Several clips of the film are on YT. With some music. Sounds like 90's score from HZ. Too bad the directing seems to come from an age movies didn't exist...No. It’s a boys choir. S&K bros is a girl’s choirSeems like Scala & Kolacny Brothers. In what way is it "obvious", exactly, that Djawadi had more influence on that Training cue than Zimmer? It's basically just a statement of Zimmer's theme, and doesn't really sound notably "Djawadi-esque" to me in any way. Thanks for the credits update
A bit of who did what...Lorne also confirmed that he took charge of Mr.Charles, and without saying that Lorne was on the good side of Score in general, so his influence was substantially high.Hybrid confirmed that training is composed by Ramin and Hans and it is obvious that Ramin's influence is superior to that of Hans.are we expecting the score for dark phoenix to be released in a week or so, if the movie itself drops early june? Not as simply as that.... Training is Ramin's arrangement of a Hans theme, and the core of Mr. Charles when the Fischer theme isn't playing is a Hans idea, too, as far as I know. Take the Zimmer out and those moments wouldn't be the same.
I think Balfe working with Nolan would have done a great jobBob,The Training is basically Ramin Djawadi and Mr.Charles is BalfeI hope these two team up again. Zimmer's score is the main driving force for some memorable scenes. Just a few
Batman Begins-The Training
TDK- Joker crash the party, Gordon's speech and ending
Inception - Time, Mr.Charles,
TKDR - the climb, imagine the fire and orphan
Interstellar-Stay, Docking, coward, mountain
Dunkirk - well the entire movieJustin Hurwitz I can see. I enjoyed La La Land and First Man. But Both Hurwitz and Göransson are several notches above Lorne Balfe.

I think 80/100 directors would rather work with Göransson than Balfe.I really believe that Nolan has made a mistake as a composer.I think Lorne Balfe, David Julyan or Justin Hurwitz would be much better options than Ludwig Goransson.
Interesting news.

Geoff Zanelli is one of those composers who I’ve loved his additional music over his solo efforts, Pirates 5 excluded. I hope he gets a chance to write some great fantasy music for this, regardless if he reuses JNH’s themes or not.I think I am the only one, who would be glad about David Julyan return.

I really like his music for early Nolan's films, especially Insomnia, and it's what i can call an "atmospheric experience".

Don't know how his music fits for espionage timetraveling movie, but, for me, i'st would be something interesting to hear.@mpolonest123: those Pemberton scores are indeed pure gold, very cool on album but insanely good in the movie. My favorite is still his King Arthur, that was a beast of a score that stuck with the movie like glue and really enhanced Guy Ritchie's dark, twisted, trippy vision.*3 thingsSure, but there's two things to consider.
1). Pirates has such an iconic sound that it'd be really stupid for them to suddenly abandon it at #5. Especially when we hired the guy who has worked on the previous 4. 2). Maleficent, as successful as it was to warrant a sequel, isn't quite as well known in the score department, despite being well received by those who have heard it. 3). Because Zanelli worked on all Pirates, he had enough familiarity with the sounds and motifs that he knew where to go once he led the ship. In Maleficent's case, he's taking over from a previous composer, and is working with a director who likely only knows his work on POTC5. As such, there's no knowing yet if he might be compelled to continue on from JNH, or if it's decided he just does his own thing.

I'm happy that Geoff at the very least has a safe career at Disney, considering two of their recent live action successes has had him involved. However, considering I hear his recently work hasn't been his best, JNH likely would've benefited from returning to a world that had some of his best material after he wasn't given the opportunity to do so with Glass. As such, it really is a severely missed opportunity, even if newer blood is getting more opportunities.

A masterpiece!!!!Much better from Live in Prague. Sherlock Holmes fantasy and Mission Impossible 2 is truly Fantastic!!! There is any chance for Blue-ray???

That mission impossible 2 suite part 1 is so amazing

Mephariel2019-03-15 15:51:06
Yes it is. I am very surprised that I like Gladiator the least. I think there is something a bit off about that program, especially how loud the background music is during Lisa Gerrard's performance. But man...Pirates, The Lion King, Inception, Spirit, The Holiday, MI2 are orgasmic good.

Really hope he does a World of Hans Zimmer 2 with music from The Last Samurai, Beyond Rangoon, The Prince of Egypt, etc.

This CD is so much better than HZ Live in Prague.

Mephariel2019-03-15 17:43:38
No kidding. Hans Zimmer Live was made for the fans.

This was made for music lovers.

Mike2019-03-15 20:29:47
The presentation as a whole here is way better than I expected, and IMO, puts Hans Zimmer Live to shame. I think this does more justice to the music.

Ds2019-03-16 17:19:21
TWOHZ doesn't put anything to shame. If it exists, it's basically because 'Hans Zimmer Live' came before, and it got massively successful, so they created this alternate program. Now we're maybe feeling this whole program is better, but isn't it perhaps because by now we're so used to the HZL program? I've known it since 2014, I've seen it 3 times live, a couple of times on blu-ray and Netflix, and listened to the album many, many times. So of course now TWOHZ has a "fresher" feeling. I think if TWOHZ came before, first of all it probably wouldn't have been that successful... and people would be complaining about the lack of Driving Miss Daisy, True Romance, Man Of Steel, The Thin Red Line, Interstellar...

There isn't room for everything in one concert, so it's great to have 2 different programs without too much overlap. That's it :)

...2019-03-16 17:33:19
The program has nothing to do with it... This is much closer to the music that Zimmer actually wrote for the movies. HZ live is some rock show that doesn't have much to do with the original scores and I just think this is way better! I am a big zimmer fan, but I didn't go to HZ live because I just couldn't stand the arrangements and performances of that tour.

mpolonest123 2019-03-16 19:45:30
I really don’t get the comparisons, they are both two completely different things. I love HZ Live simply because it’s a cool, rock spin on Zimmer’s music. This, on the other hand, is a more traditional approach that sounds amazing and closer to the music as heard in film. For me personally neither are better or worse, I actually think they both work extremely well.

My only complaint: still no live performance of “Too Many Notes, Not Enough Rests” ;)

Mephariel2019-03-16 19:47:48
To be fair, Hans Zimmer Live has its charms. Some of the soloist performances are truly spectacular, like Guo's Pirate sequence. Also, HZL presented Zimmer's music in ways we haven't seen or heard before. It is also a celebration of electronic music, something TWOHZ isn't. So DS is right that both programs compliment each other.

rockhound2019-03-17 07:53:58
in my opionion, alot of tracks in Hans Zimmer Live In Prague are just weak arrangements. some of them turn actually just into noise. Crimson Tide/160BPM; The Thin Red Line; Inception and Interstellar. also the soloists were often just a waste. they were playing, the camera was on them, but you couldnt hear them. but i have to say, Gladiator with Czarina Russell was amazing, much better than with Lisa Gerrard. in the end, i also prefer TWOHZ, because it represents his music much better. also the program is more varied.

Ds2019-03-17 17:44:44
I'm not sure, did you call the Thin Red Line live arrangement "noise"?? That's probably my favourite thing from this whole concert, such a massive improvement on the original version, it's incredibly immersive and it reaches levels of power and intensity words couldn't describe.

As Mephariel says, TWOHZ is a straightforward rendition of pieces we know, with little modification, while HZL is a reworking of the music as Hans himself thinks is best. Both have their charm and their use.

And after all that's why we like Hans in the first place: he doesn't do anything like anyone. He proved it with his music throughout his career, and he proved it again with his shows :-)

Mike2019-03-18 16:50:44
The stuff that didn't really do it in HZ Live for me were the "rockified" versions of No time For Caution and the Moody Bruce TDKR suite. Making those pieces sound like they did weakened their power, IMO. They were too guitar-and-drums heavy and I just preferred the originals. Otherwise, HZ Live was pretty good. There was some hyperbole in my comment about putting it to shame. But overall I definitely would rather have The World of Hans Zimmer approach.

The Gladiator stuff got misnamed on this release, lol... Part 1 is The Wheat + Am I Not Merciful, and Part 2 is a short version of The Battle.

Yeah totally.

I am not sure where they got "Elysium" from. Part 2 is The Battle + The Might of Rome.

Yes, it is available!

Interesting news. Hans Zimmer is scoring a Cirque du Soleil show:

The acclaimed Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer is performing three original pieces in the show. Zimmer has won an Oscar for Best Original Score for “The Lion King,” and also created the music for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, “Interstellar,” “Gladiator,” “Inception,” “Dunkirk,” and “The Dark Knight Trilogy.”

André Kasten and Leah Moyer, the show’s co-writers and directors, have been using Zimmer’s compositions as inspiration in developing music for their own scenes. Thus, they were thrilled to have him in the pool.

“‘Now We Are Free’ from ‘Gladiator’ is one of my all-time favorite songs,” Kasten said during a break in Monday’s rehearsal. “This whole show is original music, and it’s a dream to have him be a part of it.”

Moyer added, “He creates worlds with his music so it’s such a perfect blend, with what we like to do visually with his music.”

Hybrid,
Do you know if the missing pieces from the Hollywood in vienna show are included in the official CD release??

Kalman2019-02-13 16:09:02
I don't know what was missing in Vienna (unfortunately I didn't manage to get a ticket :( ), but according to amazon.de the tracklist is the same as that of the usual show (I suppose the last four nameless tracks of Disc 1 are from The da Vinci Code):

Paul2019-02-13 17:15:10
As far as i know, its missing pearl harbor, and king Arthur

...2019-02-13 17:15:26
Everything seems to be there (including best friends which wasn’t performed in Vienna). The only thing missing seems to be the Sherlock Holmes suite (which was performed in Vienna but not in any other WOHZ concert.

It’s great that they choose the Vienna performance for the Cd because the orchestra performing in Vienna is much better than the one that plays the regular WOHZ concerts!

...2019-02-13 17:38:04
@Paul The Vienna concert only missed Best Friends. King Arthur, Pearl Harbor and the full Gladiator suite were just missing from the Austrian TV broadcast.

The Vienna concert also had a Sherlock Holmes performance which seems to be missing from this CD.

Mephariel2019-02-13 20:17:56
I think the CD will contain music from The World of Hans Zimmer not Hollywood in Vienna, even though they are almost the same show. There are some clear differences though.

And Hollywood in Vienna contains Pearl Harbor and King Arthur, it is just that they didn't broadcast those programs due to time constraint.

So, if I remember well, this should be released this Friday, but I don’t see any news or announcement about that. Is it normal or should we expect a delay regardless the release date ?

Well, just as long as der Balfmeister has no say in this. Not that it's going to be bad, but that it will just sound average, this is the Balfe method. Nothing to challenge nothing to gain. Total vapid everyone-is-okay nonsense, that is our Balfe, no creativity.

For those who were asking, Sony will release a 2 CD set for this show...

Knight2018-10-15 10:50:02
Well color me excited! Hope they make a film out of one of the shows like they did with the Prague one.

Evenstar2018-10-15 12:36:22
Awesome!!

Mephariel2018-10-15 16:52:32
Great News. I thought we will have to wait until end of 2019 at the earliest.

Evenstar2018-10-17 20:12:41
Especially can't wait for the Mission Impossible 2 mix.

snsguy2018-12-10 18:41:08
Will there be a Blu-ray release for this as well. I had heard that the Hollywood in Vienna award show that is essentially the same set would get a Blu-ray release.

Quinn2019-01-02 22:38:46
I certainly hope they will make a movie out of this fantastic show. The artists participating in this show are absolute talents too. Pedro Eustache, Amir John Haddad, name them! I really don't want to miss this show. There's many with us who don't have the luck or money to go to the show so I hope they will bring this out on DVD. The Hollywood in Vienna show in 2018 was wonderful as well with the same bunch of artists!

Quinn2019-01-02 22:39:32
Great! A dvd as well?
