Is this legit?First 2 minutes look like to be demo of "Home"Zimmer, Badelt and Djawadih t t p s://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAleXrIgBr8&feature=youtu.be hello I found this a while ago it is a rejected theme from the film lone ranger, score compos by hans zimmer. Probably hans didnt like this theme and decided not to use it, or maybe it was directors decision not to use. Anyway, enjoy it! I like very much the score how it is now but this ideas is interesting!<br>Just listen to "The Oil" for an example
The orchestral intro to "it's on again" (also outro of "You're that spider guy", just not with the percussion from TASM2) was re-used all over the Dunkirk score as well. The bass line for it is pretty obviously or very similarly re-purposed in a few places.Bill Conti gets an Oscar...so...i think Hans get a nominationThe reason I believe it partially depends on the piece's composition date is because of copyright laws. Arrival had to pay rights to use Richter's piece, just like if it had used a pop song, and I believe this played a big factor in its disqualification. Elgar's piece is public domain now, so it would be like if a score had included a Mozart sonata (extreme comparison).LOL @Macejko. I think Edmund is completely exhausted now. It'll take two to three days regain all the fluids he lost.@ James D<br><br>I don't disagree that Star Wars is the tip-of-the-iceberg when it comes to film music projects. However, you have to remember Powell has been in the game far longer than Giacchino has. I don't believe it has to do with how long you've been in the business, but if you're "sound" can carry the movie.
Powell's reception as composer of the new SW has been excellently welcomed! Wonderful!<br><br>------------------------------------------------------[<br><br>@Andrew<br><br>Let's face it: SW is still a very distant star for Balfe. Not just for him, for many others. Even John Powell. Achieving that score is an event in his career.Vced - balfes score to Home for example clearly shows he can write music like that .It's RCP's style and it's pretty much different of William's LOL"Star wars finally turns to the Zimmerian's style then !"<br><br>John Powell isn't Hans Zimmer. <br><br>When has Zimmer (or Balfe for that matter) ever written a score that remotely sounds like Star Wars - who seriously thought that was going to happen LOL.<br><br>Much as I like Hans, this is a job for educated composers.<br><br>No way !<br><br>Hans was dining with Ron like 3 days before Ron was announced as director. But first, Powell was hired before Ron was in, and second I doubt Hans had 0,001 % interest in it, and probably rather pushed Ron towards JP !
This is great news! I really wanted Hans to do this but if not him then Powell is a great choice which I am sure Hans somehow was involved in. <br><br>I just hope this doesn't mean that Hans and Ron Howard won't work together in the future.Star wars finally turns to the Zimmerian's style then !Edmund, be sure to tell us you're OK after all those cumshots.What shame Balfe didn't get the opportunity especially after GeniusThe official Star Wars website just confirmed that John Powell will score the untitled Han Solo movie! Since the day Ron Howard took over, I've anticipated Hans Zimmer to do it but John Powell is definitely next to him on the list. What an exciting news!

Is there a cleaner version of this out there? This suffers from being from an analog sourse and the hiss makes it hard to listen too... come on, someone must have this out there!

Probably the reason why this isn’t released is because most of his scores sound the same. ‘Charlie Loses His Head’ at 6:15 on the official release is identical to his Batman Begins score. (not just similar, but identical!). Many of the cues in black rain also draw similarities to his recent Last Samurai. Similar with Black Hawk Down’s track ‘Tribal War’ – is the identical theme from Pirates of the Caribbean. Perhaps its not fair to claim that he rips off his own music (after all... he wrote it), and i do like many of his works – even if they are repeats of his previous pieces. But c’mon mr zimmer, i know your capable of more!!

A soundtrack masterpiece, period. I'm in the same boat as Lsnake: I've been searching for the movie opening version of "I'll Be Holding On" for many years, it just does not seem to be out there. I would offer pretty good money for a clean copy of that track. Released version of that song is great, but the great opening guitar riff is not part of it.
I would still love to see the expanded score available. Hans rules.

Hans, you're the man! I've been a big fan since 'Crimson Tide' and only just recently discovered that you composed the music to 'Black Rain.' Please excert your influence to get your full instrumental score for this film released on cd. You deserve it. We, your fans, deserve it. The music deserves it.

Oh, I was talking about "I'll be Holding on". The one that is playing from the start of the movie. Trying desperately to figure out if it's possible to obtain that version, if it's a full version, anything..

Lsnake reply Replies: 0 || 2008-10-12 00:00:00
I've always loved the version that is actually in the movie, better than the more "rocked" version you get from the soundtrack. Fantastic song for sure, but there's something about the intro one that I can't resist.

It's not on the extended score, and I'm just not sure where to look for it. It should exist somewhere right? Considering Gregg sang that version, it should be available somewhere?

To make it clear, it's the version that plays from the Red Sun with "Black Rain" in white letters, to when Nick arrives at with his MC. Tried Youtube, but everyone got the rocked up version, and none got the in-movie version..If anyone got any ideas, I'd be extremely grateful.

As Asian, I am really shocked by the music, as Hans has successfully mixed the Eastern and Western style together. That's brilliant!

I'll be Holding on is a fantastic song, but I've heard both the normal and expanded soundtrack, and the version of "I'll be holding on" in the beginning of the movie is nowhere to be found. Does this version exist these days? The end version also seems different than the one released on the standard Soundtrack..

The normal version is great, but there's something special about the more atmospheric version in the beginning.

Today, the 18th of september of 2006 it is impossible to buy this exiting CD...a shame. Hans Zimmer set the standard for the modern day ost music, as well as James Horner e.a. These CD's should be available to everyone, in every country, even now...

cymod reply Replies: 0 || 2006-03-23 00:00:00
Why doesn't Herr Zimmer release his own version of this much sought after bootleg? He could present it the way it should be done...right!

"--Outburst Of Rage"-- in one part is similar to track "--Molossus"-- from Batman Begins!

Just listen and see!
