It was composed after the film was completed using thematic material from the film for Shirley Bassey to perform on her, David Arnold produced album, 'The Performance'
Those files are just sitting there.<br><br>Undownloadable.<br><br>Taunting me.@Ds<br>Siding with the guy that lied through his teeth to feign objectivity seems like a bad call.<br><br>In any case, modern Bay and Snyder don't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Fury Road.<br><br>I already discussed 300 and Pacific Rim.  Clearly deep scripts aren't what I'm aiming for here when I talk about good blockbusters.<br><br>What DOES matter is scripts with razor focus, sharp pacing, witty and/or charming humor (if it wants humor, that is), and characters likable enough to carry us through the narrative.<br><br>300's a great example of this, though unfortunately a lot of Snyder's other work isn't, and Bay is close behind.  Their films get bogged with way too much obnoxious bullshit to make the odd sequence worth it.<br><br>The Scorponok sequence from TF1, the warehouse fight from BvS, that's real standout stuff.  Stuff that loses a lot of its luster when surrounded by two-and-a-half, or god forbid THREE, hours of self-serious pretense, lazy humor, and/or annoying characters.<br><br>And again, the likes of Pacific Rim, or 300, or the first Pirates of the Caribbean, or the first Kingsmen, or John Wick, or most Guy Ritchie films, or the better fourth of superhero films, illustrate that Bay and Snyder have no excuse.<br><br>They just aren't very good filmmakers on the whole, and need to learn to consolidate their efforts into something that brings out their best and subdues their worst.  Snyder in particular has SERIOUSLY misjudged where his talent is lately.Well, Steve, about the score, says he still working on it.<br><br>I can't wait.A snippet of the verse (at 0:49) also shows up occasionally in the score, in Somebody Wants to Kill You, the end of Greene and Camille, and Field Trip.Ist there any chance for concert in Poland during this tour?
How do I listen to this ?Hybrid, what about any credits for this score?Looking to travel to Berlin for the kickoff. Reckon the concert is in german instead in english?100% agree.<br><br>“You Know My Name”, “Skyfall”, “Goldfinger”, etc. all stand out because they embrace the grander aspects of 007. Having a calm and reflective Bond song can be just as effective though. I feel like “No Time to Die” is basically trying to do what “Writing on the Wall” tried but succeeding much better.I really like the song. It has, I think, a Bangkok Dangerous vibe at first, before the first lyrics. <br>I read some comments on youtube stating its a bad Bond song because its too calm. I disagree. Sure, its less punchy than You Know My Name, but some previous Bond songs, like Tomorrow Never Dies, had the same "mood". <br>This song, No Time to Die, would also have been a prefect choice for the movie Quantum of Solace, which had this melancholic tone. i espacially picture this music during the train bar scene in Quantum of solace, when Bond is drinking thinking about Vesper and the past.
Man, i wan that score"Time to Get Out", “Pursuit At...”, “No Interest In...” and “I Never Left” all incorporate the piano motif from “Another Way to Die”. Having heard the whole album a few times and gone through the process of what Wallfisch tried to do with his music for Shazam, this is not only the best DC album in years, it's also powerful enough to sit alongside (or at least close to) Williams's Superman. This is by and large (unless Hans comes back with a game changer for Dark Phoenix), the winning superhero film score of 2019.

It’s excellent in every respect. The orchestrations, mixing, and writing are all fantastic. The album does run a bit long (not a bad thing of course) and there are a lot of action cues piled on top of each other, but with some editing you have 50 minutes of Five-Star material.

While the score itself is great, I think Ben needs to use somebody like Alan Meyerson to mix his scores. I noticed that on almost every single one of his scores since A Cure for Wellness his mixing/recordings have been a bit shit. The mix problem is EXTREMELY prominent in Serenity, The Darkest Minds, Hellboy, Hostile Planet and to a lesser extent, Shazam and Wellness.
His scores are starting to sound too dry and "synthy" for lack of a better word. Listen to the orchestral recordings in Hostile Planet and Serenity, can anyone honestly tell me that they sound good?
I would love nothing better than to get another score from him on the level of Summer in February, Mully or Gamba cause those sound great.

Gotta say I somewhat disagree with the lavish praise here. The main theme is fantastic; the melody itself isn't that memorable, but the quality of the orchestral writing surrounding it is high. Indeed, the orchestrations and textures are of a very high standard throughout. However, far from there being 50 minutes of 5* material, I find that outside the suite presentation, the rest of the score feels messy. It's one of those scores that reacts to what's happening onscreen rather than actively driving it, so there are a ton of changes of direction. I feel like you can sort of tell that the director comes from a horror background because there's a lot of that stop-start quality you get from horror scores in the action music here, and I'm not a fan of that philosophy. I much prefer action music to have a more constant pulse while still developing in a dynamic way to match the scene (my perfect example of that balance being the wedding cue from At World's End).

The staff here don't seem to care too much as of late about adding new stuff from RCP composers that aren't the big names. Jasha and Atli are still missing their latest efforts, and the new release of one of Mancina's old scores ain't here.

That main theme is incredible!

It’s basically a mix of John Williams and Wallfisch, and if the rest of the score is the same quality we might have one of the best scores this year.

I agree. Great stuff. It's nice to hear some fun superhero bombast every once in a while. If the rest of the score is like the cues we've heard, I'll definitely be getting this one.

Does anyone else feel like 2:15-3:00 sounds exactly like Wallfisch’s “flying” music for “Peter Pan”?

Little side note: the minute I heard the song I immediately thought of the main tune from “Islands of Adventure” (Call To Adventure). Great theme if you haven’t had a chance to check it out...

I can't wait for this. After the debacle of JL, The DCEU has got back on track musically with Aquaman serving harmonic and electronic interpolation in spades, and Shazam seems to capitalize on that with a more traditional sound.
