Hello!
Have you any Informations for a Relaease to "PAGAN PEAK"? German TV Series "Der Pass" from Jacob Shea, Produced by Hans Zimmer?also was really good fantastic score IMHO his best since Mad Max.Just saw the film Music was hitting on point in all the right spots.Don't know where else to put this... How much music did Hans + co. write for The Last Face? I know the movie flopped so it will probably never get released, but the 15 or so minutes that I've heard between YouTube and Andrew K's soundcloud is really pretty good. It's like Interstellar + The Lion King + Woman in Gold.Dear Hans Zimmer.

I have no idea if you ever read this, but i just want to thank you for all the amazing music you have create through the years.
You are truly a gifted man.
I hope you along your life had time to teach young talents so they will be able to create such amazing music as you in the future.
I dont know you, but i think you have a love for music and to experiment with music and be the best you can be.
I enjoy your music for movies and impressed how you created the music for "interstellar" with old fashion church ovel/pipes. I think this show you are great and special when you think out of the box and play and experiement with music due to creative talent.
( ps.. i cant even play an instrument my self, but i love your music ).

I wish you the very best, and peace and quiet during old age and hope you will continue to create music as long as you live. Please teach other talented young people to step in your place.

Thank you for everyting amazing work.

A fan ;-)
7m4!!! The BEST cue from Hans since years!!!Whoa, that's right, I forgot a Gladiator sequel was being made. But I feel like something would have to shake Heaven and Earth before Hans worked on a Ridley Scott movie again. But then, Powell reunited with Greengrass for Jason Bourne (however uninspired that score was). So I guess anything's possible.I got them from a japanse store after an hour going through hoops VPN paypal and google translate.

Very strange cause this are one of the best tracks of the entire score

Very weird the score or the movie havent attracted much attention at all.Hope Zimmer comes back to do Gladiator 2.Currently the only way I know to get it from is Japanese iTunes.

Considering how well the film has done I am surprised that Warner Bros. hasn’t rushed out a Deluxe Edition by now.

I’m personally dying to hear the full Sicily fight sequence, which includes that badass Mera action motif.Is there any news about that expanded/deluxe album Rupert talked about on twitter? I would love to get my hands on more material from the score as the album is missing so much...
I'd love to see Hans do another historical epic, for the record. I'm sure he'd say he's moved on from that sound, but personally, I miss it. That being said, Harry Gregson-Williams did good work here. Even if he then copied and pasted whole sections for Narnia. lol.Music editors loved their Gladiator temp too muchWhat was the reason of their swap? Why did Hans Zimmer quit Kigdom of HeavenHybrid wrote somewhere here that something happened between Streitenfeld and Ridley during Prometheus,and that was why HG-W was brought on for some rescoringI was wondering about this too. Like all of a sudden, after a couple of Ridley Scott collaborations, he disappeared.

And what about credits by Anthony Willis? Can it be possible that he did Vanellope's March (becase he worked on Han Solo) and helped with A Big Strong Man In Need Of Rescuing?

This is me or Henry Jackman removed the electronics this year it could be affect to the predator score because I was thinking about the predator score affect him to remove electronics and turned serious & dramatic. That's weird when Henry Jackman used a lot electronics & fun since 2009 to 2017 with his scores.

Hybrid Soldier2018-11-16 20:41:41
Henry has been removing electronics for 4 years now...

Mike2018-11-16 21:29:51
So I guess I'm the only one who likes less-electronic-Henry?

Iamtommie2018-11-16 23:19:02
No you're not. I think Jackman has made some great score over the last through years.
And I think this is one of them. Both tracks with or without electronics

Medigo2018-11-18 19:54:36
Are you sure Jackmans been removing the electronics from his music, or just from his albums?

Civil War was noticeably different, if you compare the OST to what you heard in the movie.

Hybrid Soldier2018-11-18 22:58:23
From albums yes, not from the scores... lol

Anonymous2018-11-19 06:56:09
I don't understand the composer's reasoning. If a piece of music is written with a palette of sounds in mind, it will only work as intended when those stems are all present. One can't aim to do a painting of a pasture and then leave all the green color out because some Gothic Art critic doesn't like the color.

Hybrid Soldier2018-11-19 12:33:28
Exactly...

...2018-11-19 17:31:23
Which scores has he done this with?

Sideshow Bob2018-11-20 03:13:23
civil war is one of quite a few

Meta2018-11-20 04:05:44
Well...Maybe Jackman is bucking for something grander than the standard RCP mold.

jjstarA1132018-11-21 23:24:56
Just got back from this (very fun and sweet) film, and I can confirm that the electronics were not removed on the album; the last third of the album really is meant to be entirely orchestral (except for "Comfort Zone"). A ballsy move on Jackman's part, but man, I really thought it payed off emotionally!

Have you heard that Henry Jackman will composing his music for the upcoming 2019 picture called Pokemon: Detective Pikachu? I wonder what the film soundtrack would sound like. Hmm...

tilibro2018-11-20 04:16:08
Maybe adapt the game's soundtrack to the score. I remember hearing the "main theme" jingle at one point in the trailer.

Der Profl2018-11-21 22:47:19
It would be a shame, if he won't use some characteristic Pokémon Themes. But maybe it's just my fan opinion. :)

JBSO99 reply Replies: 0 || 2018-11-18 11:24:47
I listened to the score and is one of the most entertaining scores of this year. It's great to see the main theme return but there are a lot of new elements to enjoy and discover here. There were parts that kind of reminded me of Incredibles 2, like the begining of Shank. And tracks like Vanellope's March or Big Strong Man In Need of Rescue are just pure fun.

Really great score!

Does Henry actually work for HZ at RCP or does he have his own film score company now like HGW?

Hybrid Soldier2018-11-17 22:35:59
He has a studio at RCP but mostly work from his own home studio. His business is "Sacred Tiger Music."

Anonymous2018-11-18 06:27:46
About his studio at RCP, is it rental or he owns the stuff? What happens to the gear when he is not around?

jjstarA113 reply Replies: 6 || 2018-11-17 02:45:47
Copied from Filmtracks:

Excellent score - a little slow in the middle third*, but some really stirring fantasy-adventure elsewhere. "The Internet" is Cue of the Year material. Although it's odd how little synth there is here, particularly in the finale, where the orchestra seems to completely take over; this isn't too bad of a thing because Jackman's orchestral skills are downright breathtaking at times. The references to other Disney scores/musicals (yes, including Star Wars) left a big dumb grin on my face.

*I get the sense that this movie might be too long (1 hour and 52 minutes).

Meta2018-11-17 03:54:26
WOW....color me impressed at Filmtracks. I thought that site was anti-Zimmer in all aspects far, wide, near and dear.

jjstarA1132018-11-17 04:57:34
Sorry, I should've been more specific. This is a comment I had originally posted on the Filmtracks forum, NOT from a Christian Clemmensen review. My bad.

Meta2018-11-17 12:18:56
Aw Hell...

I guess it never did freeze over.

Anonymous2018-11-17 18:12:20
Why filmtracks always behave very Aggressive about hans zimmer and always trys to make his scores worthless ??!! Its odd for me

Nick2018-11-18 05:25:58
@Anonymous

Christian Clemmensen believes that Hans Zimmer found his definitive voice back in the 1990s with scores such as Driving Miss Daisy, Rain Man, Crimson Tide, and Lion King. However, he has in reviews of later scores compared Zimmer's overly obvious chord progressions and masculinity with what the "rock ballad" did to rock-n'roll music of the '70s. To him, it's overly powerful, unsubtle, and aggressive music that appeals to the gut more than the heart or the mind. Some of Zimmer's most popular scores such as Gladiator, Pirates, and The Dark Knight he has given middling reviews for because the general sound is derivative from his earlier works, not colorful, and not creative. He also accuses Zimmer of starting a trend with overly-recycled, bombastic, masculine action music that's big on density and power and low on subtlety and personality.

I can definitely see where he's coming from, one cannot deny the similarities between Crimson Tide, Lion King, Gladiator, Pirates, Dark Knight and so forth. One also cannot deny that scores such as Dunkirk and Blade Runner 2049 qualify more as sound design than actual symphonic music (mostly). However, if he had his way, every film score would be shamelessly optimistic and flighty, all major chords (and occasionally alternating off-key), with prominent woodwinds and metallic percussion. He definitely knows what he's talking about, but he has an ideal image for film music in mind, and that very much comes through in his Zimmer reviews, some of which I think deserve much more credit than he offered (Pirates 3, Da Vinci Code, and Gladiator come to mind).

HunterTech2018-11-18 06:06:23
That is probably the fairest thing anyone on this website will say about Clemmensen. :P

HunterTech reply Replies: 1 || 2018-11-17 04:04:41
That's not the actual review. The length is a pretty big giveaway. Also, I'm fairly certain he's still given some RCP efforts some good scores.

I wonder with all of the Easter eggs if Jackman will incorporate some character themes like possibly the Imperial March for Storm Troopers Or Disney themed for the Disney characters

Frank2018-11-16 10:36:54
Imperial March and Luke's theme are in it!

Iamtommie2018-11-16 16:59:30
Listen to

A Big Strong Man In Need Of Rescuing.

That whole track is a damn easter egg

Anonymous reply Replies: 1 || 2018-11-16 12:51:28
Hard to believe this is a follow up to Wreck-It Ralph. Did he remove the electronics from this one too? Sounds too serious and at times dark and dramatic for a kid's movie score. Whatever happened to the fun?

Meta2018-11-16 13:51:40
The Henry Jackman I know died out after Civil War and Kingsman 2. After that you can hear faint fizzles of his electronic greatness, but nothing more.

But hey maybe he just doesn't wanna do that crap anymore...so..eh.
