Oh man, I'd to love to get my hands on this version. I've searched everywhere over the years, but I guess it's just impossible...
One of my favorite scores ever! This is a highly underrated album. It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. The complexity rivals some of the great works of the past.

It's strange to me that this is called "choral works". Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves. My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything)

1. A Storm Is Coming (0:00 - 0:36) (Logos)
2. Should You Choose To Accept (0:00 - 0:52)
3. Good Evening, Mr. Hunt (4:19)
4. Plutonium Trade (2:53)
5. A Terrible Choice (2:55)
6. The Manifesto (1:44)
7. Fallout (1:30)
8. Your Mission (2:14)
9. Free Fall (4:14)
10. As Ugly As They Come (2:26)
11. The White Widow (4:42)
12. Should You Choose To Accept (0:52 - 2:34)
13. Framing Ethan (2:01)
14. The Exchange (5:55)
15. Escape Through Paris (5:05)
16. Steps Ahead (1:02)
17. Je Suis De Sole (1:06)
18. We Are Never Free (6:57)
19. Trapped (3:26)
20. The Mission Is Terminated (2:09)
21. No Hard Feelings (4:20)
22. Stairs And Rooftops (6:00)
23. Kashmir (4:29)
24. Fate Whispers To The Warrior (3:54)
25. And The Warrior Whispers Back (3:56)
26. Scalpel And Hammer (0:00 - 2:19)
27. Cutting On One (0:00 - 2:23)
28. Unfinished Business (1:49)
29. A Storm Is Coming (0:36 - 1:12)
30. I Am The Storm (2:07)
31. Scalpel And Hammer (2:19 - 5:10)
32. Cutting On One (2:23 - 3:42)
33. The Last Resort (2:55)
34. Mission: Accomplished (1:15)
BONUS TRACKS:
35. The Syndicate (Unused) (6:00)
36. Change Of Plan (Unused) (5:47)Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same time
ht tp:// filmmusicreporter. com/2020/04/01/ track-list-for-disneys-live-action-mulan -soundtrack-album-revealed/

Why release a tracklist for an album that won't be released for another 6 months at least. That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinionSo it won't be a last minute and hasty job?No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.
Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.I think Lorne teased this some time ago by sending a picture of researching Russian music on insta (maybe)Hello,

I'm looking for the translation of the song God Yu Tekkem Laef Blong Mi in English of French.

Could anyone help me ?

Thank you !you can't, it's only an info for the complete scoreAccording To Filmmusicreporter.com, it Is true Lorne Balfe Is Scoring Black Widow.

Wow this guy Is the Best, this is the first time balfe scoring an MCU since Iron Man(worked as an additional music). I can't believe that Alexandre Desplat, who is a good composer left the film just like I remember Rogue One. Well, Now i Hope that Lorne Balfe makes a great score just like he does always.
Comes out on April 3rd. Keep hearing that the music is very Lion King style. How can i download it?Replaced ?

On the first he just sort of left. Wouldn't be surprised to be the case here again.Someone at Disney really wants Desplat gone. This is the second time he has been replaced on a major assignment.Crazier? I can't think of many things *less* crazy than a Lorne Balfe replacement score

Would totally buy this album for the Sia collaboration track "Out there" but it doesn't appear to be on there!

Abby2020-03-04 21:15:53
I would too. If not, is Sai's collaboration song "Out There" available for purchase separate from this soundtrack?

Marc2020-03-09 10:51:44
I can't believe it's not on here! Out There is utterly epic.

Is nobody going to talk about this amazing soundtrack???

Mephariel2019-10-23 03:04:15
Can't wait to hear this. I am huge fan of Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II.

Ro2019-10-23 08:24:07
That amazing tune that featured Sia from the 4-minute trailer doesn't seem to be a part of this album, is it? Will that ever be made available?

J2019-10-23 11:02:01
How have you guys heard the album already? :0

Anonymous2019-10-23 11:45:59
J

It is on iTunes already.

Mephariel2019-10-23 16:53:10
For some reason they never release the songs that Zimmer collaborated with the singers to make. They didn't release Radiohead's song feat Zimmer either.

But yeah, that theme was incredible.

Did Jacob Shea have to do everything himself on this one? What happened to Jasha Klebe and David Fleming who was working with him on Planet Earth and Blue Planet?

Hybrid Soldier2019-10-23 10:42:50
Jasha is not at Bleeding Fingers anymore, and Dave is busy working with Hans... :)
