I found a version of this soundtrack online that contained several alternate versions of "No Time For Caution", as well as two additional suites, supposedly titled "Endurance Suite 1" and "Endurance Suite 2". I've listened to both and they both seem legit, but are they a part of this complete score?truly amazing score! zanelli shows here that he mastered the DNA of the pirates music. would love to see him talk about this series, what makes its music so unique & recognizable, etc.

i think what's happening is that there are far too many characters, each with their own themes, to focus & develop any one in particular. salazar is the exception, in both the movie and the music. his intriguing character is the reason i watched the movie. and his theme kept coming into my head months after the movie.

but yea there are too many stories being unpacked onto the viewer in just a few hours in the latest pirates. but zanelli did a great job all the same.Balfe is the best composer since Powell from the Zimmer training
After hearing what Lorne Balfe did for Mission Impossible it would be great to hear what he would do with the James Bond theme.
Ok.But still it would be awesome if Djawadi is composing The Eternals
Well, unless you have a source, or can point to a credible publication reporting Romer is not scoring it, I think it is safe to assume (for now) that the composer announced and still listed on the official website as the composer for the film is in-fact the composer for the film..

He wouldn't be my personal choice for the job, but I am not going to ignorantly pretend that he isn't currently the hired composer.I was at the concert yesterday in Denmark, words can't describe what i felt, it's something that has to be experienced in person, truly amazing.

Music is one thing, but the lights and video along the show was awsome, that can't be described, you have to be there.

I hope for a bluray version of a concert, I will gladly be the first to buy it.Jackman has always been my favorite of his "generation" of RC composers (in which I also include Balfe, Djawadi, Örvarsson, Margeson and Streitenfeld - the ones who broke out about a decade ago). I think he's the best orchestral writer other than Powell and I always appreciate the clean, organic sound of his scores - like with Powell's scores, Jackman's orchestra always sounds real and clearly distinct from the electronics, unlike Balfe and Zimmer himself who use samples a lot more and blur things in the middle. That's true even of scores of his I don't like, such as Winter Soldier.

I do wish he'd stop stripping the electronics off of tracks for his album releases though. That seems like a strange way to address the criticisms he got for Winter Soldier - kind of missing the point.Any plans for a concert in Denmark (Boxen, Herning) ?I like this score!!!

Henry is very good in my opinion. I always liked his scores even when others didn't.

And I'm really excited for Jumanji: The Next Level!!!
Neither Romer or Balfe are scoring Bond 25I want to say that test screening version of Ghost in the Shell deleted one geisha character who was under orders of Cutter to follow the Major and in the original third act, she fought Aramaki when he stormed into Cutter's Holo room after killing his guards. Aramaki survives and the scene continues as shown. Because of the poor reception of what I call "The Philosophical Cut", the geisha character was removed and there were quick reshoots of all of the conversations between Cutter and Aramaki minus the geisha character involvement. The report about Romer leaving wasn't even confirmed, so I think it's just people wanting the expected to happen at this point.lol no he’s notLast week, the IMDb page said Joseph Trapanese is scoring it and next week some other composer will probably be listed there. Amazing that some people still think of IMDb as a reliable source for this kind of info.
More Cannons!, 2:14 - Jack Sparrow theme from PotC?Ramin Djawadi will compose The EternalsWell, "No Time To Die" (Bond 25) is being scored by Dan Romer. So, No; he is not scoring it.This is Balfe’s best music yet for sure and shows a side to his musical skills we don’t get to hear much I think.
It’s been interesting reading posts about Balfe doing Bond.Has he confirmed yet if he is ?Why would I ever do that ?

Tracklist is the real one... -_-

So Balfe is now doing the new Brad Pitt movie Ad Astra?when does he sleep?

Interesting news because I thought they had Max Richter on it for ages ?

ThePhantasm2019-08-29 03:27:43
I love Balfe a lot but wtf this is too much. I was interested in listen to what Max would of done.

mpolonest123 2019-08-29 04:27:13
Yeah this is getting a bit crazy (no hate on Balfe though, man’s making a living).

I think because of his ability to write as fast as he does, more producers tend to trust him with these projects and meeting the deadlines. Also having Lorne on a score usually means a pretty safe bet on the style of music.

I haven’t been keeping up with all of his output as of late (because honestly, who can?) but it seems like you either get “Good Lorne” (MI6, Lego Batman, Geostorm) or “Bad Lorne” (PR:U, Hurricane Heist). Honestly, I would much rather have him focus his attention on some bigger projects where he can write quality music, as opposed to spreading himself thin.

ThePhantasm2019-08-29 18:46:29
Yeah Hurricane heist was horrible, I'd be so excited to hear what he'd do with a super hero movie. It has taken forever

LOL, Lorne is co-composing "Ad Astra" with Max Richter, that guy is everywhere

Miralsice2019-08-23 21:11:35
Seriously? Why they make this decision? They want to sound like Interstellar or what?

johny5552019-08-23 22:22:29
I have no idea why, filmmusicreporter wrote about it...

Ahmad2019-08-24 02:41:53
GITS 2.0? I hope not.

Anonymous2019-08-24 20:55:52
Lorne has nothing to do with interstellar

Soooo... Balfe is scoring the new HBO Series 'His Dark Materials'.

I'm glad that Lorne gets so much work, but I really wanted somebody else for this series.

Lorne is doing so much, that I'm afraid some things will turn out generic. Hope this doesn't happen. But we'll see (hear).

No very excited at the moment, but maybe this will change when I hear it.

Edmund Meinerts2019-08-15 10:32:18
Yeah it's an underwhelming choice for me. Balfe feels like the guy you get when you want "good enough", or when you need a score turned over in a really short time. Doesn't speak to much ambition on the showrunners' part when it comes to the music in this series. I'm sure it won't be bad, but I doubt it will be amazing.

Mikeal 2019-08-16 22:22:10
Typical Edmund response!!
Balfe doesn’t always write the most amazing scores but when he does it’s the best.if Balfe was only “good enough” why do the world top directors want to work with him ????????
Also film music doesn’t have to sound like it’s from the 1960’s all the time.Balfe seems to choose projects that don’t always require big melodies all the time.

Knight2019-08-16 22:49:56
Nice strawmanning there Mikeal

Steve2019-08-17 06:37:11
Edmund maybe listen and watch the show first before being negative about it?

Edmund Meinerts2019-08-17 09:23:53
Been a while since one of Balfe's paid (or unpaid?) shills had a go at me. I'm almost nostalgic. :p

Micheal2019-08-17 10:00:27
Poor Edmund thinks disagreeing is having a go !thought this page was about crawl and the music by Aruj and Steffen????they did a great job and the film was fun.

superultramegaa2019-08-17 18:41:18
Poor Micheal thinks Mikeal's response is simple disagreement when it contains sentences like;

"Also film music doesn’t have to sound like it’s from the 1960’s all the time." Implying that's the only music Edmund likes.

Also, poor Micheal thinks pages can't have any other discussion other than the movies on them! (Plus, considering the fact that Balfe does do projects in a short time span all the time, it's not exactly negative to point out that producers hire him for that task too much.)

Mephariel2019-08-17 19:48:06
This is seems like HBO wanting to get Djawadi and couldn't get him so they get the guy next door.

Honestly, they should have gone for Wallfisch or Harry Gregson-Williams (probably too busy with Mulan).

The movie is awesome, the score is great. Excellent work from Max and Stteffen

Recently in China, a movie was released called Looking Up, and the soundtrack was released with Steffen Thum's score and main theme/additional music by Lorne Balfe.

It appears that this movie is pretty good.
It has a 88% on RT and I personally liked it a lot!
