Lovely score with beautiful themes, atmospheric vocal parts and a nice orchestration. This is a highly underrated album. It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. The complexity rivals some of the great works of the past.

It's strange to me that this is called "choral works". Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves. My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything)

1. Change Of Plan (Unused) (5:47)Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same time

That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinionSo it won't be a last minute and hasty job?No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.
Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.I think Lorne teased this some time ago by sending a picture of researching Russian music on insta (maybe)Hello,

I'm looking for the translation of the song God Yu Tekkem Laef Blong Mi in English of French.

Could anyone help me ?

Thank you !you can't, it's only an info for the complete scoreAccording To Filmmusicreporter.com, it Is true Lorne Balfe Is Scoring Black Widow.

Wow this guy Is the Best, this is the first time balfe scoring an MCU since Iron Man(worked as an additional music). I can't believe that Alexandre Desplat, who is a good composer left the film just like I remember Rogue One. Well, Now i Hope that Lorne Balfe makes a great score just like he does always.

Soo, there is a new trailer for the Third season. I'm very exited.
The second half of the trailer sounds like Djawadi did it.

Do we know if he's doing the 3rd season and will there be a release for the score. If so, is it again on the night after the last eoisode aired??

Shince Thomas 2020-02-25 19:17:57
Most probably

Does anyone know if Ramin is planning on participating in any of the upcoming Jonathan Nolan Amazon productions?

Mr.Unbreakable2020-02-14 15:27:16
In principle he has many possibilities, he has already worked with him several times, why not do it once more?

The comic con trailer for Season 3 looks excellent.

Really looking forward to next season & score.

I saw some early 1900 world. (One of the other parks?) Hope Djawadi does something cool with that.

Very excited

Any idea on the name of the song from the trailer?

Dark Knight2019-07-22 15:44:43
I just hope they bring back William's sad theme and other variations of Dolores's theme which were unreleased in season 2

Anonymous 2019-07-22 18:59:29
In which tracks does William's sad theme appear?

Dark Knight2019-07-23 02:19:06
@anonymous it appears in the track "vanishing point" but there's a better unreleased version of it when William was confessing to his wife

Dark Knight reply Replies: 2 || 2018-08-25 00:46:33
Is there any chance of the complete score ever releasing? There's so much beautiful stuff missing. Like that "full of splendor" scene in episode 2 which gives serious blade runner vibes. Also the music in "vanishing point" when William is confessing to his wife

Beware spoilers:

Yes! I really want the missing music in Vanishing Point. Also, the end variation of the Dr. Ford theme when William rides away after the confederates battle and first sees his daughter. Another one would be the variation of the Sweetwater theme when we see the village in Shogun world. And the music when the train drives into the Mesa, the Dolores and Teddy love scene music and more variations of the Dolores theme which we hear in the second part of "Myself" on the album.

...2018-10-16 11:11:30
and the missing music when Clementine rides to the Passage in episode 10, where everybody starts fighting each other. I can't understand why this isn't on the album. The theme is slightly hinted in the first part of vanishing point I think but in a much softer and slower version.

The development of the music in season 2 is great.
Love the Westworld suite, a lot of Person of Interest in this cue :)

Congrats to Ramin for 2 well-deserved Emmy nominations! Hope he can finally take it home this year

Love it! Thanks for also including the artists who are covered here!

Wondering why the version of Codex on the album is not used in the show itself... instead they used the actual song. Was this cue originally going to be used then ?
