Any news on the album?Call me crazy but I really would have been interested to see what Tom's Godzilla would sound like under the direction of someone with good musical taste such as Dougherty.

Not really a huge fan of Desplat's work but I would definitely kill to hear Douglas Pipes take on this project.@Edmund Hahahahaha..... yeah, I've always heard that too. Even the chopping string section in the background of both pieces is vaguely similar.Zimmer did some additional music on this?Sounds to me like the big dramatic Bach-like theme at the very end of the Kraken. Only a slight similarity though :p
Wow Edmund, I'm impressed... where do you hear this theme in The Kraken? They sound like completely different pieces of music to me :-DI'm not upset (I like Junkie, but I LOVE Desplat's), but i HOPE for Desplat or PipesToo bad, but I hope this means Desplat is back.I see, thank you for answer!Sounds excellent . Balfe has really found a unique voice now . I have listened to the YouTube link for the album constantly
So... long story short, it actually looks like Tom will NOT be doing Godzilla after all, according to director Michael Dougherty. Check the director's Twitter account. Even though I enjoy Tom's music, I'm much more excited about the prospect of a Douglas Pipes Godzilla score (or the return of Desplat, tbh).I asked this before to lorne on Facebook . He said the roles can mean different things . Some composers assistants help with running the office . Some deal with making sure the music works to the latest cut of film . Some arrange
And orchestrate also . Means varied tasks .Please!!! Come to Mexico!!! I agree with Leonardo!!!Please could you also come to MEXICO!!! You have a lot of fans in Center and South America!! :)Yeah, just got announced on Film Music Reporter, although the rumor was flying around long before that. Really disappointing for me, since the director Michael Dougherty usually works with Douglas Pipes who is a great, underappreciated composer.
It really is too bad HGW isn't scoring Alien. He is one of the best film composers and he scores so few movies these days. A real shame!Great score.....I have a question and I would love if somebody can answer it - What such an assistant of composer is doing? Is he just making coffee or actually making music? I am really curious, I know that Lorne was assistant too!@Hybrid: Is true Tom go to compose Godzilla: King of the Monsters?nice thanks
