Why never ? <br>He dislikes the saga or not interested ? I'm curious.Does anyone know why "Knight's March" is not in the original album and if there is a extended edition that has this cue?<br><br>Rogue One was last minute change on Giacchino. I would like to hear Alexandre Desplat score to make a correct analysis from both scores. Besides that and with the little time, Giacchino's score is good, in the same style from maestro Williams. <br>Solo score is more different. Maestro Williams wrote the main theme and more cues, but what make the score different is Powell. He adapts Solo theme, and some of themes the original trilogy, but he puts him own stamp. Definitely is a Star Wars Score but with Powell stamp. Something Giacchino, maybe for the time, did not develop.<br>The film, well, i will watch on DVD.graciasWhile I always liked this score, it wasn’t until recently (when I revisited the film and album) that I realized how amazing it really is. There is still nothing that tops “Evacuating London” or the “Aslan” theme in terms of modern fantasy material. Each of the themes are brilliantly interconnected with each other, but stand on their own as well. I do wish there something a bit more distinctive for the White Witch, but that’s a small complaint.<br><br>The only other score that really reminds me of this (in terms of the string writing and piano material) is “Winters Tale” by Rupert. Also a pretty solid fantasy score.
I LOVE IT!!They kept the volume of the music so low in the movie, while rouge ones was jacked up and used as a center piece rather than side music like they did for John. Johnson piece is far better,  it they gave it a back seat <br>But Rogue One or Solo?<br><br>Because i remember more the music in RO after watching the movie than in Solo (well, maybe is because that theme for the character is so unispired and only i remember certain moments of the music)We are just gonna have to agree to disagree. ;-)I just said I haven't watched the movie or listened to the full score yet.
Still have to disagree, I love the new “Park Theme” and the way it sort of takes over from the classic theme. Then you have the Indominus theme, Owen’s theme, the villain theme, the family theme, the source music, etc.<br>I’ll take that any day over Lost World and JP3. Is it as good as the original score? Hell no, but not many scores are.'<br><br>The Lost World was a coherent evolution in the franchise, Williams maintains the original theme, but creates a darker and more percussive score (listen the expanded version by La La Land), because the movie isn't like Jurassic Park. And i getting appreciate more the Don Davis score for JPIII, better orchestrated than Jurassic World, both scores are FAR better than Jurassic World (one for a coherent and agressive tone and more memorable, and the other because is better orchestrated)<br><br>'And I do see the similarities between the vulture theme and those other ones listed. I haven't listened to this score yet, but I have more hopes for this than Rogue One.Between this one and Rogue One, I'll take the last one.<br><br>Unfortunately the two scores run away from the typical sound of the franchise and at various times seem just a pastiche copy.<br><br>It's a good score, but it does not feel so natural. Even Han's theme is almost unrecognizable, forgettable and incoherent with the character. It does not have the same identity as the themes of Luke, Leia, Rey, Anakin, Jyn, Yoda or Dameron.woow! love it
It's funny that when they announced that the star wars story films would be scored by different conposers, I was like... COME ONE JOHNY GET ON IT and sure enough a year later... Same with Pan (one of his best scores in my opinion).Well, for starters, the HAN SOLO theme Williams wrote is kind of...well...meh....<br><br>And I can see where Powell had to incorporate the original Star Wars and some Empire themes....Asteroid Field being one of them.<br><br>I just kinda hoped Powell would adapt Asteroid Field into something more than whatever the hell butchery happened here....Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! When was there a flute in this score?? I just noticed there's a credit for a flute soloist, and I've listened to this score several times and never noticed a flute? Does anyone have any idea which track it might be?It's really sad how more than half of this score is just very messy bombastic sound rather than a more structured melodic/thematic approach, this coming from a hardcore Powell fan. The saddest thing is that this was THE film for him to score, full of action and chase sequences, which John has always excelled at. Here however, rather than his usual voice, it sounds as if he shies away from it and goes back to anything established by Williams every 30 seconds or so. Whenever it sounds like a cue is leading up to something interesting and exploring a new idea, it just shies away from it. This might have been on the directors/producer's side of things... or that's what I'm choosing to believe, at least. Don't get me wrong, every so often there are some sections that really do shine, this often being when Powell isn't just trying to sound Williamsy and/or referencing old SW material. Maybe I just need to give the album a few more listens. Usually happens whenever a new Powell soundtrack album is released. Not sure, though. Just by listening to Ferdinand a few times, for example, you could really feel and understand the story, its characters and their development, as their themes developed as well. This one is just a mess and feels... off.Such an inspiring track. Loved it when it was released and still love it.

Assembling my own edit for IT, I've found at least seven cues that are different in the film:

-Georgie, Meet Pennywise (the children's choir sings "Oranges and Lemons" instead of whispering it)
-Egg Boy (Different choir performance when Ben is rifling through the book, there's less strings when Ben is chased by the headless boy)
-Mike's Fear (Seems to drop some of the orchestra and synths at the end)
-"Judith" (or "Painting Lady" if you prefer) (When Judith appears before Stan, the children's choir sings "Oranges and Lemons", before the shouting girl comes in like on the OST version. The end of the cue is choir-free)
-Slideshow (Cuts out some of the synth just before Pennywise actually comes out of the projector)
-Time To Float (Stronger percussion as Pennywise emerges from the freezer)
-Return to Niebolt (Adds in a synthetic timpani drum)
-The end credits includes another version of "Georgie, Meet Pennywise" that ends at the point where Georgie reaches into the grate.

And in the movie, in the opening titles, after the singing kid, plays "Every 27 Years (Reprise)" and in the end credits is when "Every 27 Years" plays, but without the "Oranges and Lemons" bit.

Also, I'm interest in what your edit is? I mean, are you creating film version of some tracks, or are you mixing them together or something like that?

Interestingly, though this score is being submitted for consideration in Awards Season, I haven't seen an FYC floating about for this one. Anybody in the know and is able to say whether the FYC is just this OST, or whether it's different in any way?

For years now WB has been jewing out and using the soundtrack as the FYC. Go figure that the same studio who re-releases and re-releases a harry potter collection year after year pulls this

I guess it would depend entirely on what sort of award WB is going after. I'm told if they submit it for an Oscar, they have to present it as is heard in the film, and the OST presentation would definitely disqualify it if that's the case. (The point came up when I asked why The Last Jedi was cues taken from the film stems when somebody else suggested it wasn't because of the ease given how the film was scored)

Skarsgard really nailed that scene, it was the scene which made it clear how different his Pennywise is from Tim Curry's.

Finished with my first listen and I'm loving what I heard. Normally 80+ minutes tend to drag for me... not here. The music is consistently strong and Wallfisch is able to do something most horror composers fail at; keep the horror underscore interesting. I tend to normally get bored with horror scores when they pull the same tricks, but I found myself genuinely unnerved with the vocal effects he throws in.

As for the themes, while there are definitely no competitors for ACFW they all work extremely well. Especially when they allow for big moments of wonder or softer emotion. I'm really loving this one, not quite as much as Wellness but definitely in the same ballpark.

mpolonest123 - definitely sounds like it might be inspired by it. I heard the "glockenspiel roll" employed by Bellis used in the track "Deadlights" as well. If these things are intentional nods, then it's pretty cool that the score at least acknowledges the past.

Does anyone know what tracks appear in the end credits of the movie (in case there is music, that I think it is). I think the credits open with Every 27 Years (Reprise), but I don't know what's next.

I don't know if anybody stayed behind long enough to find out given that the only thing waiting at the end of the credits is one last Pennywise laugh and "IT: Chapter 1". I'd assume "Georgie's Theme" played next.

Pretty good score that fits the film very well (which, by the way, is a great film). I don't think the OST misses anything off of any significance... but it doesn't seem to be in chronological order either.

Well Ben wrote more than a hundred cues for it ! Lots of very very short pieces... The OST has got everything needed indeed. As for chronlogical order, the second half is, but the first is kinda all over the place with lots of combined cues so hard to really place them, but here's what I came up with (if you don't want to start butchering every track lol) :

Hundred cues! Wow! That's s lot of work on his part. I kind of like the horror pays but I would have love if he had created more tracks like Paper Boat, Beverly or Blood Oath, but I guess the movie didn't needed more. Also I hope will be brought back to score the second chapter so he can use some of his themes and develop them.

It's nice to know the second half is in order, though I think "The Pennywise Dance" should go before "Deadlights" since it plays as Pennywise does the 'old man jig'.
