Yeah 100% fake... And there was HJ rumor on Black Widow sometimes last year, so if you do the math...Henry doesn't have an official Instagram. It looks like you are referring to the account "henry0262020" which appears to be a fake account, to the best of my knowledge.Henry Jackman is now Black Widow's composer, apparently in his instagram, posted a photoHah! Knew it. FYI, I'm not smoking anything. I don't smoke, and I abhor anyone who does.Oh interesting. When I said "refined his sound," I didn't mean that he was still trying to find his voice. This score absolutely exudes the qualities that make his work so appealing. You simply managed to put what I was trying to say in better terms. I'm definitely happy to give this one more goes in the future, but I remain more partial to some of the other installments.
This is easily my favorite X-Men score, but I do agree there is a bit of an...*odd* feel to it sometimes. The impression I get is that Powell was reeeaallly pushing himself to write the most dense and complex and ambitious score he could, and I think he may have overreached a tad. There's definitely a big contrast between this score and the much tighter, more focused sound he was bringing in his action music from a couple years prior, like Paycheck or The Bourne Supremacy. I wouldn't say he "hadn't quite refined his sound yet" - this isn't Face/Off, his voice was pretty well established by this point - but he was trying to develop it a bit faster than it was naturally going to go.<br><br>At the same time, I love how this score goes for broke, and I hate to fault a composer for too much ambition. "Phoned in" is the LAST thing this score is. But Powell would iron out the kinks and by How to Train Your Dragon he was writing a score that was just as complex, but wore the complexity a bit more naturally than X3."There is nothing musically interesting in [Ottman's] X-Men scores except the main titles."<br><br>As if I didn't need a reminder that this place can house some ludicrous opinions sometimes (no offense intended there).<br><br>The Last Stand barely cracks the top 5 of X-Men scores for me, if only because I love the themes and it carries a lot of nostalgia for me. It's pretty clear imo that this score was at a point when Powell hadn't quite refined his sound yet. I wouldn't call it phoned in whatsoever, but it's easy to get lost at points when I'm listening to the full thing. But the highlights are too great for me to call it middling either, so it barely gets a solid grade in my book. <br><br>I'm likely in the minority when I say I actually prefer Dark Phoenix. It's much more solid as a whole product.I like the tracksWow!!!Still my favorite score from the X-Men series.
Not too stoked on Powell, but the way Ottman's able to squander a good theme makes him close to the bottom of the barrel in my book. Warner Bros posted a trailer of WW84. But took it down very quickly. At the end of the trailer it says that it's being released in cinemas & HBO Max (no extra cost) at the same time on Dec. 25.

At this point I'm starting to prepare myself for the very real possibility that we aren't getting a new Hans score this year. Tenet's not doing great at the box office and wasn't the "savior of cinema" like everyone claimed it was going to be, and no one else is willing to take a loss on their $200-250m movie.

I'm feeling like it'll be next summer before movies start truly returning to theaters and people feel like it's safe to go.

NTTD is holding its date so far but I'd bet money that it's going to get shifted into either a February or late April release of next year in Oct. Feb would give it a good window before Fast 9 drops in April, and releasing at the end of April would give it a few weeks space from F9's release.

It's possible that we'll get either Dune or WW in December, but I doubt it'll be both. I think they'll likely drop WW because it has a built in fan base that'll support it and that will come back for a third film provided WW84 is good, which it likely will be. Dune needs to do well on it's first outing so WB can gage franchise potential, and if that second movie is going to get made and I can see them delaying it to May 2021 at the earliest.

So at best we'll get 2 Hans scores and at worst likely 1 or none. Ultimately it depends on how bad flu season gets with the "global situation" currently going on.

It appears that responses to this piece have been overwhelmingly positive.

Perhaps this reaches out to decision makers and convinces them that the market for uplifting music is just as strong as those serious (and dare I say, cold) soundscapes movie-makers elsewhere are crazy about.

I’ve had this piece on repeat since it was released and was surprised at how much I missed hearing this sound from Zimmer.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy post-2010 Zimmer as much as the next guy, but between this and Lion King I’m really starting to wish for this more dynamic type of scoring. Not just from HZ either, I feel like the industry could benefit from a return to more traditional scoring, even with a modern twist.

And I do like the soundscape approach to scores, but it seems like most of the indie films/tv shows/etc. utilize a very similar approach. Same with how blockbusters had that Dark Knight/Inception sound for a while.

I would love to hear this type of music more but it just depends on the movie and the director. I think modern movies are so muted in color and in general are more gritty and tonally realistic. The only exceptions are superhero films or John Wick type movies and you are getting this type of scoring in a lot of those films already (far inferior and more generic than this piece imo).

I think the only way the industry will go back to traditional scoring is if art films change and titans like Nolan, Villeneuve, etc. embraces it.

The track is great! It reminds me of some kind of mix between Angels & Demons and The Lion King with WW's theme mixed in.

I hope Zimmer not only uses his theme but also the ones Rupert Gregson-Williams did for the WW movie.
