“Aw fuck, it's back.” what a stupid comment to make.i haven’t seen the film yet but either way being negative about people liking something is stupid .

So Peter, on a scale of dense to completely brain dead, how low is your IQ?
Everyone, I have a question for you about a Mission Impossible Fallout movie by who will score that film. Last time I saw Henry Jackman was removed from IMDB app. But I found out the news about confirmed about Lorne Balfe will score that movie because Lorne Balfe seem all over the pictures. But I kept waiting for a film music reporter website about who will score for the mission impossible fallout movie, but we will find out the update for next month I believe that.

I facebooked Balfe and ask him but he said he was not doing it even though the music in the trailer is by him
This is feels like a very temped soundtrack, only that explains why the score is so generic. I wonder which movies music scenes producer-director used to make lorne do this.
Track 8 - is Tron legacy (dont know maybe he worked on it, powell was involved maybe he was too)
Mephariel
2018-03-23 16:35:49
Is there a Balfe score that is not very temped? Every single Balfe score I listened to is basically giving an old score a fresh set of paint.

Mephariel - please educate us . Genius is what ? Blackwood is what ? Marcella is what ?
Mephariel
2018-03-27 04:42:02
Genius? You mean like in the track "Forbidden Love" where he tempted the shit out of "Where We're Going" in Interstellar?
Edmund Meinerts
2018-03-27 08:52:48
Mephariel, don't expect any sort of objectivity when it comes to the many-headed Balfe shill that is Andrew/Andreas/Andy. Although I note that even he has struggled to say anything nice about Hurricane Heist or PR: Uprising...some things are beyond the realm if the possible I suppose.

@Mephariel
What score is the track Forbidden Love from?
Max Potcats
2018-03-27 19:55:51
From Genius, I find some little similarities with Quantifiable Connection from interstellar complete score, but nothing shameful, if it's a temp this is not the worst we heard..

I’m not a big balfe fan but honestly Edmund you have issues.Balfe obviously knows what he is doing and people keep hiring him.we get it that you love John Powell but not everyone else does.So give it a rest with the balfe bashing because it’s boring now .Night

Mephariel
2018-03-29 03:19:36
@Max
I'll be really specific. The entire first section of "Forbidden Love," the melodic baseline came directly from 6:03 of "Where We're Going."
It is actually pretty obvious.
Ian
2018-03-29 06:28:00
Mephariel - I have no issue calling Lorne or anyone else for temping/recycling cues, but honestly those two cues seem incidentally similar if at all. And Forbidden Love is *drastically* superior, so even if there was temping involved, Lorne did genuinely good work there IMO

Why do you guys keep mentioning Powell? I'm not.

Meh
Andrew, Andreas, Andy, Mike, Michael, Peter, Pete, x name + music or x name + film. They are the same person.
I got a friend who was an intern of Legendary Pictures and he said the reason there's only a remix of Ramin's original theme is because some copyright issues between Universal and Warner Bros. Anyone can confirm that? Hybrid?
It is out. Not bad but it doesn't sound very epic or memorable. Tomb Raider had better moments.
The orchestration is so empty.
MrZimmerFan
2018-03-22 18:05:12
I will said this, is more enjoyable than Hurricane Heist.
But the first was more memorable
Anonymous
2018-03-22 18:15:58
yeah but this movie would be better fit for a jablonsky score.
he has bigger themes and a richer sound
MrZimmerFan
2018-03-22 18:36:27
The first movie has memorable theme and enjoyable action tracks, this one, has one or three actions cues i have enjoyed, more than than i expected, but the main theme is forgetteable.
Jablonsky would fit if is the Jablonsky, for example, for TF5 or first Transformers (and i am guilty pleasure fan for Battleship)
And now i lost respect in the whole internet :D
George
2018-03-22 18:49:45
Agreed. It’s simply not that memorable. Out of Pacific Rim 2, a wrinkle in time, tomb raider, and hurricane heist I thought for sure at least ONE would be a hit. Unfortunately all four of them seem pretty forgettable. Really hoping Hans puts something memorable and iconic together for X Men Dark Phoenix.
MrZimmerFan
2018-03-22 18:53:03
At least Tomb Raider and A Wrinkle of Time have a theme.
mpolonest123
2018-03-22 19:46:03
There are some fun action cues and an interesting mix of electronics that sounds like a hybrid of Tron Legacy and Chappie but is honestly so forgettable outside of that. Why on earth did they opt out of using Ramin's themes?
It would be like if POTC2 came out and instead of using "He's a Pirate" or any of the other motifs, Disney hired a Hans Zimmer protege to come in and write their own take on the material. When I go to see Star Wars I expect Star Wars. With this I expected at least ties to the first one.
superultramegaa
2018-03-22 20:04:00
The thematic continuity complaint is a problem with the movie industry in general now. Not just Pacific Rim. It's a problem with Marvel, DC, and hell, any movie series really. Even the new TMNT movies, as good as Jablonsky's score for the second one was, still couldn't keep the original themes.
The only ones that do keep the original thematic material lately have been Transformers, Star Wars, Star Trek (at least the first 2's scores I don't know about the 3rd's), Pirates of the Caribbean, a few animated film series, and Harry Potter.
Not sure if this is a director or composer fault (probably director/studio), but it's just something we're going to have to deal with for a while until the next phase of film score trends come along.
MrZimmerFan
2018-03-22 20:10:47
@superultramega: The three Star Trek movies are compose by the same composer, and the producer is J.J Abrams.
And the theme is the same.
mpolonest123
2018-03-22 20:44:18
@Superultramega
What's odd is that the PR theme was used in the marketing. Same with Zimmers material being used in the Justice League trailers, so obviously the studio liked it enough. Probably the directors choice.
mpolonest123
2018-03-23 13:34:22
I was also thinking about something; Lorne Balfe worked on Terminator Genisys, a score in which the original thematic material was used appropriately but also combined with his new material. How a sequel score SHOULD be. Obviously this was the directors choice. It seems like a lot of these newer directors have no clue how music works, something which should be one of the least difficult parts of making a film.
MrZimmerFan
2018-03-23 14:19:27
The only themes in Terminator Genysis was the main theme and part of the Reese theme, i guess.
I like that soundtrack, I think that score is fun action, but I'm noticing Shao Industries are more like Tron Legacy music to me. My Opinion about Pacific Rim first one by Ramin Djawadi's score is better and his theme is perfect!
@hybrid do you have any news about Daniel suett(2014 winner of Hans Zimmer want you..,Savage Kingdom Composer, Oak Island Composer). Why Hans didn't hire him in some of his movie he's a big talent. I love Savage Kingdom soundtrack it's absolutely Zimmer style.
Well I got two tracks from this soundtrack and it sounds as usual like a shit 💩.

Why just why for god sake Jablonski can give a big addition for this movie just why. Balfe I ask you to give back my money that I spent on theses two tracks...Even Joseph Trapanese can do better on this. Sorry for balfe fans but I'm really disappointed since I love this movie so much.

I was wondering that too yesterday, the director posted a video of Lorne's music last summer on Instagram and the music sounded pretty good, so hopefully we get a release!

They will also release of score for Marcella by Lorne balfe next week.
fs
2018-03-03 12:28:47
Compared to the first score it is just generic... like every weekend output from lorne. It always sounds like he has no joy in composing... just spitw out some tracks, which only are accepted because he uses hans powerfull sample library, and job done. I am sure is able to do a lot better
The first track just blew me away, very cool and powerful. Between this and Tomb Raider I think March will be a very good month for us!
Fares Tdkr
2018-03-02 14:07:18
The First track... Well maybe you mean the first 2 min which sound like jablonski(merlin's Staff from TF5) then start the noise in the second two mins.
Ds
2018-03-02 14:29:17
I like the whole track, but what you call "the noise" is actually the part that impressed me the most!
that second one, it looks like that some idiot put one tracks two times there so it sounds pretty bad

2018-02-21 17:31:43
Why does Shao Industries sound like CLU from Tron Legacy?
...
2018-02-21 17:47:42
This sounds fan made tbh...
MrZimmerFan
2018-02-21 17:56:11
Is strange, is fricking strange.
Dosen't sound like a score for a giant monster-robot movie, at all.
Now, i would love hear Paseano or Djawadi
George
2018-02-21 18:31:55
Hybrid, do you know if these are legit? Shao Industries sounds okay but the "main title" track sounds... well.. weird, almost like something is wrong with the upload
Georg
2018-02-21 18:48:10
If they messed up the upload, then I don't think it would sound quite as strange... the first 20 seconds sound intriguing until the off beat drums come in and it sounds like crap from then on
Iamtommie
2018-02-21 19:52:25
I'm sorry to say. But it sounds awful. If the whole score is going to sound like that I won't buy it

Tracks are gone, so yeah, I'd guess they made a mistake somehow
Max Potcats
2018-02-22 10:57:56

MrZimmerFan
2018-02-22 11:48:50
I don't think a discography like Milan post fake tracks.
There is must something wrong
Balfe
2018-02-22 14:54:09
I would not be surprised if this was done by Balfe finally trying out his real compositional skills outside of him just acting as Hans' copy assistant. Everything that Balfe has done on his own to date is abysmal (okay The Lego Batman movie had some flair but that was probably done by the next generation of assistants).
Please go back to Ironclad and listen to Balfe before he was HBalfe, to hear his skills. Not very good, right? The man is an arranger not a composer.
This score will be utterly crap or it will sound like Tron and Transformers.
Shame as Del Toro and Steven Knight work with real composers like Max Richter who would have excelled here.

2 tracks are already available on itunes. on march 9th, there will be also a score release of lornes music for the television series MARCELLA.

Also. TRACKLIST YOU GET DID WHERE???

Edmund Meinerts
2018-02-25 20:48:24
A lot of the time when a score's final action/battle sequence is split up among several tracks I edit them together into one track myself in Audacity. The most recent example was Black Panther with "The Great Mound Battle/Glory to Bast/The Jabari, Pt II". And my edit of the final battle music from King Arthur runs nearly 15 minutes. Maybe something similar will be possible for the last few tracks of this score.
Wasn't John Paesano going to do this? Why he ended up not doing it? I think Balfe is a good choice for this movie but I would have loved to hear Paesano's work on this.
Anyway, I hope Balfe keeps the main theme from the previous movie because it was amazing. I think is one of Djawadi's best themes (at least in movie scores)
Edmund Meinerts
2018-02-09 12:27:10
One positive development of the switch from Paesano to Balfe is that I think it's much likelier we hear more of Djawadi's themes from the first Pacific Rim. A fellow RCP member would be more inclined to keep it in the family, so to speak.
MrZimmerFan
2018-02-09 12:48:12
Paseano recorded the score last fall in Vienna, the producers dropped out.
As much like Balfe, i would like hear the Paesano's score.
