Rona ma Africa<br>Ratang ka kopano<br>Batho ba Africa<br>Ngothando<br>Sizongoba<br>Ma AfricaAlso, i saw Tomb Raider... it was OKI don't Mad Max as score was great, i enjoyed few tracks, but not much neither. Also that too for Deadpool, the main theme is kinda good, the rest is forgettable.oof...if you "can't wait any longer!" then stop waiting and shut up about it. Convenient indeed :P
@Edmund<br>I think one of the key problems is that he seems to pick the shittiest films to work on. Point Break, Dark Tower, Tomb Raider, etc. <br>But then we get Black Mass, Brimstone, and Mad Max, all excellent scores/films. And I know the quality of the film doesn’t need impact the quality of the score but JXL obviously is pigeonholed as an action/electronics composer. I would love to hear him expand his range and work on scores outside of the action genre. Much like how Hans does a number of different scores.<br><br>Imagine a Junkie XL comedy or romantic drama!Nevermind found it on youtube. Well how convenientI wasn't yelling at the site workers. How has this been out. I have looked all over youtube and the internet and I can't find it. Can you kindly point me to where I can listen/download it??I wasn't a huge fan of Mad Max in the first place, but I'm increasingly convinced that it was the peak of Mr. XL's powers as a film composer. It’s funny you say that, in The Dark Tower there is an amazing string section at the opening of “Death Always Wins” (which was cut out of the film of course) that lasts maybe 10 seconds and is probably the highlight of the score for me.<br><br>As for Tomb Raider, I’ve tried revisiting it in the past few days to see if I would like it better.<br>No.<br>Almost everything about this score is functional at best, undeveloped at worst. It’s almost as if long sections go by with only sound design, just to have a burst of drums or orchestra, then back to sound design. And yes, I know Mad Max was the same case, but it’s frustrating to hear a lesser version of that sound years later from the same composer.
There was this tiny section towards the end of the track The Devils Sea, which I thought was pretty daring, symphonywise. But I just didn't have the care in me to even cut that little 10 second part out to add to my collection.I'm not really sure either. I'm having a hard time making the tracklist from what leaked line up with the tracklist we see here. And I don't think everything is on there, I can't find the Atli track for instance...Okay, so maybe "decade-plus" would have been more accurate...My point stands! ;)Bullet reused on dunkirk, so this what I mean hybrid when 2 month ago I said that Hans reused some cues from BvS on Dunkirk...i'm not criticizing just noting.Officially, the whole BvS score is credited to HZ & JXL, so the theme is kind of "his" even if he didn't write it himself. Note that his formulation is very careful and leaves all interpretations open: "I may have had a hand" didn't mean he wrote it. It can simply mean that he gave Hans his opinion about it, or some piece of advice on the mix or the drum pattern for instance...
JXL (from facebook): "While I may have had a hand in writing themes for powerful heroines like Tris, Furiosa, Wonder Woman and Lara Croft, there's so much room for talented female composers!"<br>This page: Is She With You? (Wonder Woman Theme) (5:46) <br> Hans Zimmer, Steve Mazzaro<br>WTF?If only there was enough demand for this track to be released like there was for NTFC. <br>I love everything about it, ticking and thumping and some muted synths in the background. <br><br>I hope it gets released or leak someday. I tweeted at Lorne saying Hans should put out some unreleased Dunkirk tracks like Lorne did with GITS and he liked my tweet but that's it.@William<br><br>Do not yell at the workers of this site. They have nothing to do with the official release of the score., first of all, is a fan site.<br><br>@Meinerts<br><br>>Decades<<br><br>I hope you are at least thirty years old.<br>>Decades<br><br>Episode I came out 1999. Just a year shy of being able to say waiting for decadeS@lordy<br>This all depends on how the music leaks. Many, many unofficial releases are incomplete. <br>Mostly because :<br>#1 they weren't properly ripped from the archives<br>#2 all tracks couldn't be located<br>#3 files are damaged<br>#4 someone decided not to share them (but I doubt this as in this case the missing tracks seem quite random and far from being the iconic ones)<br><br>The only way to get them is to wait and hope for someone else to share a version from another source!

Just finished watching the serie today and I'm really sad since there is alot of great material not released in the soundtrack I wish one day the complete soundtrack released for this " the greatest documentary ever" for me.

it's always the same with hans ;-)

I bought a 2CD version. It's, to my experience, very complete.

rockhound2018-02-20 18:02:34
Planet Earth II has a 2CD release, but Blue Planet II?

Balfe2018-02-23 14:58:22
Some good music here but would be so much better if Zimmer hadn't had to homogenize it all again. He is a shameful corporation.

I don't suppose you have credits for this score, Hybrid?

Beautiful explanation of the development of Ocean Bloom Song:

Beautiful score, perfectly fitting. Reminds me a little of 'The Land Before Time' feeling. Really like the theme, subtle but lovely. I also like how there is less tracks and the tracks are longer than PEII with a bit more weight. Too many short cues in the PEII soundtrack to really get into as a whole.

Anonymous2017-11-10 20:05:52
the shorter presentation here was better, surprisingly

Any news for an official release of the 'Ocean Bloom' song?

This score, I have to say, moves me more than Planet Earth II did. Planet Earth II really pushed the "let's have an epic theme," which was fine, but said epic theme was kind of...generic. This theme sounds like more thought was put into it, and it sounds like Zimmer had a bit more of an imprint on this score, too. It's nice to hear some unabashedly melodic stuff from him in an era where experimenting with soundscapes seems to have become his thing.*

*yes, I'm waiting for disagreement on that last sentence... ;)

Surfing Dolphins = Celebrate The Oscars v3? lol

This is a really fun, big thoughtful score and the orchestrations are beautiful.

George 2017-10-30 22:58:52
I'm just curious to know just how involved he was this time. He was pretty busy this year so its hard for me to imagine that he had a lot of time to have serious involvement. Although I hope I'm wrong haha, it'd be a nice to get a melodic movie score from him again. This is great!

Mephariel2017-10-31 00:36:15
It is also worth noting that Jasha Klebe wrote additional music for this score.

I think Zimmer did more this time than last time. Last time, it specifically stated that he only did the main theme. But with that said, I have a feeling most of it was him guiding rather than actually writing much.

Mike (OTM)2017-10-31 00:38:25
George, well, he no doubt did "The Blue Planet." (Watch me be wrong...)

He also, at least, co-wrote a track with Radiohead. But notice that, unlike Planet Earth II, it says, "Score by Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea, and David Fleming." Planet Earth II had "theme by Hans Zimmer" as a separate heading.

Mephariel2017-10-31 03:55:51
Zimmer definitely wrote "The Blue Planet." In BBC's behind the scenes video, only Zimmer's name was on the cuesheet.

PG2017-10-31 07:27:33
Agreed that this is a lovely score. However, some parts of it sound very Edward Scissorhands to me. The Family Theme in particular.

Marts2017-11-01 04:56:34
Yeah, love hearing some orchestral melodic stuff again - still pretty minimal but I like that. I think the PEII theme fit that perfectly, and this theme does too. Puts you right into the big blue.

Beautiful score but... any idea when (ocean) Bloom will be released?

Mephariel reply Replies: 2 || 2017-10-30 08:33:56
Just finished listening to the whole score. It is mostly fantastic. Epic, powerful, and dynamic.

The main theme not as addicting and powerful as Planet Earth II, but better written, a bit more sophisticated, and just feels right for the subject matter.

Besides that, some of the best cues are the ones with vocals like "Surfing Dolphins," "A Forest Awakens," and "Ducks And Currents."

If you are looking for the more of a Zimmeresque cue, check out "Walrus: The Right Piece of Ice," which reminds me of many Zimmer solemn ending pieces like "Home" from The Lone Ranger.

Just as I suspect, the best Zimmer score this year.

Kekec2017-10-30 15:29:57
How much of it is actually Zinmmer's work? Just the main or end title, or did he compose more tracks this time?

...2017-10-30 16:44:46
He did more this time!

It's strange that this isn't on iTunes and Spotify yet, it's supposed to come out today.

Yep, I‘m also waiting....

Apparently it's available on Spotify UK but nowhere else

Silent2017-10-30 01:38:35
It's available on iTunes France, now.

90% sure this will be my favorite score with Zimmer's name attached to it this year.
