hardly

James2017-08-09 00:07:14
Wallfisch is on his way to take Beltrami's former seat in horror movies. That's right.

Particularly I think the two are equally talented with the difference that wallfisch is more versatile.

Which of the two will continue in the "game" at the end of the next ten years, only time will tell.

Mike2017-08-09 03:45:45
James - regarding balfe not being versatile maybe have think about this

Action : Call of Duty, Terminator, Assasin Creed, Ghost in the shell
Comedy : Dillema, Penguins
Drama : Genius , Churchill, The Crown
Animation : Home, Lego
Horror : Blackwood, Marcella

Even looking at his web site - so much more with commercials etc

Mike2017-08-12 14:27:13
4 additional composers !!!!!

KAmis2017-08-13 04:54:49
4 additional composers isn't it ? How long is the score

Another Great Horror From Benjamin Wallfisch With His Second Collaboration With David F. Sandberg In Annabelle Creation. The Music If The Score Is Kind Of Drama/Sad And Then Come The Horror. Also He Will Works Again In A Horror Film IT(WaterTower Music) & Blade Runner 2049 As Additional Composer With Hans Zimmer & Jóhann Jóhannsson© 2001-2017 OST
