I would love for another animated score from Steve. Why is it almost impossible for him to score for Katsuhiro Otomo out of curiosity?I just saw this, EXTREMELY HAPPY!!!! he's so dope and talented apparently he's already done a few tracks cause the actor lewis tan sais he liked what he already heard.He is scoring to Mortal Kombat reboot movie, I saw that news from film music reporter, but mortal Kombat 1995 score was my favorite score.@Evenstar Original Movie Picture Score? lul. Usually it's called Motion Picture but ok.

No not always. I have a lot of scores where it is on the front of the booklet. Especially when an album with songs was released. So that the laypersons don't get confused, but still always manage not to look through, you can see on Amazon.Mark Mancinas Score for the First - Good!
Trevor Rabin for the second - Fantastic Great Action Score I LOVE IT! Steve Jablonsky work too on it! The Dr. Dre Music in this too..

Lorne Balfe to the third - meeehhh buuuuhhh!!
======================

I agree about the first two scores. They're very different but equally as good. I know that some people are critical of the BB2 score (because it basically ignores the BB1 sound) but I love it. I think Rabin and Jablonsky did an amazing job.

As for Lorne' score.....I have to disagree. I think it's great. Granted, my opinion is based only on what I heard in the movie (haven't heard the entire album) but I really like what he did. Clearly it was done with love. I mean, the Bad Boys 1 score is one of the reasons why Lorne became a film composer. So the BB3 score wasn't a "rush job". He clearly put an effort to it. I'm looking forward to the entire album.
Comes out this Friday :)Still hope that Katsuhiro Otomo will reunites with Steve for his new anime, even if it's almost impossible.Mark Mancinas Score for the First - Good!
Trevor Rabin for the second - Fantastic Great Action Score I LOVE IT! And if it has already come out, does anyone know where it's available?Just saw the trailer...…

Not exactly an epic movie but I'm still quite excited for Steve's music. Deepwater Horizon contained some pretty cool cues so I'm definitely in for another Berg/Jablonsky collaboration.
I’m assuming the first track is the end credits sequence? Lorne confirmed the end credits are included... and they are awesome.The score is getting release by Paramount Music, in other words, digital and same day as the movie opens (31th January)Any news on if we get an album for The Rhythm Section?I wish to see you in concert in Poland it is so close to Germany and i think that you have many fans heere :)Booklet credits:

NIMEPATA UPENDO

Performed by The Mully Children’s Family Choir
Choir Director: Dickson Mulli
Lyrics by Scott Haze, Carol Wilhelm & Mercy Waitherero Macharia
Music by The Mully Children’s Family Choir and Benjamin Wallfisch

LOVE WILL BE YOUR SHELTER

Written by Siedah Garrett and Benjamin Wallfisch
Vocals: Siedah Garrett
Orchestra: Macedonian Radio Symphony
Produced and Mixed by Benjamin Wallfisch

Music Composed and Produced by Benjamin Wallfisch

Executive Producer: Robert Townson

Score Orchestrated by Arturo Rodriguez, Benjamin Wallfisch

Featured Vocalist: Tori Letzler

Guitars: Owen Gurry

Synthesizer Programming: Steve Davis, Evan Goldman

Cello Solos: Tim Hugh

Violin Solos: Stephanie Gonley

Orchestra: The Chamber Orchestra of London

Orchestra Contractor: Gareth Griffiths

Orchestra Conductor: Geoff Alexander

Score Recorded by Steve Price

Assistant Engineer: Alex Watson

ProTools Recordist: Chris Parker

Music Preparation: Jill Streater

Score Recorded at Angel Studios, London

Score Mixed at Mirai Sevens

Score Mixed by Satoshi Noguchi

Score Mix Assistant: Coleen Lutz

Score Technical Assistant: Max Sandler

Mastered by Patricia Sullivan

For example Bad Boys 2 has Trevor Rabin and many composers as additional music but that's the composer music. Dr. Dre. write additional music but that was rap remixes. So, that's why i think the take movie picture score instead motion picture score.

Some of the best music from that movie is during the final Daytona Race. Over 8 minutes pure action music and its still not on any promo, bootleg etc. Heard that the composer of that part was Mark Mancina ?

Nord2013-11-07 03:28:16
It definitely wasn't Mancina

Edmund Meinerts2013-11-07 10:49:39
Source? Because I've heard plenty of people say it is.

hybrid2013-11-07 13:38:10
No Edmund, it's just Clemmensen who wrote that 15 years ago and it stuck and everyone went with it as Gospel, but there have never been any proof of that. I sent a message to Mancina, let's see...

Anonymous2013-11-07 13:39:29
It's on the new limited edition release from La La Land, no?

Hybrid Soldier2013-11-07 13:42:15
And yeah I wrote that above.

And yeah apparently it is on the LLL... :)

Edmund Meinerts2013-11-07 17:30:35
Oh okay. I didn't know Clemmensen was the one who started that, but I've just heard people mentioning it in various forums. Although come to think of it, how could he have written it 15 years ago considering he didn't write a review of Days of Thunder until 2010? :p

Either way, can't wait to hear it.

Poe2013-11-08 00:43:39
Filmtracks has been online since the late 90s. However, a while ago Clemmensen went back and rewrote a lot of earlier reviews.

Edmund Meinerts2013-11-08 01:08:21
Yes, I know, but the Days of Thunder review was part of a relatively recent series on early Zimmer works. The review page says when it was written, which in this case is the 19th of March, 2010. If it was a rewrite of an old review it would say "Last Edited" and have an older "Written on" date.

Believe me, I know how the place works. Much to Hybrid's irritation, I can imagine. :p

It's not commercially available yet, but rumor has it that La La Land Records is going to release it soon.

I´ve been hearing Jeff Beck the last 2 Days and nights and it is his style !!!
Thank you very much !
I owe you one !

Skyler reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-02 00:00:00
I just looked it up on wikipedia, and it says Jeff Beck played all the guitars for the score. To my knowledge this is the only time he has ever collaborated with Media Ventures.

Hope that helps!

Marco reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-02 00:00:00
Maybe some other Idea ???

Marco reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-02 00:00:00
I don´t think that Pete haycock played this song because i can´t find it in his Discography but you´re right K2 and Thelam and Louise have been played by him...

Skyler reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-01 00:00:00
Yeah, I'm not sure who did the guitars. Whoever it is isn't credited on IMDb or anywhere else.

But if I had to guess, I would say it's probably Pete Haycock. It sounds similar to their other collaborations from around the same time (K2, Drop Zone, Thelma & Louise, etc.).

I fell in love with the music from the movie when I saw it, is there any talk of it being re-released like thru a "Varese Sarabande`s Soundtrack Club"? Love your work Hans!!

I've got so many random versions of this score I don't know what to do with them! All we need is one good release and we'll all be happy! With todays MP3 format you could sell the score for nothing. PLEASE release it. It would be a waste not too for such good work. I love the score but my favorite has to be the end credits.........unreal. well done Hans.

I am the fan club president for the Jeff Beck fan club. I've waited years for this precious tasty shred yet anthemic Jeff Beck session work done in 1990 brought out great by Hans Zimmer. Nice tasty fleeting blues lines on a couple oftracks too.!

This is one of best score for the kind of racing movies. Just, one thing would complete this version: The music used in the final race where cole win. What i hear, this cue was composed by Mark Mancina and it´s not included in this version or any other versions of expanded bootlegs. Please, team of remote control production, make a complete score of this movie and put this cue.

All I have to say is there is such a thing as supply and demand. If the fans want the Days of Thunder original score why not put it out there in the public domain.

I recently purchased the 'Escape to Victory OST' by Bill Conti, Bill is very reluctant to release his music on CD yet he did it. The CD is only 40 minutes long but I and other fans have really enjoyed it.

If you don't want people asking where they can get a copy of the Days of Thunder score then PLEASE release it officially. Give it a decent cover, remaster the sound digitally and make some money out of it. Why not???

I for one would rather pay £10 for it and get a nice shiny CD with a decent case and some pics inside than a scratchy low quality product.

Come on, you know it makes sense! ; )
