Right. Hopefully the other missing stuff gets released on the 2nd CD though.why does Amity say (traditional)?Just rip it off the DVD....no biggieAll credits added for the OST, even though since it's long montages from lots of cues, it doesn't make THAT much sense... :)Which cues were written by Steve Jablonsky?
me too!No piano. I believe it was mostly strings and had a small bit of the choir.Which instruments were used to play the love theme? Piano?<br>There was also a Jean/Scott love theme that was briefly used in the bedroom scene after they return from space. It was included in the end credits suite as well.CD RELEASE?
Yes! That piano part is amazing! <br>„when charles and jean stand in front of the school“Saw the movie. Great score and it really fits the movie.<br><br>Missing stuff:<br>- 25 seconds of a piano version of Gap without the brass and bells<br>- a 30 second badass version of the main theme during the mageneto/jean helicopter stand off<br>- 1.5 minute end credits suite. Typical Zimmer to leave the best and most epic track and best main theme version off the album. I hope it will be on CD2, but knowing Zimmer the best tracks always remain unreleased. This is another escape from ship...after listening and listening...this score is truly amazing! i love it so much! i want the suites and ideas NOW! :DWhere can I find this?been listening to this score for a week now and i am going to wait a little more before putting a comment on it here... but there's something else i have been saying for a while now. let's stop associating scores with movies and start seeing them as a work of art in their own rights. (albeit inspired by movies)<br><br>people are here complaining about the movie that it didn't speak to them. and then i have the feeling that they project their disappointment on the soundtrack. but both pieces of art co-exist and not depend on each other. i, for example, seldom watch any of these movies. but i have listened to their soundtracks and love them.<br><br>also i never asked for an extended CD before... but we need one for this one. it's very clear that tracks like gap and coda were definitely shortened.<br><br>also i never asked for an extended CD before but we need one for DP. it's clear that tracks like gap and coda were definitely shortened.
There's nothing unique about those choirs, standard East European chorus stuff mixed with Johansson. Check out Debbie Wiseman's Warriors from 2000 and you'll get a much more elaborate version of this music.I cant say that this chorus reminds me of anything I have heard Zimmer done before. And I have played all his scores to death.I agree that Gap is the best track. My main complain with this score is that it feels that Zimmer composed it on autopilot. For me those choirs sounded too much to Electro's Theme in TASM. Is too standard and has very few remarkable moments. The movie itself lacks of personality and the score is part of that problem. I think they just wanted "dark" and hired Zimmer for making his dark ostitatos.I thought I read somewhere Armageddon was the last bay film that hgw was a part of<br>===============================<br><br><br>Well, Bay and HGW were not exactly best friends during Armageddon. Bay is very demanding and tough. HGW is also not a shy dude. He is an opinionated guy who stands his ground, as you can tell by his interviews. He reminds me of Mancina…..He's not afraid to speak up and have his opinion heard. And just like Mancina, his relationship with the Bay/Bruckheimer family seemed to be...….a bit complicated. Yet, he worked on Bad Boys 2 and Deja Vu. Now, it is possible - tho not likely - that Bay didn't even know that HGW did some work on BB2. Maybe it was just a favor for Steve and Trevor. Under the table, so to speak..... Personally, I don't believe that's the case. Whatever the truth, this is a great example of how different those composers are. Trevor and Steve work great with Bay/Bruckheimer and they always deliver great results. While composers like HGW and Mancina have problems with more demanding filmmakers. And apparently they don't even like action cinema. I don't necessary blame them, even though Mancina certainly didn't do himself any favors by trashing the genre and the people who back in the 90's gave him a shot to prove himself as a composer.Love John Powell. But he is not even close to Williams. Williams made his mark on every genre of film scoring. He freaking turn a holocaust movie score into a masterpiece for the ages.<br><br>Today, that score would have been some generic sound design.<br><br>Powell is an incredibly gifted orchestral composer. But he doesn't have the dimensions of someone like Williams. <br><br>

Henry has this big tendency on every single OST release to remix everything and remove a big deal of electronic layers & percussions (which is a very bad decision in my book, it's like Backdraft OST which has half of HZ's electronics removed)...

Keep the EP of that score, it has the cues "untouched". Have fun comparing them with the final OST tracks, you'll notice all that got removed in the process...

Meta2018-09-29 11:49:09
He took out his electronics? What? That's kinda what made his scores so good....They had a tempo and shit.

Edmund Meinerts2018-09-29 12:11:05
I actually kinda prefer the OST version of the cues for Backdraft...

Has Jackman done that on previous scores? I have to say I never noticed that before.

Hybrid Soldier2018-09-29 12:34:39
Pretty every single OST release since 2014...

John F2018-09-29 16:18:15
Wait Dirty Dozen is only on the EP as well?? Jeez why would they do that?

mpolonest123 2018-09-29 16:54:11
And that’s why you don’t take criticisms to heart. Winter Soldier was a genuinely good score that used its electronics effectively. That would be like Lorne Balfe ditching his writing style because some “purists” got upset at Mission Impossible.

Edmund Meinerts2018-09-29 18:13:16
I highly doubt that has anything to do with it. If anything, the lesson from that should have been "don't leave the best cue off the album" (the Dom Lewis arrangement of the main theme from the end credits)

(also that score is still terrible and the Winter Soldier theme is a disgrace)

I just watched the movie!! I heard a lot of Silvestri & I thought the music was awesome. It's, from what I could hear, in the same scoring style as Kong & Jumanji. I personally, really love his new kind of scoring. Awesome music!

ThePhantasm2018-09-14 06:12:04
Lakeshore records released an EP not an actual album. I'm so pissed. Should of been La-Land records releasing this. the EP literally has no more than 6 mins of music. I was so excited for this score

Mephariel2018-09-14 07:33:50
I just listened to "The Arrival." Awesome track. It totally captures the tone of the original score. I can't wait to hear the rest of the score.

Russel2018-09-14 09:47:42
Yeah, not sure why they're doing this, but a full album is supposedly releasing at the end of this month.

September 27th.

Meta2018-09-26 19:56:59
SO far everything I have heard from the EP pales in comparison to John Debneys efforts in "Predators".

Maybe they haven't released Jackman's insane genius queues yet....Here's hoping.

Anonymous2018-09-26 20:07:16
Remember... Debney's score was critized for be only ''copy and paste'' of the Silvestri's material.

Such underrated score, and The Predator is not exception

MrZimmerFan2018-09-26 20:12:46
Ugh, the last comment was me, i forget put the name in it :)

mpolonest123 2018-09-26 21:40:44
Debney’s score was definitely much more than a rehash of the original, although I can understand some of the criticisms that he didn’t necessarily bring much “new” material to the table. Still a kickass score though.

Based on the EP material it sounds like Jackman is putting more of his voice than what Debney did. And the “Dirty Dozen” material sounds fun, I’m hoping the rest holds up.

MrZimmerFan2018-09-27 11:05:11
When saw the movie the last week (was just fun), and there is a lot of Silvestri's mamerisms, and themes from the original Predator

MrZimmerFan2018-09-27 14:41:49
Out in New Zealand, different cover and posted tracklist

MrZimmerFan2018-09-27 19:26:12
Well, now you can choose the artwork cover :)

mpolonest123 2018-09-28 15:20:30
Just took a listen and I’m liking the end result. It’s as if Jackman took the “flavor” of Alan Silvestri, but still kept his own writing style. I definitely hear a lot of Kong: Skull Island and the Captain America scores. One big surprise is the minimal use of electronics, especially compared to Debney.

Anonymous2018-09-28 20:29:49
@mpolonest123
I won't be surprised if he cut electronic stuff for the album versions. He's been doing that to his albums for almost everything since after Winter Soldier.

While Henry Jackman isn’t my favorite composer out there I’m excited to
hear what he does with this. He’s proven that he can write similar to Silvestri with portions of the Captain America scores, and there is a clip on YouTube which features some of the score. It basically sounds like “Predator” with some electronics overlaid.

ThePhantasm2018-09-08 21:59:50
Yo for real, I've been dying for some info but damn nothing so far. I hope the cover album is good too

Anonymous2018-09-09 01:08:45
it’s orobably gonna be the one with the orange background and the bigger predator holding the smaller predators skull

ThePhantasm2018-09-09 06:46:02
I hope you're right cause that one looks good as hell

ThePhantasm2018-09-13 06:20:21
HOLY SHIT!!! I just heard the first track from the soundtrack called The Arrival wow just wow. It's a different type of Jackman. Sounds incredible now I'm really hyped. It's on soundcloud if you guys want to hear it as well

MrZimmerFan2018-09-13 08:39:26
The score won't be released until 28th September, tomorrow is a EP

calm urself. I mean it’s ok at best.

Jean-Luc reply Replies: 0 || 2018-09-10 15:47:25
I heard the predator will have 16 or 25 tracks in the soundtrack like Logan soundtrack, but that's how Lakeshore Records did like right now. In my opinion, I think the predator 2018 is better fit for La-La Land Records & Var&#232;se Sarabande for limited edition like last time with original predator, predator 2 and predators too.

Mephariel reply Replies: 0 || 2018-09-09 22:00:11
Interesting description of the score:

"A playful score by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class) maintains a playful tone while making a few nods to the original."

-Hollywood Reporter

So maybe Silvestri's theme will appear in some capacity. But playful is not how I imagined the score to be. This might be a good thing.

Haven't you found out about the predator final trailer online on YouTube today? It's really good & brutal trailer and did you hear background music by Henry Jackson or different music.

MrZimmerFan2018-08-31 17:26:17
Nop, i don't think the musuc in that is part of the score

Jean-Luc 2018-08-31 21:45:57

actually i dont like Jackman music, i am played Uncharted 4 his music is not good. He compose legendary game but he doesnt not hard working. I guess he accept the job '' okey lets do something'' and he crap music.. This is my perspective of Henry.
